CS Halloweek » Oct 27th: Myths, Legends, and Fairytales » Cinderella AU
Young deckhand Killian Jones has spent most of his life serving on a ship of a ruthless captain Silver. He had dreams of becoming a lieutenant, and eventually a captain of his own ship. However, his dreams would have to wait, until his debt to Captain Silver was paid. Luckily, he befriended some of the more seasoned crew members, who wanted a better life for their young friend. The perfect occasion arrived in a form of an open invitation to all bachelors of the kingdom to attend a ball. Killian was not thrilled about it, but the thought of being somewhere else, even for a night seemed appealing enough. With the help of his fairy godmother, Killian was ready for the ball in no time. He danced the night away with none other than the princess Emma herself. However, the night had to end sometime and for him it was with the clock striking midnight. This meant the spell would be broken and he would return to his raggedy old self. So, he ran as fast as he could, not hearing the princess asking him to wait. What he did not expect was for the kingdom to go on high alert, looking for a young man who has captured the princess' heart. He was not the only one who has felt the connection the night of the ball it seems, for he has made an impression on the princess too. Needless to say, they were reunited and were excited to experience the happily ever after together.

Do you ship Killian and Regina too?! Like for real this season I've shipped them so hard! I wish there were blogs about them because I can't with them. Also, didn't Jacinda say that she thought they were together? I read a post about that but didn't see it so did it really happen?
Yes! I am a huge fan of Hooked Queen! I’ve always loved them (it was my first HookShip ever, haha) and I’m shipping them super ultra hardcore for this season and until the end of tiiiiiiiiiime! *cough* :D
And yes, that scene DID happen! It was in episode 7x03 (I believe) when Henry reunited with Cinderella at the resistance camp. He introduced Regina as his mother, and Ella gestured to Hook and said something like, “Then... this is your father?” Henry corrected her, of course, and Hook introduced himself as Captain Hook, but it’s a long-standing trope to have someone incorrectly assume a pair of characters are a couple as a means of foreshadowing them eventually becoming a couple - so it’s a good sign for us shippers!!
As for blogs dedicated to the wonder of Hooked Queen, check these out:
@fuckyeshookedqueen
@captregina
@imhookedonthequeen
Good stuff, all around! And also make sure to check @lanasfeather and @reginamillsmayorqueen too! Their blogs aren’t dedicated to the pairing, but they do ship it and make some lovely content! :D

I was informed you had some Merman captian hook going on, I was wondering if you could point me in the direction of any art or stories based on this au? :D Grazie~
OH, NONNIE. YOU CAME TO THE RIGHT PLACE. @thesschesthair was wise to send you to me :D
As @optomisticgirl added to that post, I have an extensive mermaid!Killian tag (and a related mermaid!Emma tag, if you’re interested) filled with LOTS of art and stories and other mermaid-related shenanigans. Because Killian as a merman is basically my favorite thing ever.
Breaking it down:
My stuff
I have what’s probably an absurd amount of fics and whatnot featuring mermaid!Killian…please bear with me.
A Tall Tail
I have to shamelessly plug my own mermaid!Killian story, A Tall Tail. It’s my baby.
Synopsis: Killian thought he’d met his demise when Ursula tossed him carelessly into the water. But he ended up finding out more about himself—and the mermaids he had hoped to avoid, not join—than ever before. (Canon-divergent from 4x15)
The main story can be found on tumblr, AO3, and FF.net. There’s also a series of related ficlets:
Valentine’s Day
mermaid!Captain Charming
mermaid!CS smut (yes, they got it on) (many times) (done for my awesome mermate @xpumpkindumplingx’s bday)
mermaid!Captain Cobra
mermaid!CS’s merbaby (actually, merbabies)
And I have been so, so blessed to have some very talented friends who’ve created absolutely beautiful works of art related to this story.
By the amazing @fairytalesandtimetravel:
(link)
And then my darling @cocohook38 has made sooo many pieces. Two faves (I have to limit myself because otherwise, this post would be miles long):
(link)
(link) (also: Emma with their merbaby)
In addition to:
these original mermaid!Killian sketches
this comic from the first chapter
these fantastic IRL drawings
this gorgeous scene from one of the last chapters
BATHTUB
I’m still floored that these pieces exist, so please go send them all the love.
Waxing Poetic on Chest Hair Removal
Yes, I have another story, because I’m weird (and because @cocohook38 deserved all the adoration on her bday). Though he’s still a human in this one, he gets his chest waxed so he can be a model merman. And then there’s smut, once the chest hair grows back in, because he just isn’t Killian Jones without it. Read on tumblr, AO3, and FF.net.
And because I’m extra nerdy, I made a manip set of him as said merman model.
More Fic
Some other fantastic stories featuring Killian as a merman:
Castles in the Sand by allycat22 (really cute Little Mermaid-esque story featuring Killian the merman falling for Princess Emma; unfinished but still adorable, and this cover art by @captainswanouat is gorgeous)
Between the Sand and the Sea by @mryddinwilt (Mako Mermaids CS AU in which Killian inadvertently becomes a merman, much to Emma the mermaid’s chagrin. but it’s so damn adorable. also, A Tall Tail wouldn’t have happened without Holli’s encouragement and it’s her birthday today so go send her some love!)
