Today is the day Isogai is leaving. It’s just a sleepover!! But… I can’t help but feel like I’m swallowing limes at the thought of him leaving. He has his family to take care of though, so…

I opened my eyes to see Maehara staring at me, he looked distraught, but there was a different detail I was focusing on that made blood rush to my cheeks.

He was holding my hand!? Well- Rubbing circles on it with his thumb, but holding onto it with both of his slim fingers for sure! At some point while I was getting flustered he had noticed and pulled away, my hand longed for his. I think that’s normal for childhood best friends though. Right? Aside from that, I had to get to my house today to help with the kids.

He sat up suddenly and rubbed his eyes, oh shoot- So he had definitely noticed that moment. His hair covered his face so you couldn’t quite tell how he had felt about it.

Isogai brushed his hair out of his face, Maehara thought it made him… Pretty? No, only girls could be pretty, right? He had dated many girls before, but they had never made him feel special. Not like Isogai had.

“Morning.”

“E-eh, Isogai!?”

“What’s up with you?”

He’s obviously playing it off.

Silence filled the room.

I smile at him.

“No no no, it’s fine bro!! I joke all the time so I should be able to take one.”

He wrapped his arms around my hips as I did the same to him, he then lifted up one of his hand and cupped it to my (now red) cheek. He leaned in and put his soft lips on mine. They tasted like mangoes, probably his chapstick. After a moment of pure love and joy he pulled away, he had to breathe of course. Then I asked, “Was that okay? I didn’t do much.”

“It was the best kiss I’ve ever had, man.”
