First off, Roier is dead. Suuuuper dead. He’s dead, and he’s been stuck in the Quesadilla Hotel for the past forty goddamn years, and he can’t see himself moving on any time soon. He’s got unfinished business, and he refuses to move into the Beyond until he sees that man dead.
But it’s not all bad, being dead. The hotel is full of ghosts just like him, and he even gets along with most of them. Like Jaiden, who was blown up in a demolitions accident back in the 90s. And Foolish, who drowned in the hotel’s decorative fountain while high off his ass in the 70s. And Rivers, who choked on a chicken bone in the hotel’s restaurant just in 2018.
But, really, it’s kinda lonely sometimes. Eventually, his friends will all move on, and he’ll be all alone again.
And then, one day, there’s a police chase down the road complete with gunshots, and Roier peeks out the window just in time to watch a van full of people crash into the hotel’s side. It explodes on impact, killing everyone inside, and, suddenly, the hotel’s got five more ghosts in it and Roier’s got a new friend in a guy who definitely wasn’t on the run for murder when he was killed.

Take the Pieces and Build Them Skywards by quarterturn
Gerard's not happy with his life, but that doesn't mean he's particularly thrilled when he wakes up dead. To add insult to injury, he finds out that instead of crossing over, he's been chosen to join the ranks of the grim reapers. Things get more complicated when he falls for one of the living, a waiter named Frank Iero. And just when everything finally seems to be falling into place, Frank's name shows up on the list of souls to be reaped. Loosely based on the TV show Dead Like Me.
With Dripping Wings, Heavy Things Won't Fly by silver_etoile
Gerard is in more than a mess when he is kicked out of Heaven, and the demon tracking him is certainly not helping him. Frank has a plan, though, and he needs the fallen angel for it to work. This is what happens when Heaven and Hell collide.
Shadowplay by theoretically_yours [WIP] Malimore is a small town in Southern California where ghosts are as common as any other household pest and vampires come out to steal the souls of humans at midnight. Frank Iero is a young paranormal investigator whose interest in the supernatural began after the bizarre and untimely death of his parents. One day, when he and his partner take on a particularly gruesome case, all hell breaks loose with Frank caught at the very center. This is the story of how it all happened.

There are three principles behind what They do. One: certain events must happen. Two: they must happen in the correct order. Three: they must happen at the correct points in their respective timelines. When one of these criteria is not met, the timeline requires repair.
Frank was just supposed to get Gerard on the damn ferry that September 11th, and go home.
But sometimes the universe has its own ideas.

Fate don't make mistakes by cedarbranch
After meeting the wrong end of a blade, Gerard wakes up in a mysterious realm called the Under. He's surrounded by demons who all seem to think he's something special, but none of them will answer his questions. They reveal nothing except the fact that he died too soon. The only person willing to help is Frank, his self-appointed guide, who swears he can bring Gerard home. He escorts Gerard across the Under, and together they confront enemies, unexpected feelings, and secrets of the darkest kind.
In the end, all it takes is one misplaced soul to bring worlds crashing down.

Gerard lives in a lighthouse by Dead Man's Point. He spends his time talking to the seagulls, and painting his prophetic visions.
He's seen his fair share of strange things, but when Frank Iero jumps off the cliff's edge, Gerard will do anything just to bring him back.

Gerard Way doesn't get out much. He's fine with that, honestly. Mikey says there's more to life than school and watching TV in the basement, but Gerard's comfortable; he'll have fun in college. Until then, he's just going to keep his head down and wait to get the hell out of Belleville.
Well, that's the plan, at least. Then he meets Frank Iero.

Improve your English and spook yourself this Halloween
Are you in the mood to watch something spooky this Halloween? Grab some pillows and pop the popcorn! Halloween is the perfect time to sit on the sofa with friends (or alone if you’re brave) to watch a horror movie or two. Why not use this opportunity to practice your English listening skills as well?
There are tons of good and bad horror movies out there on Netflix, Hulu, or your other favorite streaming service. With so many options to choose from, you might not know where to start. So here’s a list of important horror movies from the past five decades to get you started. Keep in mind that these movies are adult-oriented. That means you should make sure the kids are asleep before you start watching. Happy viewing!
Horror Movies to Watch
1970s
The Exorcist (1973)
This supernatural horror film by William Friedkin— which is based on William Peter Blatty’s novel that is in turn loosely based on true events—has often been called the greatest horror movie ever made. It deserves the praise.
The film centers on a priest who is called to examine a young girl’s disturbing behavior. Her mother can’t find any medical or scientific explanation, and the priest concludes that the young girl, named Reagan, is showing signs of demonic possession. The priest requests the Catholic Church to send an expert priest to perform an exorcism (a religious ritual to remove an evil spirit from a person’s body). The devilish ordeal unfolds over the rest of the film.
