S02 E12 · Chapter Twenty-Five: The Wicked and the Divine

Holy cow did this episode have a lot to unpack. This episode was the episode of the season, in my opinion. This recap ended up being a vast undertaking but I think it’s worth it. I hope you guys agree. (I definitely did not have a power outage and lose a bunch of work at one point, nope. I almost shanked someone.) There was so much amazing content, ship development, and heavy character arc storytelling that I was overwhelmed. I noticed so much more writing and then reading this recap. It was a hell of an episode.

My Rating: 10/10 - I am in love with this episode. If I could marry it, I would. I could write word fountains to it. I did write word fountains to it. Riverdales hottest episode is SQUISH SQUISH. It has everything you would want in an episode. Gophers, vans down by the river, mobsters who don’t know what cheese is, men made of literal shit, and a live game of Clue where you actually die. [x]

[Jughead] "I'm actually writing a new article about how you seem to care more about catching a vandal than the Black Hood. Can I get a quote?"

I am living for this Jughead, smart as a whip, sharp tongued, no fear, snarky Jughead. 🙌

FP chuckling at Jughead's smart mouth. 😂

[Guy] "Do I look good?" [Betty] "Mmm-hmm." [Guy] "Can I undress for you?" [Betty] "Yeah." [Guy] "I love talking to you." [Betty] "I like talking to you too." [Guy] "Can we meet sometime?" [Betty] "Maybe."

OKAY, so. Theory time. It's my theory that Betty wasn't the one on the cam. The person she was talking to was and she was watching. I've looked up info on this whole cam guy/girl thing and here's what we know.

Betty isn't caming to a chat room like Chic had done, this interaction would be a private chat room with her and one other person - so it's unlikely something like this is getting out.

The private rooms CAN have two way camera's, but that doesn't mean that there is in this scenario. The dialogue doesn't indicate he can see her, only that she can see him. He asks if he looks good and if he can undress, if they were both on cam, it seems incredibly weird that none of the dialogue even mentions seeing her.

Betty makes poor choices, but she isn't stupid. I know, I know, she's in the Dark!Betty outfit. That doesn't necessarily mean she's doing the caming, it means she wanted to put herself in that head space and persona.

There is a camera on the desk, it's not plugged in but I'm sure it could be wireless. If it is, it's set to the side of the desk, is quite close to her, and is pointed at chest height, where she has her arms up and over. If that cam IS on it would be showing MAYBE her chin to her chest, mostly arms from how she is sitting. Her face wouldn't be showing up in the video.

SO, this whole cam thing irritates the shit out of me, it doesn't feel appropriate, and her choices didn't make sense to me given her character arc. I find it hard to believe she would just start gallivanting on the internet and showing her face as a Cam girl, especially when it's something she just only discovered. I hate this shit, but the least I can hope for is that she isn't being a complete dolt about it and is smart enough to keep her anonymity.

My initial reaction to this was definitely only WTF. 😨 And WHO THE EF WAS THAT. 😰 This all was post unpacking. Parts of these recaps are initial reaction, parts are definitely in post.

I love that Betty is painted as somewhat of a goody two shoes, but her response to being called to the principal's is shrugging. 🤷

[Jughead] "I'm so sorry, Betty." MY FEELINGS. 😍

[Jughead] "He has no proof, but he suspects one or more of the Serpents, probably me, decapitated the statue of General Pickens." [Betty] (With amusement in her voice and a smile) "And did you?" [Jughead] "Betty, how-(chuckle) Why would I decapitate a bronze statue?"

Betty's smile and tone is adorable, I want to put her in my pocket.

How he would even decapitate that bronze statue is a good question. His chuckle followed by why. He has jackets to worry about.

[Betty] "To avenge... (softer, changed voice) Toni's grandfather..." Jealous Betty rises. 👿

Who labels their friendship with someone as pals? Jughead, you are an odd duck. I love you, duck. 👁❤️👑🦆

He completely dismisses that he would consider Toni anything more than a friend. 👏 You lay that to rest, Juggy!

I am so proud of Betty for bringing up that she saw Toni and Jug at the diner seeming like more than pals. That took guts, pal. 💪

I can't let the pal thing go. Sorry not sorry.

[Jughead] "She gave me a..... tattoo." (Look of relief on Betty's face) THAT PAUSE BETWEEN GAVE ME A AND TATTOO LEFT ROOM FOR A LOT OF STRESS, JUGHEAD. You know Betty was thinking SHE GAVE YOU A WHAT? 🤬

[Jughead] "And we did some stuff, but not everything." -- I am living for his honesty right now. It’s obvious he felt that it was Betty's place to ask and that he owed her the complete truth. 😍

"Betty, I still have my V-Card!!!!" Good job, honey. We would be having words otherwise.

Mila and I unpacked this along with the scene in 2x06. The consensus between us came to be making out, coping a feel, over clothing of some kind, kind of business to classify for "some stuff" but also a "PG-13 grope session." I'm very detail oriented okay. Answering the important questions. 👌

[Jughead] "But since you brought it up, have you done anything with anyone since we broke up?" [Betty] "No, no. Of course not."

Dammit, Betty. 🤦

Betty lied pretty damn smoothly, although you could tell she was a little too vehement in her denial. She quickly turned away and messed with her ponytail. Betty Cooper, you have a tell. I'm surprised it's one Jughead doesn't know. 👀

EVICTION NOTICE. SERIOUSLY. CAN WE NOT TAKE EVERY HOME JUGHEAD HAS EVER HAD?

The theory has been circulating that the damn Lodge's would be going after Sunnyside next, due to its proximity to the Drive-In and Southside High. That it would be next as part of the SoDale project. Hiram, you are on my shit list. 💩

14 days to vacate? In what city. If you get evicted they would give at least 30 days.

If Hiram is on my shitlist, so is Keller. Keller may, in fact, be a man made of literal feces. The world may never know. Talking poo. The magic of Riverdale.

Keller is a real asshat, “Hey kid I know you're just a teenager and my son's friend, but I'm going to leave this paper here that makes you homeless and then follow it up by with a smart comment to you about finding a stupid statues head while you're packing up to live in a van down by the river. Jordan Connor is 6'3", I wrote more or less a dissertation on it. and Scott McNeil is listed at 6'4"... so he is the tallest guy. JS. 🤷

Actors height aside, if we break this down in canon, Tall Boy is still the taller guy in the canon narrative.

Jughead Jones is smart as a whip. He deals in facts, and he doesn’t mess around. There is no way that he would say something, in a room full of people, that would be widely known as untrue.

