the knife padme concept art is cool & fun and i don’t blame anyone for only remembering “padme was supposed to try and kill anakin”, but . to meeeeeee the best and most tragic part of that concept is when padme holds the knife to anakin’s throat, he doesn’t fight back, he lets her.! she can’t go through with it, but he would’ve let her ! padme trying to talk anakin down and get through to him speaks more to the core of who she is (and who luke is, very important parallel here) but anakin being willing to die by padme’s hand in the middle of his murder spree feels so true blue gothic to me, i do mourn that
