That. Was. Fucking. Insane. That was the best movie I’ve watched. Literally captivated from start to finish. WHAT AN EXPLOSIVE INTRODUCTION?! with gwen stacey and her drums? Such powerful animated movements, in fact ALL THE ACTION SCENES carried SUCH GOOD WEIGHT, made SUCH GOOD USE OF THEIR ENVIRONMENT, and were just generally so well choreographed! The first villain was just so visually stunning and animated, I LOVED his style. And the humour from the very start was just, on point. This entire movie WAS SOOOO FUNNY. IT WAS HILARIOUS! Hahaha the lego spiderman scene? How miguel was like, “you’re one of the best of us” XDDD. And omg the MAIN ANTOGNIST IS THE BAGEL GUY. I CANNOT. THATS SO HECKING FUNNY. HAHAHHWYWHAJABWHAJJAHAHAHAH.

Such a visually stunning movie man. Like the first one was amazing, but this somehow topped that. The ENVIRONMENTS AND WORLDS THAT WE EXPLORED WERE SOOOO BEAUTIFULLY CONSTRUCTED? Indian spiderman- just everything about him was hilarious- had such an amazing universe, just the layered upon layers of buildings and roads EVERYWHERE. omg HOBY??? I LOVE HOBY MAN. How earlier he was like, miles u gotta use ur palms too not just ur fingers, and then he was also very established to be an against capitalism and institution type man, AND OMG MY GUY AAAAAA HELPING MILES OUT!!!! WHEN NO ONE ELSE WAS DOING ANYTHING FOR HIM??? HOBY’S A REAL ONE GUYS I LOVE HIM.

MAYDAY WAS ADORABLE! Peter being such a doting father was so adorable and EVERYTHING. Like that sequence of him showing all the baby pictures to miles and gwen, and then when he told miles that he should HOLD THE BABY IT’LL MAKE YOU FEEL BETTTER!!!! And ofc it did XD THAT TRAIN FIGHT SCENE??? SO MANY MOVIES HAVE TRIED IT BEFORE, BUT THIS WAS THE ABSOLUTE SICKEST TRAIN FIGHT SCENE IVE EVER SEEN. Just the train BULLETING UPWARDS, and then the call back to the leap of faith?

AHHHH but also! So many wonderful computer screen background worthy shots within this film. I absolutely adored the way they kept having the spider people sit and hang upside down. It made so many visually stunning scenes! Like when they were going up the elevator,,, AND THEY WERE ALL UPSIDE DOWN!!! AARHEGEH SOOO COOOL!!!!

Oh man but that brief appearance of peni parker! SHE LOOKED SO TIRED :(!!! URGEGWHW WE GOT TO SEE SPIDERHAM AND SPIDERNOIR AT THE END BUT MAN I RLLY WISH I CUDA SEEN MORE OF THOSE GUYS WYHWHAHWUIAKjahauai!!1!1!?1!1!1 I was so happy when they finally appeared with gwens group of spider allies tho ; - ;!!!!!

Okay back to bagel guy, what a fun and hilarious opening and introduction? Hahaha trying to steal the atm machine and their whole banter, it was just so funny. Amazing introduction. I loved miles’ roommate too! I wish we got to see more of him haha.

Oh oh oh, I loved all of the impact frames in this movie, and also the speech bubbles and sound effects and other fun comic style things, but the glossary squares that kept appearing on screen??? AMAZING!!!! I would love to go through this movie again and just pause and read over everything! THE COLOURS WERE SOOOO GOOD IN THIS MOVIE??? THIS MOVIE REALLY STOOD OUT FOR ME IN IT’S PALETTES! SOME SCENES WERE JUST COMPOSED SO BEAUTIFULLY I JUST AYWHAHAHWUJAHAHAHAH!!!!

