Shin-Ah accidentally protecting you from danger
Tumblr media
The hot spring’s warmth soothes every aching muscle in your tired body, the gentle lap of water against the rocks almost hypnotic. You tilt your head back, letting the steam curl around you like a protective cocoon while you can’t help but let out a sign of relief. When was the last time you’ve had some time for yourself? Away from constant danger, away from the snide remarks of Hak and Jae-Ha who annoy you straight to the core. No, it’s just you and the moon-lit forest around the spring which hums with life - chirping crickets, rustling leaves, and the distant call of a bird.
But then, the forest goes quiet.
The sudden stillness prickles at the back of your neck. You sit upright, scanning the tree line, your heart thumping louder than the now-muted sounds of nature. What on earth was that? Should you…call for the boys?
“SOMEONE HEL-“
Before you can call out, a shadow moves. There’s a blur of movement, and then he’s there.
Shin-Ah steps into the clearing like a ghost, his sword glowing faintly in his grasp. His golden eyes flash across you, scanning the surroundings with deadly precision.
“Shin-Ah?” you call, startled, your voice cracking slightly.
You instinctively sink deeper into the water, heat rushing to your face. There might be something dangerous out there, but…
You’re still completely naked.
His head snaps toward you, his gaze meeting yours. For a moment, his body remains rigid, and you swear his grip on his sword tightens. Then, slowly but surely, recognition dawns. His posture softens just slightly, though his eyes dart around the spring’s edge.
“Danger,” he murmurs, his voice low and clipped.
He’s still scanning the shadows as if expecting something, or someone, to emerge.
“Danger?” you echo, confusion lacing your tone.
“I didn’t…wait, is there something out there?”
Shin-Ah takes a step closer, the faint glow of his dragon power intensifying. You can see his chest rise and fall beneath his cloak as he breathes deeply, his heightened senses working overtime. Then, from the bushes nearby, there’s a rustle and a loud, sudden croak.
Your heart skips a beat, your body instinctively pressing against Shin-Ah’s. You’ve never really been a fighter, only joined because Yona is your best friend. You can’t die out here, butt-naked in a hot spring while taking a bath, right?
A frog leaps into the clearing, landing with an awkward splash near the water’s edge.
For a moment, neither of you move. Then Shin-Ah’s shoulders slump, his sword’s light fades as he lowers the blade. The danger was nothing but a…frog?
You burst into laughter, the tension in your body evaporating while you’re forced to hold onto Shin-Ah’s shoulder for support.
“You thought a frog was dangerous?”
Shin-Ah turns back and glances at you, his mask hiding any expression, but the way he hesitates and fidgets with Ao’s tail betrays his embarrassment. His ears, you notice, are bright red by now.
Still smiling, you tilt your head at him.
“You didn’t have to rush in so dramatically, you know. I was perfectly fine. Even though I have to admit I was glad seeing you when I heard that strange noise.”
But then his eyes flicker down to the water - and widen slightly as realization dawns.
Your body is pressed against his, your skin burning through his wet clothes. But it’s not only the fact that you’re touching him.
You’re…you’re nude.
His entire body stiffens, and he takes a quick step back, his hand gripping Ao a little too tightly while he stumbles back like an idiot.
You follow his gaze and remember too late: you’re naked in the hot spring. And to top it all off, you pressed your naked body against his.
“Shin-Ah!” you shout, sinking deeper into the water, your face burning hotter than the steam surrounding you.
“Don’t look!”
“I…I wasn’t!” he stammers, his voice higher-pitched than usual.
He turns so quickly that he almost trips on the hem of his cloak, spinning on his heel to face away from you. You can see the tips of his ears glowing crimson beneath his hood.
“I… I didn’t notice. I mean - I noticed, but I wasn’t looking-!”
Before you can stop yourself, a giggle escapes your lips. Did you ever feel more embarrassed than right now? Well, no matter how embarrassed you feel, one look at Shin-Ah’s tensed back tells you more than urgently that he feels 10 times worse.
“I hope I didn’t scare you with that body of mine-“
“Scaring me? Your body isn’t scary at all! I mean…I mean…-“
“What’s going on back there? (y/n), are you-…What the hell is going on here!?”, Hak blurts out while stepping into the scene.
“Hak, get lost!”, you shriek, hands desperately trying to cover your sensitive parts.
Hak pauses, taking in the scene with his signature smirk growing wider and wider by each passing second. His gaze bounces between Shin-Ah, who is still stiff and glowing faintly, and you, nearly submerged in the water.
“Well, well,” Hak drawls, crossing his arms with a cocked eyebrow.
“This is a unique look for the two of you. I didn’t realize you were having private lessons in…whatever this is.”
“It’s not like that!” you yell, mortification threatening to drown you more thoroughly than the hot spring itself.
“And don’t look, you idiot!”
“Oh, don’t worry, I’m not looking-” Hak teases, though his eyes deliberately flick to Shin-Ah.
“But it looks like Shin-Ah got an eyeful.”
At that, Shin-Ah’s head snaps up, his wide, horrified gaze fixed firmly on Hak.
“I… I didn’t! I-!” His voice wavers, flustered beyond words, as his golden eyes dart everywhere but toward you.
Hak’s grin only deepens.
“Relax, mask boy. I’m just saying, I didn’t expect you to be the bold type.”
“Hak!” you cry out, but before you can yell at him again, you feel the soft weight of something warm drape over your shoulders.
You glance down and see Shin-Ah’s thick fur cloak now shielding your exposed body, the comforting smell of his presence surrounding you.
Shin-Ah has turned to face Hak fully, standing between you and him like a shield. His tall frame blocks you from Hak’s line of sight entirely, his glowing gaze unwavering as he steps forward.
“Leave,” Shin-Ah says softly, his voice uncharacteristically firm.
“Oh? Feeling protective, are we?” Hak quips, unfazed.
He leans lazily against a nearby tree, clearly enjoying the situation.
“Fine, fine. I’ll go. Just don’t take too long, or I’ll have to assume you’ve been turned into frog food.”
He waves as he retreats, calling over his shoulder,
“You’re welcome for the rescue, by the way!”
The silence that follows is almost as loud as Hak’s teasing had been. You sigh, pulling the fur tighter around yourself as Shin-Ah glances at you hesitantly. His ears are still red, his mask tilting slightly downward.
“Thank you,” you murmur, your voice soft now.
“For the cloak… and for standing up to Hak.”
Shin-Ah nods slowly, his hand resting on Ao’s head for comfort.
“Sorry,” he whispers, his voice almost trembling.
“I didn’t mean… to make you uncomfortable.”
You smile despite yourself.
“It’s okay. You were trying to protect me.”
Shin-Ah stays silent for a moment before finally stepping back toward the shadows.
“I’ll… make sure no one else comes. Enjoy the rest of your bath.”
And with that, he disappears into the treeline, his presence lingering like the warmth of his cloak around your shoulders.

Kija and Hak walking in on you during an argument
Tumblr media
The hot spring’s warmth envelops you like a comforting blanket, its soothing waters easing every ache and strain from days of travel. A sigh escapes your lips as you let yourself relax, sinking further into the water. What a hell of a week this was, the only truly comforting thing that happened was meeting Zeno. But stumbling over that hot springs? Priceless, without any doubt.
It’s been far too long since you’ve had a moment to yourself. Away from Hak’s endless teasing, away from the group’s constant chatter, and away from Kija’s persistence that he protects you from every little thing. No danger, no distractions - just you and the peaceful sound of the water lapping against the rocks.
But the peace is short-lived.
As usual.
A rustling sound breaks the stillness, and you freeze, your gaze darting around without a real aim. You listen closely, heart starting to race. The forest, once alive with the faint hum of crickets, has fallen silent. You sit up in the water, eyes scanning the darkened treeline.
Before you can call out, voices cut through the night.
“Hey, white snake! You think she fell into the spring or something?”
Hak.
Your heart skips a beat.
“Hak, don’t even say that!”, Kija’s voice follows, loud and frantic.
“Why would you assume something so catastrophic?! What if she’s injured - or worse?”
Footsteps crunch against the forest floor, and you feel panic rising as they grow louder. No, no, no. This cannot be happening. They aren’t on their way to you, right?
“Wait! Hak, Kija, don’t-!” you call out, your voice echoing off the rocks, but it’s too late.
The two burst into the clearing like a pair of wayward storms, Kija with his dragon arm glowing faintly in preparation for an attack and Hak looking as relaxed as ever, his glaive resting lazily against his shoulder.
The moment they see you, time seems to stop.
There you are, chest-deep in the water, steam curling around your bare shoulders. Kija’s dragon arm immediately lowers as his jaw drops, his pale skin quickly turning a deep shade of crimson. Hak, on the other hand, raises an eyebrow, the corners of his mouth twitching in amusement.
“What are you two doing here!?” you shriek, sinking deeper into the water and flapping to cover yourself with your arms.
Hak is the first to recover, his trademark smirk spreading across his face as he leans casually on his glaive.
“Well, this is unexpected. Thought we were here to save you from drowning, but it turns out you’re just having a nice soak.”
He pauses, letting his gaze flicker to Kija’s dumbstruck expression before adding,
“This might be even better, honestly.”
“Don’t look!” you yell, your face burning hotter than the spring.
“I’m not looking,” Hak replies, though the playful edge to his tone says otherwise.
“Not really, anyway.”
“Hak!” Kija snaps, finally coming to his senses.
He spins around so fast you almost feel the wind from his motion, his back now firmly to you. His hands tremble as he clenches his fists at his sides.
“This is highly inappropriate! Miss (y/n), I…I deeply apologize for this unspeakable intrusion!”
Hak snorts.
“Unspeakable? Bit dramatic, don’t you think?”
He tilts his head, clearly enjoying himself.
“Relax, white snake. She’s fine. No harm done.”
“Fine?! This is mortifying!” Kija hisses through clenched teeth, refusing to turn around.
His dragon arm flexes, his knuckles white.
“We should never have come here!”
“You don’t say,” you mutter bitterly, your embarrassment mounting by the second.
Hak’s smirk widens.
“Oh, come on. It’s not every day you walk into a scene this memorable. You’ve got to admit, the timing’s kind of perfect. And the view is even better”
“Hak,” you growl, the water splashing as you resist the urge to throw something at him.
“Shut up and leave already!”
“Oh, I’ll leave,” Hak replies, holding up his free hand in mock surrender.
He glances at Kija, who still looks like he might pass out from sheer humiliation.
“But I don’t think Kija’s feet are working anymore. Guess it’s just you and me, (y/n).”
“GET OUT!” you scream, splashing water in Hak’s direction.
He laughs, dodging the spray with infuriating ease.
“Alright, alright. I’m going. No need to get violent.”
He turns, throwing an exaggerated wave over his shoulder.
“Next time, though, maybe leave a note if you’re sneaking off for a midnight soak. Could’ve saved us all some trouble.”
As Hak strolls off, still laughing under his breath, Kija hesitates, his back rigid and unmoving.
“I… I’ll make sure Hak never speaks of this again!” he promises, his voice high-pitched and frantic.
“Miss (y/n), please forgive us for this - this indecent situation!”
Before you can respond, he takes a shaky step forward to follow Hak, literally running away for dear life.
You still fail to catch your breath. As if Kija being here isn’t worse enough, why on earth did it have to be him? You’ve had a crush on Hak for as long as you can remember, still always admiring him from afar. Did he…look at you, maybe even find you attractive?
Out of instinct, you shake your head vehemently. What kind of nonsense is this? As if a guy like Hak would even look your direction.
You take a deep breath, trying to calm your racing heart and chase his stupid perfect face out of your thoughts as you sink back into the warmth of the spring. There’s no use in interpreting too much into this situation. After all, it was probably Kija who worried about you, right?
But your pulse quickens again when you hear that familiar voice you tried so desperately to chase away.
“Don’t worry, it’s just me.”
You barely have time to react before Hak steps back into the clearing, his eyes gleaming in the moonlight, leaning casually against a tree as though nothing’s changed. His easy grin makes the air around you feel heavier.
“Hak,” you snap, trying to control the heat rising in your cheeks.
“What are you doing back here?”
He raises an eyebrow, taking a slow step closer, not at all bothered by the situation.
"Just making sure you’re all right, of course."
“Stop messing around. I told you I’m fine.”
You try to sound convincing, but it comes out strained. It’s hard to focus when his gaze lingers just a little too long. His eyes trace the curve of your shoulders, down your arms, your body beneath the water, and you can feel the weight of his attention like a physical touch.
Hak seems to notice your discomfort and smirks even wider.
“I know. You’re fine. But you’ve been avoiding me all day, so I thought I’d check on you.”
“I’m not avoiding you,” you mutter, your voice wavering despite your best efforts.
“It’s just… uncomfortable when you keep making things weird.”
His smirk doesn’t fade as he steps forward, and you instinctively inch back, but there's nowhere to retreat. He’s just a few feet away now, his body blocking the space between you and the edge of the spring. You feel like dying and flying at the same time.
"Is it weird though?" Hak asks, voice dropping to a husky whisper as he leans in, his presence overwhelming you.
“You never told me to stop… not really.”
You blink, and before you can protest, Hak continues, his tone darker now, almost teasing.
"You don't mind when I get close, do you? Not really."
The air grows thick, the steam around you suddenly feeling even hotter than before. His gaze locks onto yours, intense and unyielding. You’ve never seen him like this before, and the sudden shift in his manner makes your heart race. What on earth has gotten into him?
“Hak…”
Your voice comes out breathy, betraying your attempt to remain composed.
He smirks, but there’s something different about the way he’s looking at you now - something that sends a tingle straight down your spine. His hands flex at his sides as he steps closer, his body almost touching yours.
"You sure you want me to leave? Because I'm not getting that impression."
You’re too flustered to answer, heat rushing to your face, your body tense beneath the water. You're caught between the urge to push him away and the strange pull that draws you closer. His eyes flicker downward to where the water clings to your skin, and he breathes in slowly, as if savoring the moment.
"Don't look," you mumble automatically, your tone half-warning, half-pleading.
"I’m not."
Hak’s voice is low, teasing, but there's an edge to it.
"But if you didn’t want me to look, why are you hiding under the water like that?"
You glare at him, biting your lip to keep from responding too quickly.
“I’m not hiding.”
He takes another step forward, closing the distance until you can feel the heat of his body radiating against you.
“Sure you’re not.”
His voice is low and seductive now, each word making your heart beat faster. He leans in, his breath warm against your ear as his fingers brush the edge of the water.
“I’m just trying to make sure you’re okay. And it seems to me you’re not so fine with me leaving. Aren’t you?”
Your breath catches in your throat, and before you can stop yourself, you gasp when his hand barely skims your shoulder, sending a shock of heat through your body. Your instincts flare up, and you try to pull back, but his presence is suffocating, and there’s nowhere to go.
You glance at him, eyes wide with something between irritation and panic, but your words get caught in your throat as he steps even closer. The tension between you is suffocating now, crackling with something raw, something primal, something that makes the air heavy and thick with desire.
"You’ve been avoiding me all this time," he whispers, his lips brushing your ear, sending a shiver through your body.
"But you can’t hide from me forever, (y/n)."
You shiver, unable to speak, your breath coming faster as his hand traces lightly down your arm. His fingers linger just long enough for you to feel the warmth of them against your skin, igniting a fire within you.
“W-what are you doing?” you manage to breathe out, barely able to get the words out past the tightness in your chest.
Hak’s lips curl into a half-smile, the teasing edge still there, but there’s something deeper behind his eyes now.
“I’m just making sure you understand what I’ve been trying to say.”
His voice is thick, husky now, like the air between you both is too thick to bear.
The space between you both is impossibly small, and you’re not sure if it’s your breath or his that’s filling the air, making everything feel suffocating. You can’t remember the last time you felt this close to him - felt this seen by him.
But somehow, you never want it to end. No, you want him to stay like this, you want to feel him this close to you.
You want him, none other than Son Hak.
“Maybe…I want you”, you breathe into the night.

