Tips for Shopping Ethnic Dresses for Diwali
The festival of lights is already knocking at the door. If you stay abroad or in India- start shopping for Diwali to avoid the last-moment rush keep exploring the top online stores like Vishnu, always ready to showcase the best collections of ethnic kurtis online.
Read the latest fashion blogs or videos relevant to finding the hottest trends in ethnic clothes this year before you start shopping for a sanganeri kurti, a white handblock print kurta, or a co-ord set suit for the upcoming festival season. From whichever community you belong to, exchanging gifts during religious festivals is common.
Among various gifting options clothes and sweets hold a major position. If you have your mother, sisters, and several women from your in-laws- you might have a thought to purchase a piece of kurti set for each of them. For the younger ones –buying long or midi ethnic dresses is also a good option.
Here are some tips for shopping ethnic dresses for Diwali—
Shop online to save more
When you have to buy quite a few pieces of ethnic clothes as presets for Diwali, visit the relevant online stores such as Vishnu where they have an array of presentable kurti sets of the latest trends. Reputed online fashion stores quote an affordable price that the retail stores can never offer you.
Unless you desire the shop from a designer store for this Diwali, you can save more by choosing to purchase new clothes online from a renowned establishment, highly reviewed with five-star ratings for their services and product variety. Compare the selected products from a few renowned virtual stores and purchase from the one asking for a lesser cost or offers like free delivery or same-day delivery etc.
Get the best-fit size
Finding the right size and color is also a significant matter of concern. Therefore, before picking a bagru print kurtafor you or your grandmother or mother-make sure you find the right size. Often the retail stores run out of sizes when the online kurta store can offer sizes more than 6xl. If you have to buy plus-size kurtas for your elderly parent or grandparent- you can find the huge collections of kurtas under the same roof of any size you want.
Try and buy
It’s your Diwali shopping so be skeptical about the dresses that you purchase. Opt for the try-and-buy option before you purchase any dress from an online store. Most companies offer such facilities. However, there are rooms open for easy returns within a certain timeframe. Keep a close note on it and return the product properly and they will deliver you a bigger or smaller size or can also give you your money back.
Keep rooms open for variety. Besides the festival of light of Hindus, you might have to attend an Eid celebration with your friends so make sure you buy a sarara set kurti with a long dupatta or a lehenga set for a change.

What is block printing?
The process of printing on carefully carved wooden blocks is known as block printing. Various types of block printing are used on paper or cloth to accentuate the ethnic appeal of the goods that are made. Wooden blocks are used by craftspeople to print lovely patterns on fabric. Hand-block printed kurtas are popular throughout the globe due to their timeless beauty. There is nothing like the artistic appeal of hand printing.
Different Types Of Block Printed Kurtas
Ajrak
Ajrak is among the most well-known types of block printing. Natural colours derived from vegetables are the foundation of Ajrakh block printing. The printed fabric's background is indigo and crimson red, giving it a unique appearance. This type of block printing is widely used in Pakistan's Sindh, Gujarat, Kutch, and Rajasthan. Buy ethnic suits for women online, and look elegant and beautiful with block printed kurtas.
The most common pattern in Ajrak blocks is dots between two lines. In almost every design, the radius of these dots is the same. These dots were initially carved out by hand; later, brass nails were used. This is an essential factor in determining the skill level of the craftsman.
Akola
The Rajasthani city of Udaipur is the centre for this "dabu" block printing type. This ancient art form's fundamental basis is the "Dabu" art, which translates as the press.
Both conventional objects and natural shapes inspire the designs used in Akola block printing.
Bagh
The Bagh region of Madhya Pradesh is the origin of the traditional block print known as Bagh. Only natural colours, primarily red and black, were used to dye this hand-block printed fabric. The Bagh block print is an excellent option if you want to add something ethnic to your wardrobe to boost the attractiveness of your outfits. The block printed kurtas look great with this technique. The block printed is also now used in short kurtis; the kurtis with block prints look elegant and royal. Are you confused about where to buy Indian short kurti? Bagru
Natural colours are used in a style of hand block printing called "Bagru print" by the "Chippas" of Bagru, India, who have been practising cloth printing for over a century. All around the world, these Bagru prints are well recognized. Bagru prints use a unique printing technique, which is in contrast to ordinary prints. In the traditional printing process, wooden blocks are used. Using a carved block in the selected colour, the desired pattern is first etched on a wooden block before repeated on the cloth.
Batik
The Indonesian technique known as batik involves covering the entire fabric with wax-resist colouring. This approach originated on the Indonesian island of Java. Batik is made in two ways: either using a copper stamp known as a cap to print the resist or with a spouted tool called a canting to draw dots and lines on the resist. Hand-block printed salwar suits look very elegant and beautiful. Buy a designer suit set online from The Jaipur Loom.
