A collection of one shots about the different rumors and assumptions made about our favorite Top Gun characters

Skin Care

Hangman doesn't have a skin care regime. He doesn't have a locker of moisturizers and lotions, he doesn't know the difference between an eye mask from an ice pack and he can barely remember to put on sunscreen at the beach. He takes absolutely no measures to preserve his face or skin and knows that the smirks he is forever giving will lead to wrinkles around his eyes soon enough .

For some reason though, everyone just assumes that when he heads out of a bar early on any given night it's to run through a ten step routine for the perfect beauty sleep. He doesn't understand it. Most of these pilots have been around with him long enough, hell some even roomed with him. They have seen his stuff, or lack thereof, and must have noticed that he spent only a fraction of the time they accused him of in the bathroom.

But that has never stopped the teasing.

Teasing Jake can deal with though. He doesn't mind it, laughs along with it. He knows he's good looking, and he's never been ashamed to admit it or use it to his advantage. It's just strange when the teasing becomes full on rumors. When people ask him for creams or talk about name brands of beauty products they expect him to know. The other day Phoenix had rummaged around his shower stuff in annoyance convinced he would have some kind of lotion she could borrow since she had used up all of hers. He watched in amusement, his eyebrow cocked, until finally Nat had had the good graces to realize she was wrong in her assumption. Of course that had earned the female pilot an endless stream of comments from Hangman about his tan and blemish free skin being god-given and borderline godlike (cue wrinkle inducing smirk), and how he understands their jealousy especially from the female pilots (cue Phoenix giving him a not so subtle middle finger and squirting him in the face and hair with all the shampoo left in his bottle).

But still, as long as Hangman looked how he did and presented himself like he did, he knew the rumors and assumptions about his glowing skin being anything but all natural will always follow him. A price he'd have to pay for his "perfection."
