Just out of curiousity... When it comes to a second muse, do we wait a full week before reserving or a full week before being accepted? I know some roleplays work different so I thought I should ask! ^^
Full week before acceptance! So, if you were here since opening, you’re totally free to reserve and apply now since you won’t be accepted until Saturday, when it’s been a full week since you’ve been accepted.

what is the open starter tag for this group
Good question, that totally slipped our mind! We’ll stick it in the rules now, but it’s hc.open!

just to get this right, if you and your partner thread, you both get three pokedollars at first replies right? and then an extra two to whoever started it? and then later on, another three for each of your fifth replies?
You’re close! But you actually get pokédollars for every thread post!
So for example, say I started a thread -- I get 3 for it being a thread post, then 2 for it being a starter, total 5. My partner replies, they get 3 for it being a thread post. You reply, you get another 3 for it being a thread post, and so forth.
For the whole “fifth replies” thing we have, that’s in general over all your thread posts! So, say in total I have 5 thread posts, maybe 1 solo, 1 starter, 3 replies, all to different people. On that 3rd reply that makes my total thread post count 5, I would get the 3 for it being a thread post, and then 2 for it being my 5th total thread reply.
While we’re here, we’ll clarify the “completed thread” too. That one just means when two muns decide to end a thread (i.e. no more replies to be made for that specific thread). So, say a partner and I have a thread called Halcyon where they’re out looking for pokémon or something -- once we’ve mutually decided to end the thread and move on to a new one, that’s considered completed. Just be sure that whoever replies last sticks something like “end of thread” at the bottom of their last reply, then both of you can go ahead and collect 2 extra pokédollars!
So, there are plenty of pokédollars to be made! Hopefully that all makes sense, please feel free to ask for more clarification if not!

ok this might be a dumb question but are medical practitioners for pokemon considered vets or doctors? if the latter, would they have to complete a residency like actual doctors?
They’d be the equivalent of vets! We’re admittedly not the most knowledgable about veterinary degrees, so please correct us if we’re wrong. But we believe that vets are still considered doctors because they require the veterinary equivalent of a medical doctorate. Regarding residency, we believe that yes they typically do one year of residency/interning under supervision of a qualified vet. So for our sake, we’ll say that yes they have to complete a residency for one year! If there’s anything specific you’re worried about regarding your muse’s schooling or whatnot, feel free to run it by us first!
EDIT: We would like to clarify this is for the pokémon doctors, not nurses!

hello! you've probably already answered this but i may have missed it but if our muse isn't a trainer ( or is a trainer but isn't planning on challenging the busan league ), do we still list all their pokemon under battling team? also if our muse is part of the pokemon beauty contest, then do we list the pokemon that will be participating in the contest under battling team?
Hello! If your muse plans on battling anyone at any point even if it’s not against the league, yes please still list them under the muse’s battle team!
As or the beauty contest team, this is a great question because we can understand wanting a different contest team and a different battle team since they both have different purposes. We’re a little unsure on which option is best, so we’ll actually be presenting a poll to you below, feel free to reply directly on the post or if you want to answer on anon, feel free to send us an ask!
Regarding contest teams, would you rather ::
Have a separate form on the app to have a contest team in addition to your battle team
Have just one battle team form that you can use for either contests or battling and just work towards splitting your team up that way (meaning, buying pokémon team expansions or member swaps)
Our issue is we don’t necessarily want to limit the teams you can use for contests or battling, but we also do want you guys to progress throughout the roleplay as opposed to having everything to start off with -- but we’re having a hard time striking a nice balance! So, if you guys have any suggestions please let us know, we would love to hear it. And hopefully we’ll come up with an answer for you by this evening.

i know you guys said not to give our muses a bunch of legendaries or shinies, etc but could our muse have at least just one shiny pokemon with a bunch of regular pokemon? as i was thinking of adding one shiny to their normal team?
Yep! If you really want to give your muse a shiny/legendary/mythical, then we would appreciate if you just start out with one. So either one shiny, one legendary, or one mythical, but not all three!

when it comes to pokemon typings you'd find in the district, does the pokemon gym need to reflect that? just as an example, the saha district is home to mostly fire & psychic type pokemon, but would it be okay for the gym leader have fighting type pokemon?
We ordered the gyms according to the types, so yes the pokémon gym does need to reflect the typing of the district!

I’m sorry if this sounds stupid, buf what is the difference between the Elite Four and the other elites of each region?
There’s no difference, they’re the same thing! The elites of the 4 regions all make up the Elite 4.

is there a maximum amount of pokemon one can have stored in their boxes? i'm asking because i'm planning on making a pokemon collector.
Not necessarily, no! In this situation it’d be fine to have an absurd amount. Please still limit the legendary/mythicals they have though!

not sure if it has been asked but can someone be a pokemon performer? thank you!
Yes, absolutely! We’d love to see a pokémon performer character!

