Hey everyone! So recently I've been going back through my posts in order to make a better ordered list for myself of what songs I've already featured, and because of that, I also started putting together some information about what Vocaloids and Producers have been featured on this blog the most so far! It was fun putting this together, so I figured I'd post the information as a little end-of-the year style thing!
Some of the exact numbers may be sliiiightly off, but they should be pretty close. And the numbers here are up to date through the song posted today (December 31st).
I'm hoping to start doing this as an annual thing, with updates to the rankings at the end of the year.
Also: as a quick secondary update- I have decided that this blog will start to feature songs using vocal synths of any kind, not just Vocaloid-specific songs. I still intend for Vocaloid characters to make up the majority of songs featured here (and I currently have a long queue lined up that still has only Vocaloids in it), but I will start to add other synths into the mix, and song suggestions are now open for solos featuring non-Vocaloid synths!
Anyway, without further ado: the rankings!
VOCALOIDS
By Vocaloid Name: # of songs they're featured in

someone needs to do a study on vocal synths that are more than one engine and have decent sized separate communities to them
since this is rlly long, please read under the cut if you're interested!
take Yuzuki Yukari for example. when she was first released in 2011, she was the first vocal synth to come as both a vocaloid and a voiceroid at the same time. however, that doesn't mean everyone sees her as both, and either leans into being seen as either. as of recent, yukari's on a couple synth engines, but primarily still being seen as either vocaloid or voiceroid
meanwhile, vocal synths that were initially released on one engine before being added to another (Kkzuna Akari, Kotonoha Akane & Aoi, Otomachi Una, etc) seem to lean more towards that first initial engine. however, Haruno Sora seems to be a special case, despite being similar to Yukari and being released on vocaloid & voiceroid at once. from how it seems, since vocaloid 5 wasn't doing so well at the time, Sora seemingly appears to be more well-known in the voiceroid community than the vocaloid
and i think it also really depends on the popularity of the engine as well because Tsurumaki Maki has been around since 2010 as a voiceroid, and was decently popular in that community. now it feels as though more people know her as she's on popular singing engines, cevio and synth v. at the same time, i've seen more usage of her synth v compared to her cevio
from my limited perspective, talk engines don't seem to do as well as singing ones, although there have a handful of insistences where i have seen them being used!
this isn't a major thing, but a more interesting thing to add is the shipping amongst the different communities. like i mentioned at the beginning, Yukari is popular on both vocaloid and voiceroid. in the vocaloid community, her most popular ship is with IA whereas in the voiceroid community, it's with Maki. similarly, Otomachi Una's most popular ship amongst vocaloid fans seem to be with Rana (tho i could be mistaken) while with voiceroid, it's with Tohoku Kiritan
the vocal synth community is built up on thousands of smaller communities, and i think it's smth that should be explored a bit more
#vocaloid#voiceroid#synthesizer v#synth v#vocal synth#mimi rambling#this is kinda messy and pretty incoherent of a ramble#but it’s smth i've been thinking of for a while now#i'll probably clean this up another time#but this is just getting my main points down

Alright so in my search for vocal synths that share voices with characters from fandoms I'm in, I had an easier time finding Danganronpa voices than anything.
By coincidence I saw today that Tohoku Zunko's VP also voiced my babygirl Yuzuki Mikage from Jigoku Shoujo, but I know I've also ran into over voices I know that weren't from my active fandoms and didn't write down. Like, one shared a voice with DID-misrepresentation queen Shinya Banba but I didn't even take note of who it was.
So, embarrassingly, my findings have been... (Japanese only)
JOJO'S BIZARRE ADVENTURE
- LUMi (VOCALOID) & Aya Tsuji (DiU), both voiced by Sayaka Ohara
DANGANRONPA
- Sato Sasara (CeVIO) & Ruruka Ando (DR3), both voiced by Inori Minase
- Suzuki Tsudumi (CeVIO) & Ibuki Mioda (DR2, Stage only), both interpreted by Anju Inami
- Otomachi Una (VOCALOID, VOICEROID) & Himiko Yumeno (DRV3), both voiced by Aimi Tanaka
- Yuzuki Yukari (VOCALOID, VOICEROID, CeVIO) & Hiroko Hagakure (DRAE), both voiced by Chihiro Ishiguro
- Haruno Sora (VOCALOID, VOICEROID, VOICEPEAK, Synthesizer V) & Kirumi Tojo (DRV3), both voiced by Kikuko Inoue
- Hatsune Miku (VOCALOID, Piapro) & Seiko Kimura (DR3), both voiced by Saki Fujita
...Hopefully, I didn't forget anyone. I hope to find more in the future, because it's fun. No guys yet... I think. Basically, if you want to make these characters talk or sing, you can more or less use these voicebanks, though they're not necessarily voice acted in the same way. I know Mcki Robyns-P used this opportunity by making their Himiko Yumeno fansong with Otomachi Una! (They didn't see my cover of their Komaeda fansong with Haruno Sora Lite, so I'm bummed, though... 😔) I don't know if other such voicebanks were used for similar means?
(Off the top of my head, Haruno Sora is the only one of these to have a free (Lite) version. If you also happen to like Jigoku Shoujo, Tohoku Zunko is free on NEUTRINO, I'm pretty sure.)

