“this is just bait” “is this satire?” i mean all the replies took op seriously so uhh. i think its at least a common post type. and if even if this particular post is just rage bait etc. well! as a floridian i can still tell you that this attitude IS so painfully common, even if the wording isn’t as openly cruel and out of touch.

of all the ways to word this they managed to pick the worst one

#‘i can’t believe that major hurricane irma/michael/idalia/helene/milton ruined my beach/theme park trip’ hey! entire communities were wiped #out. don’t get me wrong i understand the crushing disappointment of a canceled trip okay i know the money and time and planning that goes #into a trip. especially if these kinds of trips are rare due to finances/time off/etc. but 1) 90% of those comments are NOT coming from #people who rarely travel. it’s the annual pass holders it’s the american airlines premium members or whatever.#and 2) the last place to vent that disappointment is the fucking internet. lament with a fellow disappointed trip goer. call a friend.#have empathy for those affected donate if you can log off reddit and begin planning a new trip or something
