@hateweasel I think I may post a couple a little more quickly bc I have so many and I like sharing this stuff
(On the subject of Preston being hit)
My friend: Hey, better him than my ship at least...
Me: He got hit trying to shield Kris actually, so you should be more grateful
My friend: WELL DONE PRESTON!! DIE FOR THE SHIP!!
Me: NOO 💀 Anyways Cielois is reunited finally
My friend: Finally! Now everyone get out of there, before someone actually important dies!! (Sorry, Preston)
Me: Why this costant bullying towards Preston? 💀
My friend: Poor Preston...its nothing personal, i just have different priorities...
(Also to be fair with my friend...that was like, the first time I ever told her about Preston, since I began the commentary quite late and at that point most of Preston's more centered arcs had gone by..so she didnt know anything about him yet, just that he was one of the 7 and wounded)
-My friend, after i told her about Preston being poisoned by the Black Annis and the fact that he will most likely die much sooner than the others and we talked a bit about his situation: This entire last part of the arc has been SUPER sad tho...
Me:Yeah...at least the Cielois Reunion was wholesome?
My friend: And we also got the KrisDan kiss...And neither Kris nor Dan died, so it's a victory on all fronts!!
Me: I mean the battle is still going on strong 💀
My friend: ...Guess i spoke too soon then
-There was this entire discussion Metus and Alois were having while fighting and they were snapping at eachother while throwing hands and it left me Flabbergasted because it was the weirdest battle trash talk i ever read in my life. It was all about Alois talking about his relationship and Metus suggesting a restaurant for their anniversary (Wich is also the one at the beginning of Devils like to Prove...wich also left me Flabbergasted but in a much less amused way, seeing the shit Metus pulled later on during their fight at the end of DLTD...)
- I stopped with my thoughts on DLTD and just began with the DLTP ones? I probably didnt have too much to say to her considering it was so much action and stuff...
-Began saying that i would have laughed more about Alois actually going to that restaurant if not that remembering the guy made me uncomfortable because of the shit he did.
-Me: So...while reading DLTD, i asked the author a list of spoiler free memes. One of them was a name [for context, it's Baldassere] and as I began this and heard the name for the first time i was like "Oh he must be a villain that's why he's a meme" but no actually now I met him and it's because he's a fucking idiot
-Mentioned Sister Dorothy to my friend and I was immediately stanning her SO MUCH.
-My friend was asleep when I read like the first 26 chapters or smth of DLTP (it was night) so she caught up with my texts when she woke up. The one i really want to mention first is this scenario she made up when I told her that KrisDan confessed but Kris insisted on Dan breaking up with Anastasia before they got together (She also joked in the past during DLTD that they hadn't been together for a long time or even at all and Dan just didn't get it):
Dan: Ana, i gotta tell you something...
Ana: Shoot, bro.
Dan: We can't be together anymore, because I'm actually gay and like your brother.
Ana: ...bro we haven't been together for MONTHS. I'm about to marry Lawrence, i even sent you an invitation...I also call you bro because I know you're with my brother. Do you mean to tell me you're not actually together yet?!
Dan: ...Ah

Was just thinking about how in C2 DELTARUNE theres a door in queens palace that leads to a room queen designed for asriel but kris wont let us, the player, see it. And that got me thinking, so I thought I'd share the fan theory that came out of it. I'm not fully convinced by this since we'd need more information but I think it logically follows and I'd like to share. So, stop reading past this point for major spoilers of secret stuff and easter eggs.
In chapter 1, theres a lot of talk around town about asriel, his friends who haven't gone to college yet, or aren't going to, miss him and tell us a lot about him. About how he was helpful, kind, supportive, he easily made friends with everyone. Kris doesnt have many friends their age because they were always following Asriel around. We know that Asriel is supposed to be coming home from college soon in a week, and each chapter is roughly a day so we're counting down to Asriel coming home.
