Explore Ajrakh Hand Block Printed Modal Silk Sarees, Dupattas, and Bandhani with Prices in India
When it comes to traditional Indian attire, the Ajrakh hand block printed modal silk saree is a standout. This timeless piece combines rich craftsmanship with luxurious fabric to create a stunning garment. Whether you’re preparing for a wedding, festival, or special occasion, the elegance of a modal silk saree is unmatched. In this article, we will explore the beauty of the Ajrakh hand block printed modal silk saree, its price in India, and the variety of matching dupattas, including the Ajrakh modal silk dupatta and modal silk bandhani dupatta.
What is an Ajrakh Hand Block Printed Modal Silk Saree?
An Ajrakh hand block printed modal silk saree represents the perfect fusion of two key elements of Indian textile heritage: hand-block printing and modal silk. The Ajrakh hand block printing technique is one of the oldest and most intricate methods, originating from Gujarat and Rajasthan. The prints typically include geometric patterns and floral designs, often in rich colors like indigo, red, and black.
Modal silk, on the other hand, is a luxurious fabric derived from beech trees. It’s known for its softness, sheen, and comfort. When combined, the Ajrakh hand block printed modal silk saree offers a unique blend of aesthetic beauty and practicality. This saree drapes beautifully and feels incredibly light on the skin, making it an ideal choice for all-day wear.
The Beauty of Ajrakh Modal Silk Saree Price in India
One of the key factors that people often consider before purchasing a Ajrakh modal silk saree is the price. The Ajrakh modal silk saree price in India can vary depending on several factors. These include the intricacy of the hand block prints, the quality of the modal silk fabric, and the craftsmanship involved in creating each piece.
Typically, Ajrakh modal silk sarees range in price from affordable to premium. You can find budget-friendly options for those on a tight budget, as well as high-end sarees for those looking for something exclusive and luxurious. The price of a saree might also depend on where you buy it. Local markets often offer competitive prices, while designer stores or online boutiques might charge a premium for branded versions.
When shopping for an Ajrakh modal silk saree, it is essential to consider the value for money. The durability of the fabric and the timeless appeal of the hand-block prints make it a worthwhile investment. Many people consider it a treasure that can be worn across generations.
Modal Silk Dupattas: A Perfect Complement
If you’re already in love with the Ajrakh hand block printed modal silk saree, the next thing you should consider is a modal silk dupatta. A modal silk dupatta enhances the overall look, bringing balance and grace to your ensemble. The soft and delicate feel of the modal silk fabric works wonderfully for dupattas, adding an air of sophistication.
A modal silk dupatta can be paired with various types of outfits, from sarees to lehengas and even simple kurta sets. They are designed to be versatile and can complement any traditional or festive attire. The smooth texture and lightness of modal silk make it perfect for draping over your shoulders or wrapping around your head.
Ajrakh Modal Silk Dupatta: The Classic Choice
For those who prefer traditional motifs, an Ajrakh modal silk dupatta is an excellent choice. The Ajrakh modal silk dupatta features the same beautiful hand-block prints that adorn the sarees. This consistency in design creates a harmonious and cohesive look when paired with an Ajrakh hand block printed modal silk saree.
The Ajrakh modal silk dupatta is available in a range of colors and patterns, giving you ample options to experiment with your look. Whether you opt for vibrant hues or subtle tones, the Ajrakh modal silk dupatta is sure to add depth and richness to your outfit. The fine silk fabric ensures that the dupatta drapes gracefully, elevating your entire appearance.
The Charm of Modal Silk Bandhani Dupatta
If you’re looking for something with a bit more tradition and vibrance, consider the modal silk bandhani dupatta. Bandhani is a traditional tie-dye technique that originated in Rajasthan and Gujarat. The intricate dots and patterns are hand-dyed onto the fabric, creating a unique and eye-catching look.
A modal silk bandhani dupatta offers the benefits of both the bandhani design and the luxurious feel of modal silk. The result is a dupatta that not only carries the rich history of Indian textiles but also provides the comfort and elegance of modern fabric. The rich textures and vibrant colors of the modal silk bandhani dupatta make it a must-have accessory in any wardrobe.