The plot twist at the end was so good. It was so well built up too, there were so many hints and what not but it only hit me when aaron showed up… the mom’s eyes being different, her not knowing who spiderman is,,, earlier when the screen got the WRONG DNA,,, and also just the different colour palette? So many good clues. I’m over here laughing at how anticlimactic the mom is taking the news, and then AARON SHOWS UP. And the revelation HIT ME LIKE A TRUCK MAN. IT WASN’T A JOKE.

can we talk about the amazing sound track and sound design for this movie??? I watched this in VMAX which is a cinema which had a larger screen and louder speakers, and wow, I WAS SOOO IMMERSED MAN. Not only does the music SLAP and match each new place so well, but it just adds so much to the viewing experience!!!!

This movie was an absolute masterpiece. Wow. Jesus. The first movie was like my favourite movie. But this somehow TOPPED THAT???? Insane.

Been percolating this thought since I watched ATSV yesterday but: Miguel must look at Peter B some type of way.

Not the spicy way (tho maybe idk) but like… Peter B has it all. He’s the Spiderman that has become fulfilled on a professional and social level.

He got the partner who loves and accepts him. He’s started a beautiful family. He showed himself to be a wonderful mentor to Miles. He is also an extremely capable and competent Spider-man. One not swayed or intimidated by Miguel in the slightest.

He is everything that Miguel craved in his past and was burned for. But it’s not like he can hate Peter for it.

We know Peter B from ITSV. He was at a very low point. He’d been estranged from MJ. Work had become his life. He was terrified of starting a family for fear of losing it and not being worthy of it. He WAS Miguel.

Except he wasn’t. He didn’t lose sight of what was valuable and important. He didn’t see Miles as a liability to his mission, but a young man who was coming into his own identity with incredible potential to rise above where he currently was.

In fact a lot of his current happiness was DUE TO Miles’ presence in his life. Like he says as much in the movie when he’s forcing Mayday into Miles’ face because Mayday is the happiness Peter B received after he met Miles. He realised he could have a positive effect on a child’s life because he mentored Miles. And by that token wants a kid to grow up like the cool kid he met.

Miles existence as Spider-Man allowed Peter B to move beyond where he was. Something Miguel as yet is unable to recognise himself. Which shows that Miles is NOT an anomaly who should not have become Spider-Man. He was the Miles destined to become Spider-Man. He was the Miles destined to change lives. And that the canon is something that is fluid and changing and may present itself in different ways.

I’m so fascinated by the idea about how non-Peter Parker Spider people view Peter Parker Spider people. They gotta have the most abundance across the Spiderverse. I just wonder if Miguel feels a regret and inferiority complex on that level. Maybe not and it’s just general envy based on his prior experiences. But again he doesn’t hate Peter B for it.

He’s annoyed by Peter B’s exuberance and general irreverence for his intended mission. Because he’s the Spidey who seems to have gotten his happy ending. And Miguel clearly values the other Spider people. He’s not gonna knock down one of the Spidey’s who gets to be happy. Bc there are too many that don’t.

Tl;dr Miguel definitely thinks Peter B is the Spidey he could never be. Because he’s stuck in the position of the Peter B that existed before he met Miles.

Alex had given his suggestion, almost immediately Lyla had shot it down. ‘Far too on the nose. It’s probably best we find something else…’ Alex shrugged, waving off the idea. ‘Just forget it, we’ll find another thing to do for a date-‘ ‘So, you sure you don’t want tickets for something else? I’m scrolling the listings right now. Ooh, Barbie-‘ ‘No!’ Alex turned on her hologram in an instant, eyes wide with horror. Lyla’s form shimmered, but her image was completely stopped in the look of joy as if she had frozen. ‘Not that. I did piracy checks for that film and was nearly nauseous two minutes in for the pastel hues and…. Ugh…’ ‘Shame. Did you have something else in mind, Al?’ Lyla’s image finally unfroze, conjuring more screens and letting data scroll past. ‘Yeah, Lyla, don’t let Miguel waste his money on tickets that I can get for free, if we’re going where I think we’re going.’ ‘Well, what would you say Miguel would sit and watch?’ Alex hummed in thought at her question, mind running by his work. He would have to swallow his pride and finally introduce his workmates to his boyfriend. He hung his head in a sigh and decided there was nothing else for it. ‘We’re just going to have to bite the bullet, Lyla. Check the showtimes for Across the Spiderverse, and compare it to Miguel’s timetable.’ ‘… aaand done! We’ve got one time that matches up. I’ll pass the details to Miggy. So, better get dressed for the evening. We’ve got time, unless you want to get snacks. Or did you want to go for food beforehand? Or unless you want to watch the trailers and not get caught in the queues- actually, get your coat, you’re going to be late.’ Alex rolled his eyes, and decided to pick out his attire for the evening.

