Chapter 1 :

Harvey and Sabrina had been out on a date since 7 o’clock, it was now 11:45. Harvey’s twin sister, Harley, had been covering for him. Their father had expressed, very loudly at that, that none of the Kinkle kids could go out tonight. They were all grounded for “not following orders properly”. Harvey and Sabrina had plans made for weeks, so Harley couldn’t let her older by 6 minutes brother, down.

“Okay listen to me Harvey, you can go out with Sabrina. Your my brother and she’s my best friend, and I want you guys to have fun. Go out the window, but you must be back by 11. I’ll keep Dad busy, but 11 o’clock is your deadline. Deal?”

Harvey grabbed his little sister and hugged her tight.

“Don’t worry Harls, I’ll be back.”

Mr. Kinkle sat on the couch with his third beer glued to his hand. Tommy was in his room, resting up for work at the mines the next day. Harley sat in the red recliner across the room from her father. Her eyes glanced at the clock every few seconds. If their father caught them, they’d all be in big, big trouble.

“So Dad, I, I was wondering if I could maybe start helping out at the mines with Tommy and Harvey. I know Harvey’s going to start work their next week and I want to help too,” Harley said. She despised the mines, and she knew Harvey did too. He not only hated them, but he was terrified of them. The only reason she wanted to go was to be there for Harvey, to be by his side. Their father was forcing Harvey to go to work. If Harvey goes, she’s going too.

“You wanna work at the mines, girl? Well I like that you wanna help carry on the Kinkle tradition. I suppose you can come work down in the mines with me and your brothers. You need to start working, earning your place here.”

Midnight. The clock stroke 12.

Mr. Kinkle continued on, “I’ve been meaning to talk to you and Harvey about work, Harvey!” He once again yelled for his son, “Harvey!”

But no response came about. Harley grew nervous and her palms became sweaty. Usually Harvey comes running at the sound of his name. Here comes trouble.

Mr. Kinkle stood up and towered over Harley with his beer still in his hand.

“You wanna tell me where your brothers at? Huh?”

“Daddy please, Harvey is,” she paused.

“Harvey is? What?” He yanked the collar of her shirt in his strong fist, his face close to hers. He waited a few seconds for an answer, but he never received one. Anger flushed throughout his body. Mr. Kinkle threw his daughter to the floor along with his beer bottle. A small shard of the glass cut her just below her eye. She breathed heavily, “Daddy, Harvey is,” she was interrupted.

“Right here,” Harvey came running through the living room. Their father turned to him shocked.

“I’ve been yelling for you, boy. Where’ve you been?”

“I’m sorry I just had fell asleep while I was studying for my physics exam,” Harvey quickly answered.

“I needed to talk to you, but it can wait. I want the two of you to clean this mess up, then go to bed,” with that Mr. Kinkle walked away to his bedroom. Harvey darted to Harley who was still laying on the ground.

“Harley, listen, I am so, so sorry about tonight, I,” Harley snapped over him.

“I don’t care what you did. It’s over. But you owe me one, big time.” He took his thumb and gently rubbed the drips of blood on her face. They followed their father’s order, and cleaned up the living room, then proceeded to bed. Harley pulled out her hand held mirror, examine the mark under her brown eye. She put the mirror away, and went to bed. As she laid there her mind was trying to decided on what excuse she’d use tomorrow for the cut on her face. Sabrina would ask, Susie, Ros, everyone. Nobody knew how aggressive their father could get. She never told anyone.

“Looks like I fell down again,” she sighed to herself. With that, she went to sleep. A deep slumber with the most unusual dream.

hello, everyone!

if you've read my embarrassingly awkward introduction post, you will have come to gather that i am a struggling fangirl with a desperate need for fanfiction. and, well, seeing as i've read most of it, i've decided to make the brave idiotic jump from fanfic reader to fanfic writer. god help us all.

Las escalofriantes aventuras de Sabrina

Bienvenidos a un nuevo artículo. Como todos ya saben se acerca el 31 de octubre, la noche de Halloween, víspera del Día de Muertos, de Todos los Santos y fecha también conocida como la noche de las brujas. 

Y no sin razón, pues esta es una noche muy especial para ellas. La leyenda cuenta que las brujas se reúnen en  aquelarres dos veces al año convocadas por el Diablo, el 30 de abril y el 31 de octubre. Fecha en la que se da la bienvenida a un nuevo año de brujería. 

