PERSONALITY

She has her walls up and speaks very little. When she was younger she was angry and lashed out at anyone so only a certain few were her friends but she left them behind when she lost Kyle. She's protective of her close friends even going to bat for them. She can be friendly though but if you get on her bad side she’s the worst. If people were to describe her they would say: independent, adaptable, intelligent, tense, impatient, impulsive, kind.

BACKGROUND / BIO

Harper’s family was like one of those families that you see on tv. Perfect. Two parents, son and daughter. It felt like nothing could go wrong. That was until the eve of Spencer’s basketball tournament, when Harper and him got into an argument. It was just enough to make him take his eyes off the road for one second before the other car hit them. Everything changed after that.

The once shy girl full of life changed drastically becoming a shell of her former self. She is no longer into writing. She is no longer wanting to make friends. She is just there. There at the empty house playing video games and getting high. And that’s the way she likes it, most of the time. Her parents are always off recording their television show to care much for the girl. It’s not like Harper cared, only that she did. Immensely. She just chose to ignore her feelings, which made her angry.

Then the unimaginable happened, Spencer’s then girlfriend showed up out of the blue asking if she could stay with her. What could she say? She couldn’t say no, seeing as how she had a one year son with her - almost exactly how long Spencer has been gone for. Turns out Harper has a nephew and it also turns out Shelby ditched town with nothing but a note, saying that she would be back after she took care of some things. So Harper was left wondering what she should do and so far she’s loving the idea of him staying with her, he’s part her brother after all.

Then a year later Shelby came back asking for him back. Harper said no and soon began their custody battle. It was long and hard but she lost custody of him and it broke her. Up and leaving, something she is so used to doing when things go wrong, she found her way to Boston where she coped by drinking and dancing the night away. Pretty soon she found her way over to Maine where her cousin lived. Or used to live, she had moved out and was leasing her place to Harper for the time being.

Used to moving, Harper decided to lay low for a bit before venturing out in the town. It wasn't like her usual places, it had barns and such, but it definitely got her interested. Being very much an introvert and gaming most of her free time, she wonders if this place could be some place that she could finally settle down at. Having no ounce of home since Spencer was alive or when she had Kyle, perhaps something in Merrock could strike up some hope that's buried deep down in her. She's not sure, but she's willing to try at least.
