Do you and your team consider to be part of the indie animation community up with Helluva Boss, Lackadaisy, Murder Drones, Satina, etc? It might be because your shows aren't original IPs and instead parodies of other franchises, but you have been doing this for almost a whole decate, made enticing and deep world building, characters, lore, and stories, and sure, you they're not frame by frame hand drawn like the afformentione shows, but still your show's quality are as great as them, personally I think it's unfair you're not aknowledged by them and I wonder why. How do you feel about that and would you like to be aknowledged up there in the indie animation community?

Honestly I’ve not really watched any of those shows and the only thing I really know about them is that they’re very well-animated and popular. But they feel distant from what we do.

I’ve always tended to see our projects to be more ajdacent with like Abridged Serieses and early 2010s Gmod/Source stuff. Doing our most with a limited format and style, and focusing primarily on parodizing IPs we’re enthusiastic about.

And I’m perfectly content with how we’ve been acknowledged on that front!!

I love how genuinely alien the Xenians and other aliens are in half-life, from their biology to their mannerisms to their speech quirks. SpeakerD does a fantastic job of conveying the true alien grasp of social interactions in a way that is both funny and very empathetic.

The species in HL also have some interesting means of making art too, which is what I tried to get at here. I like to think if Mubby wanted to make a self portrait, it would look a little like this.

HOLY SHIT TUMBLR HAS SO MUCH CONTENT FROM MY FAVORITE FANDOM!

First of all, if you haven't watched it, GO WATCH HALF LIFE ZERO VISCOSITY RIGHT NOW! So far it's only two episodes, but they are both great. Generally anything by Alfabusa and the rest of Ogre Poppenang is great, but I'm focusing on this now.

Specifically, Race X Shock Trooper KSS KYUR MUB MUB KA MUB BLIS KA, because I just fucking love how he is written.

I feel like most of the time, people writing aliens just take a standard Vulcan and copy/paste the personality. Not sure how true that is, but chances are the majority of the time, an alien's personality/psychology are similar in some way to the vulcans' "Only logic, no emotions, pure science" shtick.

However, Mub Mub isn't like that. He understands absolutely nothing about Earth and Earth culture (particularly since the Combine is slowly killing both), and instead of being like "Your ways confuse me, human. Why do you act in such an illogical manner," he is excited to learn whatever the hell is happening. He could see someone flip a coin or someone blow a bubble with gum, and it would be the most amazing thing he's ever seen.

He is simply a whimsical creature.