I'd like to also preface with the observation that Gaster, or atleast the goners seem very present in the light world around hometown. Temmie has an egg which they say is their partner, which seems like a call back to the hard boiled egg in undertale, but what if instead, it's the man behind the tree seen later in the dark world which is the only source of eggs as an item. Theres also the striped bird in the library, which greatly resembles a goner from undertale.
And lastly, near the bunker that you cant enter, if kris stands near it in chapter 1, it begins playing ominous music which has been associated with Gaster.
Now that we've got all that out of the way, I'd like to pose a question: what if something happened to Asriel?
What if something happened to asriel when they last came back from college, leading to asriel dying, potentially near the bunker? And kris, so distraught was willing to do everything in their power to undo it? We can see gasters tendrils through the light world, especially concentrating around the bunker. If he reached out to kris or vice versa, and kris begged them to fix it, gaster could have made a faustian bargain with them, and taught them how to open dark worlds that are manipulated by his desire when he opens them, and he could create a vessel for Asriel. But in the meantime, Kris needed to incubate asriel, or the cost of plucking asriels soul from the aether was kris's soul, and we're playing as Asriel possessing kris. And Ralsei is the intended vessel, extra indicated by the heart on ralseis robes. Kris might be avoiding developing feelings for ralsei as an individual knowing what the outcome will be, but needs Asriel to love Ralsei to cement the connection later, assuming love of the vessel, something mentioned very early into the vessel creation, could be what ties a soul to a new body. It also makes ralseis name make more sense.
I feel like kris and Ralsei are indeed up to something that we dont know about, considering Ralsei talked to kris in the cutscene without us knowing what they said. And from spamton we know that lightner souls are powerful, and if [heaven] is the light world, then a lightner soul could make a darkner into a lightner.
It could also add an extra level of horror to the genocide and snowgrave situations, considering that kris didn't know his brother was capable of that kind of evil, and that maybe subverting the natural law was a mistake, asriel becoming a vengeful wraith, lashing out at being denied peace and destroying kris' life, not remembering who they were.
If pacifist it also makes sense how easily we the player befriend everyone. It's incredibly out of character for kris, but not for asriel. And why kris' room in the dark world looks more like asriels side of the room which makes me think that if true, Ralsei may be in on his own annihilation. Because darkners are meant to serve a purpose and cant deviate beyond reasonable limitations. And to come full circle, maybe the reason kris is hiding things about asriel from the player is that the player is asriel, and if that realization comes to early, we'd be lost as we completely disassociate from kris.
And it would also tie into the themes of overcoming loss present in undertale. In undertale it was Asriel who couldnt accept charas death and everything was set in motion by his inability to accept her death or harm others, and everything ended when she possessed frisk and led him to help asriel overcome his grief. This time it would be charas counterpart, kris, unable to accept his brothers death, and brought him back, willing to sacrifice as many other people as it takes to regain what was lost.
Like I said I'm not completely sold on this yet but I thought it was interesting and would fill in some holes left by the story so far. We'll need more information to verify but it definitely seems like something toby would do, based on undertale. We'll have to see how it shakes out.

Some thoughts on Deltarune Chapter 2
This is gonna be a really overly long post that includes my thoughts of, theories and review for Chapter 2 of Deltarune in the Pacifist(?) route, so be careful of spoilers in case you haven't played the game yet. Let's start!!
(Honestly I cant stress enough how long this blog entry ended up being.
TLDR: I liked the chapter, I love Queen as a character and I have several questions and theories about our trio of protagonists: Kris, Susie and Ralsei. We continue the topic of "your choices don't matter" from Chapter 1 but we also get a new spin to it. Overall, worth the time waiting.)
If you wanna read the whole thing I wrote, it's under the cut.