Bonus: all the men hehe

The hot spring is supposed to be your reward. After days of trekking through rough terrain, dealing with bandits, and sleeping in the dirt, this feels like heaven itself. Even Yun had chimed in, saying you deserved a moment to relax, offering you some alone-time in the hot springs. They had specifically assigned this hot spring to you, promising that no one would disturb you. Sometimes, they are able to act nice.
You sigh cheerfully, the warm water easing every ache and pain in your body. It’s peaceful, calm, and the perfect chance to relax.
Until the door to the changing area slides open with a loud clack.
You jolt upright, your heart leaping into your throat. Before you can even process what’s happening, Hak strides in, wearing nothing but a small, damp white towel slung low around his waist. Water drips from his messy hair as he steps confidently into the spring, seemingly unaware of your presence.
“Man, this is going to feel great,” Hak signs, stretching his arms overhead.
You feel like seeing a ghost. Didn’t the old lady tell you in front of everyone else that the hot spring number three will be reserved for you only? Are you mistaken?
“H-Hak?!” you sputter, your voice echoing in the steamy air.
He freezes mid-step, his dark eyes snapping toward you. For a moment, neither of you say anything. Then, his signature grin returns, twice as mischievous as usual.
“Oh? Didn’t expect to see you here,” Hak comments smoothly, his tone dripping with faux innocence.
“Don’t mind me - this is my assigned tub, too.”
“What?! No, it isn’t!” you snap, your face turning bright red as you sink lower into the water, desperate to hide yourself.
Before Hak can reply, another voice calls out.
“Wait for me, Thunder Beast! Don’t hog the spring!”
Jae-Ha appears, his towel slung over his shoulder and his long legs carrying him gracefully into the clearing. The green dragon freezes mid-step when he spots you, his eyes widening slightly before a sly smile spreads across his face.
“Oh my,” he jeers, tossing the towel around his neck like he’s suddenly a model.
“This is quite the surprise. If I’d known we’d have company, I’d have brought wine to celebrate.”
“Get out!” you yell, your face burning as Jae-Ha perches casually on the edge of the spring, clearly ignoring you.
“Oh, don’t be shy, darling. We’re all friends here,” Jae-Ha teases, kicking one leg lazily into the water.
Before you can scream again, a third figure enters. Kija, holding his white cloth with a prim sort of dignity, strides in with his nose held high.
“Hak, I told you to wait for the rest of us before-”
His words trail off as he spots you, blue eyes widen in sheer shock.
There’s a beat of silence, and then Kija’s face turns bright red. He spins on his heel so fast he nearly trips.
“What are you doing in here?! This is improper!”
“Me?” you shriek, waving a hand at him.
“You’re the ones barging in here!”
“Don’t yell at me!” Kija shouts back, his voice an octave higher than usual.
“I wasn’t told this spring was occupied! Especially not by you!”
“STOP SOUNDING SO DISGUSTED!”
He whirls back around to glare at Hak and Jae-Ha, who seem far less mortified than he is.
But there’s no time to argue or for further protest, because Zeno skips in next, humming a cheerful tune. He’s the only one who doesn’t even hesitate, wading straight into the water without a care in the world.
“Ah, nice and warm!” Zeno chirps, sinking into the spring as though this were a casual picnic.
He glances at you and tilts his head.
“Oh, you’re here too? That’s great! Makes it more fun!”
This can’t be true, right? They have to be a hallucination, every single one of them. But something about Hak’s slight grin tells you it can’t be, that this is bitter reality.
“Zeno, get out!” you groan, holding your hands over your face.
“What? Zeno didn’t do anything wrong!” he protests, grinning wide as ever.
Your sanity shakes on the edge as yet another figure appears. Shin-Ah stands in the doorway, frozen in place as he takes in the scene. His glowing golden eyes flicker between you and the others, and you can see the color rising in his ears even beneath his hood.
“Shin-Ah, please tell them to leave!” you plead, clutching the edge of the spring for dear life.
Finally someone with a little bit of sense. He nods once, almost robotically, before turning to departure - only for Ao to leap from his shoulder and dive into the water with an enthusiastic squeak.
“Great,” you mutter as the little squirrel starts splashing around.
“To be honest, Ao is the only one I really want here.”
“I-I’ll take Ao,” Shin-Ah mumbles, clearly flustered as he steps toward the spring, only to stop dead when his foot slips on a wet stone.
He stumbles, barely catching himself, and the towel around his waist slips a little before he falls straight into the water.
Straight against you.
Your naked self, to be exact.
“Shin-Ah!”
“I-I’m sorry!” he stammers, his voice barely audible as he scrambles backward, his movements awkward and frantic.
He dashes away from you as if you’re the plague, his face so red you think steam might start rising off him.
Before you can fully process what just happened, a low whistle cuts through the tension.
“Well, isn’t this interesting?” Hak drawls, leaning back against the rocks with that insufferable smirk of his.
He crosses his arms over his chest, looking far too amused for your liking.
“Guess we know what Shin-Ah’s type is now. Didn’t think he’d make such a bold move, though. Props to him.”
Your jaw drops.
“What did you just say?!”
Hak shrugs, feigning innocence as he gestures toward the flustered Shin-Ah, who looks like he wants to melt into the water and disappear.
“I mean, falling into you like that? Pretty smooth move if you ask me. Maybe I should take notes-”
“You should take notes on leaving me alone!” you snap, your voice practically reverberating off the rocks.
“Seriously, Hak, of all the idiotic, inappropriate - HOW IS THIS FUNNY TO YOU?!”
Hak raises an eyebrow, clearly entertained by your outburst.
“Come on, it’s a little funny-”
“IT’S NOT FUNNY!” you scream, throwing a handful of water in his direction.
He dodges effortlessly, of course, laughing even harder.
“You’re impossible!” you huff, clutching the edge of the spring to keep yourself from launching at him.
“First, you barge in uninvited, then you make inappropriate comments, and now you’re making jokes about this?! What is WRONG with you?”
“Plenty of things,” Hak admits with a shameless grin, earning himself a chorus of groans from Kija and a small splash of water from Zeno, who seems to be trying to cheer you up.
“Shut up, Hak,” Kija mutters, pinching the bridge of his nose.
“You’re going to get us all killed.”
Jae-Ha chuckles from his perch on the edge of the spring.
“To be fair, Thunder Beast does have a knack for digging his own grave.”
“That’s it!” you shout, pointing furiously at all of them.
“I’ll kill every single one of you right now!
Finally, Yun storms in just in time, his face already set in a scowl.
“What is wrong with all of you? I can’t leave for one second without laughing around like idiots and talking trash-”
He stops, taking in the chaos: you half-hidden in the water, Hak smirking, Jae-Ha lounging, Zeno grinning, Kija fuming, Shin-Ah frozen, and Ao splashing around like it’s a game. Yun pinches the bridge of his nose. So, that’s what’s going on here. Did all of them not listen to what the old lady said earlier?
“You were all supposed to be in the other spring!” Yun yells, his voice echoing so loudly that even Hak winces.
“Do none of you listen?!”
“It’s fine, Yun,” Zeno interferes, waving him off.
“It’s cozier this way! And being naked together helps with bonding!”
“Oh, I know something you can do naked that helps with bonding as well”, Jae-Ha comments with a slight grin.
You let out a strangled noise, your head sinking into your hands.
“I’m going to lose my mind…”
“Relax,” Hak says with a laugh, slipping into the water like nothing is amiss.
“We’re all friends here, right?”
“Out!”

