OC Profile: Kairo/Kyron, Tim, Susan
My OC profiles stalled for a bit because I still don't have my laptop that has everyone's lore on it, but I know these three by heart! As usual, they are all part of TCGD- my worldbuilding project!
You may notice that there are only 2 individuals pictured despite three being named. Tim, uh, doesn't have a design yet... despite me making him at least 10 years ago. He is an anthro (that part's for certain!): he has silver fur, a purple wristwatch, and doesn't wear clothes (three more certainties) and I think he is a wolf (still debating that one). They are very relevant to this story, though, so they're getting discussed today. Anyway!

Up top we have Kairo/Kyron (Kairo is on the left, and he is 12: Kyron is the same boy 3 years later at age 15: I will mostly be using Kyron to refer to him throughout this profile), and on the bottom we have Susan!
I'm genuinely not sure that this description is comprehensible but you get it anyway.
Susan is what a 6 year old thinks an evil person is like: she likes to sneer at babies and bully puppies. Despite that, though, she still has a strong set of moral standards: if a little kid was in danger and she was in a position to help them, she would (and then she would downplay it later, going like "oh I'm not NICE I totally saved that bus full of orphans from careening off a cliff for wholly selfish reasons.). Also she really likes brunch and considers this a core part of her personality. This is despite the fact that her species doesn't need to eat.
Tim (he/they) is a sweet, well-intentioned kid, but he has pretty low self esteem and describes himself as "boring". They are relatively solitary and hard to spur into action. He is best friends and brothers with Kyron. Also, he's nonbinary (note: uses nongendered language except for being Kyron's brother).
Kairo was a good-natured but ultimately kind of flat heroic kid. Upon his redevelopment into Kyron, he gained an unwavering commitment to justice and his friends as well as an unhealthy obsession with nostalgia and a bit of an edgy streak. He acts like what you'd imagine a very online, traumatized teen from the early-mid 2010's would act like. He has a fantasy-world tumblr where he reblogs edgy scene stuff. Also, Kyron (but NOT Tim or Susan) is a meta character, both in TCGD and in any other works he may be in (so, he knows that the world of TCGD was created by The Child diegetically, but he also knows I, tumblr user halboy, created The Child). I would describe Kyron's relationship to The Child as "adversarial"! I think me and Kyron's relationship is pretty chill these days tho.
These three were my childhood OCs: Susan was made when I was 6 and is my oldest OC ever, Kairo was made when I was 8 or so, Tim was created around the same time, and Kairo was redeveloped into Kyron around age 12. As these are such old OCs and they are pretty personal to me, their stories in TCGD are fictionalized versions of the changes I made to their characters over the years.
.....
The idea behind their stories in TCGD is that Kyron, Tim, and Susan escaped from the destruction of their previous place of employment, The Hero's Academy: a company dedicated to teaching kids to be world-saving heroes and fight villains trying to take over the world. Susan was a "practice villain", an assigned mentor to Kyron (then age 12), Tim (then age 11), and their class (approximately 10 other kids), helping them learn to fight and help others. The three of them escaped the destruction in a helicopter that Susan stole, and they landed in The Domain. Now the three of them live together in that helicopter :). On a meta level, The Child abandoned this storyline in favor of creating The Domain. (A note: naturally, there were a lot more kids at the Hero's Academy, and they did not end up coming to The Domain because The Child forgot about them. This is plot important).
Tim and Susan have adapted relatively well to life in The Domain, but they're both failing to fully integrate into The Chosen (on account of The Chosen all being canon characters, and Kyron/Tim/Susan being The Child's OCs). Kyron has discovered that the two of them are in danger of being Forgotten entirely by The Child (which would cause them to disappear like the other kids did: that would be very bad). Susan, it seems, would be abandoned in favor of Sludgg, but Kyron does not know which of The Chosen would take Tim's place. This is a serious existential threat to their lives, so Kyron has taken it upon himself to force them to be involved in the world so that they won't be forgotten.
Along with that, Kyron resents his change in living situation and misses his old friends and routine. Kyron also got a redesign during this transition, from his spiky appearance to the less-spiky appearance. Now going from a good-hearted kid to an still good-hearted but very edgy teen who knows that he is fictional and thus understands that he can make seemingly-impossible things happen, he has been in search of the other kids and a way back to the Hero's Academy. Note that he has not told Susan or Tim about this: generally, the few meta characters in TCGD understand that it was distressing to learn that their lives are fictional, so they don't want to subject anyone else to that. Susan and Tim would be concerned if they knew, though: in their perspective, their peers are certainly dead (and as they have been Forgotten, Susan and Tim are barely able to remember them beyond "yeah we worked with them, I miss them". Which is fucked up. That will be addressed.)
....
All TCGD characters deal with a serious theme: Kyron, Tim, and Susan are involved with coming-of-age themes, but also ideas of healing from trauma and managing coping mechanisms, as well as the idea of managing one's responses to nostalgia (how do we determine what was really better when we were younger, and what just seemed better because we were 12)?
