Stepping Through A Foggy Life
Life is constantly changing for us but we always follow our own path. We never know the exact details about our next chapter. Sometimes our thoughts go off on tangents but we love to dream about the possibilities that lay before us and entertain ideas about our future. With each step we take up this unpredictable foggy mountain of life we can see the next step clearer and clearer. The most interesting steps we reach are not the ones laid down before us, but they are the ones we make out of our own efforts. We are constantly anxious and enthusiastic about where to place our feet next.

Stockholm Part 2
Here are the rest of our Stockholm pictures. Enjoy!
(Luckily we were there before the terrorist attack on April 7th, 2017. We did not know anybody involved, but send our thoughts and good vibes to the families who have lost loved ones.)
Here are some pictures of the busy street when we first arrived. There are so many taxis! This was just outside of the bus station when we first got into Stockholm.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
On our first day we just checked out the area where our hotel was, which was Old Town Stockholm. We saw some amazing statues and signs, and got some good pictures of the streets. We really loved the cobblestones, though the plastic wheels on our suitcases did not.

We took some wonderful night-walks around the town.

The next day we decided to take a trip to an all-vegan store called The Good Store. Here are some photos of the architecture and art along the way!

Here was the bridge we had to cross to get to the other island that is a part of Stockholm. It started to snow as we were walking!

Who would have thought we would see a telephone booth?!

(Not quite sure what this lion creature is, but there were a lot of them!)

Phew, finally made it to the vegan store, and they had an adorable cafe. Such a cute view! We got to try some Swedish Soda (it was super flavorful and made out of real ingredients, like fermented Cola nuts and real oranges!).

On our very last day, we were on our way to the bus station when we saw this amazing display by the Royal Guard right in front of the Royal Palace. We are not sure where they were going, or why they were marching, but it sure was impressive and we’ve never seen anything like it. It was a great send off!

Stockholm!
Such a long trip to our hotel! But it was worth it! Our hotel was located in Stockholm Old Town. We stayed at the Castle House Inn in Stockholm Old Town.
Tumblr media
After such a long walk to our hotel through all of the cobblestone streets, not to mention a million hour flight, we were definitely ready for some sleep! Here is what the cobble stone roads looked like. This was about one street away from our hotel.
Tumblr media
Upon arrival we found out that our bank had canceled our hotel reservations >:( We were pretty grumpy about it, but the hotel staff was awesome. They found us an empty room, and even though there was an extra bed, we only had to pay our original price. Phew!
The room was adorable! Clean and plain, but adorable!
Tumblr media
Every room in the hotel has a theme. Our room’s theme must have been nature. Here is the neat wicker light and our herb poster :)
Tumblr media
This poster was on the wall, and the quote was actually perfect for all that’s been going on lately. It was hard traveling so far away from our family just as we all lost such a beautiful person in our lives, but he wouldn’t have wanted us to miss out and we know he is watching over us.
Tumblr media
On another note, do not be fooled by these Swedish candies. They are not snow caps! They are filled with some sort of Rum cream. Pretty yummy, just not what we were expecting!
Tumblr media
And lastly, here is a Stockholm selfie. Getting ready to embrace the snow!

Journey to Stockholm
We can’t believe it’s already been 10 days since we left Arkansas for Sweden. It’s been a long trip to Jönköping, Sweden from Fayetteville, Arkansas. We are going to be blogging our trip, but wanted to start with the beginning. So here is all about our travels to Stockholm!
Tumblr media
Our first flight was from Fayetteville, AR to Chicago, Il.
Tumblr media
Then from Chicago to Frankfurt, Germany. Which, let us tell you, it is pretty boring to fly for 9 hours straight.
Tumblr media
Our last flight was from Frankfurt to Arlanda, Sweden. The layovers were the worst part of the flights because we had 1 hour to get off of one plane and onto another. Which isn’t much time considering that the airports are so large and we’ve never been out of the country.
Tumblr media
Once we landed in Arlanda, Sweden we found a bus to Stockholm which was only a 40 minute ride.
Tumblr media
We finally got to Stockholm and we had no idea where our hotel was. The Stockholm Central Station provided free Wi-Fi so we were able to find the location of our hotel. A taxi was out of the question since the cost was too high. So... we walked with our luggage from the central station to our hotel room at the Castle House Inn. (Keep in mind all of the streets were cobblestone and we had our giant suitcases with tiny plastic suitcase wheels! The struggle was real.) It took us about an hour as our GPS wasn’t working quite that well, but we finally found it!
Tumblr media
P.S. - Check out our next post for pictures of our awesome hotel and Stockholm!

Stockholm! After 13 hours of flying time, 1 hour bus ride, and 1 and a half hour walk we made it to our hotel. Imagine taking 6 weeks worth of stuff all that way... Tomorrow is a 4 hour bus ride to Jönköping. Over the weekend we'll share more of our adventure. #happilyeverhoffman #stockholm #sweden #jönköping #springsnow #adventure (at Stockholm, Sweden)

Friday Date Night
Got dressed up and went to see Passengers at the AMC (mostly because the tickets there are noticeably cheaper than the Razorback theater). Also snuck in some homemade popcorn and snacks in ... ssshhhhhhh. Great movie.
Afterwards we went down to Meiji’s for the first time to have dinner. Had the tempura vegetables, miso soup, and shared 3 rolls of sushi. Dinner was amazing, as was the atmosphere. We would definitely recommend.
Finishing up with a quiet night at home with a few drinks and discussing what we want out of life. Sometimes it’s okay to talk about your feelings if you’re with the right company > . <
Friday January 13, 2016.