The film famously uses complex visual and audio special effects as well as a chilling soundtrack to achieve moments of terror and disbelief. It has many memorable scenes, and the acting is excellent. If you only watch one film from this list, I recommend this one.
Halloween (1978)
John Carpenter directed and scored (wrote the music for) this genre-defining slasher film, which has led to many sequels and remakes. This includes the highly-praised 2018 direct sequel with the original lead actress, Jamie Lee Curtis, reprising (performing again) her role.
The film tells a story of an escaped mental institution patient named Michael Meyers who stalks and kills teenage babysitters in a small town one Halloween night. One by one, the babysitters fall until the last girl remains and fights back with everything she has.
Although it wasn’t the first in the slasher horror genre, Halloween is a hugely influential movie, paving the way and creating a blueprint for other slasher horror films like Nightmare on Elm Street and Friday the 13th. Carrie (1976)
Carrie would the first of many film adaptations of novelist Stephen King’s bestselling work. In fact, Carrie was King’s first published novel.
Brian De Palma directed this story of supernatural suspense and horror about a seventeen-year-old girl who is bullied in high school. One day, she discovers that she has telekinetic powers (the ability to move objects with her mind). She uses this power to take revenge on the cruel classmates who humiliated her. The prom night scene is one of the most famous moments in the history of horror movies.
Also consider:
The Texas Chainsaw Massacre (1974) The Wicker Man (1973) The Omen (1976)
1980s
Creepshow (1982)
The best thing about Creepshow is that you don’t have to watch the whole film to enjoy it. The film comprises (consists of) five short dark comedy horror stories written by Stephen King and directed by George Romero. Creepshow isn’t a particularly good film by acting or film-making standards. It has the feeling of a comic book. Still, horror movie lovers will find a lot to enjoy here. It’s not too silly to be called a comedy, and it’s not too serious to be truly scary.
The Evil Dead (1981)
The Evil Dead follows five college students who stay the night in a cabin in a remote part of a forest. In the cabin, they listen to an audio tape which summons demons which possess their bodies. This film has a lot of gory (showing lots of violence or blood) special effects and make-up, which may be disturbing for some viewers.
Despite the very low budget used to make it, The Evil Dead lives on as a critical and fan favorite in the genre. The tight story drives viewers through a terrifying plot that gets more gruesome and tense with each passing scene.
The director, Sam Raimi, and lead actor, Bruce Campbell, went on to create two direct sequels, The Evil Dead II and Army of Darkness. Campbell plays the main role in both. Both sequels take a more comic approach than the first film. Developing a close relationship through their partnership, Campbell appears as a cameo character in all of Raimi’s films. Look for him in the Sam Raimi Spiderman trilogy films.
The Thing (1982)
John Carpenter made this science fiction horror film about a group of American researchers in Antarctica. They encounter “the thing”, an alien parasite which can take the shape of and imitate any person or creature which it absorbs. The researchers must fight against the parasite creature and their own sense of paranoia (false belief that other people are trying to harm you). The story becomes grimmer as the researchers lose trust in each other and realize that any of them could be an imitation. Kurt Russel plays one of the main characters here.
Although the film was released to negative reviews, it has grown in popularity over the years and is now considered a horror classic. It has been praised for its very impressive special effects and slow but steadily increasing suspense.
The alien is a terrible creature, but the main fear is not knowing which character is still human.
Also consider:
The Evil Dead II (1987) An American Werewolf in London (1981) Poltergeist (1982) The Fly (1986) Friday the 13th (1980) The Shining (1980) Prince of Darkness (1987) A Nightmare on Elm Street (1984)
1990s
Bram Stoker’s Dracula (1992)
Francis Ford Coppola directed this international renowned Gothic horror film which won Academy Awards for costume design, makeup, and sound editing. The story, of course, is a classic, based on the 1897 novel by Bram Stoker that built up the lore (traditional knowledge and beliefs) and mystery of Dracula, Van Helsing, and the vampire fantasy genre. Gary Oldman’s performance of Vlad Dracula might be the most impressive part of this film, but don’t ignore the excellent costumes, make-up effects, and background sets. Don’t miss out on Bram Stoker’s Dracula. It does a great job of telling this classic story in a unique way.
Francis Ford Coppola is a central figure in cinema, known especially for The Godfather series and Apocalypse Now.
Event Horizon (1997)
This science fiction horror film directed by Paul W.S. Anderson occurs in distant space. A group of astronauts go on a rescue mission near the planet Neptune when they suddenly find the Event Horizon, a spaceship that has long been missing. They board (get into or onto) the Event Horizon and discover that the entire crew is gone. They also find out that the ship’s engine is designed to open passages to another dimension. As they continue to look for the missing crew members, they realize that there is an evil presence on the ship.
