im horribleee w remembering things i’ve watched tbh, especially movies T_T i watch a lot of baking and cooking competitions tho !

aside from that, my top non-anime shows!!

i loveeed the kdrama blind (the trailer is a bit gory just fyi)! it's a crime thriller, and the twists and turns are so interesting. very underrated watch tbh. i swear i never saw the ending coming. kinda wanna rewatch it now...

sweet home (another gory trailer sorry 😞) is another fave, and i highly recommend it to anyone who enjoys tokyo ghoul and honestly jjk as well. it's sci-fi horror, and the protagonist is walking the line between human and monster, trying to use his special position to save others while also being pretty self destructive...common themes in general (i still havent watched all of s2 but what i did see was pretty promising)

this one is pretty popular but i also enjoyed the glory a lot, i think i watched it in like two days? it was pretty good, definitely worth the hype

honestly my list of things to watch is way longer than my list of things i've already watched T_T i just can never get myself to sit down and watch things without serious hyperfocus

do i even need to explain this one? loyal to a fault, just a cute lil puppy, one hell of a sculpted archers back, and he's head over heels in love with Xie Lian (but tbh same) i have a lot of thoughts about him on a daily basis on this blog (and also theres the #fx backstory au tag)

2. Noé Archiviste (the Case Study of Vanitas)

the absolute bestest boy of EVER... with a LOAD of unprocessed trauma (yknow the typical stuff like seeing your childhood bff get decapitated in front of you) and a lot more to come once we find out how he kills his boyfriend best friend, Vanitas...

hated reading as a child... HATED it... picked up the og trilogy when i was 12 and i was a goner. The funny thing is i still hated reading for YEARS up until i picked up the prequel novel then in 2020, and now ive read all of tgcf, 2ha, and more fanfic than i could ever imagine... all because this stupid boy (i love him) chose to trust the WORST person as his friend, rip sejanus my baby

Orlando Bloom my beloved) River's story was a stroke of absolute GENIUS from start to finish and i simply love how Alex Kingston played her...

look... theres *gojo girlies* uwu and then theres GOJO GIRLIES... i couldn't give 2 shits about how he's fan-serviced (tho im not complaining) but have you SEEN the amount of grief pumped into that man? he could explode in a fit of fucking insanity at literally any moment and take the whole goddamn world down with him bc what happened with suguru WASNT FAIR to him and satoru has more than enough power to go apeshit... but he DOESN'T... even after losing so many of his co-sorcerers... he still puts on a brave face to the end in order to protect the childhood of his students even tho his own youth was stolen from him during hidden inventory...

10. Levi Ackerman (Attack on Titan)

i read the manga during my last year of uni and when i tell you i SOBBED at the end... yes ofc for obvious reasons, but mostly bc my little Levi loses EVERYTHING. He is the SOLE survivor of the veteran scouts. He's missing multiple fingers, an eye, and the ability to walk. He was the strongest (yowaimo) but wasn't even granted the mercy to die at the end of his narrative! Broke my fucking heart.

aw thank you! well i mean you follow me so. you have seen my absolutely soul consuming obsessions with JJK and Trigun. For Trigun I have an optimal consumption order and content warnings for both anime and the manga in my newsletter where I wrote about it here:

For JJK, I recently showed it to a few friends + am rereading the manga rn myself and I suggest:

season 1

season 2 eps 1-7 (hidden inventory prequel arc + shibuya arc setup)

JJK 0 (the movie that takes place a year before season 1. just TRUST me with this)

season 2 eps. 8-onwards (shibuya arc onwards)

once you're caught up on the anime, catch up on the manga (including JJK 0, the original standalone story that is now a "prequel volume")

for both of these both the sub and the dub are great. for JJK you can watch the dub and switch over the subs when you get to the more recent episodes that havent been dubbed yet. (i suggest doing JJK first so you can catch up and suffer every week in the shibuya arc with us since it's currently airing). neither of these is very long.

i also wrote about GWitch, which I think was one of the best anime of this past year, and which you can enjoy without knowing anything about Gundam:

and then there's quite obviously Spy x Family, which truly is as good as everybody says it is. catch up on the anime so you can watch s2 along with us rn while it airs (the movie comes out in december!) and then you've got plenty of manga to read to keep you happy. Buddy Daddies also lives up to the hype and was phenomenal.

i have many many more suggestions but that depends on your taste and what you're looking for and have already seen. if you're interested in adaptations of chinese webnovels, you can start with the Big Hitter, MDZS which i also wrote about:

i have!! ive watched season 1 and i read up to there + saw the movie and read jjk0. havent touched it since cos of brain reasons but ive been keeping up the spoilers :D i loved the monster designs that was the reason it stuck out to me i liked the darker tone for a shounen.

gojo does nothing for me i hate that man. im a nanamigirl i ship gojo with nanami in an entirely non romantic way. nanami does not like him at all and gojo is caught up in his whole geto drama but i just thought their dynamic was so funny. but im not a nanamigirl in the "i want him to raw me" way thats so. eugh. have some class the lot of you.

my favourite part was the femslash i LOVE maki shes my favourite character. loved that they made mai have a lesbian experience in that one post credit scene. nobara🫶 i like maki x nobara<3

the tournament arc kinda put me off the series anytime they do shounen tropes im like god can we get back to the gore please.