Tall Boy and Sweetpea definitely compared heights one evening at the Wyrm. They stood back to back, Toni got out a step stool and called the verdict, everyone stood around and watched, it was a whole thing. Tall Boy was the tallest guy, it’s a widely known fact at the WW.

Jug might not always tell the truth, but he’s definitely not dumb, he wouldn’t tell a blatant lie that everyone would know is untrue in a room full of people. He’s smarter than that, with how calculated he is, that would make no sense.

Therefore, if Jug says he’s the tallest guy in the room? He’s the tallest guy. 👌

Jughead is RAGE. He is triggered. “I’M THE JUGHEAD, BITCH.”

[Hiram] "I'M DOT DOT DOT IMPRESSED." Is Hiram turning into Dr. Evil? ONE MILLION DOLLARS DOT DOT DOT ONE HUNDRED BILLION DOLLARS. 🤣

Chic in a bathrobe and a jar of milk, really? 🥛 What are you, Riverdale Hugh Hefner... with milk? I can't take you seriously. Are you talking? "Milk, does the body good," that's what he's saying right?

[Jughead] "You are supposed to be an ally Mayor McCoy," TEA. ☕️

JUGHEAD DUN DUN DUNNNNNN... *sound effects, music change* HAS HAD A... 👏 REVELATION.

McCoy's expression of "I ain't no bitch." should be a gif. Who is making this gif?

I just got really distracted by Jughead's freckles. I'm sorry.

And his twitching brow.

And his expressive eyes.

And his trembling, chapped, bottom lip.

Jughead has figured out it was Hiram Lodge and he looks determined AF. Jughead 'I don't back down' Jones. Look at that face, he ain't backing off shit. 👊

Honestly, this whole scene was Jughead expression gold. I desperately need a gifset of every expression he makes in the entire scene. Please!

Everyone in this soup kitchen scene, including the women, have these McDonald's hats on and their hair back, except Ronnie. Veronica Lodge does not wear hats. 🧢

[Jughead] "You're the only person in this town that I can talk to about something like this." [Betty] "Before you do, can I just point out one thing?" [Jughead] "I know what you're going to say. Last time the Serpents and I were in trouble, I pushed you away." [Betty] "What do you need, Jug?"

I love the body language and tone here in this scene. The layers that are on this dialogue are plentiful. I am here for it. I love Bughead scene's at Pop's.

"I know what you're gonna say, wife. I messed up, I love you forever. I'm in the dog house, forgive me. I accept your tea." "My tea was delicious. I can't stay mad at that face, husband. I love you too."

I am sorry but I can't stop fixating on Jug and Betty's eyes in this scene, this lighting is on point.

Betty's indignation at the wrong that is being committed against Jughead and the southside community for the trailer park eviction. 👏 We had been wondering who's side Betty would take in this war against the Southside. WHELP. 🙌

Sleuthing Bughead!!!!!

[Betty] "If the statue's what's fueling her fire, then let's take away the gas. 'The Case of the Decapitated Statue.' Let's treat it like a missing persons case. Someone, somewhere, must've seen something. So, we'll canvas the town with reward flyers for anyone who has information." [Jughead] "Finding that head and who did it would really take the wind out of Mayor McCoy's sails."[Betty] "So..." [Jughead] "Find the head, save the trailer park."

OMG. THEY ARE INVESTIGATING. 😍

I get real caught up in Jughead's references. I looked up Order of the Orphidians. Orphidia are a subgroup of reptilian creatures including modern serpents. But the Orphidians are from Ultima Online, an MMORPG. The Orphidians had a culture based on the Principles of Balance; the forces of Order, forces of Chaos, and the followers of Balance. Very Jughead Jones.Very Star Wars. 🐍💫

DAMMIT PENNY, Jughead's face was so full of hope and determination before she showed up.

Is anyone else surprised whenever Jughead calls FP 'Dad'? Especially in front of the entirety of the Serpent's AND Penny? ….or ever really? It feels off.

With Tall Boy's long, flowing, voluptuous locks and his nose piercing, he could give any college girl a run for her money in a beauty contest, amiright? 😂❤️🌸😘🌺😉😨😍😋💖💕🎀

OF COURSE, Tallboy has teamed up with Penny, OF COURSE. Being bitches makes for strange bedfellows. 🤛

Why are they even considering meeting this viper woman's demands? I get it, they want to save Sunnyside, so do I, but there are other ways than THIS BITCH. 🤬

[Penny] "Blood for blood. An eye for an eye. I want back in with the Serpents and I want him kicked out. Oh, yeah, one last thing I want his tattoo carved off. And I want to do it myself. With a dirty knife."

Every sentence of this made me more and more angry. I had a series of "OH NO YOU DIDN'T"s and "THIS BITCH"s in escalating volume after every sentence she said. By the time she brought up the dirty knife I was ready to throw my remote at her smug face.. or maybe a dirty knife. 🔪

I have watched Jughead's face in detail during this scene. Penny says she wants him kicked out of the Serpents and he looks distraught, his eyes are glistening. Penny says she wants to cut off his tattoo with a dirty knife and he looks like I’M NOT THE ONE, TRY ME, I WILL END YOU BITCH. Moral of the story, losing the Serpents makes sadboy Jug, threats to his self makes Hulk Jug. No one likes Jughead when he's angry. 👿

FP gets home and Jughead's first and only priority is, "Well? What did they say? Are they kicking me out?" Jughead fears a lot of things… but they aren’t the things an every day Joe normally fears. He is a man of limited weaknesses.

[FP] "Penny's a cobra, but mutilating her? That's the kind of thing you don't come back from, Jug." [Jughead] "Yeah, like stuffing a teenager's body in a freezer?"

Jughead can come back from this, believe that, he weeble wobbles and doesn’t fall down, remember that.

There is so much to unpack in this scene. The tears in FP's eyes, the narrow eyed smart mouth comment in response from Jughead, FP lashing out. There are a lot of levels of understanding, empathy, and frustration I have with both of these characters.

I do not, at all, agree with FP putting his hands on his son in violence. However, I do appreciate the phenomenal acting and the extreme amount of dynamic layers that are added on to both FP and Jughead as characters here, good and bad.

Jughead shows no regret or repentance for what he did to Penny here, but I feel that's a defense, a wall. I don't think he wants to show that kind of vulnerability in front of his father.

Jughead pushed FP off of him. He is standing up for himself, no doubt about that. He seems to seek his father's approval while disregarding his authority all at the same time.

