Miho's backstory and character information/intro

This post is entirely OOC and there are trigger warnings for it and the rest of the blog in general, those being of bullying, abuse, child neglect, attempted murder of a child and a lot of talks of medical stuff. of course all these issues will be treated seriously and respectfully by me, while unlikely if any jokes are made about this in character please know that it is not me treating the topics like jokes. If any of this is triggering you don't have to read, it will all be under a read more section.

Ever since she was a young child Miho was very weak, being in and out of hospitals since she was a toddler which caused her parents to slowly resent her as she cost them so much money. this got worse until, one night her parents tried to suffocate her because she had become too much effort and money for them.. of course this lead to her being put in a child care program and while there her life was hell, as a lot of the other children there used her as a punching bag, especially the older boys who would hurt her the most, finding it funny as she got hurt far easier than anyone else and couldn't fight back even if she tried.. some people did care about her, but most didn't as she was unable to do most things without getting tired or sick..

While she was kept alive and technically taken care of, the staff at the place she stayed were awful, with them not having the proper money or care to actually be able to help her, and several simply didn't bother with Miho in the first place, figuring that she was going to die anyways and it wasn't there problem to help her.. others did take care of her, but her complaints about being hurt, were left alone, "she was just being sensitive" they said.. and she didn't have the heart to fight back, she didn't want to cause problems.. after all her parents had already grown to hate her.. and she didn't want it to happen again.. she'd rather just disappear than that..

There was one time where the abuse went too far, with one of the boys hurting her so badly that one of her ribs broke and pierced her lung.. after that she was rushed to the hospital, where as they were treating her they found far more things wrong with her body, with one of the nurses wondering how she'd even survived this long.

Since then she's been stuck in a hospital, never being able to leave or make friends that stayed around, with the few she did make always leaving the hospital after a while.. her treatment is expensive, so she's had to pick up something to do to make money, so she's picked up poetry, which people pay her enough money for either because they like it, they want her to write something for them, or sometimes they want to actually see her read it live, which the hospital rarely allows much to her disappointment.

Dove: Fairly self explanatory, she's able to do most things a dove could, with the exception of flying, as her body isn't strong enough to have her grow proper wings. her quirk is also the cause of the bird wings she has in place of her ears, she can still hear out of them about as good as normal ears tho.

General Info about her and what to expect when interacting

Miho's info: She's 22/23 (22 at the start of the series, and around the middle of the series she turns 23), she's a demigirl and uses she/they, she's biromantic and demisexual, and her favorite hero is Hawks.

When interacting

Miho isn't great at talking with people, she's generally a bit odd and nervous as she doesn't really talk with people outside of the hospital staff, however she will try to talk with anyone, even villains as she's not super aware of a lot of stuff that's happened with them

she gets attached to people very quickly if they're nice to her, and doesn't fully understand a lot of how she's supposed to feel about things

they don't like speaking about their past unless they're close to someone, and speaking about what she's been through is generally very triggering for her

she admires heroes more than anything and wishes she could be one too as they think it's the most wonderful thing someone could do, but of course she's not able to due to their illness

most of her knowledge on how the world works is from movies or the bits of the news she's seen, meaning sometimes she'll say stuff that comes off as super odd or just slightly concerning, especially since she's seen a lot of horror movies

so a long time ago now i wanted to like, cut off from twitter, so i deleted the kaleidosouls twitter, and wanted to keep my art stuff just on insta mostly, trying to move since twitter is a sinking ship right. then my instagram got deleted for no reason (and so did my pinterest that was ful of refs and honestly that was more upseting than insta getting deletedand losing all my art following)

pete's hair is indeed streaky in some art! they're trauma streaks, pete got caught by hunters (shifting phases' premise), and he survived and escaped with the help of his friends, but not before having his whole life destroyed :)

pre trauma, pete's hair is solid auburn and kept short, he still has the jaw scar

