So I have a top 3, but I needed a top 6 because I feel like I can't leave the other 3 out. If we're being honest, It's amazing I stopped at 6. 🙈
#1: (to the surprise of absolutely no one) Thomas Orson Hunt
I love him so much. I can't even explain how much I love him, and to be honest there isn't just one thing about him. I just fell in love with all of him. I love his passion. I love his determination. I love his brilliance. I love how deeply he cares (even if he doesn't always show it). He is such an incredible character and one that was developed wonderfully in Hollywood U and brought to Red Carpet Diaries (and developed less well) but still I love him in every universe. And he and Alex saved my life. Writing them, finding this community, helped me when I needed something so I will always love them and the life I've created for them.
#2: Bryce Lahela
While I originally romanced Bryce and Ethan, I ultimately chose Ethan. It made sense. He is basically Thomas Hunt. They have such similar personalities and the parallels between Ethan and MC was fun to explore with Thomas and Alex. But then the pandemic hit and I needed something different and I found Bryce. He went from someone I started writing just to explore to #2. I can't imagine a world where I didn't find him and then Olivia through him. Bryce's confidence and love of life is infectious. He is a ray of sunshine in a cloudy world. I am so grateful to have found him and fall in love with the amazing character he is.
#3 Mal Volari
I just love him. He is gorgeous and sexy and I love him (did I say that already?). Mal is cocky and full of himself, but he also has this other side that is tender and soft. He cares so much more than he is willing to admit. I loved learning about his life through Blades, but also I love the headcanons I created for him. (I might love my version of Mal more than the canon one, but that's okay). Mal may be wanted, but he's a good guy and he deserves a happy ending after the life he's been through. I adore him (and Daenarya) starting an orphange. It was the only future I saw for him that truly captured how I saw him and how he could do the most good and I can't even believe that became canon somehow.
Honorable Mentions:
Ethan Ramsey: While there was a time he was #2, he still deserves a spot in the top 6. He reminds me of Thomas and I loved exploring Thomas and Alex's relationship with Ethan and Ellie in Love & Scotch. I promise one day to finish it. I just kind of fell out of practice writing Ethan.
Levi Schuler: He is everything. I love that he was so patient with Laura/MC. He was always there, but never pushed. He really is such a good guy, and I'm a sucker for musicians that are also kind. He truly is amazing.
Troy Hassan: Oh, Troy. Troy is Troy and I love him for that. He knows who he is and he is confident in himself. I love his love of old world things. I think the nostalgia of that drew me to him. I like to think he'd be a big fan of 80s and 90s fads and if he could get his hands on things, he'd be like a kid in a candy store. I totally head canon he finds a ring pop and proposes to Astraea with it!

Hooba Design Group clads Tehran office building in brick panels that adjust to the sunlight
Local architecture studio Hooba Design Group has completed an office building for the Sharif University of Technology in Tehran, Iran, which features a smart brick facade that adapts to different times of the day.
The Sharif Office Building was designed as a communal workspace for the Sharif Innovation Zone next to the university. It was built on top of an existing concrete structure that forms the ground floor of the building.
Top image and above: the Sharif Office Building is located next to the university in Tehran
This was expanded and completed with modifications based on Hooba Design Group's new design, which features specially-made smart-brick panels that adjust according to the sunlight.
To create the facade Hooba Design Group designed a brick that took its cue from the 1940s-style bricks that clad the nearby university buildings. The studio's version is larger, with a cut-out in the middle that is the same dimension as the traditional bricks.
Its facade is made from specially-designed bricks
"The intention was to reinterpret the traditional brick used in the university buildings, using industrial bricks," Hooba Design Group founder Hooman Balazadeh told Dezeen.
"The hole in this brick gives a semi-transparent character to the solid block."
These bricks, which were manufactured by Azarakhsh Bricks exclusively for the project, are set on panels equipped with light sensors that adjust according to the sunlight throughout the day.
These are set on panels that adjust to the sunlight
"They adjust based on lighting patterns and the required light exposure in the interior spaces," Balazadeh explained.
"Sensors are programmable based on two different scenarios and are set up based on user preferences in each floor."
Sharif Office Building has communal workspaces and offices
Designing the facade from brick but using new technology was a nod to the nearby 1960s brick-clad university buildings, as well as the fact that the Sharif Office Building will house students working on technological innovations.
The 7,200 square-metres building (77,500 square feet) will house the Bon Tech Institute, which was initiated by the Sharif University of Technology as a research-based communal working space for students.
It was built on an existing concrete structure. Photo is by Mohammad Hassan Ettefagh
"The aim of this group was to provide the students with adequate facilities for research and investigation and to reduce the huge amount of brain drain from the country," Balazadeh explained.
Sharif Office Building will have offices as well as common spaces, including a meeting space and a cafeteria which will be connected to the outdoors and the university commons. Inside, the offices are open and semi-open, separated by interior green spaces.
Its double skin helps to reduce energy consumption
Its design also took the surrounding environment into consideration,
"The double skin used in this project helps to control the sun heat exposure in the climate of Tehran and eventually reduces energy consumption during the hot season," Balazadeh said.
Hooba Design Group also designed a new type of brick for an earlier project, the headquarters of brick manufacturer Kohan Ceram, while its design for the Aptus concrete factory had an all-concrete envelope.
Photography is by Parham Taghioff unless otherwise stated.