Sam Neill is widely known for his role as Dr. Alan Grant in Jurassic Park. But he actually played a major role in Event Horizon and several other horror films—including another on this list, In the Mouth of Madness.
Scream (1996)
Scream is a slasher film directed by Wes Craven. The film stars a group of 90s TV and film celebrities (including Drew Barrymore, Neve Campbell, Courteney Cox, and others) who play high school students. A knife-wielding murderer wearing a ghost mask terrorizes the group, killing them off one by one. The film combines slasher horror with comedy and mystery elements. It also satirizes (makes fun of) clichés (common situations or characters) within the horror genre. The movie was very popular when it was released, and a series of sequels and films with similar stories were released thereafter.
Also, consider:
In the Mouth of Madness (1994) Army of Darkness (1993) The Blair Witch Project (1999) The Silence of the Lambs (1991) Candyman (1992) Tremors (1990)
2000s
Trick ‘r Treat (2007)
Trick ‘r Treat is an anthology (collection of art) film like Creepshow. It offers four different Halloween stories, but there is one character that appears across each of them. Every time one of the characters breaks a “rule” of Halloween, the character Sam shows up to show teach them a horrifying lesson. One reason you’ll love Trick ‘r Treat is that all the stories take place on Halloween, and the stories play on people’s expectations of Halloween customs and horror movie plots. It couldn’t be more a more perfect film to watch this season. All the stories are well-crafted, balancing a line of fun entertainment and scary thrills.
The Descent (2005)
The Descent is a British horror film about six adventure-seeking women who go spelunking (cave exploring) in a cave system. Inside the cave, they encounter a long-hidden group of bloodthirsty creatures who start to hunt them down.
The cave setting increases the tension since you know the characters have very few places to hide. Also, the moody soundtrack does a great job of building and holding suspense. This film also explores the characters’ flawed relationships and problems, adding a sense of personal development to this tale of monster horror.
The Mist (2007)
Frank Darabont directed this Stephen King science fiction horror adaptation. It follows a group of people who barricade themselves in a supermarket after a thick fog covers their entire small town. When anyone goes out into the fog, they are swept up or gruesomely attacked by monstrous insect-like creatures.
Although the monsters are huge threat to the characters, the film also explores the extreme tension between people as they struggle to survive the unnatural mist that drives them to the brink (edge) of sanity. The climax of the film is really remarkable.
Also consider:
Drag Me to Hell (2009) 28 Days Later (2002) Slither (2006) Let the Right One In (2008)
2010s
The Cabin in the Woods (2011)
The less I say about The Cabin in the Woods, the better. It follows a group of college students who visit a cabin in the woods, and you’ll just have to see the film to find out anything else. This is the kind of horror film where the surprise is the most rewarding part of the movie. I’ll just say this, the more horror movies you’ve seen in your life, the more you’ll appreciate The Cabin in the Woods.
Joss Whedon (Buffy the Vampire Slayer, Angel) wrote the screenplay for the film in just three days. The film has great special effects and make-up.
The Conjuring (2013)
The Conjuring is an expertly crafted supernatural horror film from director James Wan. It follows Ed and Lorraine Warren, a husband and wife team of paranormal (very strange events that can’t be explained by science) investigators, whose real-life reports have inspired many other horror films, like Annabelle and The Amityville Horror. In this film, the couple tries to help a family which recently moved into a severely haunted house in Rhode Island.
The chills (sudden feelings of fear) in The Conjuring are outstanding. The film does an amazing job of getting you to sympathize with the family and investigators’ plight (very bad situation) as they deal with the disturbing events taking place in the house.
The Conjuring is the first film in The Conjuring Universe, which includes direct sequels, the Annabelle series, and the newly released The Nun. Get Out (2017) Get Out is a landmark (very important achievement) of American horror films. The film is the directorial debut (first produced film) of Jordan Peele, a well-known comedian from his retired Comedy Central show, Key and Peele. It tells the story of an African-American man, played by Daniel Kaluuya, who goes to visit the family of his white girlfriend for the first time. While he stays at their home, he uncovers a horrifying secret.
Not only does the film tell an exceptional story of tension and terror, it spaces out the dread with moments of brilliant humor. Looking closely at the film, viewers will see how Jordon Peele addresses racism through the lens of (with the perspective of) a unique horror story while paying homage (respect based on previous work) to classics of the genre.