A Song of the King of the Sea by @timetravelingpotatoast (really fun adventure! Synopsis:Ursula is in trouble. Without magic and missing some memories, she fears something may have happened to her father, and turns to Emma and Killian for assistance. A mystery awaits them in the oceans of the Echanted Forest. For obvious reasons, this requires our heroes to be turned into merfolk.)
Untitled ficlet (with accompanying art) by @thewholeworldatyourfeet
Little Mermaid/Cinderella AU gifset by @shipsxahoy (IT’S SO CUTE)
More Art
@cocohook38 has so many more cute doodles:
her first mermaid!CS
Underwater
a cute mermaid!CS moment
these adorable little scenes
merman Hook
merman Killian with centaur Emma (slightly NSFW)
@tennant-the-tigger has an adorable interpretation of something Killian would never wear (but I beg to differ ;) )
@caipteancalahaan drew an adorable reverse-ish scenario
@malicious-winking made these adorable doodles
@timetravelingpotatoast‘s emo merman
and @bloodyirishpirate‘s more accurate merman (I love the gills!)
I’m sure there is LOTS more out there, so if anyone has anything to add, let me know! This can be something of a merman Killian masterpost :) And thanks again for the Q, nonnie! Hope this helps!

Fandom: Once Upon a Time (TV) Rating: Mature, for future chapters Warnings: Creator Chose Not To Use Archive Warnings Relationships: Captain Hook | Killian Jones/Emma Swan Characters: Emma Swan, Captain Hook | Killian Jones Summary: Once upon a time a princess fell in love with a pirate and together they started a family. This is a series of oneshots about their lives together. There’s some fluff and some drama and maybe a couple of monsters. But Emma and Killian wouldn’t trade their life for anything. This is all they ever really wanted.
AO3 ff.net
Nightmares and Storms: Emma and Killian’s youngest daughter, Clara, is plagued by nightmares that cause her to wake up screaming. Night terrors. That’s what Archie called them. This is the aftermath of one such dream.
It seemed as though the world was ending. That’s how violent the storm was, what with the flashes of lightning that lit up the pitch black sky and the claps of thunder that often sounded as though someone had fired a cannon on the roof. Rain simply poured out of the sky. It was the kind of storm that made sleep nearly impossible. Especially for Storybrooke’s youngest residents. Many of whom had woken up calling for their parents. Then there were those who were locked in nightmares they couldn’t escape.
Such was the case for Clara Marie Jones who tossed and turned violently in her bed as she dreamed of a horde of monsters. It was a dream that she had had many a time before. She dreamed that she was stuck in the muddy bank of a raging river that was so dark that it looked like black ink. A river that the monsters who trying to drag her into. In her dream, she reached out and tried to find purchase in the thick mud.
It was no use.
Her feet were in the water now and it was freezing. She called out for help, but no one answered. Not her father. Not her mother. Not either of her siblings. It was just her and her monsters and that terrifying river. Her fingers left tiny trenches in the thick mud as she was pulled farther and farther in. Clara took a deep gulp of air.
And woke up screaming.
The dream had been so vivid, as all of her nightmares were. She could still feel the mud under her fingertips. She could feel the claws of those awful monsters tearing at her. She could feel the iciness of the water. It was always like this. It always took her a while to come out of the dream completely. As if the nightmares never wanted to let her go.
Slowly, too slowly, the nightmare started to fade. She clutched her beloved stuffed duck, Jolly, as she looked around her room with wide eyes. She gasped for air as her heart pounded inside her chest. Tears were streaming down her face as she realized that she was not, in fact, in a river but in her own bed. The realization did little to calm her down. Not when she could remember everything so clearly. Not when the rain and thunder made it sound like her house was surrounded by monsters.
Clara scrambled out of her bed, hugging Jolly tightly to her chest and made for her bedroom door. Only to skid to a stop as she heard the sound of footsteps coming up the stairs. She let out a terrified screech as she ran towards her closet instead, sliding the door open and diving inside. She took a moment to slide it back closed before scooting into the corner, convinced that one of her monsters had snuck into the house and was coming for her. She clamped her hands over her face and rocked back and forth. Maybe this was it. Maybe her nightmares were finally coming true.
“Bloody hell.” Killian Jones muttered as he peered out into the storm. He’d been lounging on their living room couch attempting to read when his wife had called to say that she was going to wait out the storm at her parents’ house. Emma had gone out to dinner with her mother and Henry was staying with Regina for the week so it’d just been Killian and his and Emma’s two daughters: Catalina and Clara. Aged six and four, respectively.
It’d been a fun evening - at least until this blasted storm had started. They’d had a nice dinner that was followed by a viewing of the animated version of Cinderella and then it came time for the girls to go to bed. Teeth were brushed and faces were washed and then he’d read them a story before tucking them into their respective beds.
By Killian’s estimation, they had been asleep for about an hour before the storm started. Before all hell had broken loose outside. He shook his head at the rain, trying to remember the last time he’d seen a storm this bad. He briefly considered going back to his book, but thought better of it and decided to check on his girls instead. It was only a matter of time before the storm woke one or both of them. He’d just put his foot on the first step when he heard a scream.
His heart leaped up into his throat as he took the stairs two at a time. The following scream chilled him to the bone as he raced to Clara’s room. He knew that it’d been her who had screamed. Catalina was certainly no stranger to bad dreams, but Clara’s were altogether different. They’d started when she was around two years old and had quickly gotten bad enough that they’d been forced to turn to Archie, hoping that he’d be able to help their little girl.