Vinyl memories: Of cricket, mutton curry and a gruffy Dylan
New Post has been published on https://latestnews2018.com/vinyl-memories-of-cricket-mutton-curry-and-a-gruffy-dylan/
Vinyl memories: Of cricket, mutton curry and a gruffy Dylan
Vinyl records making a glorious comeback on music store shelves tell the tale of a remarkable rekindling of childhood memories for many a music lover
A husky, gruffy noise emanated from the speaker as the stylus needle caressed the grooves of the 45 RPM (revolutions per minute, for the uninitiated) long-playing (LP) vinyl record. That HMV radiogram was such a wonder — my first brush with personal music and a home audio system. Asha Bhosle or Boney M on the turntable, aroma of fresh mutton — carefully treated with a delectable concoction of spices by mummy dear — wafting through the house, and cricket on that dirt strip called ‘neighbourhood road’ would serve as the precursor to a perfect Sunday lunch and beyond!
Growing up in Dum Dum, in the northern fringes of the eastern Indian metropolis of Kolkata, in the early 1970s, the sheer proximity to the His Master’s Voice (HMV) factory was something to brag about. HMV, then the largest music company in India, was quite a household name and very much a brand to reckon with in an age and time when brand-loyalties were more esoteric in terms of their association with life as it was and not quite dictated by a gadget freak’s now-or-never push for a ‘been-there-done-that’ proclamation.
The day father brought home the HMV radiogram, it marked my initiation into the world of music — the sheer joy of being able to be in command of what one loved to listen to and not necessarily dependent on what the All India Radio programme presenter thought music ought to be. The turntable had indeed marked a turnaround of sorts, in our household and with our next-door neighbours as well, bringing home entertainment in the pre-television days to the front-and-centre of community living.
In the months and years that followed, from Bengali ‘modern’ songs to The Ventures, from Kishore Kumar’s evergreen Bollywood hits to Nazia Hassan’s chartbusting Disco Deewane … life was a breeze and the Sundays in particular were the icing on the cake – with gully (a narrow lane) cricket and mutton curry being the other pieces that completed an exciting, sonorous and aromatic jigsaw called childhood.
But by the time one Michael Jackson took all of us by storm with his Thriller in 1982, there was a new fad in town — the cassette tape. Slowly, but surely, the bulky turntable and the unwieldy vinyl LP were losing out to the sheer portability factor of a cassette player and the compact size and format of a spooled tape in a handy plastic casing. Over and above the advantage of being able to listen to ‘music I love’, a cassette tape-recorder offered the new-age audience the added benefit of recording every bit of ambient noise: The music — and the cacophony as well! No wonder even the almost puritanical behemoths at HMV decided to churn out more cassettes than LPs and more tape-recorders than turntables. Soon, my growing love for the cassette turned the tables on our good-old radiogram, forcing Baba to get a tape-recorder. “It’s the ‘in’ thing,” I reasoned with him. Shelves at music stores in Kolkata and practically the world over had fewer and fewer vinyls and an ever-growing number of cassettes. And by the time I reached college in the early 1990s, a glistening CD hi-fi system had replaced the Bush tape-recorder on the front-room entertainment unit. Compact discs were the way to go — digitally stored, crystal clear, lossless audio, played in any order of preference.
But the Sundays were never quite the same. Without that gruffy note picked up by the turntable stylus and the gully no more coming alive with rambunctious ‘would-be’ cricketing heroes, even the aroma of mutton curry still wafting through the house had somehow lost its allure. We have really taken our entertainment indoors – from the gully to the TV screens, from the radiogram’s community feel to the privacy of hand-held devices and those ubiquitous smartphone-era paraphernalia called earphones and headphones.
That is why, almost four decades later, when I see vinyl making a glorious comeback to Virgin Megastore shelves today, I cannot but feel happy — that my childhood memories, my first brush with the whirl of the black rubber mat on the turntable and the gently swaying bent arm of the stylus still have enough stylistic rectitude to hold its relevance for a generation that has grown up on a heavy diet of all things digital.
Sitting in Dubai, as I write this piece, my iPhone ‘pings’ an alert from Amazon: ‘The Essential Bob Dylan in a two-LP set is now available.’ I am tempted to send a quick message to my son in India: “Do you know what a vinyl record is?” Pat comes the reply: “Yes, I’ve checked a couple of YouTube videos. It doesn’t impress me … I need to carry all my music on the go.”
I reach out for the phone again, to log in to my Amazon Prime account. Time to order that Denon DP29F mini turntable. Time for initiation — time to send one more ‘digital addict’ on an analogue ‘crash course’. And then perhaps the two of us shall exchange notes — 20 years hence.