Also consider:
It Follows (2014) The VVitch (2015) It (2017) The Babadook (2014)
Some people might read this and think, why should I watch horror movies at all? I don’t like to be scared. Well, there’s not a perfect answer for that question. Your brain produces a mix of chemicals that makes you feel scared when you think something bad is going to happen. It’s the same as when you ride a roller coaster or do something else that takes you outside of your comfort zone.
If you enjoy suspense or the feeling of surprise that keeps you on the edge of your seat, then you can’t go wrong with any movie from this list for a great Halloween thrill. Just about all of them have received critical praise or have gone on to become fan favorites.
Moreover, watching movies can be a great way to improve your English! For one thing, you’ll get to hear English that isn’t coming from a textbook. The English spoken in movies is very natural, which means that it’s what you would hear from native English speakers. Second, when you watch a movie, you’ll develop a sense of the context around the dialogue. This means that you have chances to learn or guess vocabulary based on the situation. Finally, by hearing natural English in movies you can hear and see the way words are expressed. You can pay attention to body language, pronunciation, and reactions to understand what the characters really mean.
LASC faculty and staff always want to help students learn English in interesting ways. Teachers here would recommend you keep your dictionary by your side, turn on the English subtitles, and don’t worry about catching every word. Even rewind and repeat scenes if you’re using English movies to study. Watching movies, scary or not scary, can be a fun way to improve your English. You can also follow this blog for more great tips on learning English and living in southern California.
Talk to an LASC representative to learn how we can help you on your learning journey.

get to know the writer tag
tagged by @the-color-of-roseblood, @ghost-possum, and @thevajunglebook. thank you for tagging me and i’m sorry it took this long.
i’m bad at coming up with questions so i’m not going to do the 10 questions. but i am going to answer the questions that were listed. also this is an open tag, so anyone who wants to do it can do it.
rules: answer 10 questions, create 10 new questions, and then tag 10 people
from the-color-of-roseblood:
1) We always talk about favorites. What’s your least favorite book?
hmmm. one book i’ve always hated is the scarlett letter. we read it in school and it was awful.
2) Do you have a favorite place to write? What’s it like there?
i didn’t really have a favorite place to write until recently. a few months ago i finally got a desk and i’ve been in love with it ever since.
very, very cluttered. there’s all kinds of stuff piled on it. on one side i’ve got soda cans, plastic bottles, my phone; the other side is junk food, my glasses case, a couple of necklaces. i have an old sugar plum fairie barbie on the top shelf that i tried to sell, that nobody wanted even though i had it for like $5 (i might post a picture of it later bc it’s super pretty).
3) Do you have any artistic endeavors other than writing? If not, what else would you most like to learn to do?
back before the writing bug really bit me, i used to draw all the time. now i barely ever draw unless i get really inspired.
hmmm, i don’t know. maybe sign up for duolingo and learn other languages?? other than that i don’t know.
4) What’s your favorite holiday? Why? Have you ever written a story involving that holiday?
halloween is my favorite, followed closely by christmas just bc i love the tacky decorations and the music and the movies and pretty much everything about it.
looool i have tried to write fics involving these holidays, but they never come out how i want them to and i’ve kind of given up on it.
5) How do you fight writer’s block?
silly answer: drink so much caffeine i ascend to the astral plane to get advice from the writing gods.
actual answer: there’s not really an easy way to answer this. sometimes i see writing posts that are like, “you have to write every day!!” and i’m thinking y’know that’s not always possible. whether i’m out of inspiration/ideas, or i’m in a depression spiral, or i’m tired from work, or maybe i’m just not feeling that particular project. it’s not a sin to need a break from your wips, bc even though it’s happy work it’s still work. and there’s no shame in needing to take a breather to get yourself sorted out.
on days when i’m ready to write, i do different things to get myself pumped up for my wips. i’ll make playlists, make aesthetic boards, sometimes i torture my mutuals with rambles about my ocs or tag them with little excerpts from the project. i really like making an aesthetic tag so i can go and look at all the pretty stuff that makes me think of the wip, so i can remind myself why i want to write it in the first place.
6) At what point in a WIP do you decide to send it to your first beta readers/reviewers?
probably not until i’m at least done with a second draft. the first draft needs to have all those plot holes filled, all those loose threads woven back together, characters need developing. showing a beta reader my first draft would be like taking a person to a room filled with beginning sketches of people where they’re still just shapes instead of having any defining features.
7) What’s your greatest inspiration?
i don’t think i have one lol.
8) A lot of writers have certain things they like to describe - food, clothes, fights, party scenes. What’s your favorite thing to describe?
emotional scenes where characters talk about their problems and they hug and maybe even cry. i’m a terrible person.
9) What’s your approximate ratio of reading to writing? How do you find time for both? Do you do both on the same day, or split it up?
you’re going to judge me for this, but i haven’t been reading actual books lol. the last few months i’ve just been reading fanfic oneshots with like the occasional multichapter fic thrown in. my attention span has been terrible.