Night terrors. That’s what Archie called them. Their sweet Clara was being plagued by night terrors, though they hadn’t been able to pinpoint what had made them start. It’d been nearly two years and none of them knew how to make them stop. There were things they could do to help, however.
“If she wants to talk about her dreams, let her. But don’t push,” Archie had told them. “Forcing her to talk about them won’t help. It’s easier said than done, but when she has these dreams, she needs you to stay calm. Just let her know that you’re there for her. She needs reassurance. She needs to know that she’s safe. That she’s loved.” At this point, Archie had given them a sympathetic smile. “That should be easy for you two. You’re good parents. These dreams aren’t your fault.”
Remembering Archie’s advice, Killian forced himself to take a deep breath as he flung open Clara’s door. Staying calm was easier said than done. It was hard not to panic once either of them heard Clara scream. For such a small child, her lungs were shockingly powerful. Her screams were bloodcurdling. His baby was far too young to know this kind of fear. “Clara?” It took a concentrated effort not to shout.
Killian switched on her ceiling light as he scanned the room, noting that her bed was empty. Another deep breath. “Clara?” He bent down to peer under the bed. No Clara. His head shot up as he heard a whimper coming from the closet. He should’ve guessed.
“Clara, are you in here?” He slid open the closet door and crouched down. His heart sank as he spotted his little girl curled up in a little ball in the corner, trembling with her hands covering her face. “Oh my sweet girl,” he murmured sadly. He inched closer, approaching her the way one might approach a wounded animal. “Clara, it’s Daddy. You’re safe now.”
Killian watched as she slowly lowered her hands and eyes nearly identical to his own peeked out at him. “Daddy?” she asked, her voice shaking as she studied him. He gave her a small smile as her face lit up with recognition. “Daddy!” She flung herself into his arms and buried her face against his shoulder, sobbing.
At terrifying as her screams were, this might actually be the worst part of the night terrors, in his opinion. The moment when she completely dissolved into tears. Archie had said that the tears weren’t necessarily a bad thing; it was a way for her to purge the dream out of her system. The Cricket might have been right about that, but damn if that made it any easier to watch.
Killian had experienced all sorts of terrible things in his lifetime, but if there was one thing that could bring him to his knees it was the sound of any of his girls crying.
He couldn’t take it. Especially not when they were born of such horror. It made him feel helpless and Killian hated feeling helpless. Her grip on him tightened.
“Ssh, it’s all right now, darling. You’re all right. It wasn’t real,” he said softly. “It was just a dream.” He ran his hand down her dark brown locks soothingly. “A horrible, scary dream, I know. But it’s over now. You’re safe now. I’m here.” He kissed the top of her head. “Daddy’s got you.”
He began rocking her, the storm nearly forgotten as he focused his attention on calming his daughter. She slowly stopped trembling and her sobs became quieter, much to his relief. He carefully pried her away after another minute or two, just enough so that he could see her face.
“Do you want to talk about it?” he asked, bringing his hand to her face so he could gently wipe away some of her tears. She chewed on her bottom lip for a moment while she considered his question. Killian waited patiently, heeding Archie’s advice not to push.
“There were m-monsters,” she said quietly, her voice shaking on some of the words. “A bunch of them. Th-they were trying to p-pull me into the water.” A violent shudder shook her small frame. “It was c-cold and the ground was m-muddy. I c-called for help, but you d-didn’t come.” Her lip quivered. “You didn’t come.”
“Oh Clara.” He hugged her close again and struggled to speak over the lump in his throat. “I’m sorry.” It was his turn to whisper. “I’m so sorry, darling.”
“It’s okay,” she said after a moment. “Y-you’re here now.”
“Aye, lass,” he agreed, drawing her back so he could see her face again. “I’m here now and I’m not going anywhere.”
“P-promise?” Her voice sounded so small to his ears.
“I promise,” he assured her. He was rewarded with a tiny smile.
“I love you, Daddy.” Four words that he would never tire of hearing.
“Not as much as I love you, little one.” He kissed her forehead, smiling when she responded by hugging him again.
“Daddy?”
Killian looked up at the sound of his elder daughter’s voice. He turned his head to find Catalina standing in her sister’s doorway, a concerned expression on her face. While Clara had inherited his own coloring, Catalina had taken after her mother. She had the same blonde hair, the same green eyes and the same smile. She looked exactly how Killian imagined Emma had looked at that age.
“Yes, love?” He supposed he shouldn’t have been surprised to see her awake. The storm was still raging, after all, though it seemed slightly less violent than before. Not to mention the way Clara had been screaming. If anything, it was a wonder she hadn’t woken sooner. Maybe she had, but he’d been too preoccupied with calming Clara to realize it. “Did the storm wake you?”
She hesitated a moment before shaking her head, her gaze flickering over to her sister. So it had been Clara’s screams that had done it. “The storm didn’t help,” she offered.
“No, I imagine it didn’t.” He smiled at her. “But it does seem to be calming down.” No sooner had the words left his mouth when there was a clap of thunder so loud that it made all three of them jump. Clara let out a shriek and Killian extended his left arm out just in time for Catalina to come rushing into it. She flung one arm around him and the other around her sister. “Okay, so maybe I was wrong.” He said it brightly, hoping to ease the tension a bit.
