Assorted Thoughts - My Webcomic

if u haven't gotten a chance yet, please check out my webcomic ..Just Another Day!. there's 120 pages currently (as of writing this post on August 31, 2024), and its draw in a line-focused style with lots of neon colors and a sort of abstract-minimalist-adjacent look. in a simple sense, the webcomic is a slice-of-life and paranormal flavored experience for a handful of furry folkz of diff genduhs and sexualities in the fictional country of Corter. in a wider-scope, its also a simulated life experience managed by an android named Odell Scout. on the main website linked at the start of this paragraph, the reader is given commentary by Scout at the bottom of the page (the Operator's Notes section)

anyway, ive some thoughts i wanna ramble on about this webcomic so far. might have spoilers might not, so hiding it all under a read more incase.

Its Roots

A drawn page from 2018, from the now-expunged former webcomic of mine - COMIKZONE.

see that ancient comic page above? for starters, that's the precursor to ..Just Another Day! basically, a loose page from an old comic series i attempted between 2018 an 2019 called COMIKZONE. it was probably my first legit attempt at a webcomic of any kind, and is pretty rough technically in comparison to its more-proper successor these days. i got through making at least 20 pages over the span of a year or so, each one just being a spur of the moment thing made purely for fun and with no connected story in mind for itself and its sibling pages before and after. a lot of its looks where made from me taking photographs in chicago, cropping out small chunks of said photos, and then editing them to make textures of sorts for the characters and environments. theres a slim chance an archive of COMIKZONE is out there online on some random upload site, but these days i only have it saved locally and do not wish to repost it back online in full.*

basically, this would later inspire me to create ..Just Another Day! on July 24, 2023 and continuing updating it since then. it took the improvised and spur-of-the-moment feeling of COMIKZONE, attached to it a proper story both for the characters within and the meta shit outside it, and used that character seen above as a prototype design for my current webcomic's character Ede Matches. funny enough, this would be the second time i refolded that one-off design from COMIKZONE for one of my present-day OCs - as it also served as the prototype design for my characters Jason Millveille and his 'father' Prof. Roger Clements.

The Protagonist(s)

when i began work on ..Just Another Day! back in July 2023, i originally had the idea that the proper protagonists would just be lovers Ede Matches and Rosa Lithium for the whole thing. but really, it can't truly be like that if i want this experience to feel alive while also just being about whatever. in the 120 pages drawn so far, the role of the protagonist has jumped back and forth a lot depending on the situation.

in my mind, everyone plays a part in this whole thing - i can't just say Ede and Rosa handle it alone. everyone's got their struggles, everyone's pushing the story ahead, and everyone's influencing each other. in one sense, i like to look towards real life where there is no protagonist of this world we all share together - for better or worse. in another sense, i like to look towards something like Seinfeld where the protagonist can shift depending on who's manning the A plot and B plot respectively from episode to episode. that show also is an inspiration, what with its 'show about nothing' concept. there's still a lot of time ahead to give certain characters the spotlight for awhile, an see where it takes us.

The End (What is..? When is..? Etc.)

Drawing I made back in August 2022 of my character Odell Scout - the creator and narrator of the simulated project.

it has to be stressed that the story of ..Just Another Day! is genuinely handled a few pages at a time. right now as I type this, i have in mind what'll follow for maybe the next 5 to 10 pages at most, but not what will carry on after them. the ending? sure, there's been a handful of ideas in mind, but nothing is set in stone aside from how the presentation of its finale someday will be drawn. this isn't just a case of "oh i didnt plan ahead" but rather "its done when i can find peace with it, and then properly wrap it up without feel like its being dragged on forever like the Simpsons".

within the characters' lives, i want to hit a point where i've showcases enough shapshots of their lives and given them enough of a meaty story to make it feel like you - the reader - had enough time to enjoy getting a look at chunks of their lives. for the outside story, that is, the simulation aspect of it, i want to stretch it until the point that Odell Scout feels like his project was a roaring success and can be put to rest properly. his satisfaction is felt thru me in turn, and his project in-universe must end someday for he'll have to move onto other scientific adventures (i too must finish it someday and move onto other projects). for now, enjoy what's going on right now and know someday it will have a definite end with no sequels nor reboots to follow.

will another webcomic follow in its footsteps? at the moment, im leaning towards no personally. but never say never, right? in the meantime, thanks for reading and make sure to keep checking the main site for any new page updates. current schedule is 2-3 pages put up per week usually, with rare off-days if needed for my health.

This is going to out me as the anon but I got too many ideas and wanted to show really bad how the au designs are in my brain because a lot of @scrap-brainzone 's stuff inspired with it and aus so this is a babble about it and some extra info on my aus!

Going simple first, I wanted to show the differences, although I haven't touched Angelic Guardian in awhile and Hyperion brand new with posting I wanted to show anyways- I'll add tidbit about each under this, so sorry for anyone trying to decipher my chicken scratch

Underneath Ms Ceos heavy ass eyeliner and makeup is the eridium effects as displayed here, she's went under several different surgeries repeatedly trying to hide any of the effects and uses cameras and altering her look digitally to her advantage. Her big problem is she Can't let people know because she fears if people knew, they're going to try and kidnap her again. (Mildly irrational considering all her security but it's a fair worry.) She hasn't touched eridium since the end of BL2, so she's most clean, but with how much she had the damage has been done.