[FP] "Tall Boy was right. You brought the Northside down on us. Serpents are losing their dens because of what you wrote."

"That was way harsh, Tai."

Low. Blow. I can't believe FP just took Tall Boy's side here, that he is blaming Jughead for this. This civil war was brewing long before that article. Step off, FP. 😠

FP should be having his son's back, first and foremost, Serpents be damned. Blood before… reptiles. 🚫🐍

REALLY FP, AGAIN WITH THE DAMN SNAKE ANALOGIES? Can you not have a serious conversation without a DAMN CHEESY SNAKE REFERENCE? Serpents are losing their dens?!

Jughead dropping truths over here. Calling all of it like it is.TEA. ☕️

[Jughead] "You're using my article. And they're using what happened to the statue of General Pickens as an excuse to justify something they've already been doing." [FP] "You think you're a hero, Jug? Cutting up women? Bringing the temple down right on our damn heads? You will be the death of us. Not the Northside, not Penny. You."

I am going to shake FP til his head pops off. 🛑

Wtf is bringing the temple down even supposed to mean? Words are hard, FP.

If anyone saves the Southside and the Serpents, it will be Jug. Just saying. ....bitch. 🤬

Jughead's look of pure fury, followed by him throwing his beanie down is a MOOD. Don't make Jughead angry!!! YOU WON’T LIKE HIM WHEN HE'S ANGRY! I'M TELLING YOU. Jughead is RAGE.

Of course SAM 🕴 drives a black Ford Tahoe. Typical.

Why are they having this meeting at Pop's instead of at Hiram's? Or his office.. Or the back room of a damn bar like any good mobster meeting? 🍻

Poppa Poutine? And he owns a chain of hot dog restaurants in Quebec? SERIOUSLY?

Poppa just took a bite of a quarter of an inch of a fry, spit it out, and said it wasn't cheese curds. No, dumbass, it's a french fry. Clearly you need a new nickname if you don't know the difference between cheese and potatoes. 🧀 ≠ 🥔

Ooooooo, Hiram just admitted to owning Pop's in front of Archie! I can't wait for the rest of the Core Four to find this out.

So I will give two things to Hiram, he loves his daughter and he sticks up for Pop. ✌️ Past that...? 💩

Archie can hear this mobster conversation crystal clear, however he still stands up on the toilet and looks out the window where he could easily be seen. CLEARLY he is the king of stealth and prime pick for this undercover job. 😑

They want to take out Hiram! What is Archie going to do with this information? The plot thickens. 😮

Josie singing Bittersweet Symphony with Veronica is beautiful! This might be my favorite cover on the show yet! ....the framing is completely unrealistic, but STILL. 🙋

Goofy Kevin, Proud Archie, Happy Betty, Beaniless Jug.. in a suit!!!

Very symbolic choice in song and lyrics for this moment by Veronica.

Veronica has her moment of doubt, sees Archie crystal clear, light rises and... "I do." GOOSEBUMPS. That is some damn good cinematography and acting right there. Beautiful Varchie moment. FEELINGS. 😍

How Veronica was in darkness looking at her parents, but then they fade out and Archie is in the light, very symbolic. I definitely feel that this may be the start of Ronnie choosing Archie, and a more righteous path, over that of her parents. 😇

I can't wait to see the shit storm that rains down when the rest of the Core Four find out that Hiram bought Southside High. 🤪

When Veronica came to get Archie from Betty and Betty said "I'm gonna go look for Jug, anyway" Total Archie dismissal. Sorry, not sorry. Girl has her priorities.

Betty does not seem to give even one shit about Archie as anything more than a friend, just saying, or vice versa. This photo. 😂 They couldn't care less. Betty is a Varchie shipper. Barchie is clearly not looking very end game, I’m sorry. I’m not very sorry. #bugheadforever

Archie getting his cheek pinched, laughing, trying to back away and saying "Ow, ow, ow, thank you," and nodding to Ronnie's grandma. 🤗

I love how easily Betty can find Jughead. 😍

[Betty] "It's not like Jughead Jones to neglect a free buffet." BUGHEAD! BUGHEAAAAD! This is adorable. I am HERE FOR THIS. 🤩

Betty's genuine concern for Jughead possibly kicked out of the Serpent's is perfect. ...and she is beautiful. 😇

Just when I thought my hype couldn’t get any higher, Jughead opens up to Betty about what he has done. What is chill? 😭

[Jughead] "I broke a code, I messed up bad... Really bad. There's this person who suckered me into delivering drugs. And my dad, too, he got roped in. So, couple of Serpents and I, we Found her, grabbed her, and I cut her." [Betty] "Cut her?" [Jughead] "The worst part is, none of it even matters. 'Cause she's back."

Jughead barely even hesitates about opening up to Betty about everything that happened. He says he messed up, takes a deep breath, and just goes into it, come what may.

The emotion and levels of feeling that are packed into this speech Jughead gives is impressive.

Jughead’s shoulders are bouncing like he is tapping his leg, like he can't stay still, like he can't hold all of this in anymore.

He looks like he is going to cry. There is so much here when he tells Betty what he did!

Where Jughead did not appear at all repentant to his father earlier in the episode when confronted with what he did, he definitely does here. Jughead wouldn't show this kind of vulnerability to FP, but to Betty, the pretense falls and he shows how he really feels, without the mask, the anger, and the bravado.

He looks so regretful he did this horrible thing and it was all for nothing, she still came back.

[Jughead] It's like every decision I've made since we broke up, including our break up, just makes things worse and worse.

He's admitting he was wrong! BUGHEAD!! MY EMOTIONS!!!! 😭 What is a steady heartbeat?! 😍

Betty reached for Jug! Her hand is on his arm. I am HERE FOR THIS.

What an inconvenient time for a phone call! DAMN THESE INTERRUPTIONS, THEY MIGHT AS WELL BE CALLED BUGTERRUPTIONS AT THIS POINT!! BUT THAT MEANS IT'S BIT TIME, Bughead Investigation Team! 🙌

I have always shipped Varchie, not in an OTP kind of way, but I certainly support it. This scene, and others in this episode, really made me love Varchie a little more.

Archie, normally the big lug, isn't so naive and oblivious as he looks.