Alex assured himself that he wasn’t jealous of Miguel. He couldn’t be jealous of the man he loved, not at all. At this time of the evening, on a typical weekday, the venue was almost empty. Tickets in hand, Alex returned to the side of the man he loved. ‘You sure you don’t want anything, Mig? I mean, we could’ve gotten some stuff for far cheaper than it is here…’ ‘Ah, I’m not hungry, Alex. I assure you, I’m fine.’ The far taller man was dressed casually, head covered by a brimmed cap, pulled low, messy hair concealed and eyes glinting red in the shadows. He wanted to laugh at the idea that the man was not hungry; this was the same man who would happily wolf his way through a box of doughnuts and not put on a single pound. If anything, the man only seemed to put on muscle. Alex wasn’t jealous at all. ‘You look nervous, what’s wrong? Tell me, mi vida.’ At Miguel’s question, Alex folded the tickets up in his hands, an exercise in simply keeping himself distracted. ‘… My colleagues are going to talk…’ ‘So? Let them.’ Miguel’s smile was just for him, just the glimpse of fangs peeping out. ‘We’re here to enjoy ourselves.’ Alex was sure he felt a bead of sweat run down his forehead. Enjoy themselves? He was about watch a film that contained an animated version of the man he now stood beside. Who knew how he would take not just his portrayal, but the overall plot? ‘I… It’s this way, Mig.’

Alex almost jumped as Miguel’s arm came across his shoulder, they walked to their designated screen. ‘You still look nervous… Is there something you want to tell me?’ Miguel hummed in thought, eyes firmly upon him. ‘I-I don’t suppose that Lyla mentioned the… exact nature of the film?’ ‘Mm, she told me it was part two of a supposed trilogy involving Spider-Man. Strange, that in this world, he's just a fictional character… Was just a fictional character. I’ve seen all sorts of weird and wonderful worlds, Alex. I’ve seen many other versions of me… some of them are happy- some of them have you.’ Alex’s gaze snapped straight to Miguel, they froze in the corridor, in the space between screen doors. In the shadows of the dim light, he could see those scarlet eyes blazing back at him. He had never stopped to think, never considered about the other version of him, branching through multiple realities. Some of them had their own Miguel. ‘… Go on.’ ‘Well, I only stepped into this world because I’d seen you and me, in another reality, in this very cinema. I saved you from a mutant birdman. You were very happy at how punctual I was. We were so happy together, in general. I wanted to try and see if we… If we could… Dios mío, never mind.’ Alex’s eyes widened, then narrowed sharply as his mind processed his thoughts. ‘I… I work here? Still? I’m sorry, Miguel, do I seriously work at this bloody cinema in every reality I exist in?! Hell, I bet I still work with the same people! Those other Alexs have to put up with their own Scotts, Lucias, Callistas, and Henrys, too!’ Miguel’s chuckle at his ranting was warm and delighted, the hand on his shoulder patted him gently. ‘Come now, we don’t want to miss anything… I’m intrigued to see exactly what’s in store.’