“I hate storms!” Catalina exclaimed.
“Me too,” Clara put in. “They bring out the monsters.”
“Aw Clara,” Catalina said sympathetically. There were so many things to love about his eldest daughter, but one of Killian’s favorites was the way she cared about her little sister. She’d ignore her own fear to help Clara with hers. “It’ll be okay! Have you forgotten? Our Daddy is Captain Hook! Those monsters are no match for him.”
As it happened, Killian had been attacked by a number of monsters over the years. Some of which had almost killed him, but better to keep that thought to himself. He was touched by the vote of confidence all the same. “That’s right. No monster would dare to step foot or tentacle in my house,” he declared. “A good captain keeps his crew safe and I am a very good captain.”
“You’re the best captain!” Catalina corrected.
“Well, I don’t know if I’d go that far,” he began. “But if you want to, who am I to argue?” He shot Catalina a wink, making her giggle. “Now. I don’t suspect that I’ll be able to get either of you back to sleep anytime soon. So there’s only one thing to do.”
“What?” Catalina asked, intrigued.
“Gather up all the pillows and blankets we can find and build a fort in the living room, of course,” he answered matter-of-factly.
“A fort? Are you serious?” Catalina wrinkled her nose. Clara stayed silent as she looked back and forth between her father and sister.
“What’s wrong with a fort, may I ask?” Killian challenged.
“Daddy.” It came out on a sigh. “Why build a fort when we can build a pirate ship instead?” She smirked at him, making him grin. She may have been a smaller version of Emma, but that expression? That was all him.
“Spoken like a true pirate,” he said, proudly. “That’s my girl. A pirate ship it is!”
“Yay!” Catalina cheered. “You’ll have to be the captain, but can I be your first mate?”
“You would be an excellent first mate,” he told her. She beamed at him. So far this distraction had worked to take Catalina’s mind off of the storm, but Killian wasn’t sure if it was helping Clara or not. She had stopped crying, which was good, but she’d made no move to let go of him.
Par the course with her night terrors. After the screams and with the tears came the clinginess. Archie had felt that this, too, was normal. After the scariness of the dream, she wanted the security of knowing she was safe. So she’d cling onto whichever parent she wanted until she felt safe enough to let go. Sometimes it didn’t seem to matter; she’d just hold onto whomever was the closest. Other times there’d be one of them she’d want in particular. Then there were the times where the dream had been so bad that she wanted them both.
That suited both him and Emma just fine. Truth be told, the cuddles seemed to help them almost as much as it helped her. He ran his hand down her hair again. “What about you, darling? Who do you want to be?” Unsure, Clara shot a look at her sister who was all too happy to help.
“She’s the Pirate Princess,” Catalina supplied. “And we’re taking her to see the Pirate Queen.”
“Mommy?” Clara asked.
“Mommy,” Catalina confirmed, though this made her frown. “Daddy? Where is Mommy?”
“She’s waiting out the storm at Grandma and Grandpa’s,” Killian told them, wincing when Clara’s face fell. “She’s okay. Mommy’s safe,” he assured her. “She may end up having to spend the rest of the night over there, but she’ll be back in the morning.”
“I hate storms,” Clara pouted. “I want Mommy!” Uh oh.
“That’s why we’re making the pirate ship,” Catalina cut in before Killian could speak. “So we can sail to Mommy. It might take all night, that’s all.” A pause as Catalina watched her sister. “Don’t worry, Clara. Daddy won’t let anything happen to our Pirate Princess.” She reached up to wipe away a tear that had escaped and was rolling down Clara’s cheek. “And I won’t either.”
“What a storm that was, huh?” It was early the next morning and Emma had just gotten home. The storm had stopped sometime after midnight, but it’d started raining again while Emma was driving home. She’d darted into the house and was hanging up her jacket as she spoke. She’d seen the living room light on and had assumed that Killian was already awake.
“If I’d have known it was going to be that bad, I would’ve had dinner with Mom some other time.” Emma headed into the living room, surprised into silence by the sight that greeted her.
It looked as if every pillow and blanket they owned had been piled up into a somewhat triangular formation on the floor in front of the couch. Killian and their two daughters were fast asleep in the middle of it. The girls were in pajamas, but Killian was still wearing what he’d worn the day before which told Emma that the storm must have woken the girls up before he’d gotten the chance to go to bed. This must have been his way to try to make them feel better.
Killian’s hook and brace had been discarded on the couch behind them. He had Clara curled up against his left side and Catalina against his right. Clara’s small hand was wrapped around his necklace as if to keep him anchored in place. Something Emma was prone to do herself. Clara’s beloved Jolly was on his stomach between the two sisters. Killian had his arms wrapped around his girls protectively and his head rested against Catalina’s.
The sweet scene before her made Emma smile even as tears pricked her eyes. Unable to resist, she dug her phone out of her jeans pocket and snapped a few pictures. Satisfied, she set her phone down on one of the end tables before nudging Killian’s foot with her own. She knelt down as she waited for him to wake.
He woke slowly, his first instinct to check on each of his daughters before looking up. A sleepy smile crept across his face as he drank in the sight of his wife. “Hello beautiful.”
“Hey handsome,” she responded, her smile widening. “What’s all this?” She gestured to the pile of blanket and pillows with her hand.
