Mesolithic Harpoon Head, 4500 BCE, Stewartry Museum, Kirkcudbright, Dumfries and Galloway, Scotland

This is a 6500 year old harpoon made from a Red Deer antler and found in the River Dee. It is of a similar type of harpoon to those found in Mesolithic caves or rock shelters near Oban. This piece has been carbon dated to around 4500 BCE.

Wolverine, Storm (and Morph) VS The Marauders and Agent Carl Denti

Wolverine and Storm are chatting in the bar when they are attacked by Sabretooth and the Marauders. As the fight breaks out, Morph appears as Sabretooth in disguise as they fool Harpoon of the Marauders. While the two groups of mutants are fighting in the background, Trish Tilby is making a news report until Morph clowns around by impersonating as Trish, making the real Trish and the cameraman run away from them. The battle is going well for Wolverine, Storm and Morph until Agent Carl Denti shoots at the former (Wolverine) from behind. Carl Denti has a grudge with Wolverine for blowing his cover and giving a scar on his face in the past. Just before Wolverine could maul at Denti, Arclight distracts them before she and the Marauders get away from the scene with a stolen van. Then, Valerie Cooper comes into the aftermath scene and scolds Carl Denti for breaking his protocols so he had to give up his badge before being taken away by Valerie's agents. Carl Denti vows that he would make the mutants pay for ruining his plans as he has Friends of Humanity the anti-mutant hate group as his contacts to bust him out.

SCUBUBLE & TRITODENT (Water/Steel)

They create water bubbles around their heads that allow them to live outside of water. The tip of their tails is made of sharp metal and can be detached to be used as a throwing spear, growing back in a mater of moments.

They are based on the Water Anole (Anolis Aquaticus), a type of anole found in Costa Rica that creates air bubbles to breathe underwater

Their harpoon shaped tails being used for hunting is based on spearfishing

Still doing some of these in between other work! I have been a big fan of @theerikaishii and their chaos goblin ways for some time, so I thought, rather than another sexy male merman, I'd opt for something a little different. Erika obliged by sending me some of the most unhinged references of a mermaid drowning and/or eating someone, and it's perfect. This was a bit more of a complex one, but it was good exercise, and I'm loving using more textured brushes where I can. Really appreciate Erika letting me bring her feral mermaid vision to life! Big thanks to @jessebuddington for being an excellent victim!
