It's a lazy Sunday morning, and Stephanie makes scrambled eggs and turkey bacon by the stove as Riley chats with the kids. "Ren, you want to hear something cool?" Nancy asks. "Sure, Nan." Riley says, their eyes crinkling at the corners as they smile. "Okay. Legend goes that medieval people came here a long time ago and they got confused by a lady who was a tarot reader, Raven something. Anyway, the people were so hungry but when they saw a goat, they followed her instead of eating her. She led them to a place where there was so much food and stuff, and they were so happy that they named the place after the tarot lady Ravenwood and made a statue of the goat in Crow's Crossing." Nancy says, her brown eyes wide as she finishes recounting the story.

Riley smiles, and Stephanie lets out a "Wow," too. "That is cool. Where did you learn all that?" Riley asks. "Grandma took me to the library to look stuff up, and I read a kid's book about the town's history." Nancy says, and Riley nods. "You and Ru are so smart and I'm proud of you two." They say, smiling at both their nooboos. Nancy and Haruo beam at this. "They get it from me," Stephanie adds playfully and Riley laughs. "You're right, baby," They say, and to the kids' chagrin, they snuggle Stephanie from behind and put their head on her shoulder so they can kiss her cheek.

After breakfast, Nancy gets permission to go outside, promising her parents she won't go to the haunted well again. Instead, she wanders around the town and takes in the sights. She stops by the statue of Moppy the goat and grins as she views it, thinking of the legend of Moppy. After doodling a photo of the statue and jotting down a few notes in the notebook her parents gifted her, she heads back to her grandparents' house.

So, I didn't know this til I saw @nitrozem 's post, but apparently there's a static TV option that let's your sim see a the Ring-like scary video with Edith in it and spooks them. I goofed by only taking a photo of the static but it was definitely creepy and cool. I had Nancy watch, and she got a bit spooked but less then I would have. I think mostly she just misses her friend Edith and hopes she's okay all by herself in that well in Ravenwood.

Also, Sophia gifts Riley a Super dream cube gaming system, which they used to play mysims racing on as kids. Riley’s eyes light up, and they help their sister set it up at the TV as the kids and Stephanie chat on the couch. Once it's finished, Riley, Sophia, Nancy, and Haruo play party frenzy together while Stephanie goes to her room to rest. "You're going down, sis." Riley says to Sophia, who raises a brow. "Oh sure, Ri. It's not as if I'm the party frenzy champion," She says, grinning at her older sibling.

After that, Riley checks in with Stephanie. "Everything okay, baby?" They ask, and Stephanie nods. "Yeah, I'm fine. I love your family, but sometimes when there's too many people and too much noise and things going on, I just need to take a breather in a calm and quiet place*." She admits and Riley nods, pulling her close and kissing her cheek. "That's understandable, would you want to stay here? I'll tell my parents and Soph that you're resting." They suggest. "That's okay, I'll head out with you." Stephanie says, and Riley takes her hand, squeezing it reassuringly.

Stephanie joins everyone outside, and her father-in-law Minato calls her over to ask a question about his phone setting. Meanwhile, Nancy makes hot chocolate with marshmallows for everyone, and Haruo snuggles up to auntie Sophia. "You're such a snugglebug. Just like your parent was as a kid." She says. "Really? Ren was a snugglebug?" Haruo says. "Yup, it was kinda cute although we'd have to split it with me snuggling mom and Ri snuggling dad so we wouldn't fight." She says and Haruo grins. "I guess that makes sense. They're always snuggling me, Nan, or mama now." He says.

This dude is literally never active on anything, maybe except WhatsApp, emails and messages. Even then he constantly (intentionally) leaves people on delivered and on read, working on his muscles is more important than whoever is texting him. He probably uses YouTube the most out of every other social media platform, just because he thinks it is very easy to find information on how to build his muscles more (though books are his number one source).

Kaneda Suekichi

This dude has instagram, facebook, twitter and tumblr. He posts stuff rarely. Gets bombarded by the other three with memes and pictures of hot girls. He has blocked all of them at some point beacuse they were being annoying. Him and Himuro have catfished Lihito and Okhubo (they still get teased about this to this day).

Kanoh Agito

Sayaka definetly made him an Instagram account when she was younger, he still uses it to this day. It's private and he mainly posts like uncle/dad photos (yk those very close up selfies where they're squinting looking at the phone, with like a scenery behing them). Sayaka and Metsudo always leave cute comments under his posts and he tried to give the same energy back but its like super formal when he does.