If you are interested in architecture who related of the north & east Africa civilizations, you should read this book. Author of the book : Hassan Fathy, an Egyptian architect saw the value of natural building long before it became a fad in the west. Fathy wrote in this book : “They needed decent houses, but houses are expensive. In large towns capitalists are attracted by the returns from investment in housing, and public bodies…frequently provide extensive accommodation for the citizens, but neither capitalists nor the state seem willing to undertake the provision of peasant houses…”

Losing weight is not easy, anyone who has tried to do it knows how much hard work and self-control is involved in the process. It really is a very difficult task. However what is even more difficult is gaining back health once it is lost. Health is one of God’s greatest blessings to us. Without good health we can do very limited amount of things. When something is so precious it is very important that we take very good care of it. Some people while trying to lose weight put themselves through such strains and obstacles that in the process of losing the weight they end up destroying their health. In this article we shout out loud, lose weight, don’t lose health.
Losing weight if you are overweight is of course always very healthy. But there are ways to lose the weight properly. If you want some short cuts in the process then you will end up making more mistakes and destroying your health. We cannot stress enough that lose weight, don’t lose health in the process.

Taking pills and medicines
You must have seen ads that claim that taking their pill everyday for a month can make you slim or shed weight very quickly. These are usually very harmful and dangerous medicine. Firstly they are just trying to mint your money. Money is their sole agenda. They would send you attractive sales men that would show you fake stories about how magically their miracle product made people weight lose. You would take the medicine and the only thing that will change is you have emptier pockets. On the weight front you would be same as before. So taking medicines by seeing ads on TV or in newspaper or online is not a good idea. Consult a proper doctor before taking any medication. If you want to follow our mantra of “Lose weight, don’t lose health” keep away from these short cut pills.
Starving yourself out
Starving is never good. If you lose weight with starving, you will gain it back very quickly once you start eating again because lets be real, for how long can you starve anyway. Abnormal eating habits can also cause you to have eating disorders like bulimia or anorexia. Just change your unhealthy eating habits and replace them with healthy ones. Lower down the carbs, and raise the proteins. Instead of starving, why don’t you go vegetarian for a while. You will see a big change if you increase the intake of green leafy vegetables and fruits in your diet and leave off carbs. Even if you do not quit bread completely, there is an extremely healthy option available and that is to consume whole wheat bread and flour.
Remember there are no shortcuts to lose weight. If you lose weight in a healthy way only then can you sustain it for a long time.

Too much exercise
As excess of everything is bad, excess of good and healthy things is bad too. Although working out and exercising is great but overdoing it can cause serious harm to yourself and to your body. If you are new to working out remember you have to start off light. You cannot just one day go to the gym and start sweating yourself up for hours. It will only end up giving you excruciating pain and exhaustion. You will get demotivated to try out the work out again and give up soon thinking it is too much.
All this happened because you tried the wrong way to lose weight. If you are new to exercising it is best to hire proper trainer in the beginning. If it is too much for you to afford, read a lot online. There are a number of weight loss and exercising guides available for newbies. After a thorough study start the workout by doing simple and easy steps first. Remember big athlete’s also first stretch out a little before starting out the real exercise, so you also need to start off light and then move on to the heavy stuff, to save your body from lots of stress and fatigue.

Liposuction or tummy tuck for quick weight loss
Liposuction means to remove excessive fat from the body from areas where fat seems to accumulate like tummy or thighs. Although people say that there are no side effects of liposuction but that is wrong. First and foremost, excessive lumpiness of the skin can occur when fat is removed from the body. Other side effects that may happen include deep vein thrombosis, organ perforation, internal bleeding or infection. Also if after the liposuction the diet is not controlled then the fat will return after a few months and all your efforts will go in vein.
Also as we have mentioned earlier too, there are no short cuts to weight loss. Apart from a small amount, in one go you cannot take out a lot of fat from the body. It is harmful and can result in serious consequences. So if you are thinking that you can get all your weight removed in one go, there is bad news for you, this is not how things work out.
Just like any surgical process, this one will also take a toll on the body and requires a recovery time. There will be pain and weakness. If you are removing fat from twin parts like thighs or upper arms remember you would need two surgeries, thus the risks of harmful side effects doubles up.

Wrong weight loss motivation, Lose weight, don’t lose health
It is very important that you lose weight, don’t lose health but that is possible if you have the right motivations behind it. if you are doing it just because it is a fad or because all your friends are doing it and you do not want to be left out although your heart is not in it, the best advice would be not to do it. if you want to lose weight, don’t lose health you must be clear on these points.
Know why you are doing it and it must have something good for you strongly at the core.
Have set goals, know where you are standing right now and where you want to go from there.
Choose a healthy path to go to your goal and then stick to it.
So friends my advice in the end is same as that in the beginning lose weight, don’t lose health because health is the most expansive and important thing in the world. Without health you cannot do anything but with a good health shedding of a little weight would be a piece of cake.