10) What books would you recommend to someone to get them into reading?
i think it depends on the person. what i might find compelling, someone else might find super boring.
from ghost-possum:
1. What is your favorite book in a genre that you don’t tend to write? If you do fantasy/sci-fi, what’s your favorite romance? If you write literary, what’s your favorite paranormal YA?
i don’t really like writing stuff that doesn’t have some kind of paranormal element. so i guess i’d say my writing enemy that i like reading is real world drama.
my favorite books that are like idk period pieces i guess?? are Anne of Green Gables and Pride and Prejudice.
as for stuff that’s based in more recent times, there’s a ya series i really like called tiny pretty things that’s about a group of ballerinas competing against each other for spots for prima ballerina?? and there’s a lot of drama and backstabbing. it’s kind of a dark series.
2. What book would you love to see turned into a movie or tv show? Any particular reasons why?
i can’t think of anything right now. maybe green angel by alice hoffman?
3. Have you ever written a character with a certain real-life person in mind. Was it someone you know in real life or someone famous?
some of my ocs were originally based off acquaintances, but as i kept writing them the characters changed so much that they became pretty much unrecognizable.
4. If your latest WIP had a color scheme, what would it be?
paper heart would be red, orange, pink, and purple. the colors of a sunset with the threat of darkness falling over everything.
5. What do you eat or drink while writing (if anything)?
s’mores poptarts if i’m too lazy to get up and fix myself something. chips. different sodas: cherry coke, sunkist, grape fanta.
6. What do you do to restore your inspiration when you’re not writing?
watch movies/tv shows. listen to podcasts or music. look at cool pictures.
7. Coffee, Tea, Booze, or ALL THREE?
coffee and booze. i’m not a big fan of tea.
8. Who is your favorite visual artist?
uhhhh, does studio ghibli count? their artwork is so appealing to look at.
9. Do you have any other creative pursuits outside of writing? What are they?
maybe learning other languages??
10. What is your favorite trope, the one you will always fall for and never get enough of?
AAAAAAAAAAA, ENEMIES TO FRIENDS TO LOVERS.
from thevajunglebook:
1. Describe your WIP as a cross between two movies.
i’m trying to think of what paper heart would be, but i’m drawing a blank. this needs to be its own game where someone else guesses what movies your wip is the lovechild of.
2. What’s your favorite part of writing communities?
cheering on and also being cheered on during the writing process. getting to read all these wonderful stories written by wonderful people. knowing other people are suffering just as much as i am lol.
3. If you could collaborate with any writer (whether friend or idol), who would it be and what would you work on together?
i am terrible at collaborating with other people lol.
4. Do you prefer reading/writing standalones or series?
i love reading series, but i’m not good at writing them lol. yet somehow i always end up writing series.
5. Who is your ultimate OC otp(+)?
canon: for the next three days verse it’s between leana/yvonne and jason/bella for otp status. my ot5 is carter/matteo/violet/tiffany/nina.
for defect i’d say my otp is joe/alec. also ethan/noah later on down the line.
ot3: ned/alec/sage
ot4: ned/alec/joe/ray.
au: joe/ned/carter
.
for the graveyard of the forgotten it’s definitely orrinaz/eliya/amnayel.
6. If your OC(s) joined tumblr, what type of blog would they run?
i wish i could answer this question with the dedication it deserves. i feel like their blogs would have a lot of memes and shitposts with some aesthetic stuff thrown in.
7. If you could write an adaptation of any story, which would it be?
while i have zero desire to write an adaptation for a story, i’ve always liked the idea of a movie version of Green Angel by Alice Hoffman. mostly bc it’s surreal, a little weird, post apocalyptic, and it would just look really cool.
8. What common writing tips never work for you? And/or what uncommon advice do you swear by?
anything that’s like, “if you don’t write everyday, you’re not a real writer!!” like chill dude. just bc i’m not cranking out 1,000 words a day like some lean, mean, writing machine doesn’t mean i’m not dedicated to what i’m doing.
9. Do you research before, during, or after writing sessions?
it depends. sometimes i get to a point in a fic where i’m like, “uh oh” and i go into a research spiral trying to find this one specific thing. thinking ah yes, this is the specific thing i need at this very moment that i probably could do without.
10. Have you had a writing epiphany that totally revamped your WIP?
if only. there were a few game changers in the next three days series that changed things for the better:
- the way carter and matteo first met lmao.
- violet’s existence.
- sage rescuing and then leaving violet and carter.
- carter and nina’s bromance.
- alec and carter, and also joe and matteo being siblings.