Kaolan Wongsawat

He runs an account promoting tourist places in Thailand on instagram and facebook, with quite a large following. He also has private accounts where only the closest of family and friends follow him (hes a very private man in general). I think he does post semi frequently, but its just like one simple photo per post maybe a photo of him or like some scenery. He soesnt overdo the photos of himself as he doesnt want to seem self centered, afterall he is dedicated to being king Ramas body guard so he does have to be humble. Also let me tell u this man is NOT afraid to block people.

Kono Haruo

The king of the internet, he has basically any app you could think of. Instagram, tik tok, tumblr, twitter, discord, reddit, snapchat, pinterest etc. Though youll never catch him on facebook. He will carry you on any online game and he will argue with people in his servers. Even though hes always online he'll rarely post actuall pictures on his accounts. On the rare occasion he does its probably him, seki and the other wretslers hanging out. (These posts are vv cute)

“Umm...what is it, Haruo?”

“You got to check this out, darling!”, they exclaimed proudly, yet didn’t elaborate. Keebo got up and followed them.

“Check out...what?”

With a grin, the influencer showed them their smartphone and another post of them. It was a picture of them and Keebo smooching, during the spring festival both wearing kimonos in purple and light green respectively.

“This pic got me 9000 likes, darling!”, they explained to the confused robot with a grin. “People ship us!”

“Ship...us?”

“Yes, darling! They fw our relationship!”

“Fw....I am not sure, I understand.”, Keebo mused, as Haruo rolled their eyes.

“It’s fucking simple, darling. They like us, our relationship. And this will give me even more followers!”

“I....see. You certainly still seem to care a lot about your account.”, Keebo noted.

“Sure do, darling. Heh....It is my job after all and it makes me love myself even more...”

“Right....”

Haruo noticed Keebo’s frown, so they quickly grabbed their hand.

“Don’t be sulky, darling. You are so fucking important to me, remember that.”

“Really?”, Keebo asked confused. “You...don’t see me as a tool, to boost your engagement? Like...when we first met?”

Haruo’s smile dropped, the memories of their first meeting lingering onto their mind. With a sigh, they turned away and shook their head.

“You ain’t a tool, Keebs. Back then, I didn’t see ya as a living being that’s fucking true. But....now...”

They faced the robot again and gave them a serious look.

“I am being serious. I love ya, Keebs. The way you always are so sweet and so considerate and the fact that you got the dorkiest and cutest personality on top of that. I.....I wouldn’t choose anyone else over you?”

“R...really? Even though....you cannot make love with me?”

“Who the hell cares about that?!”, Haruo snapped angrily. “If I want that, I wouldn’t have dated ya to begin with. Hell no, I don’t fucking care if you are a human or robot. Cuz for me...”

They blushed and fiddled with their hands in that moment, their self-confident persona dropping.

“...for me, you are my fucking soulmate.”

“Haruo...”

Keebo rubbed his arm and began to smile at the influencer, before giving them a hug. Haruo gasped surprised, their cheeks turning bright pink.

“Thanks...”, Keebo told them and Haruo chuckled flustered.

“Your welcome, darling. Now...how bout some more pics?”, they told him and grinned. “Don’t worry, these will only be for us and no one else. Cuz...I wanna treasure those moments with ya.”

“That....would be wonderful...”, Keebo noted shyly, the influencer laughing amused.

“Heh...ain’t ya the cutest little tin-man of unspecified gender.”, they mused and pecked their forehead gently, before turning around. “Now then.....smile for the camera.”

Keebo nodded and Haruo lifted their smartphone up, aiming for the camera. They turned on the button and as the countdown went down, Keebo suddenly kissed Haruo on the cheek at the last second. With a gasp, the picture was taken and they turned to Keebo embarrassed.

“Hey...what the hell gives?”

“Nothing.”, the robot mused, smiling proudly. “Just treasuring this moment is all.”

The influencer gave them a flustered look, before chuckling and lifting him up with ease.

“Heh...fair enough, my lil Keybay. Now..lemme smooch ya face, I got my favorite lipstick on too.”

What particular books are you referring to ?

There are many scholarly articles focusing on family dynamics in Japan, including sibling relationships. In particular, you can search for the prevalence of Confucian values in Japanese literature.

One author I follow who consistently writes about Japanese pop culture and connects it to the historical and cultural context is Deborah Shamoon.

Books/Articles I would recommend:

The Tale of Genji and the Aesthetics of Forbidden Love by Haruo Shirane

In general, I recommend reading books by Haruo Shirane as well as reading Tale of Genji at least once in your life.