MINORS DNI 18+ ᶻ 𝗓 𐰁 .ᐟ NOTES: you don't know what you did to me with this one anon. i loved this fucking inbox message. god thank you like oh my god i cant believe it WARNINGS: fem reader | dom hak | explicit sexual content | established relationship | overstimulation | multiple orgasms | p in v.
HAK isn’t especially talkative during sex, save for the occasional comment that always has your insides begging to be screwed. Instead, he fills that silence with the language of his body, ardently conveying his desires as he folds you in half with his hands on your thighs. However, this is an exception. "H-Hak!" you choke out, but he lovingly hushes you, stroking your hair as he feeds his cock into your exposed hole from the position.
"Hold it right there for me, princess, don't move a muscle." he tells you with awe in his eyes and haste in his movements, introducing you to just the tip of him to let you get comfortable. You nod to him with artificial determination, squeezing your eyes shut as you adjust to him. His length is not only formidable, but his girth leaves nothing to be desired, thickly rutting into you to hollow out a place for himself. "Takin' it so good, baby, you want some'ore?" he murmurs in encouragement, and you nod again with a little whimper. A warm hand spans the base of your stomach, and you peep, peeling your eyes open as he holds your gaze with such a casually comforting expression. "Relax." he orders, but it's not a command, it's a strong suggestion. You breathe in deeply, and slack as much as you can while his hips swing in and out.
Gradually, and with a lot of groundwork, Hak is able to sheathe, and you're limp as a doll. A callused thumb affectionately strokes at your clit, puffy from stimulation. "Poor thing had to cum a couple times just to get me in, huh?" he taunts with a couple flicks of his hips, bobbing your whole body with such minuscule force. You whine from his cruelty paired with the stinging pleasure of being filled, clutching tight around his neck as he bites at your lobe. He had half a mind to warn you he's gonna go harder now, but you wouldn't verbally react anyway. Instead, he sets a regular pace, and moans in your ear from low in his throat, showing you how good you feel. The quiet is filled with the sound of his cock plunging into your gooey center, the smack of skin on skin as he harvests his own pleasure from the throes of this bed, using your brainless body to do it. He's thinking of you, thinking of how to make you feel good, watching you intently in the dull light as your mouth hangs open and your eyes flutter closed, and in turn it sends a rush through him. He renders you practically lifeless as a sex toy with just the efforts of his cock pistoning into you.
It's not long before you're cumming again, all it takes is a little tickle to your clit as he fucks you. Cream oozes out from around his cock, your hole pulsing around his shaft, but he doesn't let up. Your walls are overstimulated, but you're so far gone you let him do whatever he wants, it doesn't matter what it is. You want him to use you. "Oh, yeah, baby. Just like that." he talks you through it, keeping up a steady pace with the roll of his thumb over your clit, letting you ride it out your full body spasms. "You're so easy. Feel like I could just do this." Leisurely, he moves in you while he toys with your sensitive bud, observing your reactions as you appear as though you're reaching another orgasm. "Fuck, princess, how many is that already? Wanna do a couple more?" For the first time, you're able to gain autonomy of your own anatomy, clutching at him wherever you can reach to meekly shake your head. "No?" he confirms, amused. A wolfish grin stretches onto his lips as he cruelly tests you, his deft finger curls and straightens over your clit, swiping at it in a harsh manner.
"You're being mean!" you whine, banging your fist against his chest.
"You could make it harder for me, you know."
"Hak!" you chide and he snickers at you.
"I'll be nicer. I'll be nicer." he concedes, lowering himself to encase you with his body, sweetly moving his hips to sheathe and unsheathe completely. You pant over his shoulder, tangling your fingers in his hair to ground yourself as he drives his cock into you. The room is heated by your efforts, and your skins are tacky with sweat, the salt mixing with saliva as he leaves a series of passionate open-mouthed kisses along the column of your neck. "I can't get over how good you feel, never felt anything like it." he speaks against your shoulder, ending it with a generous lick. "Where've you been all my life, huh? Where's this cunt been hiding?"
There's a familiar tenseness in your stomach that lets him know another one is brewing, and he doesn't dare upset the pace. He keeps talking to you, pulling back for better leverage as you meet his gaze with stars in your eyes. A dreamy smile curls the corners of your mouth as you feel that sweet warmth bloom in your body, nearing you to the edge. "Cum for me, pretty girl, wanna see you do it one more time." With that, you release, more powerful than before. Your back arches off the bed, and protectively he holds you through it, pressing you chest to chest with him as he licks your insides with the head of his cock. Your sweet cream spurts out from around him, dripping to the covers as nuzzles your damp hairline. His hard body against yours, you can feel his every muscle, but he's gentle when he coos praises about how good you did for him.

. . . ⇢ ˗ˏˋ 𝟕 𝐌𝐢𝐧𝐮𝐭𝐞𝐬 𝐢𝐧 𝐇𝐞𝐚𝐯𝐞𝐧 ࿐ྂ
Tumblr media
Pairing: Son Hak X afab!Reader
Synopsis: When a simple game of 7 Minutes in Heaven caused MC and Son Hak spend time inside the cramped closet.
Word Count: 766
Tumblr media
"Okay, [Name]-chan, your turn~" Jae-ha handed you the small box that contains several pieces of paper in it.
"Here goes nothing..." you gulped as you dove your hand inside, closing your eyes while randomly picking the lucky person.
You opened your eyes when you already picked a random paper from the box. You unfolded it and stared at the paper, you can't believe your eyes. You gulped hard.
"What does it says, [Name]-chan?" the redhead female snatched the paper from you and glanced at it.
"Y-Yona!"
She read it out loud. "3. Ooh~ Hak is number 3! You are very lucky, [Name]-chan!"
"Really? That's too bad, I really wished that [Name]-chan would pick me," Su-won childishly pouted.
"Well~!" Jae-ha pushed you into the closet.
"H-hey! Jae-ha!" you shrieked, slightly flustered of the idea to spend 7 minutes in a cramped, dark closet with no other than Son Hak himself your secret crush.
Once you are shoved inside, you composed yourself and moved to the left side of the closet, next to the door to let the other person inside. You definitely don't want Hak to accidentally be shoved in and fell on you. Nah-ah. Nope. Not happening. The said thunder beast came in next, Jae-ha, using all his strength to push the heavy male inside, despite his protests. Once the tow of you are in, the green-haired male slammed the door close, followed by the click of the lock.
"Damn that green dragon!" Hak hissed under his breath.
You stayed quiet in your spot, never daring to move one bit inside the cramped space. The space is too small that your bodies are "extremely" close to each other. You could heat his fast heartbeat pounding against his ribcage. His hot breath tickling your ear. You blushed a thousand shades of red because of the close proximity.
"Hey, [Name]..." the tall male called, his breath slightly brushing agaisnt the top of your hair.
"Y-yes?" you stuttered, trying to look up to met his blue eyes despite the tightness.
"Damn..." he hissed under his breath when he saw your feature.
You are a sweating mess right now, the tightness of the closet and the closeness the two of you are in made your body sweat uncontrollably. Some strands of your [h/l] [h/c]-colored hair sticking to your sweaty face. Your cheeks were in a deep shades of red as I speak.
"I've been trying hard to stop myself, but after seeing you here in this cramped closet like that—sweating because of the hotness and flustered because of embarrassment—here with me..." he slightly growled seductively, his blue orbs never leaving yours. "I don't think I can stop myself anymore."
You tried to collect yourself before questioning. "W-what do you—hmph!?"
The next thing you knew was Hak aggressively kissing you. He snaked his arms around your waist to pull you close. After a moment, you recovered from your surprised state and hesitating before kissing him back. You closed your eyes to enjoy the moment, him as well. Hak bit your lower lips, asking for entrance, and this caught you by surprise and gasped, making your eyes shot open. He took this chance and slipped his soft tongue into your cavern. You moaned in the kiss, feeling every inch of your mouth be explored by him. Unfortunately, you both need to part for air. You panted heavily and glanced up to him, you could slightly see his cheeks tinted with red in the dark.
"[Name]..." Hak leaned down and whispered against your ear.
"Y-yes?" you could feel a shiver ran down your spine.
"I love you."
You smiled to yourself, closing your eyes and leaning against his chest. "I never actually thought that you will ever return my feelings for you."
"Well now, you know that I do."
"Yeah.."
"And later, I'm gonna show you how much I love you..." he whispered seductively, his voice so deep demanding.
You instantly shot your eyes open at his statement, and you definitely didn't like what he meant by that. Your heartbeat that is calming down started to race again. Your slightly flustered cheeks darkened once again.
"I-I—"
And just then, the door was slammed open. You sighed in relief. The 7 minutes was already over.

finally going back to work on the hakxyona fic I started last year, rereading it and blushing because ~phew~ I forgot how steamy it was...
Tumblr media
I think instead of making it a one-off, I'm going to build it out into a three-chapter arc with the last one having the romantic tension come to a head

