What are you even supposed to say when someone asks you, “what was the best moment of your life?”

I have never been able to answer this question, until now. Here he was, my lover, the God of Mischief, adorned in Asgard’s finest apparel. I could feel nothing but love for this man as I approached him from the aisle; everyone else shut out so that it was only me and him. Him and I, until the end of time.

I finally reached the front of the golden hall, feeling perfectly content. Loki could do nothing but gawk at the woman standing in front of him. “Beautiful,” he managed to let out, in a voice so low that even the officiant couldn’t hear him.

“Good afternoon. Loki Laufeyson, y/f/n y/l/n, and I would like to welcome everyone on this gorgeous day,” the officiant welcomed everyone into the great hall located in Asgard, adorned in flowers and the most expensive decorations. “It’s because of all of you—because of this strong community—Loki and y/f/n’s relationship has strengthened and grown and led them to this very moment. Thank you for being here, now let’s begin.

“Loki and y/f/n, what you’ve accomplished here today is no small feat. Your journey began way before you sent out the invitations, chose this beautiful location, or even decided to spend the rest of your lives together.

“Your journey began the moment you first met. You took the time to learn what makes the other person smile, what makes them laugh, and how to best support them when life is less than simple. You welcomed each other’s families and friends and joined them together with warmth and enthusiasm. You built a new village with your love, and have worked every day to support this village as it changes and grows.

“Marriages bring hard days, just as they bring beautiful ones. This day is a reminder of what your love has already accomplished, and the amazing possibilities of what it can continue to accomplish and overcome in the many, many years ahead of you.

“Loki and y/n, please take each other’s hands and repeat after me. . . ” The officiant stated, turning to face Loki.

The way you looked in your Asgardian wedding gown, hair spun up beautifully, flowers delicately placed in each braid, and the smile taking over all of your features.

“Loki Laufeyson of Asgard, do you take y/f/n y/l/n, form this day forward, as your lawfully wedded wife?”

“I do,” Loki said, soft enough for only the three of you to hear.

“And y/f/n y/l/n, do you take Loki Laufeyson, from this day forward, to be your lawfully wedded husband?”

“I do,” you barely choked out, never wanting this moment to end.

The officiant continues with the ceremony; now moving on to the exchanging of the rings, “Loki and y/n have chosen these rings to represent the unbreakable circle of life and love. Please place them on each other’s ring fingers and repeat after me.

“I give you this ringー”

Loki and you took the rings from the ring bearer. You took the ring and placed it delicately onto Loki’s finger. He then repeated the action, taking your ring and placing it just as gently on your ring finger.

“I give you this ringー” you both repeated.

“it is with such joy that I now send you out into the world to spread the beautiful light that you share with those around you. By the power vested in me, I now, for the first time, pronounce you married,” the officiant finished off. “Now kiss and go celebrate!”

Loki waited for nothing; pulling you in by the waist and instantly connecting his lips to yours. You melted into his touch, bringing your hands up to cup his face as your lips melted together. He moved his hand up to gently caress the back of your neck. If it weren’t for the hundreds of eyes on the two of you, you would have stayed there forever. However, you had to pull away, “save it for tonight,” you whispered into his ear, resulting in a smirk from the god.

This movie was so pure. Marvel’s 4th movie (only 4th!!!) and they were finally hitting their stride. It’s the movie that sucked me into this universe and has kept me coming back ever since.

The movie tackled a larger than life story with larger than life characters but never took itself too seriously. It managed to tackle deeper plot points without being sappy or over the top. It set the foundation for amazing characters that we grew to love.

A multifaceted character that I instantly was drawn to and knew was something special.

Someone who has felt lost and maybe unsure of themselves, like so many of us have.

Someone who just wanted to belong, be needed, and be worthy.

(I remember this look was when I instantly was like, “OH HELLO. YOU CAN CONVEY SO MUCH WITH ONE LOOK. WHO ARE YOU?!?” 😍🤩😵) 👇

Someone who was lost and we were ready to see where their journey might take them.

Thankfully that journey is still continuing. I can’t wait to see what Loki’s journey will come to, ten years since he’s been introduced to us. 💚