Ah, Fallen Heir au. Angel's given up caring about who sees, only hiding before to stay away from the Crimson Raiders and cultists, but after both sides know? It's so what to her. She's technically the most fit and least afraid to use her abilities because she doesn't care as much about hurting others around her. If I were to describe her attitude/self in one sentence of dialog it'd basically be, "They refuse to see me as anything but a monster, so that's what I'll be."

Alas, my dear Angelic Guardian. As you can see, she's very much not holding up well. Her suit uses eridium to help keep her going but still at what cost? She's technically extremely fit, but the repercussions are severe if she pushes too far. Her level of eridium poisoning is beyond dangerous, having been in stasis for 5 years while still receiving eridium to keep her alive. I'll end it here by saying this has severe consequences that unfortunately, she was doomed to face regardless.

Ai Ange? Well. Not very much of anything but mild traits. I, in turn, made one for Gaige with that au.

Angel isn't very the most comfortable with Gaige using eridium, mainly due to the fact its less "as needed" but she likes to test limits and see what she can really do.

moving on I made some goofies and such from my Fallen au, wanting to show interactions (Mildly for also scrap because I know tyreen and tygaige a favorite)

Tygaige alas, would heavy struggle unless we get villain redemption pt 2 like Angel, but she won't be very pleased about it at first before accepting. I'm a sucker for Gaigel, so it'll lean that way, but to entertain the idea would be interesting. I might do that sometime.

if you're curious though with Angel there, it is a shitpost and I have drawn it with the idea Tyreen was monologing, but Angel just turned off her shield and straight up shot a bitch. (Tyreen easily healed with eridium but it was the audacity that was most surprising) the fallen au is pretty funny because besides that, she's also: Made Troy punch himself, then also has made his arm punch Tyreen. Will hack their shows if she's upset enough and fucks with their things. General fun, yknow. An issue Ange faces in the end is because she's so "eridium enriched" it's like double tasty snack to the twins, so that's always fun. (In fairness to Troy and with another drawing, Angel in this au has also made Gaige punch herself a few times when she got upset. She's very petty and I support it)

AND LASTLY

This is a mild gift to scrap-brainzone! I'm really sorry thr quality and coloring isn't the best on this (or most of the images), I was mildly rushing from time and far too excited to finish this and post it to show.

montavaggio (montreal/caravaggio)- researcher x monster type deal and they get married like. a day after montreal breaks out of the facility and takes caravaggio with them. they're so wholesome. they're so silly and hot. one time montreal brought a slaughtered deer carcass into their house BECAUSE caravaggio thought it would be hot to see them in action EXCEPT he can't because if he does he'll see his worst fear but it's ok bc montreal thinks it's hot

mnm (metric/muridae)- researcher x assistant with the added theme of cat x mouse. i hate them, if i had to work w these bitches i'd kill them. i love them. not fucking metric taking muridae on as an assistant just so they never get a promotion which sounds bad but is symbiotic in actuality because muridae can't stand the thought of advancing within the initiative and so they both stagnate together in the impossible position of managing arkshore's loose anomalies. and they love each other but they don't want to ruin what they have because jesus christ they always ruin everything. but also they want each other sooooo bad they want to fuck each other so bad it makes them look stupid as hell and everyone knows. oh yeah it's just dinner at a taco truck definitely not a date do you think i'm dumb

peniscule (marlowe/metric/muridae/ward/silitha/someone else probably) - literally just look at it. funny as hell. no comment. they're all whores. theres a living doll, a bitch w light sensitivity, a sillay guy who hates their job and leaks info on ananke twitter, a bitch w daddy issues, and a spider thing who likes taking ppls blood and fingernails. like only one of them uses something other than they/them. no pic for this bc i haven't gotten around to it.......... yet..................

emirapel (emil/errapel) - tavernkeep x adventurer type beat except the tavernkeep hates adventurers except not really he just hates his sisters husband or whatever. mutual pining that can't be realised bc the world is ending but they want each other to live so badly and to be safe and it hurts them to know that can never be so. emil wanting someone to stay, someone to just come back and errapel doing just that. errapel throwing his life away needlessly until emil pulls away and he realises he has something he wants to live for. something to finally come back to.

brynasha (brynn/sasha) - what do you even call this. hero x villain? it is NOT that simple they've got a 5d chess of shit going on. they're so sillay so goofy. they're the only ones who understand each other. like they are too good. brynn forces sasha to reconsider his choices and way of life while sasha forces brynn to take it easy and to think about themself every once in awhile. they both want each other not because of what they have to offer (brynn as weaving bell, sasha as a provider) but because of who they are. but also sasha is a FREAK and so is brynn but they're closeted so they're always bickering and sasha is always whimpering bc brynn won't let him kiss them until he washes off all that blood.

