Your art is lovely to look at. I will devour it every-time. Actual question now what brushes do you use?
AH that's super sweet of you!!
To start off I use Paint tool Sai which is not as popular it was back in 2014 but I would still love to show you! (I'll show all settings so you can play around in your own program!)
It's a rather long thread so I'll cut it here but I've thought of maybe doing a (cell)shading/ colouring tutorial sometime if anyone would be interested in that, I think that's more universal for all programs!
I have three main brushes I: sketch, lineart and blend
Sketch is a pretty broad flat brush, is just mapping out shapes for me.
Lineart is my old cell shading brush hence the name but it's a flat soft brush, I like when lineart is a little messy so I have the stabilizer set to 1 all the time. This creates a bit more handdrawwn sketchy look. I think the base round brush in Clip Studio Paint gives a similar result!
The flatcolor are just any standard brush, just something that covers the piece without any low opacity edges; however, the "blendy" is one of my favourites. It makes a very subtle blush that automatically blend with what's on top. I love using it for blush, hair, and shadows.
The example here isn't great but a little more visible here (the blush, lips, bag under eyes and hair dye):
I haven't found a good alternative in Clip Studio Paint yet, only Sai. Finale version is rendered in Photoshop and I don't use any new brushes there, just different layer modes.
Hope this helps! Im a big nerd that loves talking about this kind of stuff