post trauma, he's covered in scars and his hair is streaky, it also grows out because he cant cut it and wont let anyone cut it because he has big issues about the sight of blades and their proximity to him :) (in terms of scars, 95% (i say that coz i havent written out the Torture yet so i might do some fun unexpected unforseeable things ehe) of the ones that are relevant to bust-shots are already mapped out on the ref sheet :) )

and! indeed he has lil teefs! they're not big or long or anything, but they're definitely there and definitely pointier and sharper than a human's canines :) i drew them a few months back, im a stranger to teeth so everything may look right on the surface, but there may be technical issues 8) his teeth appear normal aside from the canines, and then he's got those standard, surprisingly pointy human pre(?)molars, but the canines just make em look extra sharp lmao

oh! and claws, pete has claws, i have 0 idea if you or i mentioned, or if it's on his profile (i cant save an ask as a draft unfortunately and i cant open tabs on the mobile so im really living ip to my name lmao), but he has claws! they are very fun :) they look and grow like regular human nails except that they're very much in the shape of sharp claws with a sharp edge. what he used to do, again, when he could stand the sight of blades was, very literally carve them into the shape of human nails. he can't do that after his trauma :)))))

Mochi is a sweet, hardy, patient girl who stands her ground, and becomes very serious and intimidating in a fight. She has a big heart by nature and tries to help people as much as she can. Everyone thinks she's a bit odd initially, but she tends to leave a good impression on everyone she meets.

On the normal side of her life, Mochi is a standard high school student and works in her mother's sweets shop called ‘The Mochi Shoppe’ (named after Mochi) in the afternoons. She likes cooking/baking, ceramics, journaling/scrapbooking, and literally anything that is light pink. Most of her social time is spent with her best friend Lime, who lives across the street from her, and who shes known since they were 5.

found a neat instagram acct with lots of good varied photography of (usually nude) fat people, its called corpscools and theyre a belgium fat activist, i find it very nice for body studies. other fat body references i use in case ppl wanna know are the morpho fat and skin folds book (if u havent seen it yet u simply need to) and clothing shop sites that have fat models (good for clothed body refs and fun poses with fat bodies, i like big bud press personally). if anyone else knows sites or accounts with varied models i would love to hear them, besides fatphotoref (which i believe is good but i just havent found the confidence to apply for the password yet) or any other pose site that has ALL types of models, not focused on fat ppl specifically (i like artistic ones that have many varied fat people better, bc i am trying to study different body shapes and movements rather than simply posing)

Some lonely days, but i would go in these museums and see these paintings, long dead artists and these paintings were still moving me. Felt like a human game, leaving things behind for people to understand. Shorter answer, people and animals that i paint. Series “naked and famous”, all people i know that stand live. Born 47 BBY- 28 yrs old by Episode 3 Height: 5'6" (1.68m) (here's to hoping i grow 3 inches taller by the time im 28 lmao) Pronouns: She/ Her Specialty:   -Cloaking: with enough concentration, she can trick other's into not being able to see her physically and thus turning invisible. -Sense: She's incredible at sensing the emotions of others amongst hyper sensitivity to other things. Battle Style: Mostly defense. Longer lightsaber. Holds it forward. Large swings. Many maneuvers and spins. Stronger to Force than to combat. Personality: tame, level headed, responsible, respectful, obsessive, determined, weak to flattery (I havent watched the Clone Wars or Rebels yet, so some things might change whenever i get more info.) BG: Rhea was born on the planet of Mirial. Her mother passed away some time after her birth and her father, who couldn't raise her by himself, gave her away to an orphanage of sorts. Rhea was much too young to remember them but later accepted her life peacfully in her new home. She was 4 years old when she met a Togruta Jedi Master who was visiting Mirial for a short period of time on a job. Upon meeting the Jedi, who seemed to have spotted hidden talent in the child, Rhea's curiosity about the Force and how it worked made them grow close to the point that they were inseparable at the time. A few weeks in of the Jedi's visit, she had found herself being told by the Mirialan headmasters that she was to be transported with said Jedi to another planet to begin her training. That Jedi Master was Zinto Ailé.