food chain (duo/roe/warren) - erm! freak alert! tossing them all in together bc roe/duo and roe/warren are both so good. freaks. all of them. they should die by each others hands and maybe that will happen who knows. i don't. roe's obsession with death as a form of dominance and freedom (imo) slots so well w duo's need to be consumed by an herbivore and warren's need to kill and consume others as a form of control. duo scares roe just enough while warren makes them feel safe. they were all made for each other i hope they never involve anyone else in their issues (they will, everyone say bye kieran) also no pics for this one bc apparently i haven't drawn them all together! whadda hell!!

roerabbit (roe/jackrabbit) - my beautiful crack ship. they are so silly. the jackrabbit wants roe so bad and is so happy to be with this bitch and roe is standing there thinking about his limp, disemboweled body. what an asshole. it's okay tho bc roe helps the jackrabbit win claw games and they go on fancy dates and neither of them get into illegal activities bc they just don't. so sillay. no the jackrabbit isn't me what are you talking about. the fact i have art for this n not food chain........ interesting.................

hello everyone! i thought of sharing this for awhile regarding the ways to interact with me. this might be long but please don't let this intimidate you, it's just something i wanna share since i've seen those 'engage with your mutuals' posts but i wanna reiterate and bring this up lately since i've got some new mutuals/mutuals that i haven't interacted with yet.

memes and opens are the best way to jump and start interactions. they are always accepting responses. even unprompted asks. 24/7/52/365. always.

i love plotting and i love building dynamics. and if you’re not used to first meetings, i’m open to pre-established relationships between our characters. i get people being busy and real life, and some are too afraid to approach me, but please try to make an effort to engage. i write an OC of color, and it sucks when i don’t receive enough engagement or people not showing interest or interact towards the lore and bio i post. i post starter calls, opens, memes and there are days i don’t receive anything and i get frustrated. it makes me feel like i’ve been overlooked and ignored. and we all don't want that to happen, right? remember, the more you try to engage, the more i'd likely do the same thing to you and engage as well, have you as a writing partner and you could be my treasured mutual.

there are many ways to engage or showing interest with me other than having threads with me. liking my HCs/edits/lore, reblogging my promo, sending me asks about trinity and her lore. it makes me feel better that there are people who actually care about my muse and her world building, which i've worked so hard on. it also helps me know you wanna interact with me at some point.

i don’t have any deadline or due date to start writing with me right away. but if we’ve been mutuals for months and you never make an effort to interact or write with me (honestly, i would try my best to interact with every mutual i follow but it sucks whenever i don’t get reciprocated in return), i have every right to break mutuals. i mostly stick to mutuals who actively engage or interact with me. just a simple, “hey i’m too busy but i want write with you in the future" would make a difference. i just feel like it's unfair of me if i need to set up a deadline, as we all have real lives and obligations to take care of.

importantly, please don’t take this one as an intent of me pressuring you to write with me immediately or making you guys feel guilty. i totally understand how people can’t come up with plot ideas right off the bat or have been overwhelmed with threads or whatever reason. i've been here on this site for long, people come and go, but i'm more drawn to people who try to take action.

at last but not least, please don’t hesitate to communicate with me or let me know why we haven’t rped yet or if you’ve got something that might work between our muses. as long you’re being respectful and polite, we’re totally good. and if you feel like we don't vibe after i post this, feel free to softblock or hardblock. i'd get hurt and upset if anyone do this ofc, but you do whatever you makes you feel comfortable and curate your own dash.

i was pretty hesitant to post this but here we go, character time

TDA (The Darkened Awakening)

In an AU where Dark actually died during the fight (technically we don't know if he actually died), he goes to Rocket and finds both Second and Chosen, and decides that he wants to possess Second for "revenge". But, something went wrong, and instead of him possessing Second, his ghost fused with Second's body in an excruciatingly painful process that took several minutes.

This created TDA.

The fusion caused some, changes, to Second's appearance, giving him red stripes here and there, as well as giving Dark access to his powers, but not Second to his own. Both of their minds (consciousness) are still there, just now they share a body. Also, Dark has the Virus Powers without needing the bands, but like Second with his own powers, he can not willingly access it.

After the accidental fusion, Second passed out, giving Dark full control. So he tried to use his lazer eyes to bust out of the cell, but instead he used Second's, which caused a lot of physical pain do to the amount of power. After that he escaped and found his way through the woods to an old abandoned house where they have been staying.

TDA is what Dark now calls the both of them, him and TSC do not get along in the same body, often having arguments with one another. When both of them are awake, one has to agree to where the other wants/needs to go, which is difficult sense they are almost constantly arguing.

Some other things: When either is asleep, the other gains control over now the both of them's body. When both of them are asleep, so is their body. Simple.

They often share dreams, and sometimes when Second is asleep, Dark can faintly see Second's dreams when he closes his eyes.

If they're both awake and in control, and they want to go to separate places, their body will not move until they agree to go to one place first.

Another thing to note, neither of them are happy about the fusion at all, and they're still "learning" to get along.

I haven't drawn them yet and i probably wont for awhile. I really fucking hope nobody steals this idea ;-; 'cause i'll be pretty pissy about it
