like, check it out, the ONLY observations of ant woodlice in CT is this one by someone who observed it in Hammonasset Beach State Park in 2016.

And this user observed one Hartford in 2020. (Though on the map it shows the observation range being within an environmental sciences magnet school so... dunno if it was actually out in the wild or some kind of research specimen)

This species apparently likes to live near ant nests and feeds on mildew. I want to find one of these! I see they have also been observed in NY, so where I'll be, in the southern CT area, I have to wonder if visiting parks on the shoreline might be the place to find them.

As an Atheist (and I’m not even sure that’s appropriate just close) there’s no set standard for burial, mourning or even a preference. It certainly wasn’t anything David and I discussed in any seriousness. I’m sure at his age he didn’t expect to need to. He new I was icked out by cremation and he wasn’t ever ecstatic about it himself after me explaining the modern processes to him. I’d personally prefer to be in a crypt, with a door, and a giant black Angel with it’s spear crossing the entrance. I’m sure he’s mentioned Viking Funeral several times in jest (or not)! However, greed and society have made it almost impossible to have an interesting burial much less elaborate statuary. Though I realize we become soulless vessels, I’d still like the opportunity to come back and haunt those I don’t like! Lol Anyway, my point being, is ashes is where we will all probably end up. As land becomes more expensive we all get shoved into smaller spaces. My mom, even though she had a plot, left instructions to be cremated and interred. Sometimes I think how sad no one sees that beautiful piece of pottery I got her from Dirtworks in Seagrove. Beautiful like her, intricate like her personality and just radiant. Here we are again. I wanted David to have something he would have found attractive if he had to look at it. Earthy, rustic, natural…a bit of flash in the bright copper… a little like him. He was always a bright flash in a mundane world. Luckily, thanks to my neighbor and superb potter, Betsy Shanahan Himmelman, at Promethea Arts, I was able to procure such an item. Her talented process includes using foliage from her yard and quite possibly our connecting woods! The driftwood from the numerous beaches we’ve walked here, namely Hammonasset. It seemed to fit. And to have someone local from the town he loved living in. Both of us had finally found a place where we were happy living (despite the “it’s cold” grumbles here and there) I’m very grateful for her art. It’s not within me to toss him into the wind.