Kalamkari
The unique hand-painted textile known as kalamkari is grown in Andhra Pradesh, India. This distinctive Indian block print fabric is available in two variants, Machilipatnam and Srikalahasti, and is created using twenty-three different methods. Kalamkari was once known as Pattachitra, an art form that is still practised in several parts of India and Nepal, as well as in the neighbouring state of Odisha. "Pattachitra" is made up of the terms "patta," which means "cloth," and "chitra," which means "image."
Kutch
To print an identical pattern on fabric, Kutch black-printed cloth usually involves using many printing techniques, including the well-known Ajrakh and Batik hand block prints. Developed about 400 years ago in Kutch, this special technique for block printing has gained a loyal following.

Top of Form
In the town of Bagru, India, the art of block printing with natural colour has been passed down through generations. Block print textiles have not only flourished but thrived in India and are popular around the world.
Organic Hand Block Print method is a method to print your own designs. Block Printing allows you to customize commercially available fabric. Block Printing allows you to create a consistant design multiple times. The most important centres for block printing in India are Sanganer, Jaipur, Bagru and Barmer in Rajasthan, Bagh in Madhya Pradesh, Anjar, Deesa, Ahemdabad, Jetpur, Rajkot, Porbandar and Bhavnagar in Gujarat, and Pilakuan and Farukhabad in Uttar Pradesh. Beautiful Organic Handblock Sarees
Sanganeri Print
Beautiful Organic Handblock Sarees was the Chippa Community of the Bagru District in Rajasthan that brought to light the block printing techniques on fabric. The technique of hand block printing has introduced several printing forms such as Sanganeri Block Print, Bagru Block Print, Ajrakh Block Print, Kalamkari Block Print, and Dabru Block Print. Very This makes it an eco-friendly choice as it reduces carbon emissions.
Method
All my life, I have been exposed to and obsessed by block prints. I remember being in awe of the elaborate themes in the textile gallery of Jaipur City Palace, as well as strolling through busy bazaars filled with stores selling them.
What amazes me, though, is how artisan families with diverse skill sets work together to make the process possible. The way that block makers, rangrez dyers, chippa printers, and dhobis (launderers) collaborate to produce a single piece of hand-block printed textile is just remarkable. I was so thrilled to have the chance to travel to Bagru, a town outside of Jaipur. Bagru was formerly an island in the Sanjharia River and dates back more than 400 years. The town gained notoriety for its organic block (Bagru).

Organic Handblock Saree
We traveled via tiny, pedestrian-only streets in Chippa ka Mahaulla, Rajasthan, to get to the Dheeraj Chippa printing unit. From there, we turned onto an even smaller gali—an incredibly narrow road—bordered by dye-stained open drains. The typically busy road was unexpectedly empty, and I could still hear his house, which also serves as his printing press, with its incessant "thak-thak." Dheeraj Chippa, the proprietor of his own company and an eighth generation block printer, took me through the labor-intensive process of natural dye printing, explaining its sustainability, the difficulties of commercialization, his experimentation with the art, and his response to the current pandemic crisis. Dheeraj Chippa, a graduate of design and craft school, founded his business in 2016 following the triumphant resuscitation of the traditional phadat print, a distinctive fusion of block and resist printing techniques that had all but vanished from Bagru and his family's studio. Because phadat print is so rare and demands such skill, he was able to persuade some of the top Indian designers and fashion houses to include it in their luxury collections after successfully replicating the ancient procedure. Naturally dyed and printed block print cloth has become a luxury due to a lack of material resources, the scarcity of high caliber karigars (workers usually connected with the handicraft industry), and rising material and labor costs. The market for unadulterated block prints has evolved today. The prints were initially made available to individuals 400 years ago.
His company is currently struggling, much like the majority of India's artisan communities. Many orders have been canceled and others have been placed on indefinite hold as the Indian government announced the first phase of lockdown intended to stop the COVID virus from spreading. The main markets are closed and the supply chain is broken. The financial shock that the epidemic has caused many artisan families in Bagru to experience is too great for them to handle, and they are in a desperate situation with no help from anywhere.
Before the global pandemic struck, Bagru's printing methods were being tested from a variety of angles. A craft that in the 1990s had not only survived, but thrived, is currently facing difficulties. Due to their water-intensive nature The traditional printing method is likewise becoming more commercialized with the arrival of large factories. For them, the lengthy and arduous process of printing with natural colors is the exact opposite of productivity because it raises the cost and decreases the profitability of the printed fabrics. Pigment dyeing, which is cheap, quick, and requires less water, is seeing a resurgence in Bagru in order to lower prices and satisfy the market's widespread need for vibrant colors.