- tiffany seeing ghosts.

Fairy Halloween
Happy Halloween my pretties. I know how much you guys want me to update Passionate Revenge. But its October, I’m STILL trying to get a job and I really want to go to college. So for the time being, update and new stories will be even more strained than before. This a fic exchange on tumblr for capaleran2. also apologies, for I cannot write Miraxus despite sorta liking it. #ficwriterhalloweenexchange.
fSince its October and near Halloween (Even though I celebrate Trunk or Treat at my church. They say it’s safer to get treats at your church than neighborhoods.) I’ve decided to do a Halloween based Fairy Tail fic. It shall have the following couples: Jerza, Nalu, Gruvia, Gale, Rowen, Rokino, Mirafreed, Laxana, Bixanna, Elfever, Stinervea, Lories, Kinabra, and Lyredy. For@capaleran2
Basically this is an AU. No magic, no cute talking cats (Mainly Frosch) and I since I really like Eileen/Irene whatever. She’s going to be Erza’s loving mother and no one and tell me otherwise regardless of what has happened.
By the way since Halloween falls on a Tuesday which for most should be a school day and I rather this event take place on the weekend or Friday. I’m changing that. Now onwards.
It was October 31st sup>th, on a Friday in Fairy Tail Academy. Cute skeleton, pumpkin and ghost decorations decked the hallways, classrooms, and even the cafeteria and library. the lessons in English/Literature, Cooking, History and even film and drama were based around this spooky holiday.
In English they assignment was to wrote a Halloween based story. Some twilight fan girls(eye roll) wrote their own versions of a human, vampire and werewolf love triangle. Others were more original.
One girl with pretty blue hair that fell to her mid-waist in loose curls wrote a story starring her as the mermaid who was ensnared in love by a dark handsome vampire. Two others wrote stories about dragons cursed to change back and forth at night till true love set them free. One was a beautiful busty blonde with baby doll brown eyes. Her long hair falling to her waist in a braid. The other was another bluenette although her hair was shorter and spiky with an orange headband and was more petite. The final girl had pink hair and deep brown eyes. She was the shyest of all her friends and the one full of timidity. She wrote of a lion knight the saving her from a wicked green haired witch.
In cooking they were making either caramel apples and Halloween cake. They all had a blast decorating and choosing flavors. Ranging from chocolate to strawberry and red velvet. A gorgeous scarlet haired beauty was finishing decorating her strawberry cake with ghost-clad strawberries on the top. Her chocolate brown eyes glimmered with hunger at her creation and couldn’t wait to eat it later on. A second girl opted to do cupcakes instead and was finishing a very special one. Though she was about the youngest in the class it was only by two years, she was the scarlet haired girl’s younger sister. Two girls who were sisters, one, the older sister with long hair that fell beneath her breasts, with dark blue eyes. The younger girl had shorter hair. They were making chocolate blanc cupcakes with unique designs for each of their friends.
History talked about the background of Halloween, or it’s more appropriate title: ‘all Hallows Eve.’ Where children would dress up as monsters and ghoul in order to ward off evil.
In film they were watching Halloween movies, albeit appropriate ones such as Addams family values* and Casper. Most had no complaints about the movies chosen although there were a few whom complained at the childish movies. But all it took was some threatening about a weekend assignment due on Monday with no doubt nobody would do it, the naysayers shut up.
When the bell signaled the end of the day many kids swarmed the hallways. Some went over their plans for pranking and scaring little kids out of their hard earned candy. Some discussed which horror franchise to watch, Child’s play, Nightmare on Elm street or the one that was cliched but well placed choice.
The aforementioned girls met up in the school parking lot. Along with their other friends, Minerva Orlando, Kinana Scales, Cana Alberona, Meredy Sensor, and Evergreen Gorgon, They all got in their own car or carpooled heading to Cana’s large house, as her father Gildarts Clive would be out of tending to his work. They all decided to meet up at the meeting point for the big event, s ghost train. There would be food, non alcoholic drinks, to Cana’s dismay, though everyone knew Cana would sneak a flask or two in.
Once they got there they immediately went to taking their costumes out of Cana’s closet. Lucy decided to be a Cinderella character though with a baby doll pink dress in lieu of a blue one, while Natsu , of course, decided to be a as he put it”scary awesome dragon. Erza was dressed as Ariel, her hair in beautiful curls near end, with her seashell top and sparkling green skirt and her lotus flower, she really fit the part while her boyfriend Jellal Fernandes had opted to be a sexy pirate rather than a prince. Once Juvia had decided to be a virgin bride once she heard her darling boyfriend Gray Fullbuster would be going as a vampire. Levy and her boyfriend Gajeel were going as a red riding hood and big bad wolf pair after seeing Dany Darkly’s Wolf song video on YouTube. Wendy and her boyfriend Romeo Conbolt decided to be a Tinkerbell and Peter Pan combination.