“Why, it’s a pirate ship, love,” he informed her. “And you call yourself my wife.” He gave her a look of mock disapproval. She chuckled as she shifted to take off her shoes.
“Well, in that case,” she started. “Permission to board, Captain?”
“Of course. The Pirate Queen is always welcome on my ship,” he answered. Emma lifted an eyebrow as she settled in behind Clara, keeping herself propped up on her elbow so she could look at him.
“I’m the Pirate Queen now?” she asked, amused.
“That’s right. I’m the Captain of this here vessel and this,” He patted Catalina’s shoulder. “Is my first mate and this,” A nod to Clara. “Is the Pirate Princess who we are taking to see the Queen. To find you.”
“I see.” Emma looked over her girls for a moment before speaking again. “The storm?”
“The storm,” Killian confirmed. “And I’m afraid to say that it gave our Pirate Princess one of her bad dreams.” Emma frowned, her gaze shifting to her youngest daughter.
“I knew I should’ve stayed home,” she sighed. “How bad was it?”
“Bad, but she’s okay. Emma.” He waited for her to meet his eyes again. “She’s okay.”
“I hate these dreams, Killian,” she sighed.
“I know,” he said gently. “I do too. But at least this one is behind us. She seems to be sleeping peacefully enough.”
“Yeah, because she’s holding onto her Daddy,” she said.
“Well, maybe that helps a bit,” he said, with a small smile.
“A lot. It helps her a lot,” Emma corrected him. She studied him for a moment. “Killian?” He lifted his eyebrows in response. “Thank you.”
“For what, love?” He asked, sounding a little confused.
“For being the kind of Daddy who will build his girls a pillow ship in the middle of the night to comfort them during a storm,” she said tenderly, reaching over Clara to press her hand to his cheek. “And then letting them use him as a pillow.” She waited a beat. “I think I’ll keep you.”
“I would despair if you didn’t.” He turned his head to kiss her palm. “It’s still pretty early yet. How about we get a little more sleep?”
“Sounds good to me.” Emma shifted until she found a comfortable position and settled her arm around Clara. The movement caused her to stir.
“Mommy?” She mumbled, her voice thick with sleep.
“Yes, baby, I’m here now,” Emma assured her.
“We’re both here,” Killian added. “Go back to sleep, darling. We’ve got you.”

Season 7 Spec and Thoughts based on previous patterns. Updated 9/22
After SDCC and rewatching the series this season here’s a few things that I’ve thought of.... (and if you don’t care about the patterns, skip to below cut)
1) Once is the journey of 3 villains, Emma and Henry and the people that affect their journeys. 2) The way the villain’s redemptions are written are similar a) Killian turned dark for love and Emma was his catalyst. b) Regina turned dark for envy and Henry was her catalyst. c)Rumple turned dark for power and Gideon was his catalyst. 3) All of the curses had two individuals involved, except the final one. One person’s intentions were to hurt and the second person to help. Season 1 curse - Regina to hurt, Rumple added savior twist. Season 3 curse - Pan cast to hurt, Regina to save. Season 3 curse - Snow cast to save, Zelena to hurt. Season 5 curse - Nimue/DH cast to hurt, Emma to save. Season 6 - BF cast to hurt (was there a save added? perhaps) 4) When Rumple tries to do things alone bad things happen. Pan came back, Zelena came back... and in the finale, he dispatched of the worst evil around alone. 5) To me, the overarching theme is that to save your family/town you work as a team but ultimately it is up to you to save yourself. S5a, Emma saved herself, S5b, Kilian did, S6- Regina and Rumple, started so S7 needs to be Rumple and Henry. 6) The S4 finale AU persona, at their best, were where the characters really see themselves. 7) Throughout the entire series, consistently they say magic comes with a price and that love, hope and belief are the most important things. 8) Season 6 yelled at us that season 7 was going to be the future and told through the eyes of the next generations POV.
THINGS WE’VE HEARD ABOUT SEASON 7
1) It’s a requel - this fits perfectly because it’s a sequel for Regina, Rumple, Hook, but a start of Adult Henry’s story. 2) Time is wonky because Henry aged but no one else did and Lucy is 10 3) It’s the ones who weren’t cursed in S1 plus characters from different versions of some stories they’ve already told. 4) We won't’ see other versions of the Old Guard 5) They continue with the same narrative. 6) In the round table interview that Adam/Eddy did they said a couple of things that stuck out a) that the cursed would be among the uncursed in the real world, b) that ‘she’ learned something from the first curse and separated the fairytale characters, c) that the show won’t be all about magic and d) that we wouldn’t know who cast the curse like we did in S1. 7) Also just my thinking is that season 7 and Henry’s journey is a metaphor for a teen growing up and leaving home and exploring the world. 8) The story is Henry’s love story and the journey of his adventure with Hook, Regina, and Gold. And the words to promote are “To Save the World’. 9) In the finale, we saw Tiger Lilly with Lucy - the book that Lucy had there was the brown leather one. The book on the train is a hand drawn one like the one Henry made for Emma. Significant? 10) We see a new savior this season. Is it Lucy who is sent from the future to save her family? Is it Tiger Lilly who sends Lucy to help OR Is it Rumple who steps up to the plate and realizes love is power? (I do not believe it is Henry)
So I think that........