There were a few other scattered people at this time in the evening for a film that was playing several months after release, a few by themselves with too much expensive food, a family of four, and Alex and Miguel themselves, sequestered up at the very back, tucked away against the back wall. ‘So far back?’ Alex scoffed at the sight of Miguel’s bulky physique just barely squeezing into the seat, his long legs almost crammed into the back of the row in front. ‘Well, my boyfriend is nearly seven feet tall and incredibly broad. Chance’s folly that you’d end up blocking someone’s view if we sat elsewhere.’ Alex sat down into the seat beside him, flashing the larger man a smile and watched in be returned. ‘… Mig, please tell me you’re not going to get called halfway through.’ As if to reassure him, Miguel rolled his left sleeve, checking the swirling data that projected across the device. ‘We should be good. “Do Not Disturb” and hope for the best.’ Miguel reassured him, pulling his sleeve back down to conceal it once again.

Alex had not watched the film, so much as been quietly sneaking glances at Miguel’s reaction. He had seen the man chuckle softly, an amused smile playing across his features. Then the moment had arrived; of Gwen Stacy getting unlikely backup against a Da Vinci Vulture. ‘…¿Que?’ Miguel’s voice was a gentle breath, barely audible even to Alex. He softly took one of those warm, large hands in his own, feeling calloused fingers softly squeeze his own on reaction. It was not so much to enjoy companionship was it was an attempt to read the other man’s pulse, eyes already watching his face. Alex had spent the entire movie in silence, bearing witness to his boyfriend’s little chuckles, derisive snorts, and brief moments where his head tilted the side in sheer curiosity, confusion, or wonder. Hours later, as the credits rolled and the houselights came back up, they remained until the last of the other attendees had left. ‘Well…’ Alex swallowed, watching Miguel tap his fingers on the arm rest beside him, expression unreadable. ‘I… Am….’ Miguel swallowed, licking his lips. ‘I am not really sure how I feel, right now, Alex. Highs and lows. Mostly around… Me. Why serums? Why neon webbing? Why did they hit the mark closer to that…. That other version- who threatened you- than me? Seriously, they assume I would become so obsessed with a family I never had that- actually, don’t answer that.’ Miguel’s expression narrowed. ‘I also very much object to my portrayal as a traumatized control freak. If they had actually bothered to include my brother in there, too, they’d realise that Gabri would never have let me go that far- he can practically smell despair a mile off.’ Alex cleared his throat softly, twice, trying not to crack into laughter for just how hurt the larger man sounded. ‘Well, I’m glad I didn’t fall in love with that version of you. Although half the internet seems to have done so… Time will tell if they can make that version of you more like, well, you.’ Miguel snorted again, leaning in closer with a smug smirk, pinning Alex’s hand to the armrest with his own. ‘… He’ll never be as good as me, querido…’

Alex watched Miguel stretch with a groan, stiff from being crammed in for so long. ‘I will give credit where it’s due. It’s uncanny just how well Oscar Isaac nailed your voice. Like, he was dead on, it’s like he was a mimic. Bit of a creepy coincidence, no?’ At Alex’s question, Miguel fixed him with a playful smile. ‘Coincidences are what the multiverse does for fun, Alex. Constants and variables…’ Both looked up as the doors opened, and Alex subtly hid himself behind his boyfriend’s larger form as the twin sisters of Lucia and Calista entered, ready to clean up. ‘We know you’re here, Alex.’ ‘Yes. Henry told us you were here with a new man.’ ‘This would be said man, so hiding behind him is rather pointless.’ Alex rested his head against Miguel’s broad back with a soft sigh before stepping back out with a warm smile, eyes darting frantically between the two sisters. ‘Hey... L-Lucia… Callista…’ Neither of them responded to identify themselves, both merely stared back at them, then glanced to each other. ‘We were wondering when we’d meet the alleged boyfriend. My, he’s tall.’ ‘Yes, and broad…’ ‘Yes, and- what film was this again?’ ‘Spooder-man.’ Alex was fairly sure he had identified Lucia with that comment, she was more prone to making silly remarks than her sister. Unless he had that completely mixed up, too.   ‘Ah… Alex, he’s the spitting image of that…. That guy, what’s his name?’ The sisters turned to face each other again. ‘Which guy?’ ‘The guy. Big, sad, and choke slammed the boy into the moon train.’ ‘… Uh, I think I was asleep by that part.’ ‘The one with the fantastic ass.’ ‘Oh! Uh… Mickey?’ ‘Yeah, that guy!’ Out of the corner of his eye, Alex saw Miguel’s eyebrows raise sharply, mouth turning in an irritated frown, and softly took his hand to guide him from the room. ‘We’ll… Be getting on now. Have a nice evening, you two.’ ‘Bye, Alex.’ They waved and spoke in unison, flattening themselves to either side of the wall to let them past. Just before the door shut behind them, Alex heard them resume their discussion. ‘… You see the ass on him, too?’ ‘Couldn’t miss it for the world. Typical. All the good men are either taken or have eyes on their own team…’