Why Choose Ajrakh Hand Block Printed Modal Silk Sarees?
Choosing an Ajrakh hand block printed modal silk saree is more than just about style; it’s about supporting traditional craftsmanship and investing in timeless pieces. The hand block printing technique is labor-intensive and requires skilled artisans, making each saree unique. This attention to detail results in a piece of clothing that tells a story through its intricate patterns and bold colors.
Moreover, modal silk fabric adds a layer of luxury to the saree. Unlike other types of silk, modal silk is breathable, soft, and more affordable. It’s perfect for those who want the elegance of silk without the heavy weight or high maintenance. The Ajrakh hand block printed modal silk saree offers a beautiful balance of tradition and modernity.
How to Style Your Ajrakh Modal Silk Saree
When styling an Ajrakh hand block printed modal silk saree, simplicity is key. The saree itself is often a work of art, so it’s important not to overshadow its beauty with overly flashy accessories. Opt for minimal jewelry, such as delicate earrings or a simple necklace. A small clutch or a traditional potli bag can also complement the look.
Pairing your Ajrakh hand block printed modal silk saree with an Ajrakh modal silk dupatta or modal silk bandhani dupatta will enhance your look. You can experiment with different draping styles to make your ensemble more personalized and chic. Remember that comfort is just as important as style, so make sure you feel at ease in your outfit.
The Allure of Traditional Craftsmanship
The Ajrakh hand block printed modal silk saree is not just a piece of clothing; it’s a testament to India’s rich textile heritage. Hand block printing is a centuries-old craft that has been passed down through generations. The artisans use wooden blocks to imprint designs onto the fabric, which is then dyed using natural or synthetic dyes. The precision and skill involved in this process are remarkable.
Additionally, the fabric itself, modal silk, is eco-friendly, biodegradable, and soft to the touch. Choosing an Ajrakh modal silk dupatta or modal silk bandhani dupatta made from this fabric ensures that you’re wearing something that is both sustainable and luxurious. By supporting this traditional craft, you help sustain the livelihoods of skilled artisans and promote sustainable fashion.
Conclusion
An Ajrakh hand block printed modal silk saree, whether paired with an Ajrakh modal silk dupatta or modal silk bandhani dupatta, offers the perfect combination of tradition, comfort, and style. The beauty of hand block printing, combined with the luxury of modal silk, results in a garment that is both sophisticated and versatile. The Ajrakh modal silk saree price in India makes it accessible to a wide range of buyers, while the range of dupattas available ensures that you can create a look that suits your individual style.
Whether you are attending a wedding, a festival, or a special event, the Ajrakh hand block printed modal silk saree and its accompanying dupattas are sure to make you stand out in any crowd. The craftsmanship, quality, and elegance of these textiles make them timeless additions to any wardrobe.

In the town of Bagru, India, the art of block printing with natural colour has been passed down through generations. Block print textiles have not only flourished but thrived in India and are popular around the world.
Organic Hand Block Print method is a method to print your own designs. Block Printing allows you to customize commercially available fabric. Block Printing allows you to create a consistant design multiple times. The most important centres for block printing in India are Sanganer, Jaipur, Bagru and Barmer in Rajasthan, Bagh in Madhya Pradesh, Anjar, Deesa, Ahemdabad, Jetpur, Rajkot, Porbandar and Bhavnagar in Gujarat, and Pilakuan and Farukhabad in Uttar Pradesh. Block Printing in India in other forms is widely known as “Woodblock Printing”, “Woodcut Printing” or “Hand block Printing”. The block printing art is done by following a beautiful process where the required designs are carved on the blocks and natural dyes are used for printing on fabrics.
Chinese Historians acknowledge that the Chinese invented xylographie (woodblock) printing between 712 and 756 during the great age of T'ang culture.
