Actually, it's interesting to think about the sheer amount of footage that Jay never shows us. I'm rewatching Season One again, and Entry #3 caught my eye because Jay says he cut together about 2.5 Minutes worth of clips that he pulled from around 12 different tapes.

Depending on what kind of tape Alex's camera used, a single tape could hold anywhere from 1 to like 5 hours worth of footage -- at Minimum Jay watched 12 hours worth of footage just to make that video where he showed us like 0.002% of it.

I wouldn't go so far as to suggest that Jay was deliberate about framing Alex in any particular light when he started the channel, but it is interesting to think about the footage he decided wasn't interesting or worth sharing, and what kind of story a different cut would have told

#N posts stuff #like. when you do think about it though - intentional or not - jay Was only interested in showing Alex 'at his worst'#only the most dramatic of clips are taken; only the ones where Alex's frustration is Most tangible; only the ones Jay thinks matter #bc Jay is investigating a Strange Happening the more mundane or like 'softer' aspects of Alex's life or personality don't matter #the casual conversations Alex had with other people aren't important - only the ones where things are Weird and Off #or when Alex is sounding Suspicious to Jay do; idk it's interesting to think about. and even if you disregard all of that you Do still #have to wonder what Jay might have Missed - bc watching over 12 hours worth of footage of a guy largely just going about his day #has got to be kind of grueling and we're assuming that Jay still like. idk has a day job and shit so presumably he's cutting back on #sleep and hobbies Just so that he can comb through these tapes -- so disregard the lens of Jay's potentially biased interest and you #still have to wonder what might have slipped Jay's exhausted and overworked attention span . something to think about #mh lb #marble hornets