Yukino Aguria and her boyfriend Rouge Cheney had decided to do opposites so she was an Angel, you can thank her older sister Sorano for that one. While Rouge at the urging of his cute and timid girlfriend dressed as Lucifer Morningstar from the hit TV show Lucifer( I love that show, don’t judge meh)
Mirajane ‘Mira’ Strauss and her green haired boyfriend Freed Justine had decided to dress as a bridal sacrifice and the demon who’d whisk her away. Her younger sister Lisanna and her boyfriend Bixlow Totems were dressed a Princess Daisy and Luigi from the Mario franchise. The middle sibling Elfman and his girlfriend Evergreen were dressed as Greek figures, namely Achilles and a nymph, the latter wanted to be a fairy, but grudgingly agreed to couples costumes.
Cana and her boyfriend Laxus had became a Pokemon Trainer and her Pikachu. Laxus was not too happy about it but softened up when his neighbor little Asuka Conell beamed and smiled up to him when she heard. So he couldn’t be TOO mad.
Aries Rams and her boyfriend, the infamous flirt Leo Leo ‘Loke’ Lions had decided to become what their respective zodiac members.
Former delinquent turned friend Minerva Orlando and her boyfriend Sting Eucliffe were a tigress and silver dragon, though Sting would argue he wasn’t copying Natsu and instead was doing Chinese Zodiacs, everyone knew that was bull.
Kinana and her boyfriend Erik Venom had became a snake and her snake charmer wearing a tight scale like purple and white dress and a snake charmer’s outfit.
Finally Meredy and her boyfriend Lyon Vastia, Gray’s stepbrother were dressed as a miko and a ice spirit.
After getting dressed they all hopped into their cars Erza with Lucy, Juvia, Aries and Wendy. Cana with Levy, Mira, Lisanna, Evergreen and Kinana. Minerva with Yukino, and Meredy.
After arriving and locking their cars. They meet up with their respective boyfriends and presented their tickets. Seeing all the decorations and food they all went off with their partner to do different things. Although Wendy had to stick close to Erza since their mother Eileen said to keep an eye the two of them. She was a really loving mother and wasn’t too keen on boys’ laying their hormone-stained hands on her precious children.’
They all had the time of their lives and when it ended at 1am, they were ll pooped. Natsu, Gajeel, Sting and Gray got into an eating contest, which in all reality was a bad idea, especially on a train.
The next day while the four idiots were fighting off stomach aches, the rest spent the day with friends or their lover.
And that’s all folks. Sorry there wasn’t any dialogue. But I trust that you guys can use your imaginations
This doesn’t mean I’m back yet.
I’ll be posting this on tumblr and Fanfiction. And maybe wattpad.
Again happy Halloween.

"It runs on nothing but dreams and jazz music. Love too..."
The best time of the year is finally upon us! Yup, talking about Halloween, which I celebrate by packing every single available moment with scary movies. Also, scary video games. Alas, because I’m not much of a PC person (yet), I haven’t had a chance to play FAITH…
Yet I am a total fanboy of the PS2, hence why I’ve expressed my fondness for Haunting Ground quite a few times already…
I’m also quite familiar with Simple 2000 Series Vol. 113: The Tairyou Jigoku...
BTW, though last two are courtesy of obscurevideogames, which has been posting gifs from various obscure video games indeed, which also happen to be horror related all month long. Like Twilight Syndrome: Saikai/Reunion, a title I’ve yet to experience, despite being a total fanboy of the PSone as well...
Late to the party I know, but I only just became acquainted with Mason Lindroth and basically want him to do the graphics for all the games...
Something that’s somewhat along the same lines, kinda/sorta, is Middens (via koldspaghetti)...
Remember Gacha Man, one of SPLENDID LAND’s hand crafted robot masters? Guess what; the collection is finally complete…
My fave would have to be (and not just because he reminds of Soundwave) SLN-014 Cassette Man: “by playing different music tapes, his abilities change. he mostly listens to the same few songs over and over though”...
I also dig the redesign of Mega Man himself…
If Splatoon was on the GBA, this is what it would look like, according to suzi-hhh...
It’s somewhat old news, and to be honest, I’m not exactly blown away by them, but for those who missed it and might be interested, behold a Super Famicom Mini-tie in shirt from the King of Games...