I really like this chapter. It was really funny and full of new information about the world, the characters and what will the story probably look like moving forward. The puzzles where great, too: I'm happy we can see a wider variety of them now that Toby Fox is working with a team and not alone. This also applies to the animations and cutscenes, there are a lot and somehow it doesn't fill like it has more than it should. I like the whole RECRUIT mechanic and I think it gives us the choice to, more or less, have different endings or at least diverse playthroughs and it's still within the theme of Undertale that "you don't have to kill anyone". I haven't checked the Snowgrave route yet, but I'm guessing the ending to the chapter where Kris stabs the earth is still kept.
— The Characters
I liked the characters in this chapter more than in the first one, SPECIALLY Queen. Oh my god, Queen. She's the best and I love her and I was so so happy everytime she appeared on screen, so over the top, over dramatic and an agent of chaos. I also love the sound she makes when she speaks, it reminded me to Hooty from TOH and that just made it funnier. The enemies design was really good, I think my favourites are the Swatchlings, they're like big buttler birds and they're honestly precious. The Werewires were really cool too (took me a minute to get the pun in their name) and Sweet, Cap and K_K were a delight... but there was one.
ONE enemy. That I HATED with ALL my SOUL. I don't wanna talk about him.
About our main cast, I love how much we get to know about Noelle. Since last chapter she seemed to be an important character and now we know yes, in fact, she will probably be relevant for the main plot. She seems to have some kind of trauma and her family sounds complicated, so I expect to see more of it in the future. It was really interesting that talk she has with Kris about how they're like childhood friends and makes me wonder what made them fell apart. I don't have much to say about Berdly, he started annoying but became fun later on, and when he tells Noelle he's starting to have a crush on Susie I laughed super hard.
Our main trio where the more interesting ones, tho.
— Susie, Ralsei and Kris
Susie surprised me a lot, doing whatever she wanted on multiple ocasions and leaving us, the player, without the chance to make a choice. This also translates to her having the main focus on very important scenes: confronting Queen, saving Noelle, deciding we're not giving up, etc. We get the first change of POV from Kris to her, something that I don't remember hapening before, and well, it all made me think two things:
One, she really is the Hero of the story. We as Kris may be the protagonist, the POV, but she's clearly the one with the values and attitude of a hero character.
Two, Deltarune is different to Undertale in that we are told our choices don't matter here, and I think this chapter really helped in showing that.
A lot if the times we don't have the opportunity to make a choice because Susie takes leadership, and even when we are oresented with a choice she won't listen, like in the ferris wheel or when she goes ahead with Ralsei. Things are out of our control, which seems to be a theme here.
Ralsei was...interesting. I'm concerned about wether or not he's supposed to be Kris' brother or what because of the swan boat scene like a lot of people (was it supposed to be platonic or romantic I need to know), but more than that he was kinda...
Meta? Near the end he talked to Kris about how he didn't have to do everything "right now", that he could Save and then "come back later", he mentioned the classroom near the locker room to bring everyone back at the beginning even tho we have never seen him go there, he gets flustered when Susie does things on her own challenging the usual way the game is played, and the "let's close our eyes and imagine what Susie is doing" right before a cutscene to change perspective seems oddly convenient.
"Off" is the perfect word to descrive my feeling. Nothing seemed wrong with him, just... Off. Weird. In the first chapter he seemed to be a nice, naive and pacific person, but now it starts to give me some vibes like he's playing the role of one.
"I just wonder what... being Ralsei-like even is...?"
Idk if there's a theory of this already, but I'm half convinced that Ralsei might not be a real person. He's a Darkner, just like Lancer, and we have begin to stablish that they're not really "real" and that the Dark World is play pretend: we see it at the end of Chapter 1 and 2 and how all the trash from the classroom becomes everyone when they enter it in Chapter 2. Ralsei is also the only one that fully disappears when they're left out of combat in battle while Susie and Kris just fall to the ground.
So maybe he's not real, and maybe he's aware of it. After all, he seems to be related somehow to Asriel, and Asriel is also Flowey, one of the few self-aware characters of UT. Maybe he's just playing the role Kris prepared for him because he doesn't know what else to do, and maybe later on he'll gain more agency.
