And here’s the last of Elizabeth Masen’s closet! First up is a circa 1905 lace and batiste peignoir (basically a super thin robe/dressing gown) and a pair of silk stockings (c.1900):

On to shoes:

From the top:
1900 c. green leather shoes by Hellstern and Sons
1900 c. bicycling boots, brown leather with the original laces
1900 c. Evening shoes, American Silk, glass beads, metal beads
1900-05 c. Cross-Strap Boots, kidskin leather with iridescent metallic finish, leather soles, metallic bead embellishment, Louis XV heels

1905 c. Kid leather shoes with grosgrain ribbon stripes on toes
Obviously, Louis XV heels were very popular at the time -- they’re on every pair here even though the styles vary from athletic boots to dress shoes. (And tbh, I really want both those pairs of boots...) Okay, so on to gloves:

1900 c. silk evening gloves, Kayser-Roth Glove Co., Inc., American-- these would have come well up above the elbow and have been worn with a short sleeved evening gown. Next is a variety of kid leather gloves dating anywhere from 1900-10:

The longest ones could have been evening gloves, but most of these would have been worn in the daytime. It was typical for gloves to go up under your sleeve to mid-forearm, so there was no chance of you accidentally baring any skin. Fortunately, that type of repressive ridiculousness was slowly on the way out over the following decade.
So what next... hats!

1900-1910 c. velvet hat; label in the crown reads George Allen, Inc. 3 rue Bleue Paris 1214 Chestnut Street Philadelphia.
1905 c. hat; straw, tulle, and satin
1908 c Marie Rebouch wide-brim straw hat with original decoration
1908 c. plaited straw hat decorated with velvet flowers by Lucile
And last but not least, outerwear:

1905- Abercrombie & Fitch Co., Ladies' Cotton Duster (to wear while riding in or driving an automobile, to protect your clothing from the dust--you’d likely wear a veil with your hat as well, to protect your hair and face.)
1905-09 c. evening cloak
1906- fur ensemble. I love how you get the full picture here, not only to see it actually on a human being, but combined with the hat and the hair and the high-necked blouse and the pleated skirt (love it but I pity her maid having to iron it) and the gloves... Two thumbs up. :D
And we’re done!
