Silas! What made you want to be a doctor?

“Ah! Well, when I was little my..” He paused then, his smile slowly fading, he almost looked bitter. “My mother’s husband always told me I would never amount to anything. He said that I was a failure, and that I couldn’t do anything in life. So.. I strived to become the world’s youngest doctor, and I did, I believe. I was at least the youngest in my town. Being able to help people was just a bonus..” 

He smiled a bit then, turning away to begin cleaning his tools. 

“Then of course I killed my abusive father! He used o hurt my mother and younger siblings all the time, and I just couldn’t stand for that.”