Dancing Dragons
Zeno x reader fanfic part-1
!Disclaimer! this is my first fan fic and English isn't my first language so please be nice.
Tumblr media
Back Story
You are a twenty-two year-old wandering entertainer from Xing, you come from a big family, and you're quite popular among nobility. You started out dancing and singing on the streets, to preforming in theaters.
Your life was amazing despite the fact your parents were mad at you for years for not becoming a doctor, government official, or marrying into a rich family. But other than that your life was great, until one day you came home from a trip, and your whole house was in an uproar. Turns out your younger cousin was kidnapped, he'd been gone for weeks and you're family only had one lead. A couple month's went by and your family hired a private investigators, but none of them had gotten anywhere in their investigation, so you pack your bags and look for yourself.
Present day
You're wandering the water tribe in Koukha, umbrella in hand as you look for an inn, the rain is hard and loud you can barely hear yourself, but then you hear a scream. You see a girl who can't be over the age of thirteen on the floor with a black eye, while an older man probably forty towers over her.
You know you probably can't win this fight so you should leave, but you just can't leave a child alone at the mercy of some random man. You grab a rock off the ground and throw it at the man's face, you run towards the little girl grab her and run away. You get kinda far from the man but he's fast, you manage to hide the girl but he grabs you and throws you to the hard and wet pavement. The man gets on top of the and starts screaming at you as the blood from his eye starts dripping on your face, you try to break free from under him but he's got you pinned down, and everytime you lift up your head he slams it back onto the ground and you start bleeding yourself.
You fear the worst is about to happen, but then you see a huge white claw pick him up and throw him. You see a group of strange people and a person with blazing red hair, a person with golden hair rushes up to you before you black out.
You woke up you caught the amazing aroma of steamed pork buns, and a plethora of spices, when you opened your eyes you see the man with the golden hair above you, before you could say anything he offers you a rice ball. "Hello..." you sit up and look around, this place look pretty fancy and this is an amazing bed. "Are you ok? that's a pretty deep cut on your cheek," the man looks at you concerned, and he's still holding a plate for you. He doesn't look like he could be older than nineteen, but he looked younger and he was Incredibly welcoming so you were at ease around him. "Yes, I'm alright, would you be ever so kind and tell me where I am?" "Oh you're in the water tribe..." it takes him a couple seconds to realize what he said, "Oh! Your in Riri's house, she's the daughter of the water tribe chief and his friends with us."
As the yellow boy talks to me another person walks in the room, "Zeno i told you to call me when they wake up! Hi I'm yun, it's your cheek ok?" "Yes it is, thank you." Yun walks up to you to re-bandage the scar, "how did you find me, and why did you help me?" Yun and Zeno both look at you surprised by the question, and all three of guy are collectively confused. "What did you mean why did we save you? You needed help so we helped." Zeno added, "Oh, the little girl asked up for help, then Jea-Ha took her home." you look relived and try to get up out of bed but Zeno loops hid arms around her shoulders. "You've been asleep for three days, Zeno doesn't think it's good for you to get up yet."
It takes you quite some time to register what he said, "Three days! I-i need to go!" You rush out if need grab your bags and into the hallway as Zeno and Yun run after you. "Wait come back!" Yun screams at you and you run into the garden trying to get out but you bump into a guy with green hair, "oh, hello there, and whom might i owe the pleasure." He holds your hand and kisses it, uni get quite flustered and confused by this romantic gesture some random man just greated you with. "Hello, Hi, I'm Y/N and I'm just about to be gone." As you try to exit out the garden door a man with pale skin and hair for in your way, "aren't you the girl we found in the streets? Should you be out yet, I thought Yun and Zeno were watching you?" As you try to get away from them Zeno grabs you by the waist "Hey you can't go yet, Zeno doesn't want you to!" you're overwhelmed by this and when you finally break free you see a guy with a weird mask and a bunch of fur. at the point you're surrounded, but then the person with the red hair comes around and tells them to back off, "Hi I'm Yona, sorry about these guys they can get... curious, what is your name?" At this point you're irritated and you just want to leave, but you dust yourself off and tell her your name. "I'm Y/N." "Common let's go to a more quiet spot." She lead you to a gazebo with three other girls two with black hair one blonde, "Riri she woke up!" One of the girls rushes over to you and asks if you're ok and they sit you down at the table and you explain everything. You've been talking with the girls for hours enjoying yourself, and forgot all of your problems until Petra asks you a question, "Y/N you said you're a traveling entertainer correct?" You replied with, "Yes, why do you ask?" "I just wanted to know who in Koukha booked you for a show?" You take a second to process what she said and you remember why you came here.
"Actually I was heading to Sen Province, my younger cousin was kidnapped, and the only peice of evidence we have is an address with Sen province under it. THAT'S IT NO NAME, NO MET UP PLACE, NO RANSOM JUST THIS!" You start to tear up in anger, confusion, and frustration. "It's so frustrating, I don't even know what to expect what if he's already dead what if I'm too late! I don't know what to do, but if I don't try, if I dint get there fast enough I have no doubt in my mind he will be gone. Thank you for helping me but I must take my leave." You grab you bag and start to head out but Yona says something unexpected, "me and the dragons will help you find him, you said going alone might be dangerous but you'll be safe with us."
Your shocked by this, the fact a group of random people are willing to help you is baffling. "I-i don't even know you, why wigs you want to help me... TWICE?" She grabs you by your hands "we're friends now and you need to get your cousin back so we'll help." "Thank you Yona... you don't know what this means for me, I- I can't describe what this means to me."
The next day you and the rest of the happy hungry bunch left for Sen province, as you all walk through the forest and the mountains you get to know all of them. You all become great friends, and the trip is supposed to take a three on foot but everything is going great so far. The group stopped in a clearing and set up camp when it was late, after everything was fine you decided to go on a walk. As you were walking through the forest you find a flower field, the flowers ranged from lavender, baby's breath, and chrysanthemums, the beautiful colors mixed with the sunset is almost euphoric. You take off you cape put it on the ground and layed down, you have hope that you'll find your cousin and get back to Xing so fast you'll barely remember what happened between. You start to doze off but you hear something coming up, you think it's a bunny so you don't mind until that thing... lays next to you. You open your eyes and jump up in shock, you look down and you see Zeno laying next to you. "Did I scare ya?" He looks at you with a cheeky smile plastered on his face, "Zeno don't do that, my soul almost left by body!" You were kinda angy quickly calm down and lay back down, "so why'd you come out? Me personally I was just bored". Zeno turns to his side and faces you, "Do you ever think of death, do you ever wonder who, or what is waiting for you on the other side?"
You look at him shocked by the question, "I haven't thought that far, no matter what you believe in I don't think death is something you should be scared of." Zeno looks at you then looks but at the sky, "elaborate, you aren't scared of death. If I were to stab you, you'd be fine with that?" You're dumbfounded by that reply, Zeno is a cute little kid... well not little but he doesn't usually talk like this.
"That's not what I meant. Death is as natural as birth, death itself isn't scary is the way you die. If you pass in a comfortable bed surrounded by your loved ones that's a good death, but if you're murdered, burned, or suffocated, that's a bad death." You try to think of words to further explain, but Zeno says something before you do, "i get that, you don't need to explain yourself," you and Zeno both just may Duan and enjoy life together, but even you opened your eyes the beautiful red sunset turn into a black sky full of stars. You look around and see Zeno laying next to you looking at the stars, "oh your awake you've been asleep for awhile, don't get me wrong if love to stay here with you but we be better off with everyone else." Zeno stands up and holds his hands out for you, you grab them and the two of you walk back to camp, "how long did you wait for me?" You asked Zeno a question you beloved was stupid to try and fill the awkward quite walk back, "probably two hours..." you ask Zeno "what did you say? Two hours why didn't you just she me up?" Zeno grabs your hand and continues to walk with you,
"I fell asleep as well, but I woke up two hours before you do is fine... Why do you care so much about inconveniencing other people, even if it causes you a problem? You were about to leave by yourself until the princess said well accompany you, why is it so hard for you to ask for help?" You stop dead in your tracks and stare daggers at Zeno, "What the hell did you just say to me! You barely even know me, I don't have to explain anything to you!" You're obviously insulted by his question "I know how to ask for help but..." You take a moment to think about what he said it was Incredibly hard for you to ask for help when you need it, he's only known you for a matter of four days you were asleep for three of them and he can still tell. "So what, it's better I do things myself, if I ask someone else to do it I'll be disappointed. It's not even that big of a deal, so getting help isn't Worth it."
Zeno grabs your hands, and placed his forehead on yours, "I have a good feeling about you, don't be scared to ask me for anything. Ok." It's too dark to see but you can feel Zeno next to you, you tighten your grip on his hands and take a deep breath, "Ok... let's go back" Zeno smile and leads you back to camp.
When you two get back to camp you see Hak and Jae-Ha talking by the fire, "where have you two been?" Jae-Ha asks with a smug look in his face while Hak is side eyeing him, "I fell asleep in a flower field, Zeno found me and waited until I woke up." You go into the tent you're sharing with Yona and Yun, when you get in your sleeping bag you can't stop thinking of Zeno, he was so warm and comforting, but at the same time you were in edge around him. Zeno is... something, but I wonder where his parents are and why they'd let a seventeen year-old go away with a strange group of people, you wonder so many things about all of them but for now you'll wait until the time is right.

Introducing, the lightning dragons wish fanfiction!
The fanfiction doesn’t take place in really any arc and is stand alone. It follows the oc queen shoe from a foreign country coming to Kouka to aid the dragons and yona.
This fic includes mentions of slave trafficking and the like along with drugs and character deaths! I began this project way back in 2016 I only ever uploaded 14k words, but upon getting the doc for it back there’s over 35k words of this work written. So I’m sharing and I’ll be continuing the fic with a solid ending! I hope any yona of the dawn fans get to enjoy.
Includes the ships hak and yona, along with Kira x Jae ha

Tag 9 people you want to get to know better
Thanks @feralremains for the tag! I'm just gonna follow your lead for what to post about!
Most recent ship: I would say Hannigram but I actually watched Our Flag Means Death for the first time more recently than Hannibal, so I have to say GentleBeard even though I am currently obsessed with Hannigram.
Most written about ship: Again, I would say Hannigram because I've posted the most about them, but I haven't actually written anything substantial about them (in terms of word count). I did once write a 45,000 word fic for a different fandom, but it was an x reader so I can't count that either really. Given all that, I think the ship I've written the most for is Yona/Hak from Yona of the Dawn. I've written about 9,000 words of fic for the two of them.
Ship that got me into fanart/fanfic: As far as fanfic goes, I started out writing almost exclusively x readers for a bunch of different fandoms. I'm pretty sure the first actual ship I wrote a fanfic for was Destiel. As far as fanart, I don't actually spend a lot of time drawing the same character or ship over and over in most cases, but I do remember that the first ship I ever drew fanart for was Mika/Yuu from Seraph of the End:
Tumblr media
It's not a great piece of art but I drew it when I was 15 and my art has improved a lot since then. You can also see (what I think is) my most recent ship art below of Yona/Hak from Yona of the Dawn:
Tumblr media
First ship: I mean Avatar: the Last Airbender came out when I was just a little kid, so I can't say I shipped it the same way I understand shipping works now, but I remember watching it and being like "Ew why is Katara with Aang she should be with Zuko."
Last song I listened to: Last song I listened to was Polyphemus from EPIC: The Cyclops Saga. If you haven't heard of the musical EPIC, I would definitely recommend checking it out. It's not entirely released yet though. Only two sagas are out and I think the creator (Jorge Rivera-Herrans) said there's a total of nine sagas.
Last movie I watched: My friends and I have a movie night every Friday, and this past Friday, we watched The Princess Bride and Pride and Prejudice. Also let me tell you, movie nights have greatly changed since the soundboard was introduced to discord. There's nothing like hearing Mr. Darcy say "I love... I love... I love you." followed by a vine boom.
Currently reading: I'm trying to get myself into reading Red Dragon by Thomas Harris. I'm 2 chapters in but my brain keeps wanting to gravitate towards the fanfiction world, so I'm actually currently in the middle of rereading the Hannigram fic Ethics and Aesthetics by FragileTeacup on AO3.
Currently consuming: I just finished stress-eating a bunch of chicken nuggets while sitting on the bathroom floor WOOO! My cats came to comfort me and also to try and steal some chicken nuggets.
Currently craving: idk a lot? I want a jamocha shake from Arby's but there's no Arby's near my house. I want to learn how to rollerskate but I'm afraid of breaking my spine again and I was never good at it even as a kid. I want to see my big sister but she and her husband are too busy for us until Christmas (but not for other friends and family).
People I'd love to get to know better, but don't feel pressured to post about yourself if you don't want to:
@stranded-labyrinth @honeygrahambitch @petrowriting @fishing-motif @teacupmotif @doemotif @ghostforwhat @bloody-hands-motif @pikslasrce