The love for the Super Fami is very strong in Japan, and miki800 recently posted a roundup of various goods. With the most interesting being what appears to be a book…
… Which as it turns out is just a blank notebook. But hey, that means you finally have something to write high scores into, given that all the instruction manuals are digital! Never mind the save function on the Super Fami Mini/SNES Classic.
miki800 also recently visited an insanely super awesome looking store. My fave bits would have to be the bootleg AM2 hat…
The Super Girl Boy shirt…
The handmade Space Invader…
And this off brand Lego set (I wonder what that particular Soundwave toy is all about)...
Speaking of threads, I have a new fave Tumblr that’s simply calls itself Video Game Jackets. Here we have Naoto Ohshima’s Sonic Jacket...
Then there’s this Darius jacket…
… which is available at Taito’s just opened barcade, MEGARAGE.
And speaking of large fish, arcadephile has a pic of Stephen Spielberg and an arcade game that’s not officially based on Jaws though its source of inspiration is unmistakable...
Mysterious0bob has this noteworthy observation when it comes to Cuphead...
“So everyone knows about the Gunstar Heroes references in Cuphead but I can’t help but feel this boss is a reference to The Adventures of Batman & Robin on the Sega Mega Drive. Its at very least a huge coincidence.
It's not too clear in these screenshots but they have the exact same method of attacking as well (minus the summoning of ghost mice).“
... BTW, I chose a different, higher quality image for Batman & Robin (hope Mysterious0bob doesn’t mind).
Please enjoy this very nice Nier sketch, by Mira Ong Chua…
Along with some Nier… school fashion? By @cyocyo_tasaka, via aku-no-homu…
And here’s a nice Metal Gear Solid fan art, by Justin Currie, via gamefreaksnz…
An illustration by Danny Hellman for New York Press from back in the day (it, along with Screw, basically kept local cartoonists afloat during the late 80s to early 2000s), depicting the infamous first release from Ice T’s hardcore band Body Count (which was also the first CD I ever purchased)...
I guess this is a loosely translated Metroid 4koma... or is it poorly (via tabletorgy-art)?
You know how horrible the Secret of Mana remake looks? Whomever should just get the person who did this re-imagining of Chrono Trigger...
Also thanks to arcade-crusade, I now really want a clear DS...
Am not entirely sure what I’m seeing here; a Game Gear running MSX games (via sixteen-bit)?
doctorbutler wonders who did this Street Fighter x Beavis & Butthead mash-up and I too would like to know!
Though the identity of the artist responsible for arguably be the most famous SF2 illustration is well known: Kinu Nishimura. And here’s the WIP version, via videogamesdensetsu...
Sticking with VGD for a sec; say hello to the women of Renai Kōza Real Age...
I also respect any game that has the guts to not bother putting the title on its cover…
From 2D to 3D, here we have the evolution of the Virtua Fighters...
Again, this will be old news to some, but for everyone else, it was recently discovered what Yoshi originally looked like in Super Mario World…
There's apparently a dedicated tool that's just for watching the pre-rendered backgrounds in Silpheed?
And sticking with shmups, ship designs for the rather obscure (and super ambitious) Philosoma…
Any opportunity to post Vic Viper fan art is one I am all too happy to utilize...
Also via the Tumblr that lives up to its namesake is some laserdisc based title starring a ship that I am absolutely in love with...
Here’s the back, btw…
And here’s a rather mysterious flyer…
Equally cryptic is this… I honestly don’t know (via strawberrytabasco)....
[UPDATE: 10/15/17] The mystery has been solved, courtesy of mendelpalace...
“Yo! Just wanted to tell you that the "Blipverts" image from that post you made is related to Max Headroom, a cyberpunk TV show from the 80s. The first episode was called Blipverts, and dealt a TV station making high speed commercials condensed into a few seconds, which have a side effect of making some people's heads explode.”
Heading towards the left is what appears to be a Japanese high school student being followed by what appears to be a ghost in what appears to be a Game Boy Color game (via corporalsteiner)...
[UPDATE: 10/16/17] Actually, according to lunaticobscurity...
“that's no ghost, it's lum from the early 80s anime urusei yatsura!“.
And heading towards the right is quite obviously the dude from Altered Beast, corrupted (via corruptionasart)...
Time for another animated gif featuring a giant spider, but also time for another animated gif from Sin & Punishment (via n64thstreet)…
It’s also time, especially since it's been a while, for some video games x cats (via tokkeki)...
Time to wrap things up with a scary story, since again, tis the Halloween season. And the following is a truly horrific tale, one that will send chills down the spines of anyone… who is into preserving old arcade cabinets…
Though the spirits of the past remain with us nevertheless… in the form of cheesy store displays (via arcadezen)...
Don’t forget: Attract Mode is now on Medium! There you can subscribe to keep up to date, as well as enjoy some “best of” content you might have missed the first time around, plus be spared of the technical issues that’s starting to overtake Tumblr.