Unbeknownst to Rhea, through Zinto's strong ability to sense complex energies and fluctuations in the Force, she had felt the threat of a waging war between Mirial and some other party. Zinto's fear of losing Rhea and her potential, struck the Master enough to have her ask permission to bring the soon-to-be student from her home world to Coruscant.

Zinto returned to the Capital and requested the Council for two things; having the young child study in the Temple, and to one day be the Master to fulfill Rhea's Jedi training into knighthood. They agreed for the first but insisted that for the second, Zinto would have to wait. At the time, the Master had been teaching her 13 year old Padawan, Lu, so she was left with no choice but to have Rhea study for many years on Coruscant until her current Padawan became a knight. Somewhere between those years, Rhea had heard that Mirial had gone to War, but with it, the news that Zinto had gone to fight alongside them.   At the age of 13, she became the Padawan of Master Ailé. There were many problems that surfaced from having Rhea's Master be non-Mirialan and go against the tradition. However, Zinto had spoken to Master Yoda and he saw that under her teachings, Rhea would become well learned. Through all their training and time spent together, Zinto fails to touch on the subject of 'the Mirialan War' and Rhea's knowledge of it all is still very vague.

Once she was 23, she became a full Jedi Knight. Many of her missions were partnered up with, who she considered practically her sibling, Lu. She only carried out so many objectives for the Jedi Council until 2 years later, the Clone Wars began where Rhea immediately joined military forces as a Jedi General. General Kenobi had offered to train her on his own missions until she was prepared to command the clones herself. She and Obi-Wan had known each other since she had first come to the Temple as a child. They spent time together as good friends until they would have to go their separate ways, him becoming a Master and training Anakin, and her becoming a Padawan. Rhea spent months grasping as much experience as she could before she was confident enough to be called General Rhea. Much of her time was spent on the battlefield more than anything. During those years, she failed to keep in contact with neither Lu or Zinto. She plans to see them, once the war is over and in hopes that they understand. Her clones change from time to time, but her main clone soldier and friend is Commander Kollin.

(Both a piece of my mom's last name, which I tend to use a lot, and the straight up pronunciation of real last name) -Rhea has almost no sense of personal space and sometimes touches peoples faces or hair out of the blue. She finds no awkwardness in touch. -She likes braiding people's hair as a sign of intamacy. (Platonic or romantic) The longer you keep the braid together, the better she believes the relationship is. -I'm making her a hugger because??? I love hugs so?? -She hates office politics. The war she understands, but she'd rather be shot in battle than listen to a debate in the Galactic Senate Chamber. I've had this sona and the supporting characters in my pocket for MONTHS now and its taken me forever because drawing fullbodies and writing coherent backgrounds are the bane of my existence. The good thing to come out of this tho is that I've drawn a shit ton of sketches and images about these characters that I get to bombard everyone once all the info's out yay! this is the sorta question that for future reference i’d prefer answering on my main, since thats where most of my art gets posted, but sure i can give it a shot! im not an expert though and tbh a lot of it is years of trial and error having given me a lot of lessons 

okay so one of the ways ive learned is really useful for the trial and error part of learning how 2 colors is to do a SUPER loose conceptual version of a picture

heres a couple examples of those from files i havent gotten around to finishing yet 

this stage should, again, be super rough, because the important thing at this point isnt details and its not at all getting eveyrthing to look just right; its more like a step up from a thumbnail image, and helps you really get a good look at two things: composition and colors

and because everythings very rough and loose at this stage, its much easier to play around trial and error-wise and you can learn a lot without having to spend much time fighting w/ more complex layers! it makes it very easy to make sure early on your colors arent clashing or anything etc

another thing i do a lot with scenes w/ very strong color schemes, like these two, is that i’ll change the base colors, like in a well lit scene w/out any heavy colors overlaying most of it i’ll be careful to pick exact colors off the ref sheets i have, but on more dramatic ones i’ll change the base colors to match the overall color of the piece more 

you can see that on that second example pic but for another example (esp since you specifically mention dark scenes) ill bring back that one pic of dirk catching dave testing floorboards 

heres what that picture looks like minus any shading and color correction 

ok i left the shading on for the background but the backgrounds literally nothing but gradients i got lazy sue me

basic tricks for dark scenes: colors are gonna be desaturated overall, which is why the base colors on everything in this picture are very much gray-blues, and if you wanna make the picture really look nighttimey and dark without it being impossible to see whats going on, some desaturated blue overlay layers are helpful! 

