🐣 Did you know? that, by tradition, not visiting families (and thus not participating in mrskut) on Easter Monday can be considered a great offence to the family?
And if you come late, even a minute late after noon, expect a very cold shower from a vengeful lass. 🐣
Happy Easter (Monday)!!!

Happy 130th birthday to J. R. R. Tolkien! 🎂🎉 Can you imagine what would happen if he ever visited Moravia the Shire? I can!
Moravian traditional clothing from left to right: Hanakian (from Kroměříž), Wallachian (likely from Rožnov pod Radhošťem), and Moravian Slovakian (from Vlčnov)... the hobbitling doesn't care, he has a koláček to take care of. Refs found on Google.
(This thing has a birthday banner, but I can't do banners, so I hid it under the cut...)
Anyway, všecko nélepší! 🥳
Note: there was an edit!

Sam and Rosie's wedding day for @diversetolkien's Diverse Tolkien week's Day 4: Religion/Faith/Culture. Tolkien needs Slavs - that's what I'm here for. Inspired by Hanakian traditional clothing.
Enjoy! ❤️

Guys, mainly those of you who celebrate, I hope you had a peaceful Easter. To end this holiday, have a pair of hobbits indulging in a tradition we, West Slavs - mainly us and also our dearest siblings, Slovaks (@sarcasticbookoholic, do you, though?), do every Easter Monday. We call it 'mrskut' or 'šmigust' or... there're a lot of other names, and it's one of the few pagan traditions, though altered, we still indulge in today. Attire inspired by Hanakian traditional clothing.
Enjoy! 🐣
[image description: a photograph of a pencil drawing of a Hobbit lass and lad running and laughing. They are dressed in Hanakian traditional clothing and indulging in a West-Slavic Easter Monday tradition called 'mrskut' in Moravian Czech. The tradition involves the lass being gently whipped by the lad with the 'pomlázka' or 'tatar' he's holding - a long rod-like utensil made of willow twigs, which were braided together, decorated with ribbons at its very tip.]
(edit: I edited the description, so it makes a bit more sense... 😊)
