Been rereading Hoshi no Samidare/Lucifer and the Biscuit Hammer and just reached this goddamn chapter. I forgot how great this series was and how much it touched me when I first picked it up.

Just seeing the old crew back was great but experiencing the relationship between Sorano Hanako and Kusakabe Tarou again gave me back emotions I had when I first read it. Kusakabe really was a true hero and Hanako's arc really is something special. Bless these two.

The Lucifer and Biscuit Hammer Anime Reveals New Visual and a Bunch of Cast Members

  Some big updates arrived for the anime adaptation of The Lucifer and Biscuit Hammer manga during a special rebroadcast of Planet With. The series is set to premiere on TV in Japan this July, and a bunch of new cast members have been revealed along with a brand new key visual.

  Based on the manga by Satoshi Mizukami, The Lucifer and Biscuit Hammer is being directed by Nobuaki Nakanishi (Mangirl!), alongside Yuichiro Momose (So I'm a Spider, So What?) and Mizukami himself on series composition. The studio tasked with animating the long-awaited adaptation, which is scheduled to begin airing in Summer 2022, is yet to be revealed.

  Seven Seas Entertainment, who publishes the manga's official English version, describes the series as:

  Everything about college student Amamiya Yuuhi is average: grades, looks and his blasé outlook on life. So what happens when he awakens one day to a talking lizard, who informs him that there is a gigantic hammer in outer space, poised to split the Earth into pieces, and requests his allegiance in the fight against the forces of evil? Pretend it never happened! Unfortunately for Yuuhi, a little bit of coercion in the form of a super-powered princess prevents him from returning to his mediocre life-as-usual.

  In the adventure of his lifetime, Yuuhi will join forces with the unpredictable princess and seek out a motley crew of companions to fight back against an evil mage and his horrifyingly powerful homunculus before the Biscuit Hammer destroys the planet!

Jun gave Chris a nod after his long-winded presentation. Like Kei and Sorano, he, too, was impressed. “Thanks for the rundown. We can’t say for sure what their plans were regarding Hirohito and Touma, as there are multiple explanations, as shown by Willow, but whatever the case, what the Empire did there was criminal as usual.” 

He glanced over to Sorano, and nodded to them as well. The two of them weren’t on the greatest of terms, but he was happy to work with them just this once. “Like Chris, I also tried withdrawing from DARE in the diary room. Before I did, I made it a point to tell the audience what I was about to do. I don’t have proof I can show you all here like Chris does, but hopefully the audience got to see what happened at the time.” 

Then, he turned to Rafe, and shook his head. “Who said anything about us refusing to vote? We’ll get to that when the time comes. It’s just that, for now, there are more important things to discuss. Especially if the results of our vote are going to be rigged anyway. We might as well make use of the time we have, then, rather than rush into a predetermined end, I would think.” He leaned back in his seat. “To just ignore all of the evidence that the Empire so generously left behind through the course of this game, and head straight to the vote would be the route that leaves our fates to chance. Anyway, you’re outnumbered on this one. We’re going to continue with this. I suggest you instead help us out here so we have more time to ‘platform’ afterwards, if you’re so worried about time.”

“So, yeah. Tomomi Empire bad. And the evidence supporting that is brought to you by none other than… the Tomomi Empire. Thanks, guys.” The young man waved over to one of the room’s cameras. “And then Hanako and Yotaro decided to keep themselves out of their respective chapters? Doesn’t seem like the board members trust each other very much.” Stoking the flames of infighting…

Been rereading Hoshi no Samidare/Lucifer and the Biscuit Hammer and I've just reached chapter 41 and wow, I forgot how good this arc was.

It's been great seeing the whole crew back again but the relationship between Kusakabe Tarou and Sorano Hanako has been essentially great to revisit. Tarou was such a hero and Hanako's actions or even inaction during those chapters brought up emotions I forgot I had for this series. Just wow.

Chris listens with his head tilted to the side at Akira’s answer in thought. There still had to be something they were missing there, some rule that hadn’t been made clear to them or BS that would be pulled, but it was a start at least.

“Thanks for the answers, though it leads me to have some more questions too. First, will it be ONLY the six of us who are voting on this, or will the audience have some say as well?” Given uh, the gimmick of this season and all, that seemed pretty important to know if they’d have to deal with it or not.

“And next, what were the grand prizes of those who died, then? What was Yuuma’s grand prize in particular, too? Seems pretty important to know, since it probably SHOULD be going into effect but they’re actively trying to keep it from happening with Ayumi’s situation, or at least that’s how it’s being made out to be. Feels like something we should be told.”

And then, Chris gives a nod of agreement to essentially every other player but Rafe, and for reasons more than him just being Rafe. In particular, he looks at Sorano and surprisingly(?) Willow in agreement most recently for the details they’re bringing up. Good, seemed like the rest of them at least were on the same page here. 

“Exactly. Finding the ‘mastermind’ among us isn't the issue here, and is frankly a waste of time given everything we know, so I recommend not bothering with it for now. I think the audience would be much more interested in us going over everything else behind the scenes with the board instead,” he clarifies, because yeah, he’s only going to double down on that opening recommendation.

“To finish off what knowledge I had from around the maps before this investigation though, the names of all five board members were among all of the names listed on the tiles of the Theme Park in chapter 3, and in chapter 4 there was a large tapestry depiction in the Museum about a king and his crown being divided among five people that then kept the power for themself, obviously alluding to the TE board members hanging onto their power and pushing their own agendas despite Tomo being an adult now.”

He takes out his personal notebook almost lazily before continuing, idly flipping through to cross reference between a few things.

  "The names and occupations given in Chapter 5's Dressing Room puzzle were at times suspiciously similar to the Board member's themselves, so I'm pretty sure that was something too. In particular, Nobuo Ozaki is the COO of Kimi Health and Housing, which is actually a Yakuza front, where as 'Nagito' was a Yakuza Boss in the puzzle. Sadao Hashimoto is in control of the TE legal team and is obviously corrupt as fuck and lets them get away with all kinds of shit, while 'Sadou' is a Corrupt Lawyer in the puzzle.  

Yataro I would assume would be the Affair Partner 'Hatoru'. I don't want to make assumptions, but apparently he's close with Tomo's mom Yumi Tomomi given it seems as though she trusts him enough to let her into Tomo's home, and he's had public suspicions on his relationship with Tatsuo Tomomi himself too. Whatever the case and romantic or not, he’s playing people.