Are there tropes members or admins would like to see? I really want to join but I'm struggling to decide on a muse ;~~;
Members, feel free to reply with some ideas for anon!
As for the admins, we’d love anything really! A couple groups could use more loving, for example pokémon police officers would be cute, someone working for BPF would be great too, maybe someone who lost their first pokémon through battling somehow and now they’re just kind of against the whole thing, trying to protest the league, etc. but of course it’s such a huge part of society so it’s difficult for them. Or to give other job ideas you could use to think up backstories for, someone who trains water pokémon like blastoise for firefighting, someone who trains service pokémon from emotional therapy growlithes/rockruffs, to seeing-eye pokémon, etc. A struggling artist with their assistant smeargle, some farmers would be cute (berry farmers or pokémon farmers that work with miltank, tauros, etc.)

Is it possible to have a character that's the child of a gym leader but the gym isn't stationed in busan or would it not fit the canon in halcyon?
That’s definitely possible! As you said, as long as the leader isn’t for a Busan gym (since we have actual muses playing those), then that should be fine!

Wait, I apologize because I read it wrong! I mean to ask how long has the national champion been champion?
Ah it’s no problem! We were just about to clarify that there’s no Busan Champion, just a National Champion, but we’re glad you caught that! As for your question, the current champion is new so they’ve only been the champion for 2017. If you want to make your character a previous champion please include the year (anywhere from 2016 and below), as well as what region they were the Elite for, since we do have a couple current previous Elite members and we’d like for none of that to overlap.
If you want to be extra sure, please run your proposed timeline, region, and etc. with us first before you write the entire bio so we can double check everything!

I’m v new to point based rps, what would you recommend is a good way to keep track of/organize point?
Primarily, we of course recommend a points page on your muse’s account. Then as far as organizing it goes, there are plenty of ways to do so! We give a few examples under the cut for anyone interested. However remember that these are just suggestions and we don’t claim they’re the best or only ways to do so, so feel free to organize however makes sense to you!
You can just list your transactions all in a row and then display a total at the end, for example:
character accepted / dec 16 / + 20 pkdgifts of delibird prompt completed / dec 17 / + 5 pkd purchased evolution item (moss rock) for jandi (eevee --> leafeon) / dec 18 / - 20 pkd--TOTAL / 5 pkd
Or if that’s too messy for you, you can maybe organize it by type, for example:
THREADS.posted 3 threads / dec 18 / + 9 pkdposted 1 starter / dec 18 / + 2 pkd-- thread total :: 11 pkd
TIMED PROMPTS.gifts of delibird / dec 18 / + 5 pkd-- timed prompts total :: 5 pkd
OPEN PROMPTS.mystery egg / dec 16 / + 5 pkd-- open prompts total :: 5 pkd
SITE. character accepted / dec 16 / + 20 pkdactivity check / dec 22 / + 5 pkd-- site total :: 25 pkd
BOUGHT.evolution item ( moss rock ) for jandi ( eevee --> leafeon ) / dec 9 / -20 pkd -- bought. total :: -20 pkd
COMPLETE TOTAL :: 26 pkd
We totally understand that, especially if you post a lot, it can be difficult/tedious to update your sheet every single time you post. So, as you can see in that example above, one way to make it less annoying, so to speak -- you can maybe just count up all your threads/points one time at the end of the day or the week or something and combine it however you like.
Given how often you can earn points, the page can definitely start getting realllllly long depending on how you have it organized, so if you would like to erase old points that have essentially already been spent, you can ask the admins to verify your points page, and once we look over it you can erase everything and start with a fresh page. Of course, all unused points will roll-over, so you would ideally need to do something at the top like:
PREVIOUS TOTAL VERIFIED DEC. 19 :: 26 pkd
And then just add on to it from there until you need to clear it up again, and repeat the process. We will keep track of who we verify and when!
An alternative to all that, if you are spreadsheet savvy you could also possibly start a google sheets if that’s easier for you than having to mess with tumblr’s page editor often. If you do, when we ask for points when buying things, just send us a public link for the spreadsheet instead, or a screenshot or something.
Again, these aren’t the only ways to keep track of your points so find what works best for you and run with it! If any other members made it this far down into the post, please feel free to reply to this ask or even send an ask/submit with other suggestions you might have!

do TMs exist in this au?
Yes, absolutely! They’ll work just like in game, it’s a disc that you insert into a TM collar/case, and magically the pokémon learns the move.