We see Henry leaving home in the opening of S 7, - based on what Lana has said it’s 5 years later. (I think it’s because the BF has already started creating turmoil in the eF)
Because of his realm hopping, he aged differently - similar to how the BF never aged in the Dark Realm yet the kids seemed to, at least Gideon aged to 28 after starting as a baby.
He gets involved with a Cinderella from another realm and the wicked step mom wants to keep them apart. In the stories, she does not have magic and so either she met up with the person who cast the curse OR they changed the rules, but I don’t buy they completely tossed what they did for 6 years.
He requests help from his family and Hook, Rumple and Regina go to help him, but the curse sweeps them up before they can help. BUT not only does the curse sweep up Henry, Hook, Rumple and Regina, it also sweeps up all of SB, spreading all of the fairy tale characters into different places, possibly both in the real world, other realms, stories, etc. (based on the CS pictures, I think CS go but she goes back to SB and sends Regina and possibly Rumple to the EF)
The reason the 3 villains were left with Henry is because villains never work together plus w/o Emma and Belle to keep Killian and Rumple on their good path, it is going to be easier to ‘turn’ them.
Tiger Lilly sends Lucy from the future back to save her family and she works to get them all to believe. Once they believe then the last half of the season is the journey to different places to ‘save’ their families/friends. That way they can bring back old characters yet not have to worry about them being there at the same time.
As for the villain. I’m saying that it is Fiona. Rumple dispatched her far too easily and on his own and that is going to come back and bite him on his behind. They will have to fight together BUT using the same motto as previous where ‘you do what you have to do to protect those you love’ would allow them to not necessarily make the best choice - which fits Colin saying it’s not all good or bad, you might see both.
It also fits them not pulling a brand new story into the show just in case they don’t get renewed.
Serves as a jumping off point IF by some chance they do get renewed.
And just like in the S4 AU Emma will be ‘trapped’ unable to help them - she will be under a sleeping curse, possibly putting herself to under assuming her family would save her - and we finally get a CS TLK. - I know not holding my breath but please. So I’m thinking possibly she’s going to be a swan - as I feel that Hook/Tiana’s stories are going to parallel. So Emma will be ‘with’ Hook but not in the same form.
Updated -Lana said she was getting a LI and described Richard the Lionhearted very well. I”m thinking we’ll see another book’s version of Robin Hood but Robin Hood is actually King Richard in disguise. Now I need Sean back.
It’s a chess game and Killian (Rook) switches places with the King (Emma) then he, Regina (Queen), Rumple (Bishop) get swept up in the curse. The King (Emma) is also removed from the game by the villain and I believe she is either under a sleeping curse or is a swan - 2 of the 3 (Rook, Bishop, Queen) will defeat the villain and then they will rescue the King.

Well now that I have your wishes, you really don't have to rush and answer these asks. :D Just answer whenever you find time. :) The food seems to be major difference in many cultures, and I love learning about what other people traditionally eat on certain holidays. I have to say turrón and garrapiñadas look so good. I love anything with almonds (and other nuts). I've tried Panettone and it's tasty as well, surprisingly moist for such a dry looking cake. (1/3) -CSSS
We also have a traditional Christmas cake made with walnuts, and a bean dish. I'd tell you the names but it might reveal my location. :D Especially the cake one since my mom's recipe is the first one on Google search. (she has a cooking blog) I love watching fireworks too, can't wait for that. I'm hoping for some snow too. - CSSS (2/3)
Anyways, since you're rebloging s7 stuff, I'm curious to know how do you like it so far? I'm watching for rogers/knight rook, the rest is okay I guess, but yeah mostly here for those two. Have a great weekend; I hope it's less busy than the rest of the week was. TTYL - CSSS (3/3) P.S. I hate character limit in an ask. :D
Your mom has a cooking blog! ohhh you have to show that one to me once you reveal yourself! I LOVE cooking s much.
As for season 7, I’m truly loving it. It has a few things that I didn’t enjoy (the thing that I refuse to acknowledge happened) but other than that I think it’s a solid one so far. I love Colin doing Rogers and the KR storyline and I think he’s killing it this season. I love the take on a Latina Cinderella so much and I’m drawn to Jacinda like I haven’t been to other characters in a long time. I walked into S7 thinking this was going to be something new with the same flavor as it was and so far it’s delivering. Is it the best TV ever? probably not, but I find myself enjoying a lot of the new characters like Alice, Sabine and Ivy. And the Bobby/Colin scenes are catnip. Plain and simple.
Did you see Roger’s car? I AM SO GONE.
I wrote a fic 3 years ago called Separate Lives in which Killian left SB to become a cop in New Jersey and a lot of Rogers in there is how I’ve envisioned him as Detective Jones so I am SO here for it

Bracket Flames: Perpetual disappointment Gonzaga to hush haters
yahoo
When Kris Bryant’s throw popped the mitt of Anthony Rizzo in Cleveland last November, the Chicago Cubs’ 108-year championship drought mercifully ended. For loyal families who waited generations for that moment, anxiety instantly gave way to an intoxicating euphoria.
What a magical run.
[Fill out your NCAA tournament bracket here | Printable version]
Five months later, Gonzaga is college basketball’s equivalent of the triumphant 2016 Cubs, a team everyone doubts because of history, but will finally deliver.
Ok, Northwestern counts too.