UGH, ARCHIE, I GET IT. SAM has you on lock, BUT I WANT TO KNOW WHAT HIRAM IS GOING TO DO, SON! Let the woman speak! 🤐

Hold up, what is Hiram planning to do in Riverdale that SoDale is just the beginning of? This sounds shady AF and Veronica knows? Does she know about Sunnyside? About Jughead and so many others losing their homes? How is she supporting this? This whole episode I've definitely been of the "Ohhhh snap, when Ronnie finds out, shit is going down," mode but... shit. I feel a lot disappointed. I really like Ronnie, I don't want her to be complicit and accepting of these things. 😢

I like the "I can't know" correction into "I don't want to know." He almost told her everything. With how they are playing this, even though he is in SAM's pocket kind of, I really don't think Ronnie would be upset with him at this point. He is playing SAM but actually helping Hiram. He did just warn him about that murder plot afterall. He's drawn his lines in the sand.

The love is real though, and that's beautiful. Varchie. 😍

That look they share is so tender, her mouth in a soft smile, the corner of his turned up, sweetness in both of their eyes. This is what I live for. 😍

Betty intends to tell Jug about the Archie kiss. Then when she meets his eyes, something switches in her. She smiles with this look of wonder. Like she realizes that right then, nothing is more important than them, than him, than being with him, like he is some kind of miracle. Dead. 💀

[Betty] "I just want you. I want all of you. Tonight."

The breath that Jug lets out after she says "I just want you," is like he has been holding his breath and waiting for the other shoe to drop. After she says "tonight," he breathes a long sigh of relief, of desire, of emotion. Brilliant. 🤗

I don't believe that Betty withheld telling him about the kiss out of malice or guilt, I think it's because of exactly what she said. She wanted Jughead, nothing else mattered, all the rest of it, the mistakes, the other people, the space, it was just white noise.

Jughead's hands on Betty's ass, her ribs, her back, her neck, her cheek. DAMN. This scene was worth waiting for. 😳

S02 E13 · Chapter Twenty-Six: The Tell-Tale Heart

It’s that time again! Let me say I am very sorry that this has been on a string of delays. I had surgery to remove all four of my wisdom teeth the day before this episode aired. Then unfortuantely I got dry socket, it was an ordeal. It’s been a long hiatus for Sarah. The good news is I know I really needed the refresher on this episode before 2x14, I hope you all will too!

My Rating: 8/10 - I really, really had so much to like about this episode. The cinematography was great, there was some great character growth, Lili’s acting was phenomenal, and the Bughead scenes were lovely. Riverdale’s hottest new episode is called Dead Bodies ‘R Us! It has everything you would want in an episode. Bleached fruit, hand candy, real people who are actually cartoons, and a poorly hidden murder cover up where the whole town could catch you! [x]

Betty Cooper is pretty much all of us for the rest of this episode, get ready!

Betty crying is heartbreaking. 💔 This episode is really getting me in the feelings already. They couldn’t take it easy on us with Jughead typing away this time. 💻 [x]

[Alice] He tried to hurt me and Chic, your brother- No, no, what are you doing? [Betty] I'm calling the police! [Alice] No, don't do that. Do not do that! [Betty] Mom, there's a man on our floor! [Alice] If the police come, they're gonna take Chic away from me and I won't let that happen again. [Betty] Well, if it was self-defense - It was self-defense, right? [Alice] Yes, of course, it was. But it won't matter.

We have handfuls of questions about what happened after Alice answered the door, and no answers. There has been some discussion on if it was Alice or Chic who killed Shady Man. The dialogue here indicates that Chic did it to protect his Mom. However, Alice isn’t exactly known for her honesty in all things and Chic is sitting uselessly in the corner. Is this really an answer? Probably not. Do I think Chic did anything out of love and protection for his mother? Not very damn likely. 😤

Alice has been fierce for her kids, but that dedication often seems to take her in the wrong direction. This is just another one of those times. Betty’s instinct to call the police is likely the right one, this can only get more messy. Successful well adjusted daughter? Control every facet of her life and talk down to her. Teen pregnancy? Throw them in an evil nun institute. Murder? Throw some bleach on it.

If it was self-defense and if Chic did kill Shady Man after he attacked Alice.. Alice doesn’t look any worse for the wear. Alice has no indications of bruises etc on her, who knows if her word would hold up in an investigation.

Then again, this is Riverdale. Teenagers were able to solve a murder that evaded the police at every turn. Clifford Blossom would still be running the town in his maple syrup suit if it weren’t for Betty and Jughead. So if they are the ones doing the murder covering? And it’s the word of Alice Cooper versus a dead drug dealer, I’m going to guess she would have been fine calling the police. 👮 Riverdale Police: We Don’t Know What We Are Doing! (We mostly bully teenagers, cool?)

Hal calls and Betty and Alice’s first thought that he can’t be trusted. Loving family. 👨‍👩‍👧‍👦

Betty cleaning up blood in that dress, the pretty dress she just lost her virginity in, is so typically Riverdale in its symbolism of loss of innocence.

Jughead, even in narration, doesn’t say anything to implicate the Cooper women, he gives no answers, only a description of a family trying to look out for each other. 🙌 Loyal Jughead!

I am so sick of this SAM 🕴 guy. This is getting less and less believable.

Wow, SAM throwing around drums 🥁, subtle. Real smoke and dagger here.

The Cooper women should start a cleaning business. They are speedy as hell, they even cleaned up themselves in next to no time. Riverdale is tiny after all, Hal couldn’t have taken long if he was on his way. They can call it Cooper Cleaning, Anything Spotless in 15 minutes or less! (And we mean anything!) ✨🔪

[Betty] Jug, what's up? [Jughead] Nothing, I was just calling to say good night. And, uh I love you. [x]

Catch me with all my feelings, Jughead didn’t even wait till the next day to call Betty. They made love and he called her the same night, not even hours it seems, later. Best guess that was less than an hour from when Betty got home. My Bughead heart. 💛💙

OMG, sweet soft Jughead said I love you with that smile. 😍

Betty didn’t return his declaration but this will come back up in the episode I’m sure. We all know Betty loves him. 💞 My feelings!

Jughead looks so concerned, don’t let your fears get the best of you, Juggie! 😫

Betty is the one that drove to the drain pipe? 😂

This guy didn’t have a wallet? That sounds unrealistic. Is this going to come back up? Foreshadowing??

A sewer pipe doesn’t seem like the most stealthy hiding location. Just throw a rug over a dead body! No one would ever find it with that kind of stealth cover up! 💀🙃

Penelope and Hal, gross. 🤮

But really, OHHHHH FP DIDN'T SEND THE HEAD, JUG DID. 👏

Color me surprised that FP wants to go through a legal route against the Lodges.

