featured at this holiday art show will be several trees decorated with handmade ornaments by artists in the area, many other art pieces (including sculptures, wall paintings, photography pieces, etc), and three separate artists selling their creations, which includes myself selling my poetry books (both covers featured below)!!

PLEASE stop by and support local artists in the Midwestern US — or, if you can't, PLEASE REBLOG!!! we love having guests in our gallery and it means so much to have visitors during shows like this, even if you can't buy anything or donate.

Artist Cole Swanson's new exhibit, The Hissing Folly, looks at Durham Region’s ecological landscape and the invasive species phragmites (European common reed) a perennial grass that spreads quickly and out-competes native species for water and nutrients. Working with the Central Lake Ontario Conservation Authority, phragmites were removed from the ecologically-sensitive Thickson’s Woods Land Trust. The harvest was thatched for a multidisciplinary installation in the Loft Gallery of the Visual Art Centre of Clarington. February 2, 2020.
