HCM Ring Smart Ring Product Features - Non-Invasive Blood Glucose Monitoring
Core Technology: The HCM Ring is equipped with advanced PPG sensors, combined with BGEM™ technology, allowing non-invasive monitoring of blood glucose levels through changes in blood flow at the wrist and finger.
No Blood Sampling Required: Users do not need to perform fingertip blood sampling, reducing pain and inconvenience, making it especially suitable for long-term monitoring and frequent testing.
BGEM™ (Blood Glucose Evaluation and Monitoring) is a new method for assessing and monitoring hyperglycemia levels. This method combines machine learning technology with wearable photoplethysmography (PPG) sensors, aiming to detect blood glucose levels non-invasively. The study was conducted by KK Women's and Children's Hospital in Singapore, recruiting a total of 500 participants. The effectiveness of the BGEM™ system was validated through comparisons with traditional blood glucose meters such as the Accu-Chek Performa. The study results showed that using the support vector machine (SVM) model achieved the best detection performance, with an average accuracy of 84.7%, sensitivity of 81.05%, specificity of 88.3%, precision of 87.51%, geometric mean of 84.54%, and F-score of 84.03%. This system is expected to aid in the early identification of diabetes risk and improve health management.
BGEM™ System Introduction
Technical Principle: BGEM™ uses PPG sensors to collect arterial blood flow fluctuation data and analyzes these data through machine learning algorithms to detect blood glucose levels. The PPG signal contains information on heart rate variability (HRV), waveform characteristics, energy measurements, and more, which can reflect vascular changes and blood glucose levels.