That head wasn’t around with Betty and Jug during the scene™. No one can convince me that Betty wasn’t in on it with Jughead in sending that head off to the Lodge’s. Until I get proof otherwise, she was in on it. It really fits into her character for it to have been partially her idea to send it to Hiram after what he pulled. I double checked the end of 2x12, the gift wasn’t sent directly to Veronica (Betty wouldn’t have done that), Andre just assumed it was. So it checks out. You can pry this headcanon from my cold, dead, hands. 🤲😂

FP saying “Boy” is one detail that always makes me laugh in this show. I am not sure how FP manages to be such a dramatic ass but also comic relief, all at the same time. 😅

Jughead doesn’t even look remorseful about doing what he wanted with Pickens’ head. He found it after all, FP just threw around accusations, he can do what he wants with it as far as I’m concerned. 👌

I’m really unsure what line Veronica is walking. Sometimes she seems to be firmly with her family, others she seems to want to still stay on the side of what is right. They definitely have made her a dynamic character.

Alice didn’t want Betty in this but now she’s sure in it now. 😵

Betty’s compulsive cleaning, especially of the apples 🍎, was phenomenal acting, filming, and editing. All the way to when Betty turns off her alarm. ⏰

How. Stepford. ALICE, REALLY? There are pancakes and everything is fine all a sudden? Alice is DELUSIONAL.

“I don’t like chocolate chip pancakes,” said with that very Betty expression, in her initial reaction to coming down to this scene is perfection. 🥞

Betty is apparently the only one with a conscience in this family and this is eating her alive. 😥

Omg Jughead coming to walk Betty to school. 😍 Oh the Bughead, good sweet soft juggy. [x]

The look of total relief on Betty’s face, despite looking completely haggard, is beautiful.

When Alice realizes it’s Jughead at the door, she just waves her hand in dismissal and walks away, I didn’t notice that initially. 😂

Between the phone call, and him showing up at her door, this is already lovely.

[Jughead] Hey, can I talk to you about last night? [Betty] Why? What about it? [Jughead] Nothing, I just thought we had this really nice night, and you hung up on me, so I kind of got nervous. Maybe you felt we were moving too fast or I don't know, maybe it wasn't enjoyable? [Betty] Oh, my God! No! - No, not at all. (chuckles and smiles) Last night was amazing. There was just a lot of drama when I got home. [Jughead] Let me guess, Chic-centric? [Betty] It'll be fine. Just typical Cooper house lunacy.

Jughead opening up about his fears and feelings, instead of letting them control him, is what we have been waiting for and I am HERE FOR THIS.

Betty’s reaction is perfect! Talking about their relationship is something I am so ecstatic to see and proud of. This is why I love Bughead! 💛💙

The parallel of both Varchie and Bughead walking to school and talking about their relationships is a lovely film choice. 🌂

[Veronica] “A low-key turf-war might be brewing between the Joneses and the Lodges.” This is some serious character driven conflict. I am high key excited for this.

Fans myself. You don’t manage Jughead Jones, girl. 👏 [x]

So Jug KNOWS it’s Hiram behind the troubles for the trailer park.

Jughead being angry and insistent at this kind of issue is something I can get behind.

Betty, poor, sweet, murder covering Betty. It’s tough to see her digging her nails into her hands again. 😰

The subtle Black Hood reference from Jughead about him returning from the grave, listen, we all know that is coming back up. That janitor fooled no one. Except Riverdale PD. 🤐

I am surprised Jug didn’t even make a move to go after Betty when she ran out of the room.

Caring Cheryl!!! She actually did try! Give us that redemptive arc! 🙌 [x]

“Martin Scorsese nightmare,” ACCURATE. 📽 That could be the full title of the show; Riverdale: A Martin Scorsese Nightmare. [x]

How is Hiram still a good guy at heart? You can’t tell me that Archie doesn’t know that the murder is the one he caused by his ratting out of Papa Cheese. 🧀 🐭

And SURE, Hiram loves his daughter, but he also sent that letter than threatened Hermione in order to coerce said daughter into doing what he wanted.

Hiram was also just being a huge douche to Archie, why is Archie suddenly #teamhiram?

I know, Archie is @#teamhiram because he feels the big strong mobster daddy can protect him and make him feel safe after the spiral of fear and weakness he felt after his father was shot. But I am firmly side eyeing this. 😑

When you are really interested in what is on that map Jughead is referencing, so you run the episode back, but even after doing so three times you still are just staring at Jughead’s hands…. What map? 😍🔥

I like how he seems more intuitive and knowledgeable than her and she’s a LAWYER. 👩‍🎓

JUG our Sherlock, intense, intelligent, incredibly good looking.

Ohhhh he’s onto her. And BIT (Bughead Investigative Team) is back! Betty just..... needs... a little help. Okay, Betty needs a lot of help.

How is it that teenage Jughead Jones is picking up on all of this with the Mayor and the Southside, but all the adults are none the wiser living in ‘Leave It To Beaver’ land.

I really, really loved Jug in this scene. Have you rewatched it? You should. He’s gorgeous. No one may like Jughead when he’s angry... but I do.

Uhhhhh soooo now SAM 🕴 is bribing Archie? I don’t think we can even pretend he is an FBI agent anymore. Agent Adams? More likes Agent Ahhhh, definitely full of shit, amiright?!

Hiram has to be one of the best liars in Riverdale. 🎲🎲 He should go to Vegas, become a hustler. 🎶 He’s a hustler, baby! 🎶

Hiram has emotion in his eyes for once, about Ronnie. She is the only good part of him.

You don’t GO BACK to the hidden dead body Betty!!! Seriously??! 🤦

And they left a cell phone on him? AND someone had realized he’s missing? 😱

Throw some extra throw blankets on him, it’ll be grand. Those plus the rug are very covert.

They are playing CLUE? REALLY? Hello Stepford family! Chic and Alice are clearly in some sort of delusion together.

Dammit Betty, call Jug. Put that cell phone down.

Listen, I’m a firm believer that during the drug run when the truck broke down in 2x07? [x] That Jug SHOULD have called Betty. 👏 His first instinct was to call her and have her bring them a tire, logical. Instead, Arch presses that Betty can’t get dragged into it. Archie does nothing but steer Jughead wrong when it comes to Betty this season, first the break up, then that. Betty would have much rather have helped out with a tire than have what did happen, happen. You can’t tell me that with their powers combined, the outcome of that situation wouldn’t have been better. She and Jug balance each other out. Archie was wrong, and he puts quite a bit of distance between Betty and Jughead with what he thinks is right.

