having a mental breakdown over the frontman of a band I don’t even like dying. it’s about the love it’s about a flag flying at half mast it’s about a rip in a family and the loss on a seismic scale for a tiny mighty culture. c’est si triste que des fois quand je rentre à la maison pis que j’park mon vieux camion j’vois toute l’amérique qui pleure dans mon rétroviseur etc etc
#having a queb moment#we suck so often at the policy scale but we also have such a specific lexicon and we’re the only ones who understand what’s happening#in our house and the neighbours think they know from looking through the windows but they don’t know anything about who we are together

New Arrivals! So, updates on the finch situation. Quebee turns out to be a male, but when we nabbed him back from the shop he was young and the colouring suggested a female.
Which means, I was allowed to keep little Quebs!
Which also means Quebee gets to get out of the temporary sick cage (he wasn’t sick, it was just the only cage I had at the time since he was only going to be there for a little while) and in to a full cage, yay!
He’s already back to singing and beeping along with the music that I keep on in Dax’s room. I’m so happy I get to keep him because I was already starting to get a bit attached even though he was only supposed to be a temporary houseguest. I have also gained ownership of two little Spice Finches that I’ve yet to name. I think the one on the right is a male and the one on the left is female but I don’t know for sure it’s just what I suspect based on how both have vocalized so far.
They are all in separate cages at the moment, but that will likely change in the future if their temperaments hold out. Still seeing
And of course there is Dax side-eyeing his new room mates. He actually does really well with the company, and the added stimulation has been great for him. The picture I caught was just mid-blink, no actual side-eyeing involved.