I Sorted the Age of Every Vocaloid for a Website that Doesn't Care
I just had to send a very long email to a website that had no idea what it was doing. It was trying to list the youngest Vocaloids, and not only did they use Kasane Teto (who is an UTAU and now SynthV), but they put in Megurine Luka, who's one of the oldest Vocaloids!
So, here's what I wrote:
Hi there, PLEASE do not put Kasane Teto on this list. Not only is she NOT a Vocaloid (she's an UTAU and now a SynthV), but she's super old compared to everyone else!
Here are all the available canon ages of every publicly available Vocaloid (Note: many of them do not have an age):
Hatsune Miku - 16 Kagamine Rin and Len - 14 Megurine Luka - 20 Gumi/Megpoid - "roughly in her teens" Sonika - 17 Kaai Yuki - 9 Hiyama Kiyoteru - 22 Big Al - 25 (This makes him the oldest Vocaloid.) SeeU - 17 Tone Rion - 16 Oliver - 12 CUL - 16 Yuzuki Yukari - 18 Aoki Lapis - 15 Luo Tianyi - 15 Mayu - 15 Maika - 19 Macne Nana - 14-15 Tohoku Zunko - 17 Rana - 0 (Yes, canonically 0. This makes her the youngest Vocaloid.) Xin Hua - 16 Yuezheng Ling - 16 Unity (Otori Kohaku & Akaza) - 17 Xingchen - 16 Otomachi Una - 11 Macne Petit (Macne Nana's younger sister) - 10 Uni - 18 Yuezheng Longya - 23 LUMi - 15 Kizuna Akari - 15 Zhiyu Moke - 14 Mo Qingxian - 17 Haruno Sora - 17 Meika Hime & Mikoto - 11-12
As you can see, the median age is 15-16 years old, and so is the mean age without outliers. So, with that in mind, here is that same list of Vocaloids sorted from youngest to oldest: Rana Kaai Yuki Macne Petit Otomachi Una Meika Hime & Mikoto Oliver Kagamine Rin & Len Zhiyu Moke Macne Nana Aoki Lapis Kizuna Akari LUMi Luo Tianyi Mayu CUL Hatsune Miku Tone Rion Xin Hua Xingchen Yuezheng Ling Haruno Sora Mo Qingxian SeeU Sonika Tohoku Zunko Unity (Otori Kohaku & Akaza) Uni Yuzuki Yukari Maika Megurine Luka Hiyama Kiyoteru Yuezheng Longya Big Al
I hope this helps! Please stop spreading misinformation and feel free to use this for your new article! Here's the link to where I got this information from: https://vocaloid.fandom.com/wiki/VOCALOIDs
Thank you very much and have a good rest of your day!
I did their fucking job for them. Took me an entire hour. I would like my minimum wage now, please.

Note
just curious, but do you have any other vocaloids you would assign to the proseka groups? besides the ones in your twewy au?
Ok so genuinely I actually have like, an ENTIRE separate AU basically almost entirely dedicated to being like "if we weren't restricted to Crypton Vocaloid Vocal Synths, who would go where?"
So yes, to answer your question:
MMJ - GUMI, Nekomura Iroha, Tone Rion, Kokone, Haruno Sora, Sonika, and SeeU