Since making its first memorable mark on the hoops scene in 1999, the small Jesuit school in Spokane has evolved from pushover to powerhouse. At first under Dan Monson and for the last 18 seasons, Mark Few, it has averaged 27.7 wins per year during that stretch, nearly matching the production of traditional bluebloods Kansas, Kentucky and North Carolina.
Though Gonzaga has achieved an incredible level of success and turned several players into household names – Dan Dickau, Adam Morrison, Ronny Turiaf, Blake Steppe, Kelly Olynyk, Domantas Sabonis and others recall fond memories – the annual postseason “dark horse” suffered many unexpected early exits. Over its stretch of 18-consecutive NCAA Tournament appearances, it never blazed a trail to the Final Four and fell before the Round of 16 an astonishing 11 times, leaving many bandwagoners feeling acrimonious.
The Bulldogs’ second-round elimination by Wichita St. in 2013 was the pinnacle of their disappointment. That year they steamrolled unblemished through conference play, entered the Dance atop the AP and Coaches ranks and were awarded their first ever No. 1 seed. The parallels to this season are eerily similar.
Throw in the typical “not battle-tested” cries due to the generally weak nature of the West Coast Conference outside St. Mary’s and therein lies the foundation for why many bracketologists, both amateur and expert, will select another school in their Pick ‘em pools.
Gonzaga is the top dog in the West and is a Final Four frontrunner, despite the detractors. (AP)
However, follow the herd this year and you’ll sorely regret it.
Scribble it in permanent ink; this is Gonzaga’s year.
Here are five reasons why the Bulldogs will finally live up to the promise and carve out a coveted spot in the Final Four:
Balance. According to KenPom.com, Gonzaga is one of a few of teams since 2010 to rank inside the top-10 nationally in adjusted offensive and defensive efficiency. Other members of that group – 2010 Duke, 2012 Ohio St., 2015 Kentucky and 2016 Villanova – either attended the Final Four or won a national championship. Consistency on both ends is paramount for any team to make a deep run. The ‘Zags undoubtedly have it.
Frontcourt depth. Unlike previous iterations, this year’s Bulldogs can overcome whistles. Shem Karnowski is their primary post option, but it to doesn’t end with the ‘Polish Shaq.’ Freshmen towers Zach Collins and Killian Tillie have contributed meaningful minutes, averaging a combined 14.8 points and 8.8 rebounds per game. Underrated power forward Jonathan Williams provides another layer. He’s athletic, extremely active around the basket and can knock down the occasional jumper. And don’t label Karnowski some lane-clogging oaf. For a dude listed at 7-foot-1, 300-pounds, his touch, defensive awareness and passing skills are sensational. If the opposition doesn’t possess bulk to match, Gonzaga’s size simply wears you down.
Veteran guards. No one has mentioned Nigel Williams-Goss in the same breath as Wooden Award candidates Frank Mason, Lonzo Ball, Josh Hart or Caleb Swanigan, but he deserves consideration. The Washington transfer is the fifth-most efficient player, regardless of position, per KenPom. He explodes off the dribble, nets 37 percent from downtown, distributes the rock crisply and is a menace at the free throw line (91.3 FT%). Throw in sharpshooter Jordan Matthews and experienced ball handlers Josh Perkins and Silas Melson and the ‘Zags showcase arguably the best backcourt in the nation. As most would agree, guard play is paramount in a single-elimination format. In that category, Gonzaga boasts an embarrassment of riches.
Killer instinct. Including their marquee triumphs over Florida, Arizona and Iowa St. in non-conference play, the ‘Zags largely pancaked the competition. The WCC’s meek posed no match, even St. Mary’s, a team that was fixed inside the AP top-25 for much of the season. Gonzaga’s 23.1 average scoring margin was tops in all of college basketball, and it wasn’t close. Wichita St. ranked second with 19.6. Deride it all you want for playing the Pacifics of the world, but it’s hard to dispute its foot-to-throat mentality. Like a zombie horde, the Bulldogs are relentlessly bloodthirsty.
Decreased pressure. Most immediately wrote off the ‘Zags after their shocking home defeat to BYU, on senior night no less. But the misstep was a blessing in disguise. Historically, coaches placed in similar situations said losing before the NCAA Tournament was beneficial (e.g. Bruce Weber with Illinois in 2005). No longer shouldering the burden of chasing perfection and the ’76 Indiana Hoosiers, the setback allowed Few’s bunch, who the coach admitted after the loss was at times playing too loose, to jerk the reins and refocus. As the old adage sats, “What doesn’t kill you makes you stronger.” In the case of the Bulldogs, the lingering bitterness will only further motivate them to silence doubters.
As the No. 1 seed in the West, Gonzaga is sure to have friendly crowds in the stands. A number of potential pitfalls await – Arizona and Notre Dame would present challenges – but its few weaknesses and general fortitude arrow to it to finally getting over the Final Four hump and likely a national title.
