tell me your favorite hannibal episode

Thank you so much for your question! A little bit difficult to answer. Even though I love TWOTL, it's not even near the top, because for me it was quite boring until the last 20 minutes with the whole "please", "going my way" and "it's beautiful".

So, answering your question, it's totally Dolce. A LOT of different content, so much stimulation, so many beautiful scenes. I'm not in the state to express how much I love it, the reunion and the love bird talks. Not forgetting murder wives, of course.

Naka-Choko is the second place, together with Mizumono. Mizumono, just like TWOTL gets me most only in the last minutes. BUT BLOODY HANNIBAL...It's a weak spot. Naka-Choko is just beautifully filmed, and the whole murder husbands atmosphere is so pleasant to watch.

The third places is Secondo. I LOVE WILL IS SECONDO. My boyfriend is so beautiful. Rewatching it regulary with Teeth by Aviators in background. Plus the whole Hannibal&Bedelia discussion. Mmm

Someone finally asked Mads & Hugh what [they think] happened during the time skip in TWOTL from arriving in the escape house to the wine scene in the evening.

Hugh: "They just sat there in silence."

Mads: "Well there's a bottle of wine that's opened, I guess they've had a few. I guess it's also a question for the audience, what would you like?" OH HE KNOWS WHAT HE'S DOING and "As you can tell they showered."

the way Will pulled Hannibal in a gentle embrace, the sweet reassurance that he was there.

I suggest rewatching this scene and considering the embrace, the way they hold one another, and Will's head in the crook of Hannibal's neck, hand caressing the back of his shoulder, and soon after, cradling the back of his head before pulling them over the edge..

the correlation is subtle but it is there. the way they held one another, in simplicity, is similar; but the meaning behind it changes so much.

in twotl is is for once THEM THEIR design. not hannibals, not Will's, THEIRS.

as opposed to twotl, in Mizumono there were so many clear betrayals, and contradictions. the embrace is a bitter-sweet form of almost comfort.. a hopeless yearning embrace before their gut-wrenching departure (yes, the pun was intended)

in twotl it is instead a genuine embrace. the two brutally shed the skins they had spent their whole lives building until that moment. In that moment the two coexisted fluidly without contradiction and beautifully emerged into themselves.

Although, Will knew they couldn't live like this long, nor could they live without that venerable coexistence. Will held Hannibal in those final moments lovingly rather than out of need or hopeless yearning. if you listen to the scene without music the two even sync their breath.. in that moment they were both at peace, fully content.. in the face of that shared venerability. the touch was comforting and reassuring as there came the silence; the only place the two could continue to coexist.

I don't know who needs this info but I just combed through every moment of TWOTL curious to see if Will has ever stopped wearing his wedding ring with Molly at one point in Season 3B but no, he was still wearing it 'til the end.

i don't think people who didn't watch hannibal as it was airing will ever fully understand what it was like. not in a gatekeep-y kind of way at all, fuck that, but experiencing that shit as it was happening was absolutely buck wild insane and i've been chasing that high ever since tbh