Hey!😁I wanna hear about *your* ships now! No pressure.😊💌
Ohohoho.
Almost a year ago, a friend of mine asked about the same thing, but she asked specifically about my controversial ships lol Consider this post an update to that post cus I have more to say after some time.
But your question is about ships in general so, just for fun, let's turn the globe to years and years ago when Kris (aka me) was still very new in fandom.
And this is very, very, very long, btw, I'm sorry lmao I didn't know I was waiting for this day.
Ahem.
Middle-school Kris was a person who didn't understand the fun of shipping and fanfiction outside of canon; crackship, crossover, non-canon ship, or non-canon rareship, you name it. Kris was a canon main couple shipper. She didn't understand the idea of pairing someone who never interacted, like, huh? What? What are you doing? How can that be fun? Weirdos.
So as a result, Kris only shipped main couples. Also, the safe ones. Since this was in her anime era, her ships were like Ichigo x Rukia (Bleach) (my first real ship; still ship it but I have lost interest since it's sunken xD), Soma x Erina (Food Wars) (the story execution sucked so I lost interest but this was the ship that intro'ed me to Tumblr fandom community), Yona x Hak (Yona of the Dawn) (my fav shojo manga, dear to my heart but not in the fandom or read fics like others), and Okabe x Kurisu (Steins;Gate) (nostalgia now but I hugely loved this), and Twilight x Yor (Spy x Family) (fake marriage Mr and Mrs Smith? Just my shit).
They are all canon ships. You get it.
But then October 2022 happened. The exact date it happened is right after my birthday even LOL
As I have said in the Prev Post I linked above, basically I stumbled on the most influential fic of my life because it changed Kris' everything (my dramatics won't go away because that's how it feels lol) It's CORNY as HELL to list what change, but it's, um, the concepts of humans and bad and good people? And how I see fiction? Ask me in private if anyone is curious for details cus I can't bear to list it *shudder*
It's a fic of a non-canon rare ship. Crackship? No idea, but definitely rare.
And I didn't realise I had been following The White Rabbit to Wonderland, and when I realised what had happened, I hadn't tried to get out.
Caulscott (Life is Strange) showed me how fun it is to ship outside the canon. That ship also introduced me to how it feels to ship a controversial ship, since the guy is very hated in the fandom. In my above post, I called it "my descent to darkness" because that, I guess, was my first controversial debut. I really didn't like the public scrutiny of liking a controversial character btw LOL
I don't know what thoughts of mine I should add to this ship, but I was amazed at the creativity of the people who can transform and develop a blank and a totally BLAH character into someone I love. A BLAH character because Nathan is a one-dimensional one, whom previously I'd found a bit annoying. Admittedly, technically I love the character's potential more than the canon character, but my love for the Fanon Nathan still pours into Canon Nathan.
Hundreds of fics since then, this fic is still at the throne of my favourite fic ever. My friend and I called this fic "The Fic" lol
The fandom is only a handful of people now and it's kinda lonely, but they are my dearest mutuals. This ship made me return to Tumblr, actually, because I left after Food Wars lost me lol I will post more Caulscott tag posts when I have the inspo!
When I encountered Hellcheer (Stranger Things), I was very relieved because it's not controversial at all, because I was tired of walking on eggshells (yes, Caulscott, a dying controversial ghost ship was exhausting enough). But of course, as it turned out...not really, but I won't repeat what I said in the Previous Post. From this fandom, I witnessed how a ship of 5-minute screentime can be so powerful. I clocked Hellcheer when I watched the show, but before I processed it she's dead so I just forgot about it. It only clicked in my head because of a fanart. I was drawn to their different aesthetics; girly girl and a metalhead. It's a ship that started as a rareship, but it grew this far (3.5k on AO3 now) because the fandom is so passionate (and fueled by spite)! It amazes me.
Hellcheer is very versatile. Every AU fits them, I feel. It can be the base of every kind of romance drama possible, even the dark ones. But more than that, it's a ship of women's liberation, in every kind of way; liberation in love, in sexuality, and in creativity, also their liberation from abuse, from toxicity, from their caged body, and from societal pressure. This ship's core is woman, in the form of Chrissy. I think that's beautiful and surprisingly deep? I don't think it's deliberate, it's just the way it is because of the people in the community. This ship might only stem from 5 minutes of screentime, but this ship means a lot to many people. People who want to criticise it can gtfo actually hehe! xD
Hellcheer is reminiscent of my ship pattern before Caulscott. I mean, it's a cliché of loser boy / popular girl romance. I still looove clichés.
Then, one day, I heard the news that there would be a Hunger Games' prequel film. I'm a fan of the franchise so I was looking forward to it but I hadn't read the book. I wasn't feeling anything from the trailer ("Ugh, why President Snow is the MC, why he looks like Eminem here?"), since I was still in the chokehold of the original trilogy. But, then I saw posts about "People shouldn't ship Snowbaird! Snow is evil and toxic blah blah blah blah you are condoning blah blah blah blah (basically anti posts)" on Tumblr, I said, "Ha ha ha! Bring it on, bitches!"
I have been trained by Caulscott aka my first controversial ship. I have been living fueld by SPITE. I decided to ship Snowbaird that day to spite the haters. Even if I knew it'd be exhausting, I just wanted to spite the haters. That's a funny origin story lol I bought the book after that.
Because I didn't summarise it in the Prev Post, The Ballad of Songbirds and Snakes or TBOSAS is the prequel of the trilogy. It's about a teenage boy called Coriolanus Snow who mentors a District 12 tribute in the Hunger Games, Lucy Gray Baird. They save each other, they legitimately end up falling in love with each other, but Coriolanus keeps getting tested by the harsh world to let go of his thirst for power and choose love. Fear defeats him, however, and he hardens himself and gives up on love and humanity. He ends up becoming the future dictator, aka the main enemy of Katniss in the original trilogy.
The funny thing is I relate to the little bitch of Coriolanus Snow's narration SO MUCH. He has this Regina George in his mind he never voices out and, well, I relate to having a little bitch in my mind too, even though not to his extent, I would say. Like at some point in my reading I was like, "Oh, Lord in heaven, if I say that I understand/sympathise with this little bitch, I'll get cancelled, no?"
I hadn't finished the book when I watched it on the theatre and I spent 10 minutes trying not to cry that day, because he could have chosen love. He was sooo close to choosing kindness. And he didn't.
In the Prev Post, I said that I didn't know where to go with this ship. After months, I still don't really know, not gonna lie. This ship is a tragedy because both Coriolanus and Lucy Gray are stubborn ass people who I personally can't see diverging from the path in the book. The story takes that path because Coriolanus and Lucy Gray are the way they are. Don't get me wrong, Lucy Gray did everything right, running from danger. The key here is Coriolanus, and well, he's a stupid ass bitch. More tragedy is I think he just needed a slap to the face and everything wouldn't happen, but alas.
People would say, "Uh, so what, Kris. You have AO3." I know lol I read some fics too, but ironically, considering the next ships, the fics are toxic and I can't see that of them, it actually chokes me. It's 1k fics on AO3 now, but I haven't been around to read more fics. The second reason is because I feel weird with canon divergence, because I really can't see them diverge, but it's a very me problem. I prefer a Modern AU or Our World AU, where I totally can see them not being doomed.
Still love them, of course. The book message further underlined what I learned from Caulscott, about humanity and redemption blah blah blah (sounds cheesy if I write it down lmao) Also, also, the book reminds me of the beauty of literature. I don't read much because my attention span is bad, but I was so happy I found a favourite book.
Snowbaird fandom is not that big now, but it's the first fandom I dare to contribute to the tags and it's such a great experience to interact with a lot of people on your own posts!
[LOTSA SPOILERS FOR BUFFY THE VAMPIRE SLAYER BECAUSE I WANNA GUSH]
In Snowbaird Discord circle, one of my mutuals chatted with us about Spuffy (Buffy the Vampire Slayer). I'd known its existence since about a year ago because of fanarts (the Spuffy fanart you shared with me is the one that introduced me to BTVS, Far!) and been intrigued for some reason by it, but was discouraged by the number of episodes. She told us about the WORST scene of them (and of my fandom life) and the MOST BEAUTIFUL scene of them (quite possibly the most significant scene of my fandom life too). That beautiful scene made me "OK, I'LL WATCH IT GADDAMMIT".
After my experience with Nathan and Coriolanus, I was like, "Ha, bring it on. How bad could it be? I've been training all my life for this!!!"
Saying that it was a wild ride is a gross understatement. The show is PACKED with cancellable scenes and stories in today's age I was appalled.
I LOVE IT.
THEY SHOWED THOSE SHIT ON TV. I'M ROLLING. I DIED MULTIPLE TIMES. The showrunners and some of the writers were assholes but they didn't hold back, like at all. And I hate them but I'm grateful for it?
Spuffy is an enemies-to-lovers between Buffy, the vampire slayer and Spike, the evil vampire who has killed two vampire slayers throughout the century and is looking to kill Buffy as his third one. So they are the BIGGEST enemies you can get in the narrative.
It's the first time I think I found a real enemies-to-lovers because they are actually equal opposition (well, tho Spike becomes unequal to Buffy later on because of plot reasons). They spend the season they first meet trying to kill each other (and almost succeeded) and the next seasons as reluctant allies who find each other so annoying. They actually become a great fighting partner because no one else in Buffy's team is able to keep up with her. Until one day Spike realises that he falls for her lol
Okay, lore intermission! In Buffyverse, the moment they get turned, vampires lose their "human soul" (in the story, it functions as conscience/moral compass). A demon soul replaces the void and reanimates the corpse with evil. Basically, vampires are superpowered evil undeads stripped into Freudian's Theory of Human Nature: sex and violence. So vampires can eat and massacre a whole city and they won't feel any remorse. They get off on the violence actually. They are believed to be pure evil and thus the vampire slayer, the defender of goodness and humanity, must exterminate them all. Small fact but it is also believed that soullessness means they can't love.
But, Spike does. It's shown since the start that he can. And Spike. does. love. hard.
He hates it actually, falling for Buffy. He thought it was perverse and wrong (lmao Buffy agrees) but he just can't help it and in the end just accepts that he loves the slayer. The soulless love manifests in selfishness, creepiness, and toxicity. And the way he acts on his love is SO CREEPY I don't blame the homegirl at all for being utterly disgusted lmao I don't blame her too that she doesn’t believe that what he feels is love and she spends a loooong time denying that it’s love. Until…he does the most surprising thing of unselfishly protecting her and her family by sacrificing himself to be tortured. It secretly touches her. He does that a lot actually, defying the lore the universe has established. He destroys the lore Buffy and the others have believed. Vampires can't love, but he acts like he really does. Vampires should be violent, but he can be gentle. Vampires should be selfish, but he can be sacrificial. Vampires are dead, but he's the liveliest of all. Vampires only eat blood, but he also enjoys her mum's hot chocolate and marshmallows. Vampires should be evil, but he will fight on the side of good if it’s for her. And it scares her.
You know what? As much as I wanna continue to gush about the brilliant dichotomy of Spike's character, this won't end if I do so I'll stop here.
There is this whole season when Buffy faces the darkest year of her life and thus her dark side. She practically uses Spike for sex (that is unconsciously BDSM, thus very under-negotiable) to cope with her depression, self-hatred, and total numbness. Buffy, the hero, wouldn't sleep with evil, but she can't stop coming to him.
That season is where they are the worst for each other because she takes out her hurt by abusing him physically and, I'd argue, emotionally, and he accepts it all. He can take it all because, well, vampire. Not unfamiliar with mixing sex and violence, he is. He also won't die from non-stake-and-decapitation injuries anyway. And he has been begging for crumbs for so long. If this is the crumb, so be it. As long as he can have a bit of her, even if it's only her body and not her heart.
He lets her because he loves her, while she lets him because she hates herself. By being with Spike, she's punishing herself. It's a maladaptive coping mechanism. Spike is her addiction. Being with him is how she self-harms. She's so in love with death she uses an undead to feel alive in death and death in life. Spike does genuinely love her, but she doesn't want to believe it. She's ashamed. She denies herself of love because she thinks she doesn't deserve love.
(Well, he's still soulless so he tries to pull her into the darkness and entice her to embrace the darkness, because he thinks that's good for her (and good for him because he lives there, maybe he can have her as a whole that way.)
...I love it so much. Like forget about the wild juicy scenes between them that season. I'm grateful for it because Buffy is this superheroine, the epitome of heroism and altruism, the defender of humanity, the symbol of goodness, but she has deep darkness inside her.
I always relate to messy characters. Not messy as in a bad characterisation, but messy as in very human, flawed, insecure, inconsistent, selfish, prideful, hypocrites, making A TON of mistakes, doing bad things to feel better, etc. It's hard to explain why, but feeling seen is a part of it. I'm used to seeing a character doing bad things, then imagining standing inside their shoes and thinking, "Oh, I'd do that too." or "I understand their mindset" In conclusion, I love imperfectness, because I'm less than perfect. I'm grateful for a dark, slumped, lying at a low point Buffy, that she's messy and imperfect and so very human.
Of course, later in that season, there is that WORST SCENE (attempted rape scene, I'll just say it, everyone hates that scene, it was so irresponsible of the showrunners, there are lots of arguments why it shouldn't happen narratively but I won't get into that). (I don't know who will read this post but this is the biggest reason why I always emphasise please ask me for trigger and content warnings if you are interested in watching BTVS.)
Horrified, he goes somewhere to deal with a demon. He wants his soul back. He almost died for it, but he keeps fighting. For her. So he won't hurt the girl anymore. This is supposed to be impossible. No vampire in history has done it. Losing their human soul is liberating for vampires, actually. No conscience, no cage, no rules, you can do whatever you wanna do. But he gets the soul and becomes the only vampire who voluntarily gets his soul back, defying the lore again.
After that season, he is back as tortured because the soul is torturing and haunting him with every evil shit he has done. Of course, he doesn't expect to be saved or accepted, but Buffy helps him anyway. The last season is them becoming actual friends and partners (her right-hand man) and unflinching support for each other. This season is also where the MOST beautiful scene happens and just like how the depiction of Buffy's dark side touches me, this scene touches me too.
I said before that our dark side is human. But trying hard to live and still being kind is also a part of being human. And a person as a whole, even with their dark side, is still worth being loved. I don't know why this scene clings to my ribs until now. I don't know what part of myself is being comforted by it, because as far as I know, I have a very normal and uneventful life? But whatever, the peaceful feeling I get from it is significant. This scene means SO MUCH to me. I'm so very grateful it exists.
What I have written is only a few parts of why I love it, there are a lot more reasons why I love it (their partnership since the start, the way they can understand each other, the way that they are mirrors of each other, them being half light and dark themselves, etc), but I shouldn't write more xD
[END OF SPUFFY]
After Spuffy, I can't say I ship it, but I'm very fond of it. This is the ship why I made that post about ship pattern lol
It's Weslah (Angel the Series) from BTVS Spin-Off; a canon rareship. Lilah, the lady, has been the main face of this evil company, making her an enemy of Angel, the protagonist, and his team, who are again the defenders of goodness. It was established for three seasons that she is evil. Later it's shown that to survive the world as a woman, she has to wear the "evil" mask and trash her conscience. That's her method choice of survival. Meanwhile, Wesley is this British, pathetic guy in Angel's team who toughens up with the experience of fighting alongside Angel.
In Season 3, Wesley makes a big mistake, intended to protect but resulting in harming Angel's family. Angel tries to kill him and Wesley, even if he knows that he made a mistake, is hurt by it. He feels abandoned by Angel, the person who should have been his trusted friend, not giving him the chance to explain. I think it's very human, by the way, converting mixed feelings into bitterness and resentment, even when it's your mistake.
So in Season 4, Wesley and Lilah end up having a physical relationship. Normally, Wesley the White Hat wouldn't sleep with the enemy, like ever, but I think he wants to fill the emptiness. I'm not too clear on why Lilah consents, but I think she's a "Why Not?" woman. She loves Wesley's newfound darkness outside of her company's interest in him and she wants to corrupt him further.
I was like,
Tumblr media Tumblr media
In the span of minutes. It is hot indeed.
Somewhere in their relationship, Lilah ends up really liking Wesley. I'd argue that she does love him, but Wesley loves another woman. In this relationship, we see Lilah's mask slipping a lot but she still wears it well, especially masking her hurt when she sees that Wesley doesn't love her like she does him. Wesley does have great affection for her though, I'd also argue he does love her but holds back. Being careful not to fall because, well, as far as he knows he loves another woman and he shouldn't love someone who doesn't want to be on the side of goodness.
Well, this is a doomed romance because it ends with tragedy.
I'd argue again that if Lilah switched to the good side, and they had enough time, they could have been together. But alas. (I know I could turn to AO3, but not many fics are there so yup. "Make one yourself, Kris!" I can't, okay 💀)
And this is a ship pattern because this is kiiiinda just Spuffy but gender reversal and less extreme (since they are both average humans lol) I see Wesley as reminiscent/a parallel of Spike since they are both pathetic British guys (not only that but deep spoilers if I explain), while Lilah and Buffy are the girlbosses, only the good and evil are reversed. Both Buffy and Wesley are on the line between "good" and "evil" in their relationship with Spike and Lilah, thinking that this relationship is wrong. I was disappointed with my predictableness, but this ship is still so very hot.
Okay, so I know I started this...essay with the preface that I didn't understand non-canon ships, when so far I end up shipping canon anyway, except for Causlcott. Well, I think in the end I found that it's still more natural for me to ship the canon ones. The difference is the popular or not (and the toxic or not xD).
But now I understand the fun of every kind of shipping. Truthfully, there are some ships I just don't understand but I really get the search for fun.
Looking back, I can see that my tastes never really change, it just widens into the more dangerous and controversial territory xD
Btw, my ship patterns have "cringefail" and "[gender]failure" too, but it's all the men. It's all the men. The men are the cringefail and manfailure. Oh my predictableness.
Thanks for the ask, Far! Sorry for the VERY VERY VERY late posting. A HUGE writer's block xD