BRACKET FLAMES Here are four additional underdogs (No. 5 seeds or lower) from each region that could channel Cinderella:
Michigan Wolverines 24-11, No. 7 seed, Midwest region) – The Wolverines are much like their Marvel namesake, a team with superior healing power and superhuman abilities. Thus far the story of March, Michigan, after a harrowing plane crash, improbably rolled through the Big Ten Tournament untouched, practice apparel and all. With its temperature soaring, to call it “dangerous” would be a terrible understatement. Derrick Walton Jr., who dropped 16 dimes in Michigan’s final regular season game at Nebraska, has rocketed his game to the stratosphere. His impeccable court vision, off-dribble abilities and scoring prowess both inside and out labels him a complete point guard. Match him with versatile weapons Mo Wagner, D.J. Wilson, Muhammad-Ali Abdur-Rahkman, Duncan Robinson and a suddenly scorching Zak Irvin and the Wolverines, who space the floor beautifully, present many matchup problems. If they continue to tickle the twine from outside (38.1 3PT%) and exhibit the same staunch defense it exuded in the Big Ten prelude (1.00 points per possession allowed), they will represent the Midwest in the Final Four. And, no, I don’t own any Chris Weber throwback jerseys.
Wichita St. Shockers (30-4, No. 10 seed, South region) – Back in the underrated role, the most controversial school pre-tourney earned a surprising No. 10 seed from the Selection Committee, a slotting that surely had folks in Lexington audibly gasp. This is the deepest Shockers team in recent memory. Yes, it’s better than the Ron Baker and Fred VanVleet teams many fondly recall. Gregg Marshall’s crew are wonderfully balanced. On the offensive side, Wichita performs at a high level. It nets 1.19 points per possession (No. 12 nationally), drains 40.7 percent from downtown, generates plentiful second-chance opportunities, swings the ball effectively and rarely shoots itself in the foot. On the opposite end, the Shockers are equally impactful. They rank inside the top-20 overall in five different categories, including points per possession allowed and three-point percentage D. Its interior beef – Shaq Morris, Darral Willis, Markis McDuffie and Rashard Kelly list at 6-foot-7 plus – and long-distance accuracy – Larry Shamet and Connor Frankamp shoot a combined 45 percent beyond the arc – are very impressive. Yes, Wichita’s level of competition was suboptimal, but it bludgeoned opponents, leading the nation in average margin of victory. A 7/10-game winner has marched onto the second round 19 of the last 20 years. This season, the Missouri Valley rep is slated to deliver the Shocker special.
Bucknell Bison (26-8, No. 13 seed, West region) – In a largely chalk region it’s important to remember to fear the Buck. Though it played mostly bland competition in the Patriot, it undercut Vanderbilt in non-conference play and honed its craft in league action. The Bison aren’t as experienced as many veteran-laden mid-major clubs, but they are equipped to compete against high-major competition. They splash nearly 38 percent from three, convert close to 55 percent inside the arc and concede only 1.00 point per possession on defense. Specifically, Nana Foulland, the Patriot League Player of the Year, excels at a high level offensively, tallying nearly 63 percent from the field. His back-to-the-basket game and firmness inside the paint defensively are tough to manage. Rebounding isn’t Bucknell’s strongest attribute, but it’s an assertive team on both ends capable of competing with teams with greater accolades. West Virginia, its opening round opponent, presents a unique matchup. The Mountaineers’ press defense typically coaxes mistakes, but the grit, balance and improved ball-security of Bucknell could turn a Stephen F. Austin trick. Recall the Lumberjacks bounced West Virginia in Round 1 last year. If Zach Thomas, Stephen Brown and Kimbal Mackenzie – they collectively shoot over 40 percent from three – uncork outside, the Mountaineers will experience deja vu.
UNC-Wilmington Seahawks (29-5, No. 12 seed, East region) – Hundred dollar bills in Vegas, Mr. 4.22 John Ross, your run-of-the-mill cheetah and UNC-Wilmington … What do they all have in common? They all move insanely fast. Speed is the name of the game for the Colonial rep. It pushes the gas to exhaust opponents and take advantage of its bevy of efficient scorers. As a unit, the Seahawks rip the cords at an average rate of 1.18 points per possession, top-20 nationally in the category. Though 34.5 percent of their production comes from distance, the presence of Devontae Cacok inside strikes a balance. The 6-foot-7, 240-pound center is the country’s most proficient scorer, tallying a nutty 78.9 effective field-goal percentage. Flanked by sharpshooters Ambrose Mosley, C.J. Bryce, Denzel Ingram and Chris Flemmings, Cacok and friends are a Gatling gun personified. They simply fire one shot after another with remarkable accuracy. Equally important, they play controlled surrendering the fewest turnovers of any Division I team. Defense, though, is no doubt their Achilles heel. They rank north of No. 185 in four different categories. However, because of their ability to apply pressure (20.4 TO%), their defense often leads to easy buckets. Depth is a major problem, but if the ‘Hawks fly high outside, they will be this year’s classic No. 12 over No. 5 darling. Apologies, Virginia fans.
TOURNEY TIDBITS Fun facts/trends about the Big Dance:
• At least one No. 12 seed has advanced beyond the opening round 14 of the past 17 years. In the second round No. 12s are 20-27 (42.5%) all-time. On a related note, No. 11s and No. 12s have won the exact number of opening round games (34.9%) since 1985.
• A No. 16 has never defeated a No. 1, though Alonzo Mourning still wakes up in cold sweats about Princeton.
• Since 2000, No. 13 seeds have survived the opening round in just 20.3 percent of its attempts; No. 14s 16.4 percent.
• No. 15 seeds are 8-120 all-time, though last season Middle Tennessee St. stunned Michigan St. in Round 1.
• First Four winners have had considerable success. In the six years of their existence, one has reached the Round of 32 every year, including Wichita St. in 2016. Three of those six years one marched onto the Sweet Sixteen.
