an envelope is slid under the door, a single golden bee stamped on the front and no return address but you have long since grown accustomed to this. today, it’s an invitation. underneath, in dark ink there are instructions to follow.

“The Harcourt Literary Society cordially invites you to this year’s Halloween ball; A BALL OF FAIRY TALES AND FABLES. Please find the details below.”

As is customary for every Halloween, the society is pleased to welcome you to this year’s Halloween ball, a literary costume party for your pleasure and entertainment. This year the ball will be taking place at THE OBSERVATORY. Please find your way there at 8:00pm on Saturday, October 31st wearing your costume inspired by a literary character of your choice.

HAPPY OPENING DAY! AND HAPPY HALLOWEEN! we figured we had to have a halloween themed event, but of course, with our very own harcourt twist! a ball of fairy tales and fables ia a costume party and not just any party, but a literary themed one! 

our event will last from today, saturday, october 31st at 5PM EST, to next friday, november 6th at 10:00PM EST.

this will be a DASH ONLY EVENT which means that all interactions should occur on the dash, and please avoid continuing event threads once the event it’s over, unless it’s something that you can quickly wrap up.

your characters may discuss their costumes on the ic discord group chats but be aware that any interaction there will have to be prior to the event beginning. 

there will be a task to get the characters interacting with each other and have some ic and ooc fun mid-event. we’ll be posting the details of this on monday! 

please feel free to get creative with edits, social media posts, self-paras, etc. related to the event during this time. and don’t forget to tag your posts or starters with harcourt:litball.

with all of that said, we are now OPEN!!!!

after everything that has happened, the students find themselves on edge and unsure of what the new year will bring. as a way to help everyone forget such worries for just one night, the harcourt literary society has thrown a party at st.cloud’s rooftop bar overlooking times square in new york city on december 31st. their invitations find them wherever they may be, the familiar black font on white paper with the golden bee stamped in front greeting them at random times. rooms have been rented out for each of them at the knickerbocker hotel so that they may enjoy the party without any worries.

this will be a week long discord event starting wednesday, december 30th at 5pm EST to tuesday, january 4th at 5pm EST.

that means that throughout the week you may feel free to drop by the discord chat at any time and reply to keep the group thread going. a minimum of two replies will count as your activity for the week as we know it’s a busy time and everyone might find it easier to do a discord reply or two rather than get on the dash at this time. 

that being said, if you’d like to do threads on the dash between your characters you are more than welcome to but it is not mandatory !

you are also free to post any sort of edit, self-para, or anything else you would like for your character at this time, we would love to see it ! our tag for this event will be harcourt:nye !

it’s the end of the semester and everyone at the harcourt institute is ready to celebrate and let loose for a night. but as usual with harcourt student parties, there’s always a theme and a dress code. this time? it’s all about pirates. yo ho !

as per usual the white envelope with the golden bee finds its way to each student as if by magic, asking them to make their way to the boat at the end of the dock on friday evening in their best pirate costumes.