Trying To Make You Understand
Pairing: HakYona Anime/Manga: Akatsuki No Yona/Yona of the Dawn Prompt: Years of unrequited love made Hak question every single affectionate gesture from Yona. Suddenly courageous, she goes ahead and tries to make him understand about her feelings. Rating: T A/N: A little tongue action;)  Also, I would really appreciate a reblog or like - it makes me motivated to write more fics, and know what you guys want! I usually write naruhina fics (I honestly love them sm, I’m never gonna stop writing about them), but I would also like to write about my other OTPs. But I don’t want to do it if you guys don’t like the pairing, so make sure to give some recognition <3
Yona was sitting on the rocks, Hak was next to her, silent. The sky was dark and the light of the moon weaved in and out from the clouds. A gust of wind kissed Yona’s cold ears; she quickly put up her hood.
“So,” Hak spoke. Yona’s face flushed and she peeked at him, but he was staring at the moon. Upon closer inspection, she could see a slight tint of pink on his cheeks, but she didn’t know whether it was just her imagination. “What was that kiss for, Princess? Are you in love with me?”
His voice was teasing, no sign of sincerity crossed through his words, but Yona spluttered out a hasty reply. “N-no! Hak, you’re stupid. I just wanted to show you my appreciation... as a friend.” She said her next words a little louder. “Because you’ve done so much for me.”
Yona wanted to smack herself. What kind of friend kisses another on the lips? She doesn’t even do this to the dragons.
However, he was right. Yona was in love with him. Before they sat on the rocks, she kissed him on the mouth, suddenly. Yona didn’t know why she did it, but watching his solemnity at rare moments like these made her want to kiss away all the pain. Hak has endured through so many tribulations just for the safety of Yona. The kiss was quick and clumsy but it made Yona’s heart beat out of her chest, nonetheless. He didn’t reciprocate with the same pressure - well, he didn’t reciprocate at all. Yona doesn’t blame Hak; they were childhood friends after all.
But it still hurt Yona.
Hak sighed, suddenly. All signs of his joking demeanor completely disappearing. Yona raised her eyebrows at stared at him. His right hand was rubbing the side of his face, disappearing beneath the strands of his hair. His eyes were dark, and Yona felt her heart shatter at the look of his eyes. Hak appeared even more dejected than before.
“Hak, what’s the matter?” Ignoring the butterflies in her stomach, Yona moved closer. She rested a hand on his thigh, trying to look at him in the eyes. However, he evaded them by casting his gaze towards the horizon. Hak slowly shook his head.
“It’s nothing,” he whispered. The tone was rough and low, completely contrastive to the meaning of his words. Yona placed both her palms on the sides of his warm cheeks. The air was cool, but his skin burned underneath her fingertips. Yona swallowed, her face becoming red. She shook her head, internally - Hak was in pain, this wasn’t the time to act like a lovesick puppy.
Despite her words, when her eyes met his, Yona felt her breathing become uneven and her body became tense. Something about his gaze was different from the ones she witnessed whenever Hak was in this state. His eyes were somewhat predatory, and - Yona figured she was imagining things again - a lustful agony. Her cheeks flushed at the thought and she quickly shook it out from her head. Her eyes were wide with concern as she watched him, tilting her head in confusion when he tightly shut his eyes and breathed in, harshly.
“Princess,” his voice was ragged. She started to rub his thigh to indicate that she was listening, but Hak’s firm hands quickly grasped her wrist. His breathing was uneven and his chest heaved at every inhale. “Don’t touch me like that - and don’t kiss me like that, anymore.”
Yona felt her heart drop. She starting cursing herself when she felt tears trying to escape from her eyes. Hak’s grip loosened and her hand felt onto his lap; then he placed his face into his hands. Yona felt her lips tremble and she bit on them, angrily. She didn’t understand why she became so emotional, but at every second that passed, the throbbing in her chest didn’t subside. Suddenly, Yona blurted out without a thought:
“Do you not like me?” As quickly Yona emitted those words, regret also quickly covered her expression. Hak’s shoulders tensed, but then it started trembling. Yona’s remorse deepened as she stared at his quivering torso.
“Hak, I’m so sorry,” Yona choked. “That was really inappropriate for me to say. I kissed you suddenly, without knowing if you’re comfortable with it or not. And I -,”
Her voice trailed off when Hak uncovered his face and started laughing. Yona gaped at him in astonishment as he continued chuckling. Despite the situation they were in, his smiling face brought a bit of happiness towards Yona.
“W-wait, why are you laughing?”
Hak gave her a lopsided-smile, full of mischief; but also pain. “Princess, you have no idea how much I like you.” Then he brought his face closer towards her, the shadows on his face becoming closer. The heat of his gaze trailed down her body, which made Yona shiver. Hak’s nose brushed alongside her neck and Yona resisted the urge to gasp. His lips suddenly made contact with her ear - it was wet and soft. Yona didn’t try to suppress the noise this time.
“But too bad your definition of like and mine are different,” his voice was silky against her ear, and it made Yona’s body heat up. The warmth suddenly disappeared as Hak moved back, his face back to being nonchalant. Yona’s eyes widened, a thought escaping into her mind.
“What do you mean,” she started, not believing his words. “Your definition of like is different from mine?”
Does that mean...?
“It means...” Hak commenced, tilting his face towards her. His dark eyes glinted against the moonlight. But then he shook his head. Yona gripped his sleeve, determination set on her features.
I like you, Hak. But not the way you’re thinking. Please Hak, believe me. You like me too, right? Hak?
Yona opened her mouth, but then closed it. She squeezed her eyes shut - no matter how much she wanted to tell him, she couldn’t bring herself to say it.
“Tell me, what do you mean?” Yona’s voice was barely above a whisper. She couldn’t believe what was happening. Does Hak like her? She stared at his face, scrutinizing for confirmation to her thoughts, but his face was aloof.
Silence.
“Hak...?”
He began to stand up, but Yona followed his movements. Behind him, she fisted the fabric of his blue overcoat. She rested her forehead on his back; feeling his muscles tense. “Hak, I like you.”
No, not like. She loves him.
“I think we already established that,” Hak’s tone was surprisingly sardonic. “Since you’re feeling so affectionate, why don’t you go wake up the others and say how much you like them, too?”
“You’re wrong!” Yona yelled, but her mouth was muffled by his back. “You’re wrong, Hak...”
Suddenly, he swirled around, gripping her shoulders. His face was tense and his eyes were fiery - Yona felt the warmth of his body surrounding her, blanketing her from the cold air. They were so close, Yona could almost feel the silent exhales from his mouth. The ridges of his muscles were hard against the curves of her body. Hak tilted Yona’s chin, so their gazes met each other. Intense emotions swirled in his eyes.
“What am I wrong about? It’s the truth.”
No.
“Go back, I don’t want to see you. You’re going to get sick from the cold.”
No.
Mistaking Yona’s desperate expression as a sign of her being offended, Hak gave her a chaste kiss on the forehead. “I’m sorry for being rude, princess. It’s in my nature; go back to sleep. We have a long day tomorrow.”
“Hak, I was lying about before,” Yona suddenly whispered. He froze, staring at her. “I didn’t kiss you as a sign of friendship. I love you.”
Pause.
Hak bellowed out with laughter; tears formed at the corners of his eyes. He wiped them off with his knuckles. “That was really funny. Okay, enough time for jokes, go to sleep.”
“Hak, I love you,” Yona uttered, more forcefully. Hak’s eyes widened at her serious tone. He stumbled forward, clasping his hands on her wrists.
“Yona, are you okay? Are you sick?”
What can she do to make him understand?
“I’m not sick,” Yona spoke, quietly. She leaned forward, her nose brushed against his. Hak’s eyes suddenly became hooded and his breathing became ragged. He wasn’t the only one - Yona also became flustered. “I love you, Hak.”
“Is this a dream?” His voice was low, and he licked his lips. Yona followed the gesture with her eyes and the shine of his saliva on his lips made her toes curl.
“No, Hak. I love you,” she said, then repeated with a giggle. “I love you, Hak. I love you, I love you.”
Saying those three words made Yona’s heart soar. She dropped her wrists from his hold and held his face; staring into his confused eyes. “I love y -”
Her words got cut off by the crush of his lips.
She emitted a noise of surprise, but she slowly relaxed into the kiss. It was soft and gentle, and it made Yona’s eyelashes and heart flutter. Hak trailed his right hand up her arm; leaving a path of scorching heat as it grew closer to her neck. All Yona felt was him and him only. The kiss suddenly became more heated, and Yona moaned into the kiss, which made Hak freeze. She quickly pulled away, not because she didn’t like it, but the kiss was too intoxicating. It was too intense - she didn’t know if she would be able to handle it.
“H-Ha -,”
“I want to hear you moan more,” Hak’s tone was suddenly dangerous and seductive. His predatory expression suddenly appeared again, and he looked down at her with lidded eyes; his hair masking of them. He looked incredibly sexy, and it made Yona feel overwhelmed. Suddenly, she registered his words.
“S-Stop, Hak,” Yona whispered. She tried to escape, but Hak pushed her lower back so she was pressed against him. Yona felt everything. She felt his muscles, she felt the pounding of his heart, she felt his warmth. Everything about him was heady and rousing.
And that’s why she needed to get away - she doesn’t think she’ll be able to handle him and his come-hither gazes and animalistic looks.
“I love you, that’s all I needed to say.” She stated, pouting. Yona put her hands on her hips and with unwavering passion - she started to walk away before she could change her mind.
“Oh, no you don’t,” Hak grabbed her elbow and pulled her into his chest. He pressed his lips against her ear; Yona felt the familiar feel of them - wet and soft. A shiver trickled down her spine, making her body tense He mumbled, his tone sultry. “I said I want to hear you moan again, you’re not leaving until I hear it.”
“Hak, you’re so mea - ah!” Yona gasped as she felt him bite her earlobe. Her legs gave out, and Hak quickly supported her petite body against him. Suddenly, he started to suckle on it, making Yona pant. All she could hear was the wet sucking sounds of his lips and the patterns he was tracing with his tongue. Despite this, she felt her mouth quirk up into a trembling smile as she heard him whisper in her ear.
“I love you, too, Yona.” Hak muttered, then softly kissing the tip of her ear. “I always have.”
Yona looked back to give him a sincere smile and a response - but it was met with his mouth rising into a slow, lewd smirk. His gaze was dark under his eyelashes as he stared at her. Yona’s smile dropped and she gave him an unimpressed look.
“Hak, we were having a loving moment, why do you have to look like that? I don’t like it.”
Yona didn’t know why she lied, but she didn’t bother correcting her mistake. She had enough of his teasing.
“Hmm, you don’t like it? Let’s see about that.” He said, then he kissed her ear again. “Shh, just enjoy it.”
Yona listened.
Hak pressed his thumb on her chin and tilted it so their lips could make contact. Yona closed her eyes, waiting for the pressure of his soft lips. But nothing came - so she annoyingly opened her eyes and he was staring at her, smiling. Yona opened her mouth, but the glint in his eyes made her close it back. Hak leaned forward and his tongue peeked out, dragging it on her bottom lip. Yona tried to open her mouth to kiss him, but Hak squeezed both her cheeks to keep them closed. He bit her bottom lip, earning a gasp from Yona, and began sucking on it like he did with her earlobe.
“Hak,” Yona moaned.
Hak groaned. “Ah, say it louder.” Then he thumbed her bottom lip, so her mouth opened all the way. Unconsciously, his own lips parted, breathing on them. Yona shivered; both their breaths meeting each other in the open air. “Say it while you’re panting.”
Yona felt her cheeks flush. “Wha -.”
Hak gave her a seductive grin. “I guess I have to make it happen.” Then he spoke, softly. “Not that I mind.”
“Oh, hey, Yona dear!” Suddenly, a bright and deep voice emerged from behind Yona. Hak broke his gaze away from the princess, and when he looked behind her, his happy mood instantly deflated. Hak gave the interloper an irritated glower as he grew closer. Yona blinked in surprise at the sound of the voice and looked back.
Jae-Ha was smiling from ear to ear, and his hand waved in the air. “Oh, look it’s Thunder Beast, too! What are you both doing here?” Then he winked. “I’m joking, I’m joking. A little endeavor of love, I see. Shall I leave you to it, then?”
Yona spluttered. “No, no, w-we were just talking.” Then she looked at him in confusion. “Wait, why are you here?”
“Just a night piss,” Jae-Ha grinned, then he leaned in towards Yona. “Can you tell Thunder Beast over there to stop glaring at me, he’s scaring me.” He pouted, but then gave the glowering Hak a wink.
“Jae-Ha, I’m going to kill you.”

