I left years ago due to my interest dying down but I’ve tried coming back a few times, only to find the fandom has turned into a dumpster fire of kids who’ve never been in a fandom before and thus don’t know fandom or internet etiquette, and I fear shipcourse being such a big thing now than it was then has made it even worse

Back then it was normal to ship jamilton, I’m pretty sure it was one of the most popular ships even, along with whamilton and whatever the ship name for Washington x Lafayette is

The last two ships have always made me uncomfortable but I never have taken it out on anyone like the fandom has been doing recently with jamilton

We had shipwars back in the day (lams vs hamliza being essentially “Alexander Hamilton can only like one person canonically and it’s MY blorbo”), but Jesus Christ. It’s 2024. Leave that shit in the past for the love of God

adult anon, i'm gonna be real with you. most of the adults in this fandom left because of the pettiness and the constant lack of interaction. there's nothing wrong with the younger people, don't get me wrong, but there are some people in the fandom who made it unbearable for anyone over the age of fifteen tbh. weird purity culture, ship wars, and lack of depth is a quick way to ruin a fandom.