Dheeraj, like the majority of Bagru's artisans, had set out to create exclusively naturally dyed and printed yardages on textiles made entirely of silk and cotton. He eventually, though reluctantly, had to accept pigment printing since it was essential to the survival of his entire means of subsistence. However, pigment dyes cause their own problems.
Bagru Print
Method
The preparation of the cloth is the first step in the Bagru block printing process, which continues using local techniques to produce the final printed fabrics. Two distinct techniques, direct and resist, are used to transfer designs with unique qualities onto a light-colored background using wooden blocks.
Where To Purchase
Ajrakh Print
Method
The easternmost regions of Sindh, Kutch, Rajasthan, and Gujarat, were the locations where Ajrak was produced following the division of India. There is some similarity between the names and Patterns and those found in Sindh. Since the Sindhi culture still has a significant effect in Gujarat and some parts of Rajasthan, there are no signs that new traditions are evolving in terms of the patterns that are used. An ancient Indian textile tradition is block printing. Block printed cloth from as early as 2000 BC has been discovered. This cultural custom is still practiced in villages today. We are committed to maintaining block printing as a craft that offers local families a stable means of subsistence.
Beautiful Organic Handblock Sarees
At Real Handicrafts Ajrakhpur, Kutch, Gujarat, India, every piece of fabric is hand-dyed, block-printed, and completed by local artisans utilizing methods and skills that have been passed down through the years. We are a top producer of hand-block printed sarees, dupattas, stoles, bed linens, unstitched suit sets, dress materials, and dress materials in natural and vegetable dyes. The art of hand-block printing supports entire villages.
Kalamkari Print
Dabu Print
After the cloth is received from the mills, it is first cleaned to remove any surface imperfections. After that, the blocks are carefully hand printed on simple cotton after being dipped in natural dyes. Making the mud resist combination with gum, lime, and white chaff is the next stage. It is called dabu printing method.

An Outfit A Day: 7 Casual Styles for Every Day of the Week
We know that it’s tough to be working all day and still be on top of your style game. Every day is a new test for your patience and energy so it surely gets difficult to keep track of fashion trends. While you may sometimes feel like getting a complete makeover we advise you not to. What you need is to jazz up your look and leave your closet alone! Here we give you 7 hip and happening styles that you can smartly carry off every day of the week:
Bright Mondays
Start of the week requires some cheering up to be getting out of bed and to work so we implore you to do it with some radiant colors like this cyan blue pant suit that is every bit of brightness that you need to be ready for work.
Loud and Bold Tuesday
Tuesday carries the work mode of Monday so why not do it with some bold and flashy prints like this short kurta with leggings. Vivid prints are not only great for your appearance but also give a vibe of energy when you look at them so try out some edgy all over prints and ditch that boring dupatta for a day!
Classic Wednesday Blue
No this is not a reference to a dull mind but to a sweet denim dedication for those long Wednesdays. Denim has never been out of fashion and there’s absolutely no way that you could go wrong with this fabric that undoubtedly is a godsend! An all denim look is a forever classic Indian Paridhan that you can pull off anywhere. Go for a denim shirt with flared jeans or a shirt dress like the one shown above. A pair of edgy wedges or peep toes are all that you need to finish off this look.
Toned-Down Thursdays
A cheery printed dress is your outlet to let off that steam on boring Thursdays like this white cotton shirt dress in peppy all over handblock prints. This number is sure to cool you off with its breezy air. A pair of mellow pumps are your mandatory add-on for this one to be a classic head turner!
Prepping Up Fridays
Weekend is approaching and we know that feeling of happiness that you must be reeling in. So let’s make it a little playful this Friday with a printed palazzo and girly frock style contrast kurta in a shade as bright as this beautiful blue! Pair with some quirky earrings and off you go!
Wild Party Saturdays
Yes, the week’s hard work has finally paid off and you are free to go crazy because it’s Saturday! Let that wild chick out of you and celebrate in a comfy printed cotton dress that is every bit as bright and cheerful as you are! Add in some hoop earrings and sandals with a purse or clutch for a perfect look.
Relaxed Colorful Sundays
Sunday is all about putting up your leg on the sofa and reading a book with a nice mug of coffee. What better way to do it than in colorful shirt dresses and comfortable stretchy bottoms? You can also move about in this light breezy outfit around the city without a care in the world! Accessorize with bright colored ballet flats and some frisky glasses.
