There’s a lot to like about Modern Mouse, a gift shop filled with handmade, indie goods from over 300 local and indie artists, mostly from the Bay Area. It has many affordable, unique gifts and is proudly supportive of artists and the LBGTQ community. It reminds me of a local, brick & mortar Etsy shop.

They carry greeting cards, candles, clothing, art prints, pins, bags, plushies, books, and lots of jewelry. It would appeal mostly to millennials. It’s also a terrific place to get a local souvenir or to get something to show off your local pride. There are plushies that feature the Golden Gate Bridge and cable cars, children’s books in several foreign languages, clothing emblazoned with local cities, etc.

I didn’t love the greeting card selection, but I was able to find a card for Father’s Day. The art and jewelry didn’t appeal to me either.

I am SO happy with how my first two colour linoprint tuned out! I printed the berries first, then once they were dry I carefully lined up the second block with the leaves and stems and printed it on top.