I digress, here we are, Betty with the cell phone of a dead guy, murdered in her house, that she helped covered up… in her house. Cell phone’s can be tracked, a cell phone is evidence he was there. Good thing Sheriff Keller is more interested in seedy motels and missing statues than real crime. 🖕

And she’s freaking out, by herself. Chocolate Chip eating, Clue playing, everything is perfect Alice and Chic certainly aren’t going to be any help.

This episode summary said Jug and FP are on a “spiral out of control” in the episode summary but Betty definitely is the one spiraling here. Writing down every text that phone has on it is just more damning evidence in her home. Sure, the info may be helpful but at what cost?

Seriously Hiram may be a loving father, but he’s a terrible person and not a GOOD father.

So Shady Man is connected to Chic through drugs, not camming, good to know.

And Chic gave this random drug dealer the Cooper’s address to buy drugs? 👌

Alright, so let me get this straight, Chic was waffling around drinking milk and going on to Betty about how “I’d never tell those guys where I live” and “Boundaries are key. They’ll keep you alive,” in reference to his cam clients in 2x12… but then he tells a drug dealer where he lives, right quick?

Foreshadowing in 2x12 much? 🤔

Coincidence? Poor choice? I think not. Chic is clearly smarter than to have just brought that man into their lives without intention. This does not bode well for Casa de Cooper.

Betty is all of us at Chic at this point, we are all @ ing him.

Thank goodness Betty thought to turn off the GPS on that damn phone.

Betty is 100% right, if they are going to get caught, it will be Chic, and I wouldn’t be surprised if that’s not his intention.

Visually this scene is set up very well. Jug and FP are united together on one side of the room but Hiram is on his own on the other side. Veronica is sitting right in the middle. More symbolism and reference to that line she’s walking?

Hiram is greasy and he never admitted to being behind the statue. 😤

He offers to pay off the back debt of tenants at Sunnyside but at what cost? I wouldn’t trust Hiram as far as I could throw him, and I couldn’t even pick that man up.

Gratuitous Jones appreciation.

Damn straight that was a bribe. Hiram tried to be his normal, lying, two timing self and Jughead saw right through it.

I’m glad FP immediately backed up Jug on the no deal, supported his piece for the paper. I’m surprised that he did, but glad. FP needs to do his fair share of trusting his son. 👍

So Betty found his SO and she doesn’t want him back “he’s dead to me.” Well girl, he’s dead, period. 💀

This gives an opening for his disappearance to go without notice. This turns the phone into what seems to be a good thing. I hated Betty keeping that phone and saving contacts. However if she didn’t do it…

The text from Gigi, the shady man’s bae says “Ok honestly not mad, just pick up your phone.” All of the texts from her leading up to this point are concerned for him. It is Betty’s phone call that turns what could have been a phone call to the police making him a missing person, reporting that he is missing. I don’t want our girl going down so…. Here for this. 🙌

Jughead writing with his right hand and using chopsticks with his left hand? Color me impressed. Also catch me so into his hands right now. Is Jug ambidextrous then? 🤩

He answers phone calls from his girlfriend with, “Betty.” What?! 😂

But she called Jug for help!

And he came straight away, no beanie, no hesitation, left his take out without a thought! [x]

Omg communication! ALL THIS BUGHEAD COMMUNICATION IN THE LAST FEW EPISODES! GOOSEBUMPS! 🤗

THIS is what we had been missing from season 2 that we craved from season 1. Frankly I think this communication in episodes 12 and 13 has been better than any before. THIS is growth and development. THIS is an endgame ship. 💛💙

Jughead is just as nervous and distraught as Betty. And he is our moral compass. But he loves Betty. Shook!Jug. 😓

Omg your posts about Jughead love of tiny things had me CRACKING UP. His flailing over Betty's hands was THE BEST. BUT. Have you considered Jughead becoming obsessed with POPIN COOKING? POPIN COOKING HAMBURGERS. POPIN COOKING SUSHI. Betty ends up buying a ton of different Popin Cookin kits and she and Jughead spend HOURS making them. They end up having contests to see who can make them better.

Betty definitely already bought this set of 9 Popin Cookin for Jughead for Valentine’s Day. He definitely loved the hamburger kit the best, but any time Betty helps him bake those little mini foods, he is so besotted. He loves Betty Cooper more every day, but on those days when they make the tiny treats? His heart feels like it could burst. Her hands holding that burger, they’re so small!!

Betty definitely started following the tiny things tag on Tumblr, just to send Jug tiny object meme’s. And don’t even get him started on tiny houses or micro apartments. He has a whole plan of saving up and getting away from Riverdale with Betty. He wants to move into a tiny house while they go to college.

S02 E10 · Chapter Twenty-Three: The Blackboard Jungle

Since I am in fandom for episodes now... I am going to be doing my thoughts and reactions posts for episodes on Thursdays. I hope you guys will interact and talk with me!

My Rating: 7/10. I really liked this episode. Great character interactions and development, new characters I am invested in, pining. My hype had been so built up after the break, I was going to love this one either way, but it actually had great content. The hype is effective. Keep reading, you’ll see why.

Jughead is gorgeous in this scene. That small smile. 😚💓

I loved the Jughead and Toni scene. Jughead writing Lovecraftian short stories on the typewriter Betty gave him is such an aesthetic. Toni ships Bughead! I enjoy that she is calling Jughead out on his shit, just like FP, when it comes to Betty. “No comment,” all you want Jughead, we are onto you. You can gaze off into Egypt all you want, Jughead Jones, but our expressions are all Toni Topaz’s right now.

“YAYYYY POLLY,” I said excitedly before realizing she seems to have joined a farm cult and named her children after trees. 👶🏼🌲

We had been wondering if FP still worked at Pop’s and I am excited that he does! FP in his pops uniform! Hearteyes! 😍

I know our Bughead scene was short but she still went to him for help and he thought she wanted to talk about their relationship situation. 🙌🏻💛💙

Pining 101 by Betty Cooper and Jughead Jones: those looks they were serving across the table were giving me feelings!

School Days, by Chuck Berry, playing as Jughead and the Serpents made their entrance into Riverdale High was everything I didn’t know I wanted.

Cheryl’s entrance is an aesthetic. “Fascist Barbie.” 😂

We have a Cheroni meeting, I repeat, Cheroni have met… with sass! 👏

I loved the whole scene, really, from the moment the Serpents walk in until Weatherbee breaks it up. That is the kind of character conflict I am down for.

