I was shocked that AZ is not just flat dry hot desert! Probably one of the prettiest most scenic drives (and nice & smooth drives) I’ve experienced in a while! Driving through canyons and mountains was just way beyond my expectations and such a nice surprise! Driving from Phoenix to Flagstaff where the temperature drops quite drastically, it’s shocking! Loved being that high in elevation! I’ve come to realize that I love mountains as much as I love the ocean! And the Grand Canyon... when you drive to the canyon and it just looks like any other parking lot to walk up to one of the most jaw dropping sights you will ever see. It’s so nice and humbling to know that there is such beauty in the world that it delights and surprises you. Grand Canyon brought that reaction out in all of us. We were able to experience the Grand Canyon via helicopter! (Shoutout to Scenic Papillion Airlines) where we literally flew around the canyon! Hands down one of the best experiences of my life. While we waited for our helicopter ride, we were able to see one of the crazy loud fighter jets take off at the Grand Canyon airport where it literally went a direct 90 degrees straight up and started doing loop to loops around us.