Oh, and about Kris: WHAT THE HELL WAS THAT.
So I started my playthrough with the usual checking out everything on the house and went to see the mirror. The message was:
Is what they seem to call "you".
Which I don't remember if was also there in Ch. 1 but man, that's not ominous or anything huh. I already talked about how Susie's acting really makes you feel like your choices don't matter and that what's hspoening is out of your control, and that gives me some theories.
We see Kris supposedly making a new Dark Fountain at the very end, and we get hints that he was also the one who made the Dark Fountain in the library. We lack info, but for the sake of the argument let's say he was also the one who made the one in Ch. 1 with Ralsei and Lancer. We know too that his family is complicated: he was probably adopted, his parents are divorced, Astiel went to college and he probably feels lonely since he's searching for the date of his college vacation. People think he's weird as Noelle says and doesn't seem to have friends now outside Susie. Things are out of his control.
So my theory is that he makes these Dark Worlds to pretend that he's in an adventure and forget about the problems. After all, you have the control of the story when you're role-playing it, don't you? Don't we, as players of the game, know this?
To add to this, Queen says that the Lightners have all the ability to make Fountains if they have enough Determination, and since the Lightners are the real people and the rest are probably just made up ones, it makes sense: The Dark Worlds are play pretend worlds with injected Determination in them.
But in Undertale we learn that monsters don't have as much determination as humans, it'll take every monster soul in the Underground to equal the power of one human soul, remember? So Kris is by default stronger in Determination than Susie or Noelle, and even if they could have as much as him, mosnter bodies can't handle that amount. We see it in the Amalgamates and in how Undyne the Undying melts after defeating her in the Genocide Route. So Kris is the only possible option for who is making these worlds. As to WHY he's doing this, I have no clue.
On another hand, we also gain a new meaning of "your choices don't matter". We, the player, control Kris. Kris is his own person, but he doesn't have control of his actions, we do. Then him ripping away his Soul is like a way of defying us, his controller. Maybe Kris is self-aware, just how Flowey was in Undertale, about the player beyond the screen (Flowey refers to us in both the Genocide Route and after completing the True Pacifist End, when we go back to open the game). Frisk in UT never gave signs of being self-aware, contrary to Kris. Idk how Kris survives and can move without his Soul, tho, unless maybe it has to do with Determination again because he has enough to make a new Fountain even without it.
He looks depressed and lonely. But he's also determined and with a plan. And we know almost nothing about it.
— Other theories and thoughts
I still have no clue what the bunker-like door in the woods is for, but I'm glad it seems it'd become relevant later. That moment with Susie standing up for Kris was great.
We don't know yet if Determination here let's you control the timeline like in Undertale. Nothing proves or disproves it, we just know that here it seems to let you make Dark Fountains and Worlds.
This is just a thought: I thibk it'll be cool if by the end Susie realizes everything Kris has been doing and the Final battle of Chapter 7 is Kris vs. Susie. I've said how she's the Hero, so it could be something like Frisk vs Undyne in the Genocide Route. Just, you know, nobody dies.
UT gave weight to all our choices giving us the message of what too much power can do to people: it makes them care less and less about the people around them and gives you a superiority complex. DR goes the opposite way, when people's choices don't matter: is a cynical and almost nihilistic reality where nothing is worth it. In both cases, it means that anything we do goes, either cause we can just RESET and go back or cause the ending won't change a lot anyway.
I do think Deltarune is like an AU of Undertale, but I'm not sure about the whole "Kris is Chara" thing. I still want to think Chara is a separate entity until proven otherwise.
Toriel mentions at the beginning that the knife in the oven is Kris' knife. Like, dude, you just let your kid have his own knife? Does he have a collection or something? I think that should raise some red flags, Tori.
Good chapter. 8/10, would play again
