Dare I say Cocomau is actually kind of funny? (The latest episode, at least) Idk maybe I just miss the characters.

Theory rant below....

Also theory of mine here: Do we think that Cocomau is going to start gaining awareness? Kind of like a combination of how Aphmau did in Mystreet and MCD?

Lemme explain ... MCD started at a let's play as we all know and then she started becoming more and more sucked into the world and the story.

Mystreet started out as a normal slice of life role play, then became more developed and more serious like MCD.

I think Cocomau is going to go through a similar transition (at least character wise) where we'll see more lore and story being developed. Perhaps with recent events (like encountering the Nether, Shadow knights, and the relic) Cocomau starts seeing the world in a different perspective...Her friends in a different perspective. Maybe she starts seeing their lack of... (i can't find the right word. Nuance? Often not having the ability to see the seriousness of some situations??? Their sort of cracked out whimsical nature?)

Anyways, I think maybe she starts seeing herself differently from the rest of the cast. She starts noticing their behaviors more. Like Zane's Shadow knight obsession taking priority over his friends' well being, Laurence's kind of shift in attitude or personality from when she met him in the Nether to when he's in her world. Maybe now that she's taken the relic is the reason she's able to start noticing these things.

I saw someone on here mentioning the possibility of this world being Aaron's coma-induced state trying to regain his memories (someone tag them plz i can't find the post) and I can definitely see that being the case, but the world has always been through Aphmau's eyes, which makes me think that this might be Irene's doing??? Possibly? It might even depend on the episode honestly. Maybe some of them are Aaron's dreams and the others are Irene's? A combination of both? Irene trying to jog his memories through Aphmau?

Ok anyways that was a long half-baked rant, I'm literally thinking through this as I write. But I just thought I'd pitch the idea out there if it hasn't been already. Okay bye

I think when given the opportunity Sanemi makes love to you, and much prefers it that way, compared to fucking you all the time.

He cages you down onto the tatami mat in your room at the estate, forearms to either side of your head, keeping his weight from completely crushing you- for the time being. He takes his time in molding his mouth to yours and swipes his tongue out, seeking entry.

He teases though, catching your bottom lip between his teeth when you part for him. Does it just to hear your soft gasp before sucking on it hard-releasing you with a pop. He runs the tip of his nose along your cheek to your ear, presses a chaste kiss to the shell of it, before moving down to your pulse- laving his tongue against your skin, feeling your bounding heart beat.

He feels your excitement in the air between you; smoothes a hand along your side, rough fingers kneading into you- grounding you to the moment when you whine for him to do something- anything for him to move faster. He shushes you with the thumb of his other hand, urging you to take the digit past your lips, utterly uninterested in being rushed with you. It doesn’t take much convincing- seemingly eager to be occupied with more of him. He swirls the pad along your tongue in lazy circles; slowly you take him farther in, bobbing your head at your own pace.

He smooths his palm the rest of the way to your knee, hooking his hand there and wrapping you around him. He groans low when you raise the other and lock your ankles together, pulling him close to you.

imagine being on 141- maybe you're a total badass or maybe you're just a bit too full of yourself, a bit too cocky- and approaching ghost and soap in the gym, just fucking blurting out "you two wanna take me at the same time?"

soap chokes on his water and ghost just gives you a bemused stare while he pounds on soap's back to get him to breathe again

you meant in a spar, but when you end up between them back in one of their rooms you're definitely not complaining

I’m being so kind when I say: if you’re anti Caitlyn just bc she’s evil (which like, put a pin in it for now) you can’t handle the locked tomb.

Everyone in tlt is morally grey. Nobody is “good” except maybe like, a handful of children. (And even then there’s complexity bc the children are individuals of complicated backgrounds and personalities but I digress)

A core aspect of both stories is how fucked up the political systems are. Nobody born into an empire which sees the “other” as undeserving of existence/self governance can be totally morally “good”. Nobody who has to fight daily for their survival always has the privilege of taking the moral high ground. But that’s exactly what makes each character so interesting: the way they each respond to and interpret the standards they have been raised to believe, the values they have been taught to hold, the perspectives of certain individuals and their value as people.

Liking media or characters with this complexity does not mean anything about you as an individual, from a moral perspective.

We can talk about how Caitlyn never saw true repercussions for her actions and what that says about the themes Arcane ultimately ends up expressing. Or how the very overt political themes got dropped in season 2 (which I have many many thoughts on). But the locked tomb so far is a series that is deeply political and messy.

Do not enter the locked tomb thinking it’s only about snarky lesbians and wholesome relationships. Tlt makes whatever Jayce and Viktor had going on look so normal (look to campal and also the Tridentarii). It is stuffed with characters who have unhealthy codependencies, toxic family dynamics, and shitty empirial ideals, and that’s why I love it.

the first time he puts a handprint on you is an accident, getting a little hot and heavy in your studio, not paying attention when he plants a hand on your desk to steady himself as he thrusts into you. you laugh when he swears, jerking his hand back, but when you look away from him to move the palette he’d just stuck his hand on he grabs your chin to turn your head back to him, smearing his fingerprints over your skin. you walk around the rest of the day with his handprint in a muddy mix of blues and greens and browns around your neck because he just had to see what it looked like and he refuses to let you wash off.

he finds any excuse to be in your studio with you when you’re painting after that ;)

Things are a bit different,, Danny is Simba yes, Vlad is scar yes. Vlad kills Jack (as mufasa) :).. now for the different things,, Danny runs into the woods where he meets Sam and Tucker (replacing Pumba & Timon) and they basically raise each other. Jazz replaces Nala BUT they are siblings and the reason Danny follows her back is because tHATS HIS BIG SISTER!!!

DC only:

Damian is Simba,, Bruce dies :).. idk who scar would be.. the BIGGEST DIFFERENCE instead of a Pumba and Timon, Damian runs into the Batkids (ALL OF THEM, JUST A WHOLE FERAL PACK OF THEM) and stays with them :) no clue who Nala would be, don't care, I only care about the feral pack of kids uwu.

Went back and forth with how to mash them and decided this was the funniest.

Danny is once again Simba with Vlad as scar,, same as the DP only one,,, Pumba and Timon are the pack of Batkids. Nala would be replaced by Sam AND Tucker :),, idk where Bruce is,, or jazz... This was mostly half baked but I needed to get it out

I think something that was underemphasized in my education was the framing of learning as a process that occurs over time.

I mean, to some extent and more so in certain subjects, you are just looking to accumulate some static information in your brain*. but I think most professors would say they are ideally looking to impart a more nebulous sort of skill in "how to think". like, if you are studying mathematics, you need to know the content, and be able to prove theorems, but you also want to be developing a sort of intuition for thinking mathematically.

[*I said this originally in the draft, but in fact even static information seems to be best acquired through spaced repetition!]

they will tell you to practice problems, of course. but it is framed as a way of getting better at doing the problems, not as a generalisable skill. not like in: you have to move the material through your brain repeatedly in different ways to get its value. not like in: you are trying to forge adaptations, not much differently to building muscle. often like: "it might take some time to understand this [because it is hard and you will struggle with it]" (read: if I'm clever enough I could totally pull it off quickly, skill issue), but not like: time is an actual ingredient in this recipe.