Jughead’s pinky, even when eating chips, gives me fangirl feelings. Playful Jughead! 😘

We have Kangs official meeting. I REPEAT, Kevin and Fangs have interacted. Fangs knew Joaquin, tell me more!

Cheryl, oh Cheryl. I love her and they do her so wrong. However, I have enjoyed her this episode. She is lashing out, and it makes sense. Her reaction when she accidentally told Archie about Veronica was genuine and I appreciated that. Cheryl doesn’t need to be a villain stereotype, tying people to train tracks with no motivation all the time, guys. So thank you, writers!

I agree with Weatherbee enforcing that the Serpents can not wear their jackets at school. Even if there was not tagging (regardless of who did it), gang related images on clothing is generally prohibited in a school dress code. Gang images on clothing were against dress code at my high school, right along with curse words, nudity, and anything drug related. It is reasonable and isn’t “targeting” them in the way that Jughead is saying. It just doesn’t have a place on school grounds for reasons that are logical. If they wanted to wear plain, black, un-gang marked, leather jackets to school then they totally could. 🤷

Toni and Sweetpea were fine with not wearing the jackets to school. Thank you! Their reaction was reasonable and everything they said, on point! These two are looking at things the right way.

Jughead, you sweet, sweet, stubborn, hypocrite, at least you know how to make an entrance.

Toni, Sweetpea, and Fangs in regular clothes, more please! Although speaking of dress code, damn girl those shorts are short.

I appreciate that Veronica pleaded with him to take off the jacket. Not that Jug listens. I am 100% a fan of their friendship. 🙋

Angry Jughead, WHY?! 🤬 The ONLY serpent to show up the next day in his jacket? Listen, as just established, it would be on a school wide dress code. He just got all the Serpent’s into a fight because he is being…. a dumbass. He is fighting for the wrong things here. He joined the Serpents to walk the line between Northside and Southside. He wanted to mediate and keep the Serpents out of trouble. However, now he is causing tension and inflaming that very problem? Jughead. Why. 👎

Alice Cooper can frustrate the hell out of me, but I love when she and Betty work together. Alice and Betty going to find Chic together was a lovely moment between them. 👩‍👧

So.... Chic is an.. escort? Talk about giving him backstory.

I liked the camera work when they walk into the room, having Chic in dark with the light streaming past him. Then keeping him more shadowed through out this scene as well. Very symbolic.

“The Last Resort” lifebuoy hanging on the wall, symbolic AF.

Some semblance of video game nerd 🎮 Jughead getting a nod with him playing the Mortal Kombat 2 arcade game, thank you!

Jughead is even starting beef with inanimate objects. He starts hitting the machine, why so angry all the time now, Jug? 😠

FP wears a wallet chain.

FP’s scoff and answer of just wear the jacket after school was perfection. YES. Thank you! “A Serpent never shed’s his skin,” Jughead? Uhhhh, does your dad wear his jacket to work at Pop’s? No? You can take it off at school and work, man. 🤦

Honestly, I understand why Jughead got so severely attached to Southside High. He had a feeling that he had a home and place of belonging. His parents didn’t give it to him growing up. He slept place to place as a teenager. He thought he had it with Archie and Fred but he also overheard some conversations that were I’m sure very hard to take in and made him feel unwanted. His mother turned him away from Toledo. His foster family just let him go live on his own, he could tell them he wants to go all he wants, but really it shouldn’t have went that way. He hasn’t had it easy, and he WANTS to love and be loved, he is going to latch on.

Either way I can’t find it in myself to stay mad at this sad face.

Why does Nick St. Clair have to be so good looking when I hate him so much? 😓

Archie was so pissed when Cheryl told him about Veronica’s situation with Nick, he even says he will kill him (obviously not literally). However, then he shows up at Nick’s and doesn’t say anything about it. Yes, he snaps when Nick insults Veronica, but still, he is playing a game it seems more than thinking about his feelings and that surprises me for Archie. I don’t know if I like it.

I love Jughead in his classic coat! He looks like a sad puppy though. 🐶

The uniforms, okay. Dress code against gang symbols, cool. Uniforms for only some students, not cool. You can’t single select students out to wear uniforms every day. If they showed up to school in clothes that were against dress code, yes, you can give them something to change into or the option for their parents to bring a change of clothes. However, if they weren’t violating code (and we know the other Serpent’s had not), the school can’t do this. That is wrong. THAT is reasonable for Jughead to be upset about.

The uniforms are because of Jughead’s hardheaded, stubborn behavior though. ☕️ Toni, Sweetpea, and Fangs are suffering the consequences.

Cheryl’s apology to Veronica! I am loving that they are making our girl’s ability to be genuine shine. 🌹

Betty is gorgeous in every scene this episode, just saying. But she is beautiful every episode. Beauty and Grace.

Archie told Veronica about the kiss and there was actually communication!!! YASSS!!!! I really loved this scene between these two, Archie’s honesty, Veronica’s acceptance, the love.

The kiss💋: Archie’s explanation of said Betty/Archie kiss is exactly what we all, here in fandom, took it as when we speculated the motivations and reasons. “I don’t think either of us are ever going to talk about it again.” Thank. Goodness. I was low key worried but I am happy this really does seem to be the case. Water under the bridge. And honestly this is a good thing, they addressed the possibility of Betty and Archie and it didn’t work, for either of them, they felt awkward about it and want to move past it. This is a good thing for Varchie and for Bughead. The show didn’t just avoid it, they addressed it straight away and I am pleased. Now I am excitedly awaiting this communication between Betty and Jughead. 🙌

I’m really excited for plot that Chic will bring into the show! I appreciate that Alice and Hal jumped right into action to help him when Betty brought him in hurt. There wasn’t hesitation, despite the previous conversation. 👨‍👩‍👧‍👦

Jughead making a D&D group is AMAZING, Swords and Serpents Club! ⚔️🐍 If only they would actually play D&D. Could you imagine the entertainment in those scenes?

Sweetpea rolls his D20, critical hit. “Fuck yeah, I destroy you, Jug!”

Jughead lowers his eyebrows in a frown and curses under his breath. Toni claps her hands, leaning back from the table in glee, and points at Jughead.

“Don’t get so excited, Toni, you’re next,” Sweetpea smugly grins.

Jughead with food at this point, not that I’m complaining at watching those hands peel an orange. 🍊😍

Intelligent and planning Jughead is a Jughead I can always get behind. I love that he thought up this group, designed a logo, and took it to Weatherbee and presented it in a way that sounded legitimate enough that he got away with it. 🤚

The cringe lines though… are cringey. 😅

Maybe they should rename this episode The Angry Jughead Jungle.