Captured
Pairing: Reader x Son Hak
Genre: Hurt/Comfort
He knows he shouldn’t have let her out of his sight, especially in such an unfamiliar area.
Masterlist
Tumblr media
The rope digs into her wrists harshly, and she can tell that they’ve broken skin by the stinging. Sitting against one of the walls in the dingy basement, all the can do is glare at her captors in disgust.
“Should a lady really be bestowing such a foul expression?” One of the five men in the room sneers, walking over and kneeling in front of Y/N. She fights the urge to recoil and shrink back. She wouldn’t let these men know she was afraid.
“People like you don’t deserve anything but.” She spits out, squirming on the spot in an attempt to get her hands loose.
A sharp crack, followed by a muffle cry and a stinging pain send her head to the side, the blow to her face clearly going to leave a bruise.
“We may need to teach you some manners.” The man continues, grabbing her chin and wrenching her face to meet his gaze. Y/N doesn’t back down, glaring at him with hateful eyes. Her hands are shaking behind her back and she wants nothing more than to see her friends again...to see Hak again, because Hak was definitely more than a friend now.
They had gotten separated while taking on a group of bandits in a town near the border. She remembers how hesitant Hak was to leave her side and assist the others. He rarely left her unguarded as it was, and the one time he does leave...well.
This wasn’t the most ideal situation. She does know, however, that her friends would come for her. That’s the one thing she’s confident in.
That confidence is anything but fake.
Before she can retort, there’s a distant sound of raised voices and the clinking of metal echoes through the hall leading to the room. The man releases her and glances back at the door, eyes narrowed. He signals the other 4 men in the room to go an investigate.
Grave mistake on his part, really.
The moment the men open the door, they’re thrown back into the room, crashing against the opposite wall. Looking up tiredly, Y/N can’t help but sigh in relief at the familiar figure.
“It’s hard to breath underground, you know.” Hak says, and although his tone is even, his eyes show absolute fury, darkening as they find her and the state she's in. They find home for a few seconds on the bruise forming on her cheek and Y/N can tell this wouldn't end well for the men.
“Step away from her. Now.” He raises his glaive at the ready and the captor, who quickly realises all his other men are unconscious, reaches behind him and yanks Y/N up and in front of him. She yelps at the sudden harsh movement, wincing as the rope digs further into her wrists.
“Let me pass, or this woman dies.” Her breath hitches at the feel of cool metal at her throat.
Hak looks at the scene, jaw clenching. His eyes lock with hers for a second and with the most minuscule nod, both of them make a sudden move.
Y/N uses her foot to kick at the man’s knee, sending him to the ground, the knife brushing against her neck. The blade never cuts her though, as Hak is by her side in a flash, hand clamped down onto the mans wrist. Easily twisting the knife out of his hand and pulling her against him in one swift movement, Hak easily knocks the man out with a single blow.
The sudden silence in the room only lasts a few seconds, before Y/N finally relaxes and sighs. She wobbles, unsteady on her feet after hours of being held captive. She about to pitch forward, but is stopped by Hak, who wraps his arms around her, doing quick work of untying her hands.
The hug is tight and warm and Y/N can’t help but clutch onto the back of his robes, burying her face in his chest. She missed him. It was hard being strong and brave for so long and she just wanted to see him, to touch him again. It felt like forever since she's gotten to be near him.
“This was my fault. I shouldn’t have left you alone. Forgive me.” He mumbles, arms tightening around her.
It had been utter hell being away from her, not knowing if she was safe or even alive.
“No, I asked you to. The others needed help.” She shakes her head, letting herself melt in his grasp.
She can hear her friends voices down the hall. Hak must have left them to deal with the other bandits. Pulling away gently, she attempts to peer around Haka and into the hallway, but is stopped by him grabbing her wrists.
He stares at her bloody hands, eyes narrowed and jaw clenched. If only he hadn’t been foolish enough to leave her, or even been quicker to get to her. The soft intake of breath when his fingers brush against the wound snaps him back.
“We’ll get Yoon to look at this.” He says and the way he holds her hands are as it they’re made of glass. Precious and delicate, something that only the most worthy would be able to touch. He knows she’s anything but fragile, but it’s the instinctive need to protect and keep her safe that makes him loath the idea of anybody who wishes her harm touching her.
“Thank you for coming.” Her voice breaks through his thoughts once again, and when he meets her eyes, he feels like the breath has been knocked out of him. Although he’s pretty much mastered how to conceal it, she always makes him feel like he can't breath around her, his heartrate always just a tad bit faster.
“Of course. I’ll always come for you.”
It’s that simple truth that makes her smile, varying degrees of red colouring both their faces.