Miguel lurked in the lobby as Alex visited the toilets. He didn’t mind the evening, the night outside was dark, and the lobby was dim enough that the lights didn’t irritate his eyes. His mind still turned over his thoughts on the movie- and sincerely hoped that no-one else had heard of or seen it. It would just be the last thing he needed, he would never hear the end of it from some of them… He pulled off the cap, running a hand through his wild hair as a soft groan left his lips. It was probably better not to think of what could be- the multiverse could manage that quite well enough. He heard the soft, excited gasp before the cap was back on his head, and his gaze was drawn to the family from earlier, half were absent and only the mother and her young son remained. The young son who was currently staring wide-eyed at Miguel, tugging on his mother’s sleeve. ‘M-Mum…! Mum! Mum, look!’ ‘Hmm?’ Her gaze was drawn from the screen of her phone, glancing down at her child as he pointed to Miguel. ‘Look! I-it’s Spider-Man!’ Miguel forced himself to keep a straight face as his heart skipped. ‘… The scary one!’ Miguel calmed himself with a subtle exhale, a child couldn’t see the suit he was wearing under his clothing. He was being recognized for another reason altogether. “The scary one”. Great. The mother gave him a small smile. ‘I’m so sorry…’ Her gaze drifted down to her own child. ‘No, poppet, he just looks like the one from the movie. Real Spider-Man is out there, somewhere, keeping us all safe…’ The child’s eyes remained upon him, wide and hopeful. As the mother’s gaze returned to her phone, Miguel rested a finger against his lips and winked playfully, the child nodded in quiet understanding, eyes sparkling with wonder.

‘So, the lovebirds had a great night out?’ Lyla’s image flitted between them as they stepped out into the cold night. ‘I am apparently considered “scary”, need regular injections, and firmly glued on the ridiculous notions of “Canon”… In an infinite multiverse! “Canon”!’ Miguel threw up his arms in disbelief, causing Alex to snicker beside him. ‘As you can see, Lyla, he’s a bit grumpy…’ ‘Aww. It’s fine, Miggy. We know that you’re not scary. Well, not very.’ She flitted away as the larger man made a grab for her, his teeth gritted. She glitched back into existence beside Alex, floating alongside as they walked. ‘Lyla, are you sure he’s not actually part cat instead? I mean, he’s got the claws, the urge to bat at stuff that irritates him, the only thing I haven’t heard him do is purr.’ Beside him, Miguel lowered his head and begun to mumble under his breath in rapid Spanish. He only looked back as Alex rested a hand on that broad back and rubbed gentle circles. ‘Are you still not hungry, Mig?’ ‘Hm. Maybe a little bit now… Did you want to get something to eat then, Alex?’ Alex’s blue eyes glinted with mirth. ‘Sure! For some reason, I think I could really go for a burger- not one of those hideous blue and red ones from the movie- I mean a proper one.’ Miguel gave another derisive snort, mumbling about “ego” under his breath. Alex ignored him. ‘Lyla, please tell me you have proper burgers in your world.’ ‘Well… I think there might be different definitions of proper. In Miggy’s world, people are a lot more health-conscious. So, all the meat is synthetically grown and genetically modified to be healthier. The poor cows can live their best lives untroubled. Steaks and burgers on demand, freshly peeled from their grow-lattices! Yum!’ Alex stopped, blinking at her as his mind processed just what he had been told. ‘… Gods give me strength. No.’ He hooked his arm around one of Miguel’s pulling his stronger, larger form closer with surprisingly little resistance. Miguel raised an eyebrow as Alex smiled up at him. ‘That won’t do at all. Lyla, please find us a proper burger place that’s open. Place an order two big burgers.’