see look thats not even w/ the shading back on but it looks very moonlightish and thats just with an overlay circular gradient between two shades of blue 

(make sure its blue blue though, and throw in some purples if you want; no cyan blue or it’ll look too much like daytime!) 

it also helps to choose a color palette when you start out; how closely you stick to that palette is up to you but it can help!

Bright is just el waking up from being asleep all night i guess? more like after passing out from exhaust. Bright, a being of bioluminescence, has often found it difficult to get some decent shuteye, due to being really bright. id like to see you try to sleep with glowing eyes and eyelids. actually no thats creepy i do /not/ want to watch you sleep.

but yeah bedtimes aside, Bright is just waking up this morning, actually fairly well rested. he goes to the bathroom and brushes his freakin teeth and all and uh.

so he gets dressed in Proper clothes (that you cant really see anyways because Bright is just too effin bright) and steps out of his room

bright: ok so what was the plan for today

Bright only a little bit talks to himself like only for remembering things or like when youre watching the movie and the character is alone and hes talking to himself so the audience knows what hes thinking. you know what i mean?

you've mentioned that you have a mic, yeah? what kind do you have? how well is it? im trying to buy one for va stuff but i have absolutely nowhere to start skjhgdsfd

so when i first got obsessed with voice acting, i did a lot of research.

and then i realized i also needed a usb audio interface so the wacky wires could connect to my computer so i once again found the cheapest decent one. at first I was really hoping I wouldn't need one, but in researching I learned a lot of confusing stuff about xlr cables (confusing because I hadn't yet seen one in front of me). anyway, I learned that each end is labeled as "male" and "female" and that shit is still hilarious to me. comphet wires teehee. eventually, I realized there was no other way to connect this stuff to a computer because converting analog to digital data is a pain (I did know that bit from ap comp sci but like. i didn't want to believe it applied here lmao). (FYI, I learned this by sheer luck but if you get this with a condenser mic, be sure to click the little 48v button every time you need to use the mic):

you may have noticed if you've clicked these links that it's still pretty expensive. unfortunately, there's really not much that's cheaper but good enough quality. im terrified of spending money so this was not a good sign to me lmao. my advice: dig around for old amazon gift cards and remind your parents of birthday/holiday gifts they never got you + the fact that this could potentially be a source of income.

the one thing i still need to figure out is like. where to put this stuff. right now its attached kinda poorly to my desk but it's not the best location for recording. i also need some foam to make stuff sound better.

Car Insurance Cost in NYC?