Beautiful Organic Handblock Sarees
Sanganeri Print
Beautiful Organic Handblock Sarees was the Chippa Community of the Bagru District in Rajasthan that brought to light the block printing techniques on fabric. The technique of hand block printing has introduced several printing forms such as Sanganeri Block Print, Bagru Block Print, Ajrakh Block Print, Kalamkari Block Print, and Dabru Block Print. Very This makes it an eco-friendly choice as it reduces carbon emissions.
Method
All my life, I have been exposed to and obsessed by block prints. I remember being in awe of the elaborate themes in the textile gallery of Jaipur City Palace, as well as strolling through busy bazaars filled with stores selling them.
What amazes me, though, is how artisan families with diverse skill sets work together to make the process possible. The way that block makers, rangrez dyers, chippa printers, and dhobis (launderers) collaborate to produce a single piece of hand-block printed textile is just remarkable. I was so thrilled to have the chance to travel to Bagru, a town outside of Jaipur. Bagru was formerly an island in the Sanjharia River and dates back more than 400 years. The town gained notoriety for its organic block (Bagru).

Organic Handblock Saree
We traveled via tiny, pedestrian-only streets in Chippa ka Mahaulla, Rajasthan, to get to the Dheeraj Chippa printing unit. From there, we turned onto an even smaller gali—an incredibly narrow road—bordered by dye-stained open drains. The typically busy road was unexpectedly empty, and I could still hear his house, which also serves as his printing press, with its incessant "thak-thak." Dheeraj Chippa, the proprietor of his own company and an eighth generation block printer, took me through the labor-intensive process of natural dye printing, explaining its sustainability, the difficulties of commercialization, his experimentation with the art, and his response to the current pandemic crisis. Dheeraj Chippa, a graduate of design and craft school, founded his business in 2016 following the triumphant resuscitation of the traditional phadat print, a distinctive fusion of block and resist printing techniques that had all but vanished from Bagru and his family's studio. Because phadat print is so rare and demands such skill, he was able to persuade some of the top Indian designers and fashion houses to include it in their luxury collections after successfully replicating the ancient procedure. Naturally dyed and printed block print cloth has become a luxury due to a lack of material resources, the scarcity of high caliber karigars (workers usually connected with the handicraft industry), and rising material and labor costs. The market for unadulterated block prints has evolved today. The prints were initially made available to individuals 400 years ago.
His company is currently struggling, much like the majority of India's artisan communities. Many orders have been canceled and others have been placed on indefinite hold as the Indian government announced the first phase of lockdown intended to stop the COVID virus from spreading. The main markets are closed and the supply chain is broken. The financial shock that the epidemic has caused many artisan families in Bagru to experience is too great for them to handle, and they are in a desperate situation with no help from anywhere.
Before the global pandemic struck, Bagru's printing methods were being tested from a variety of angles. A craft that in the 1990s had not only survived, but thrived, is currently facing difficulties. Due to their water-intensive nature The traditional printing method is likewise becoming more commercialized with the arrival of large factories. For them, the lengthy and arduous process of printing with natural colors is the exact opposite of productivity because it raises the cost and decreases the profitability of the printed fabrics. Pigment dyeing, which is cheap, quick, and requires less water, is seeing a resurgence in Bagru in order to lower prices and satisfy the market's widespread need for vibrant colors.
Dheeraj, like the majority of Bagru's artisans, had set out to create exclusively naturally dyed and printed yardages on textiles made entirely of silk and cotton. He eventually, though reluctantly, had to accept pigment printing since it was essential to the survival of his entire means of subsistence. However, pigment dyes cause their own problems.
Bagru Print
Method
The preparation of the cloth is the first step in the Bagru block printing process, which continues using local techniques to produce the final printed fabrics. Two distinct techniques, direct and resist, are used to transfer designs with unique qualities onto a light-colored background using wooden blocks.
Where To Purchase
Ajrakh Print
Method
The easternmost regions of Sindh, Kutch, Rajasthan, and Gujarat, were the locations where Ajrak was produced following the division of India. There is some similarity between the names and Patterns and those found in Sindh. Since the Sindhi culture still has a significant effect in Gujarat and some parts of Rajasthan, there are no signs that new traditions are evolving in terms of the patterns that are used. An ancient Indian textile tradition is block printing. Block printed cloth from as early as 2000 BC has been discovered. This cultural custom is still practiced in villages today. We are committed to maintaining block printing as a craft that offers local families a stable means of subsistence.