Chic, the creep-o brother, in the end scene was incredibly played up. I am definitely not passing judgement on Chic at this point. He has been through a hard life, it makes sense that he would envy his sister having what he lost. I am not buying the psuedo-sexual weird murder vibe they were putting out there. I could be wrong… but I hope not. 😳

S02 E11 · Chapter Twenty-Four: The Wrestler

I completely spaced doing this recap. SARAHFAIL. I had a fever for the days following the episode airing. Then a few days after that I was just exhausted from my health issues and the fever. Suddenly, it’s Wednesday again and I hadn’t done the recap. It’s 6am, Riverdale day, but here is the recap; better late than never! It was nice to relook at the episode before watching tonight!

My Rating: 6/10 - I liked the character arc’s in this one, it is giving me hope for the direction of many. However, this felt like a filler episode.

Jughead Jones with headphones on? Very season 1, time to get down to business.

Every time an episode starts without Jughead at his computer, I can’t help but be disappointed. I’ll make due with a snake swimming upstream. 🐍 (Did I do this right FP?) 🤣

Jughead Jones, juvenile delinquent, will he pay attention in class? Will he turn in that oral history report next week? Tune in next week on a very different show where kids actually go to school!

Of course the Blossoms were around when Riverdale was founded.

This covert meeting seems like it should be held somewhere much more closed doors than the Andrews dining room.

I’m sure I’m not the only one that felt that this delivery was very weird. Betty has not said a peep about her self harm to anyone except Jug, then she just blurts it out in a really unnatural way over eggs and toast. It’s like she just suddenly got a case of ‘notice me, senpai’ when it came to Chic. That was a dialogue fail.

Alice, mother of the year, ignoring this conversation entirely. “What? I didn’t hear you, more pancakes, lalalalla!” 🥞

🎶Secret Agent Man🎶 is secret.

Kevin thinks Chic is a hottie. I definitely don’t ship this. No Chevin for this girl. Even if it is a good ship name or.... Kevic?

Veronica is walking a fine line here, I am all for Jug/Veronica friendship... but with her now playing both sides against the middle, if Jug finds out, I don’t see that going well.

I really enjoyed the backstory on the founding of the Serpents. The Uktena tribe, the word being a horned water serpent, turning into the Serpents. Maybe my serpent swimming upstream comment was more apt than I realized?

Let’s dissect this into some of my reactions.

This is really cringey.

Hair color, depends on mood? Really? Dark Betty reference much?

Since when is that hair length medium? (I am unreasonably irritated by this.)

I can’t believe that profile is a thing. I am on a constant loop of cringing and laughing.

I don’t personally have any objection to (legal and of age) webcammers. To each their own. So I don’t object to his lifestyle. He has had it super tough, if he wants to do this, all is well that ends well. But that profile is cringe worthy.

Wrestler Kevin! (This is incidentally all I have to take out of this plot line.)

Kevin makes Archie look like a chump. Look at that chest definition!

Betty finds the caming fascinating? So she went down a rabbit hole of watching Chic’s videos? Or just cam videos in general? 🙄 This is a little weird. I am not here for this.

Archie and Hiram’s cock fight in front of Veronica is laughable. She is fiercer than both of them put together.

Betty Cooper will go to any length to protect someone she cares about, it’s a strength and a weakness. Chic better not take advantage of our soft muffin!!!

They are going hard on this.. Hiram is a hard ass to Archie story line, I don’t feel like foundation was laid out for this severity.

Cheryl is upset that her family was responsible for the atrocities of the past! Yes! More character depth for Cheryl! Thank goodness!

Chic... the dick. Listen. I like Chic, or I want to like Chic because I like Hart. But he isn’t really endearing right now. He calls out Betty saying she can’t be that nice to have just got him because he was her brother and for her mom. Um. That IS why she did it. 👏 Step back, son.

Betty wouldn’t have known about Chic’s “darkness” being like hers, why are they suddenly making it like she may have sought him out for that purpose all along? Plot devices.

Also, Betty is beautiful and all, but what clothes did they throw up on her this episode? I usually enjoy her style. But first that sweater and now overalls? What?!

Archie calling out Hiram saying he was there for Veronica when he was in prison. I mean.... he’s not wrong. ☕️

More sweaty Archie, “The Sweaty Archie” should be the new episode title.

Jughead being so passionate but still so sincere! “I had no right to- I had no right. I’m sorry.” This was great for his character. He has been rage, raging against the dying serpent jackets. It is good to see him fall back into his reason and sincerity at times too. We need a dynamic Jughead!

Chuck VS Archie, 🤼‍♂️ *mortal kombat voice* Fight!

They wouldn’t match up these two to get on a high school wrestling team. They are different weight classes, this is dumb.

By the way, I can’t stop thinking about this, is this supposed to be sexy? Spandex is never sexy. Unless it’s yoga pants. I can’t stop laughing at this.

I really loved Toni’s speech! It was powerful. I love that none of the men insisted on giving it either, Toni owned that.

Sweetpea did exude power up there backing up his friend though. BFF’s.

I really appreciate that Jughead wasn’t on the stage for this one. As Toni said before, it wasn’t his story to tell.

Jughead’s eyes are pure fire though. 🔥

I’m glad Grandpa gave him the stand down and save it for another day. Jug is damn well fearless. He isn’t scared of Hiram in the slightest. I am interested where this is going to go in future episodes.

Chic opened up to Betty and I’m glad they didn’t go super murder boy vibe.

Too bad it went creepy bad decisions vibe instead.

The only problem with using the same way to cope with her darkness, as he does with his, is he’s a WEE BIT older. 😓🤦

Listen, I am back to feeling Chic is taking advantage of Betty, in a lot of ways. Just look at both of their expressions. There is a lot to read there.

I am not comfortable with any of this.

I really appreciate that Jughead is in the dark diner while writing about this darkness of Betty’s. The cinematography in this scene is excellent.

Suddenly after that dumb wrestling match Hiram is taking Archie under his wing? And into the business? Really? Couldn’t he have saved a kitten from a burning building instead to win him over or something?

“Isn’t this something the Serpents would do?” With the statue? I don’t know. Jughead HAS done graffiti before. But that is pretty damn inflammatory. It could have been the Serpents. But it could have been Hiram “I’m a sneaky bastard” Lodge inflaming this civil war.

Filler episode is filling...... now with spandex!