I have a question regarding car insurance. I'm 29 years old. I've been in 3 car accidents but was not at fault for any of them (2 of the times my car was sitting still! lol) and I've never gotten a ticket for any of those accidents. I used to have insurance through State Farm, full coverage for a 2004 Jeep Liberty that cost 50-60 a month in upstate NY. While driving to NYC one winter I got a speeding ticket, my first ticket ever! I was going I think 82(?) in a 65. This was just before I moved to NYC, and because I got the ticket in a podunk little county I was driving through I had no idea what the name was, the ticket flew out my door and I lost it. I figured they would mail me something else to tell me the payment was late but I never received anything else about it. Well I found out later it was because I moved, even though I moved about 2 months after the fact they wait quite a while to send another notice, and I never received it. Thus, my license was suspended but I never knew. I never got caught driving without it either. So I moved here in 2007 with my Jeep which I was very behind payments for, and then it got towed away for alternate side parking BS. I could have borrowed the money back then to pay to get it out but I let it go. Alright so long story short, I don't have the truck, it was auctioned. I'll be done paying for it through a collection agency settlement offer this May. If I had kept the truck, I would be paying 200+ more a month than I pay now, and I wouldn't have been done paying it til August 2011. Plus I would have had to pay to catch it up the 3 months I was behind, plus pay my boyfriends brother back who was willing to lend me the money to get it out of the car jail (lol) I had the suspension lifted last July so I could rent a car, again no issues. So I'm thinking of buying a 2,000 car (cash! I learned my lesson) in June when I'm done paying for the truck and I want to get no fault insurance. I know it will be a lot more here then what I used to pay, and in addition I now have a suspension that wasn't there before. I had an accident a few months back which I was not at fault but caused my car to be written off, I bought a new car yesterday and wrang up my insurance company who said that since I had an accident that to change the insurance over to this car for my remaining 4 months insurance would cause my insurance to go from 166 a month to 240. The car is a lower insurance group so it shouldnt have changed my insurance. I don't understand why I have to pay more? If my car hadn't been written off my insurance wouldn't have increased until the following 4 months so how come when I change my car they decide that I have to pay so much extra a month now?""

Your never to old to change I am a huge believer in change, hell at the end of every blog, my hashtag is "Be the change you want to see" Be the change, change  your life, your attitude, your relationship, your career, anything that is not bringing you happiness, change! Do you know a recent study said that 85% of people are misrable in their jobs. 85 % that's huge! These people hate going to work every day, 5 days a week, 52 weeks a year, how bad is that? I'll bet if there was a poll about relationships, there would be way more that aren't happy. Yet we stay, we stay misrable, unhappy, unfulfilled, year after year because most of us are afraid of change. I raise my hand I was scared, I liked my big lifestyle, I didn't want to struggle, I didn't think I could do it on my own after so many years. This person who was crippled by fear, has had so many changes in the last 6 years it would make your head spin. And just when I think I'm good, I learned the lessons I needed to, I am good at where I am at, Bam! Something else changes and I need to learn more lessons. Just recently, I realized that as an addict, I have those qualities to become addicted again, maybe not with my addiction of choice, cocaine, but with other addictions, for me it's been abuisve men. From one abuisve man to another, over and over, this addiction that I have picking these types of men. So I could either blame them and go on with my life with my head up my ass or I could admit that it is my issue and try to work on it. An ex said some horrible things to me after I decided not to give it another try with him recently. I was hurt, I wanted to lash out and say "How dare you say this!" But I stopped and looked at all he was saying and asked myself, what if any, was the truth here? I made myself become brutally honest and take a deep look and see what I owned. Turns out I needed to own a bunch of shit, I did get angry fast, I think everyone should have my heart and do what I would do and then get mad when they don't. I do have some lasting issues from my verbally abuisve marriage, these are my issues that I obviously havent addressed. So I made a change, I went back to AA, to work the steps, to make sure I never slide back to my old addictions. I also found a counselor and a support group for abused women as I need to figure out steps to change this destructive behavior. Who knew at this age I'd still be learning, growing and changing but the one thing I have learned is If you don't have an opened mind, if your not willing to change, if your stuck in your ways, you will become stagnant and you will die. Just like the flowers, in the fall they need to die to come back to life in the spring, we need to kill parts of ourselves to regrow, to change, to become better. The first steps to change is to admit you need help, admit you have a problem, to say I want to change because this isn't working for me anymore. So here I am raising my hand saying these are my issues and I want to change because I refuse to keep doing what I am doing. Because I can't write this blog saying own your worth when I am not owning mine. I can't keep saying it's their problems, not mine, when it is clearly me who keeps picking them and letting them into my life. So here I am my friends, open and raw for everyone to see that no, you are not alone, we all have issues even when it seems we have it all together. We just need to be truthful, take a deep look and own your shit and then deciede enough is enough and make a change...see your never to old to change...