Beautiful Organic Handblock Sarees
At Real Handicrafts Ajrakhpur, Kutch, Gujarat, India, every piece of fabric is hand-dyed, block-printed, and completed by local artisans utilizing methods and skills that have been passed down through the years. We are a top producer of hand-block printed sarees, dupattas, stoles, bed linens, unstitched suit sets, dress materials, and dress materials in natural and vegetable dyes. The art of hand-block printing supports entire villages.
Kalamkari Print
Dabu Print
After the cloth is received from the mills, it is first cleaned to remove any surface imperfections. After that, the blocks are carefully hand printed on simple cotton after being dipped in natural dyes. Making the mud resist combination with gum, lime, and white chaff is the next stage. It is called dabu printing method.

Exquisite Hand Block Printed Cotton Sarees for a Traditional Look
Indeed, online shopping has become a popular trend in the e-commerce sector, transforming the way people shop for goods and services. The convenience and accessibility of online shopping have made it easier for everyone to fulfill their desires for traditional Indian clothes and accessories, such as hand-printed cotton sarees.
One of the advantages of online shopping for anyone is the ability to explore a wide selection of traditional and modern Indian clothes and accessories without having to physically visit a store. Platforms like Moora offer a diverse range of options, including designer sarees, pure silk sarees, block sarees, and block printed sarees, indigo cotton sarees, and more. This allows customers to access a plethora of choices that may not be available locally, providing them with the opportunity to explore and purchase unique and authentic Indian clothing.
Online shopping also provides the convenience of shopping from the comfort of one's living room, eliminating the need to travel to physical stores. This is especially beneficial for Indians residing abroad who may not have easy access to local stores that offer Indian clothing. With just a laptop and an internet connection, anyone can easily browse through various online stores, compare prices, read reviews, and make purchases at their convenience, saving time and effort.
Fabric Type
That's a great point! The accessories chosen to accompany a silk saree can play a significant role in enhancing its beauty and completing the overall look. As you mentioned, heavy and traditional silk sarees like the indigo chanderi silk saree can be paired with classic Indian accessories like heavy gold necklaces and earrings sets to create a regal and elegant look.
When it comes to Banarsi and Tussar silk sarees, these varieties have unique textures and designs that require a more nuanced approach to accessorizing. Consulting one's grandmother or an experienced elder can be helpful in selecting the right accessories that complement the saree's intricacies and add to its beauty.
For more light and airy cotton silk sarees, one can experiment with more trendy ethnic accessories like wooden jewelry, colorful beads necklaces, and tribal-looking terracotta sets. These accessories can add a contemporary twist to the traditional attire, making it more versatile and suitable for casual occasions.
It's important to keep in mind that the accessories chosen should not overpower the saree's beauty but instead complement it. The accessories should be chosen keeping in mind the saree's color, pattern, and fabric, as well as the occasion for which it will be worn. By selecting the right accessories, one can create a unique and stunning look that reflects their personality and style.
Work/Designs
You're absolutely right! The work and designs on silk sarees are an important aspect to consider when choosing jewelry to pair with them. It's essential to ensure that the hues, tones, and materials of the jewelry complement the metallic work, designs, embroideries, and embellishments on the saree to create a harmonious and cohesive look.
For sarees with gold zari woven or gold work, it's best to pair them with gold jewelry. Gold jewelry, such as necklaces, earrings, and bangles, can complement the gold tones in the saree, enhancing its richness and elegance. Similarly, sarees with silver embroideries or silver work should be paired with silver or platinum jewelry to create a cohesive and balanced look.
When it comes to luxurious varieties of silk sarees with crystal or Kundan work, it's ideal to pair them with Kundan or stone-studded jewelry. Kundan or stone-studded jewelry can add to the opulence of the saree and create a regal and sophisticated look.
