Here’s a small seasonal inspired one:

Peeta and Katniss carve pumpkins together: Peeta does rough sketches on each pumpkin before passing them off to Katniss handy-with-a-knife Everdeen who does the gutting: She likes the repetitive mindlessness of it. She’ll also start any big cuts on the design.

Then Peeta handy-with-[a]-knife Mellark does the detailed work. Nothing ‘spooky’ - detailed nature design and he’s definitely doing 3D carving, playing with cut depth and light. This part takes more time and concentration: Katniss loves to just sit and watch him work, which never ceases to surprise and flatter Peeta.

When the season’s over, Katniss takes up whittling. She uses branches and fallen trees in the forest - small pieces that fit in her pocket wherever she goes and keep her hands busy (she already always carries a knife): rustic figurines of cats, rabbits, squirrels, birds, whatever inspires. Something about reimagining new life into something discarded and left to decay.

She often gifts her creations to Peeta, who lines the kitchen windowsill with them, but one day while she’s getting some air behind the bakery, the delivery kid admires her work and she gifts it to him. She wonders if Finnick and Annie’s son would enjoy one too, so she whittles a fish and sends to four and then begins gifting her pieces to other children around the district.

Peeta takes up wood carving as well but in a different capacity. He carves designs on the banister and mantle, anything wooden inside their house is game for makeover. He eventually disassembles their bed and designs a forest landscape in the headboard.