The Place That Does the Burgers. It did exactly what it said on the sign outside, and they tucked themselves into a little cubicle, their order ready almost as soon as they stepped through the door. Alex decided that perhaps asking for the biggest she could find had been something of a mistake when he took in the twin towers of beef, bacon, cheese and lettuce pinned in buns before them. He was fairly sure his eyes were bigger than his belly. Miguel took in the sight before him and was suddenly looking positively ravenous. It was only when Miguel took his first bite did Alex witness those red eyes close and the soft purr of delight rumble from within his chest. ‘I think we’ve got a winner, chief.’ Lyla’s voice was a whisper by Alex’s ear as they took in the sight. ‘Hey, if you don’t finish yours, I think he will… So, better get eating while it’s still on your plate.’ ‘Good, Miggy?’ Alex made a vain attempt to squish down his own enormous burger to a more manageable size, he didn’t have the same massive handspan as the man he sat across from. Miguel swallowed, tongue licking across his lips and he nodded. ‘Mm… Muy bien.’ Alex saw those glint of fangs, and made a mental note to question him later if he could, assumedly, bite without envenoming things. For now, there was food, and there was good company.

(The comment about a mutant birdman in the same cinema implies that Miguel was spying on the events of Parallel Orbits.)

both versions r meant to be like murder mysteries yk?? and they're both set in time settings where it's not quite the future, but im also not a historian so they're also not completely historically accurate T-T they just take place in the past LMFAO but the original ver is more like dark academia centered where the murder takes place at this elitist academy/boarding school in the middle of nowhere, and reader is like a "charity case" whose uncle took her under his wing after her parents were murdered or something, and changmin is like studying to become a physician and they both get looped into the investigation. i have a some written of that ver but it's not very interesting 💀

AND recently like two days ago 💀 i went back to one of the ideas i had for the banner before i started writing the dark academia one (wow that's such a long sentence). anyways, said idea was to take place in like ,, not a school 🤡 but idk if you've read the stalking jack the ripper series but it's based on that !! AND a little bit of six of crows too 🤡 it's not fantastical or anything, but changmin is like a doctor in the lower end and someone's been out here murdering people and shit. changmin is also kind of inspired by daredevil and kaz brekker, but i'll have to get into that some other time 💀

that was one of my favorite parts lol i think this ver of bones has captured a bit more of my interest than the other ver? tho, i would love to see where the other ver went, just cuz i already put so much thought into the storyline and characters and headcanons and back stories, etc.

AHHHHHH YES I AGREE ABT SPIDEY!ERIC I LOVE SPIDEY ERIC he's just ,, yk Just Some Guy™ LMAO so he's a perf spiderboy !!! he's kind of modeled after tom holland's spiderman and sunwoo after miles morales ofc, but eric would TOTALLY try the upside down kiss and fail miserably 😭😭😭 but i think he's def the type to keep trying UNTIL he gets it down 🤤😋 and just crafting the different earths btwn sunwoo and eric was just so much fun cuz i was trying to figure out what i wanted each universe to have and ksnfkdndkkd ANYWAYS . STAR LORD SUNWOO HAS ME REELING CUZ LIKE AKDNKDMD i NEEDED this man to be w the raccoon it just didn't feel right if he wasn't. like he was either gonna be nova or starlord, and i feel like the only other boy besides sunwoo who can do star lord justice is hyunjae, but he's already IRON MAN lol
