it's my birthday!! so i shall write something good for you all. :)

"guess whose special day it is?" he gloated for you, poking at your cheek and smiling like a little kid. "hm?"

you sat in silence and gave him a small smile.

"mine?"

"yes!" he exclaimed and picked up your "happy birthday" squishmallow, along with others from his collection of "stuffed goods".

"what's on the itinerary for today? you're the birthday princess. it's all you."

you shrugged and rested your chin on your hand.

"i dunno. cake?"

"c-cake? i mean cake is good, but that's all you wanna do? eat cake?"

"it's my birthday, and i'll eat cake if there's cake."

actually, you thought. i wanna go home and cry and sob and wail and be snotty for the rest of my life.

he pouted and stared at you - birthdays aren't supposed to be sad. they're supposed to be happy.

"hey," he poked your cheek again. "what's up?"

"nothing." you chuckled. "why?"

"because something's up."

"nothing is up."

"something is up." there was a deep sincerity in his eyes, piercing through every wall you tried to put up.

you held yourself together and inhaled. your chest was tight.

"i want ice cream."

and so you got ice cream.

if that's all you got, you would've been fine. you had him, and cold happiness- what else could you ask for?

"listen, what's going on?"

"i'm fine, baby," you laughed off his worry. "seriously."

"babe, i'm being for real. what is going o-"

"i'm fine! just leave me alone."

he sunk back into the bench, quietly scooping the cookies and cream out of his cup.

y'know when you bend a stretchy ruler and it turns pale under the tension? maybe not, but nothing else could convey how you felt in that moment. stretched. tight. overextended.

the day had been crap since it started, and you couldn't tell him why. he'd never understand.

you sobbed into your ice cream cup, wiping your snot on your hoodie sleeve.

"hey, hey, hey-" he cooed.

"i'm fine."

"uh, yeah, no- you're not."

he grabbed you before you could stand, slamming you back on the bench.

"hey! talk to me. what the hell is going on?!"

and just like that, everything came pouring out. the worry, the stress, the pain, the regret - you laid it on there for him to see, expecting him to kick it away and use the good 'ol, "it'll be okay."

but he didn't.

he didn't pat your back and kiss you, whispering "i understand" or "it'll be fine".

he sat beside you and pulled you into him, urging you to continue with your venting, and took it all on himself. he didn't shoo your pain away, he picked it up and put it on his own back.

and though this doesn't necessarily have a happy ending, the two of you figured it out in the end.

i am officially one quarter of a century old today.

Final birthday dinner is finally done and it was wonderful. I got to spend time with my mom, her bf, brother in law, sis and nieces. We're all usually on different schedules so it was a real treat to spend time together. It was a nice place with an ocean view and a great view of the Queen Mary. The food was so fresh and delicious. After dinner they brought me a dessert on the house. It was great. What made my night was a very special gift that my mother gave me.

Before we left the house she brought down the first gift which was a really pretty purse and matching wallet. It was love at first sight. I absolutely took it with me to the restaurant. It was too cute not to show off and it matched my outfit really well. It wasn't until we were seated that she sneakily pulled out another gift from her purse. A small gift bag with a black box inside.

I looked at her in shock and told her the purse was more than enough but she insisted that I take it and open it. I thought it would be earrings because last time she bought me and my sister diamond earrings as a Christmas gift but it wasn't earrings.

She bought me a ring. And it's a beautiful fucking ring. To be exact it's a Le Vian Chocolatier ring. I will forever cherish and protect this gift. I told her it was too much and that she really shouldnt have, but she told me I was worth it... 🥺😭

Ignore my awful nails. I haven't gotten them done because I'm waiting for my nails to heal after I chewed off my acrylics from anxiety/restlessness when I had covid 🤦‍♀️😑😒.

My other gifts were just as great and meaningful too. Two gifts are very much part of my culture and they are so badass!

The first one is a hand tooled leather purse that is just gorgeous up close. The detail is so amazing and the smell hhhhhh. I love the smell of leather. It's so pretty and I can't wait to use it!

The second gift was from the Mayan pyramid in Chichen Itza. An obsidian statue that was hand carved and blessed by the people in Cichen Itza. I love it so much.

I love love LOVE the way the obsidian shimmers and looks like it has a glow to it. It's beautiful and is sitting next to my death whistle. Freakin legit!

The final gift is only part of a bigger gift but it's still cute

The person who gave it to me surprised me, but I'm very touched that it was given to me when I was feeling really down and I almost started crying. It's only part of the actual gift but it was the only thing I felt like sharing from it. Note the meaning of the doll 🥲.

This whole last week has been amazing filled with dinners, drinks, and karaoke and I know I keep repeating myself but I'm so blessed and thankful to have amazing people in my life who took the time to wish me well and celebrate with me.

What an amazing way to start 34 🥰

As you stepped into the dark room, confusion etched across your face, you couldn't help but wonder where everyone was.

"Hello? Everyone, where are you?" you called out, the only response being the echo of your own voice.

Turning on the lights revealed an unexpected scene of celebration. Decorations adorned the living room, and a beautifully crafted birthday cake stole the spotlight.

"HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!" The chorus of greetings erupted, and you found yourself surrounded by them.

A soft smile touched your lips as tears welled up in your eyes. "You're all here!? Wha— aww..!" The warmth of the moment overwhelmed you.

"Hey, hey, don't cry! It's your birthday!" Tighnari exclaimed, blinking in surprise as he approached with a worried expression.

"Pfft, it's amusing seeing you cr—" Scaramouche's cheeky comment was swiftly interrupted by a resounding smack from Nahida, who glared at him before turning to you with a wide smile.

"We wish you a happy birthday, traveler," Zhongli greeted, patting you on the shoulder with his calm demeanor.

Behind them, Xiangling held a tray of delicious-looking dishes, while Venti strummed a cheerful tune on his lyre. Hu Tao ignited a sparkler, and Chongyun and Xingqiu were engaged in friendly banter. Mona, perched on a chair, winked as if she knew the surprise all along.

The celebration continued with laughter, stories, and the exchange of gifts from each character. It turned out that they had coordinated this surprise to make your birthday truly special.