En esta noche, los poderes satánicos y la brujería están en su nivel más alto. 

Así que, ahora ya lo saben; en este artículo se hablará de brujas, en concreto de Sabrina Spellan, una de las hechiceras más conocidas de la pantalla. 

Seguro que muchos de ustedes recuerdan a la encantadora de Sabrina de Sabrina, Cosas de Brujas (Sabrina, the Teenage Witch o Sabrina, la bruja adolescente) interpretada por Melissa Joan Hart. Esta serie de finales de los 90 era una divertida sitcom (serie cómica televisiva) que narraba las historias de una joven bruja, junto a sus tías Hilda y Zelda, su novio Harley Kinkle y su gato Salem. 

Pues Sabrina ha vuelto y de la mano de Netflix. Las Escalofriantes Aventuras de Aventuras de Sabrina o El Mundo Oculto de Sabrina como se conoce en Hispanoamérica (Chilling Aventures of Sabrina) Se estrenó el 26 de octubre de 2018 en Netflix, serie que es un tanto más oscura que la comedia. 

Aunque se repiten muchos de los personajes, nos espera un mundo lleno de magia negra, sombras y peligros ocultos con toques de terror, ingredientes perfectos para hacer una maratón de Halloween. 

La serie relata la oscura historia de la adolescente Sabrina, quien al cumplir 16 años se encuentra en un momento delicado su vida, tiene que elegir entre el mundo de la magia y el de los humanos, ya que ella es mitad bruja, mitad mortal. 

En esta adaptación, Sabrina luchará por conciliar sus dos universos mientras se enfrenta a las fuerzas malvadas que la amenazan a ella, a su familia y amigos y a toda la humanidad. 

Sabrina Spellman y su gato Salem

Las Escalofriantes Aventuras de Sabrina, se desarrolla en el mismo universo en la que está inspirada la serie Riverdale. Los orígenes de la bruja adolescente también se encuentran en el cómic Archie de John L. Goldwater, una serie de historietas que empezaron a publicarse a principios de 1940 en Estados Unidos. 

Estas narran las aventuras de un grupo de adolescentes llamados Archie, Betty, Verónica y Judhead que viven en la ciudad de Riverdale. 

Sabrina Spellman es un personaje secundario de este cómic, que vive en un pueblo vecino llamado Greendale. Una joven de su época, valiente, persistente y honesta, dispuesta a luchar por sus amigos. 

Sabrina debutó en Archie’s Madhouse #22 en octubre de 1962 y gustó tanto que finalmente se convirtió en uno de los personajes principales de Archie Comics. 

Una nueva versión, más oscura de los cómics empezó a publicarse en 2013 de la mano de la mano de Roberto Aguirre-Sacasa (Afterlife with Archie) con mucho éxito. En 2014 salió al mercado Chilling Adventures of Sabrina, centrándose en Sabrina Spellman durante su adolescencia en los años de 1960. 

De hecho es Aguirre-Sacasa, el creador de Riverdale y guionista de la renovada versión de los cómics, el que está detrás de esta nueva (notan nueva ya) serie de Sabrina que busca traerla de nuevo a la pantalla de una manera más fiel a sus orígenes. 

En un principio incluso se barajó que el personaje de Sabrina apareciera al final de la primera temporada de Riverdale, pero decidieron mantenerla más centrada en el mundo real y darle a Sabrina su propia serie. 

Kierna Shipka, conocida por su papel de Sally Draper, la hija de Don Draper en Mad Men, interpreta a Sabrina y el papel del encantador y soñador Harvey recae en Ross Lynch, antiguo protagonista de la serie de Disney Channel Austin y Ally. 

Como curiosidad les contamos que Kiernan es alérgica a los gatos, así que le resultó algo complicado trabajar con Salem. 

La serie cuenta con 4 temporadas. La primera temporada cuenta con 10 episodios y uno especial de navidad, la segunda con 9, la tercera con 8 y la cuarta que está en transmisión también cuenta con 8 episodios, sumando un total de 36 episodios. 

Sabemos que las Escalofriantes Aventuras de Sabrina es la serie perfecta para estas fechas. 

La verdad es que Sabrina es una de nuestras brujas favoritas y tenemos muchas ganas de verla en un universo mucho más creepy y siniestro.