Tumblr media
The forest is quiet as you weave through the dense underbrush, your hands skilfully plucking at the delicate leaves of a healing herb nestled in the shade. The sun filters through the green above, and for a moment, you take in the peace of nature, away from the bustling energy of the village. It's not every day you get the chance to help restock the supplies of your mother’s pharmacy, even though you’re always more than happy to help.
After all, collecting herbs means at least a few minutes of peace, a few minutes away from your mother’s desperate attempts to match you up with a random man. You know she only wants your best. After all, your father is the love of her life. It’s only natural for mothers to wish for that happy ending for their daughters, right?
You can’t help but grimace. Marrying a jerk from your village isn’t exactly your vision of a happy ending, though. If it was for you, you’d be happy enough by becoming a pharmacist just like your mother while getting to train with your father from time to time.
A pharmacist…That bouquet of moonshade bloom looks exceptionally good today. Its healing properties will be of great help for your father when he finally returns home-
Your focus on the herbs is abruptly shattered when the sound of rustling leaves catches your attention. Did someone follow you? Your mother, by any chance? No, you are the only one who knows about that secret place, the only villager who comes here. But who…?
You glance up, fingers tightening around the handle of the small blade strapped to your waist. Your father told you over and over that a knife can be a dangerous weapon in the right hands, that you should never use its powers carelessly.
A group of rough-looking men steps into view, their eyes narrowing as they spot you. Your heart drops to the floor, fierce eyes following each and every step. This can’t be good. This definitely means trouble.
“Well, well,” one of them drawls, smirking as his gaze sweeps over you.
“What’s a pretty thing like you doing out here all alone?”
You straighten, willing yourself to appear unfazed.
“Just minding my business,” you reply evenly, your hand inching closer to the hilt of your sword.
“And I advice you to do so as well.”
But they don’t seem inclined to leave it at that. No, instead, one steps even closer, his grin widening in a horrendous way.
“We’ll take real good care of you. No need to be shy.”
Your heart pounds as they close in, and though you’re confident in your skills, you know you’re outnumbered. That won’t stop you from giving it your all. Little do they know you aren’t a shy and weak girl from a nearby village. No, you are the daughter of a captain who serves under the crown itself. He never cared about the fact that you are a girl, always trained you like a son. Exactly for moments like these.
Just as your fingers wrap around your blade, a blur of movement descends from the trees.
“Now, now,” a unfamiliar, teasing voice cuts through the tension.
“Is this the part where I ask if I’m interrupting something?”
The men freeze, startled by the sudden interruption. Your head snaps up toward the source of the low and somehow taunting voice, your grip on your blade tightening. A tall figure emerges from the shadows of the trees, moving with the grace of someone who has seen far too many battles.
He’s tall, there’s no doubt in the fact that he’s quite muscular underneath the dark cloak he’s wearing. His strikingly blue eyes flick to you briefly, his smirk cocky and self-assured, before settling on the men again.
Who on earth is he?
“Interrupting? Not at all,” one of the bandits sneers, regaining his composure.
“But this isn’t your business, stranger. Why don’t you move along?”
The man chuckles, an easy, confident sound that only serves to irritate the bandits further.
“Oh, but you see, I just can’t help myself when it comes to damsels in distress. It’s a weakness of mine.”
“Damsel in distress?”, you hiss through gritted teeth
You bristle, ready to argue that you’re no damsel, but the situation is too tense to waste time on resentment. Besides, the stranger’s interruption has bought you a moment to steady yourself, and you intend to use it.
The bandit leader narrows his eyes.
“You’ve got a death wish, pal.”
“Maybe,” the man replies casually, lifting his glaive off his shoulder and twirling it with practiced ease.
“But I’ll still take my chances over yours.”
Without warning, one of the bandits lunges at him, a blade drawn. You barely have time to process what happens next - a flash of steel, and the man goes flying backward, clutching his chest and groaning in pain while you didn’t even manage to pull out your knife in the meantime.
The stranger doesn’t stop there. He moves like lightning, his glaive cutting through the air in wide, precise arcs that force the other bandits to scatter.
And you? You just watch him like a fool with your mouth open.
“You lot really are a disappointment,” he comments with a mocking sigh.
“Is this what passes for banditry these days?”
One by one, the men fall like rice sacks. Some manage to run, tripping over their own feet in their haste to escape, while others are left sprawled on the ground, groaning in defeat. It’s over in a matter of moments, leaving only you and the stranger standing amidst the chaos.
You are loss at words. Did this…really just happen?
He plants his glaive in the dirt and turns to you, his smirk softening into something almost friendly.
“You alright, Miss?”
Miss…You lower your blade but don’t sheath it just yet. Your eyes narrow as you study him, unsure whether to thank him or demand his intentions. What did he do here anyway?
He doesn’t seem fazed by your caution at all, though. In fact, his grin only widens.
“You’ve got the look of someone who’s about to say, ‘I had it under control,’” he mocks, leaning casually on his weapon.
“I did,” you reply sharply, finally slipping your blade into its sheath.
He chuckles again, the sound low and annoyingly charming.
“Of course you did. I’m sure you would’ve handled it beautifully.”
He tilts his head, a curious glint in his eyes.
“Still, it doesn’t hurt to have a little backup, right?”
“And what do you want for this ‘backup’?” you ask, crossing your arms.
He raises his hands in mock surrender.
“Whoa, easy there. I don’t charge for being a hero. Consider this a freebie.”
You’re unconvinced, but he doesn’t seem malicious. If anything, he looks mildly amused by your wariness.
“You’re not from around here,” you remark, more a statement than a question.
“Caught that, did you?” he replies, clearly entertained.
“You’re right. Just passing through. But I’d hate to think what would’ve happened if I hadn’t.”
His gaze shifts to the bouquet of herbs you’d dropped during the commotion.
“A pharmacist, huh? Or is it an herbalist?”
“Both,” you answer tersely, bending to retrieve the herbs.
You keep one eye on him as you do, unwilling to let your guard down entirely. You hate to admit how mesmerising his fierce eyes look, how inviting those strong arms are.
Inviting…Are you out of your mind?
“Impressive,” he notes, leaning on his glaive again.
“And the blade? That’s not just for show, I take it?”
“My father taught me,” you reply, straightening with the herbs in hand.
“And I can handle myself, thank you very much.”
“I don’t doubt it. But if I hadn’t stepped in, you might’ve been forced to prove it a little too much.”
You bite back a reply, unwilling to give him the satisfaction of rising to his bait.
Hak leans casually on his glaive, his smirk as infuriating as ever. He won’t give up, won’t he?
“You’ve got a lot of fire, Miss Pharmacist. How about actually proving it?”
Your brows furrow.
“Prove it? I don’t have anything to prove to you.”
“Oh, I think you do,” he teases, straightening up.
“Come on, impress me. You’ve got a blade, and from the way you carry yourself, I’d say you know how to use it. Or was that all talk?”
Your jaw tightens. He’s provoking you and you know it, but you’re not about to back down. Not when you’re challenged like that.
“Fine. You asked for it.”
Drawing your knife, you take a step back to create space, your movements fluid and precise. Hak raises an eyebrow, clearly intrigued as you ready your stance.
“Anytime you’re ready,” he announces, spinning his glaive once with a flourish.
You charge forward, swinging low before feinting to the side. He blocks effortlessly, his movements annoyingly smooth. But you’re not done. You hinge, using the momentum to aim a strike at his side. He parries, his smirk widening.
“Not bad,” he admits.
“But you’re going to have to do better than that.”
Gritting your teeth, you change tactics, using a feigned stumble to lure him into an overcommitment. As he steps forward, you twist, sweeping his legs out from under him with a sharp kick. His surprised grunt is deeply satisfying as he crashes to the ground.
You’re about to step back and declare victory when his hand snaps out, grabbing your wrist.
“Not so fast,” he mumbles, yanking you down with him.
The next thing you know, you’re sprawled on the forest floor, half on top of him, his laughter ringing in your ears, his firm muscles rough against your palms.
“You’re full of surprises,” he soothes, his grin entirely too smug despite his current position. “Guess I deserved that.”
“Maybe next time you’ll think twice before underestimating me,” you huff, trying to push yourself up.
Gosh, the feeling of his body against yours almost makes your face flush. You were never this close to a man before, especially not a man like him. He definitely knows how to fight, how to use his body oh so smoothly.
“Next time?”
His grin softens, and there’s a flicker of something warmer in his gaze.
“I’ll look forward to it.”
You roll your eyes, brushing yourself off as you stand with that faint voice in your heart screaming in agony. He rises with ease, dusting off his cloak as though he wasn’t just knocked flat on his back.
“Alright, you win. I’ll admit you’re not half bad. But don’t think this makes us even. I still saved you, remember?”
You let out an exasperated sigh.
“You’re impossible.”
“And you’re irresistible,” he counters smoothly, falling into step beside you.
The banter carries you both out of the forest, and for all his teasing, you can’t deny the warmth his presence brings. For a stranger, he feels oddly… safe. Annoying, but safe.
But you can’t continue like this. If you stay by his side a little longer, you might really for his charm.
“I guess I keep going now. Have a nice journey to wherever you go next”, you finally announce while turning your step into the direction of your home.
“Hey,” he calls after you.
“Not even a ‘thank you’? Tough crowd.”
You glance over your shoulder.
“Thanks,” you bite back, though it comes out more envying than you’d intended.
He laughs, the sound warm and genuine this time.
“You’re welcome, Miss Pharmacist. If you ever need saving again, just yell. I’ll come running.”
You scoff, but can’t quite suppress the small smile tugging at your lips. Whoever this stranger is, you suspect this isn’t the last you’ll see of him.

MINORS DNI 18+ ᶻ 𝗓 𐰁 .ᐟ
HAK is already a big guy, but compared to you he’s a goliath. You’re dwarfed when you sit in his lap, or stand next to him. More than a foot of height difference and the sheer width of his broad shoulders makes you look like nothing, withering away in a high wind. When you’d compared your hand size to him, he curled his fingers around you to the second knuckle. Even clinging onto him your fist wraps around his pinky finger. He’s colossal, larger than life, bigger than any man you’ve ever come across. No one compares to Hak. The Lightning Beast of the Kouka Kingdom is breathtaking as a warrior and your personal bodyguard. A single smoldering look melts the courage of even the bravest of men.
You’re proud of him. You hold your head a little higher when he’s by your side, when he takes up the space in a room, and when his protection looms over you like a great tamed creature. To own Hak in the way you do is a privilege, and one you don’t take lightly. He’s made it known he’s entirely yours.
But you feel like his when you’re in his bed. There’s not a word to describe how light he makes you feel, as weightless as a bird in free fall. Your little body is contorted in every conceivable way: he hoists you by your thighs to dribble you on his cock, controlling the pace you go even while you’re on top; thrown underneath him as he folds you in half, your knees pinned to your ears as he plows your hole open and ready for him; and his seemingly personal favorite, flipping you onto your stomach, shoving your cheek into the mattress as he lays his weight on you, sweetly rutting into you from behind. That hand settles into your hair, spanning your scalp from its width, and his cheek kisses yours. The warmth of both of your breaths are swapped as your chest caves from his mass. Soft groans emit from his parted lips, lost in the pleasure you provide.

A Most Dangerous Game Part II
Tumblr media
Before you read, here’s Part I!
Category: General Fluff, Mild Romantic Fluff
Fandom: Yona of the Dawn
Characters: Soo-Won, Yona, Son Hak
Requested By: farrah87 (Ao3)
Soo-Won's footsteps were muffled by the plush carpet overlaying the stone castle floor. Night had descended over the country's capital; starlight streamed in through the marbled glass windows, painting wave-like patterns of white on the ruby-red fabric stretching through the hall. Most of the castle had retired to bed; only zealous academics and the castle guard roamed at this hour- and Soo-Won, the king with a ticking time bomb.
He sighed pallidly and swept a swathe of his pale blond hair from his face, grimacing when he found the strands clumped with perspiration. I have to be careful not to overexert myself… It won't do for the Crimson Illness to get out, he thought with a small sigh. So easy it was to say that, but so hard to put into practice when Soo-Won had so much to attend to in the shortening period of his life. I have to ensure this country will prosper and thrive after… He didn't finish the sobering thought.
A flash of movement caught his eye. He squinted in the gloom at the window a few yards ahead of him; it creaked as it turned inward, spilling the cool night air into the spacious hallway. Soo-Won's eyebrow cocked as a pair of long legs slipped through the open window, clad in loose tan garments. The king momentarily wondered if an assassination attempt would shatter his daily humdrum. The prospect disappeared as the person jumped down from the sill, flicking his jade-green hair from his face and flashing Soo-Won a confident smirk.
"Well, good evening, Your Majesty." Jae-Ha's voice was like honey, smooth and sweet and unbothered. A pink-faced Kija poked his head through the window next to give the king a frightened look.
"I thought you said we wouldn't be caught?" The white dragon hissed to his comrade as he gracelessly wormed his way down from the window. He landed clumsily on his rump, and crossed his arms to pout at Jae-Ha like it was the taller man's fault. Jae-Ha's smirk remained sharp enough to cleave diamond, while Zeno's head popped into the window next. By this point, Soo-Won was very amused, smiling with a mirthful twinkle in his eyes as he watched the boyish yellow-haired dragon scramble down from the window.
"How lucky are we, to run into Mr. King, huh?" Zeno laughed joyously. Kija had stood up from the ground but was still muttering that they were unfortunate for the unplanned encounter. Shin-ah was silent as he climbed through the window, lithe and quiet like a panther. Ao chittered good-naturedly on his shoulder.
"Is the medicine boy coming, or did he elect to stay home?" Soo-Won joked smugly. His gaze swept over the four dragons who'd snuck into the castle with very little fanfare. He didn't know whether to be impressed with the dragons or concerned with the capabilities of his guards. "I assume you've snuck in to see Yona?"
"That's right." Jae-Ha quipped curtly. Soo-Won had assumed that planning the impromptu lunch meeting would come back to nip him in the rear, but he hadn't quite expected the dragons to commit burglary after only a week. He sighed wearily and pinched the bridge of his nose. They're already here, and I don't exactly think they'll listen to me when I ask them to leave, he thought sourly.
"Very well. I was on my way to my study to retrieve some documents; Yona's quarters are close by, so I'll escort you there. However, I'll only allow you to visit under my supervision," he said firmly. Allowing Yona to see her beloved dragons kept her complacent, but Soo-Won couldn't allow her to push the envelope. If the dragons were brazen enough to sneak into the castle in the dead of night, thoughts of rebellion and mischief wouldn't have much trouble blooming in their minds. Out of his peripheral vision, Soo-Won saw the dark black blob of his shadow guard, Hiyori, peering around the corner. The man wouldn't act now that Soo-Won had expressed his permission, but his presence still left a sour taste in his mouth. Joo-Doh and Kye-Sook will surely hear of this… Groaning, he rubbed his temples as a small headache began to pulse in the front of his skull. So much for not exerting myself.
The dragons were quiet as Soo-Won escorted them through the dark castle hall; they exchanged no words during the five-minute stroll to his study. A pair of braziers smoldered beside the door. He instructed the four of them to wait outside while he retrieved his documents. The hour was late, at least ten or eleven, so he was sure that the princess had retired to her bedchamber. That's why he couldn't stifle the shocked gasp when he closed the door behind him and turned around to see Yona curled into a ball on the floor, sobbing pitifully.
"Yona?!" He crossed the room in three quick strides, falling into a kneeling position beside her. The girl moaned forlornly as he gently placed his hands on her shoulders and peered into her tear-streaked face. "Yona…" As her form relaxed, he spied a small leather-bound book clutched in her arms. Yona offered no resistance as he tugged the book from her grip to peer at the cover. A cold flush flooded through his veins, ice water that left every muscle locked and every nerve screaming. His mother's name was written in neat black ink in the upper right corner. This is… Her memoir, he realized with cold horror. Another ice-cold flush seared through his veins at the realization that Yona had read the diary cover-to-cover. His windpipe constricted inside his throat, but for the sake of the weeping girl before him, he swallowed the anger and fear and despair in favor of smiling weakly.
"Yona," he shushed as he swept her dawn-red hair from her eyes. "Please don't cry."
"I-i wasn't sure what I was expecting," she choked out between wracking sobs. The heels of her palms dug into her eyes, smearing the tears that continued to fall. "But I… Oh, Soo-Won," she lamented. His eyes widened as she abruptly collapsed against him, embracing him in a tight hug. His hands hovered in the air around her head before slowly drifting down to wrap around her petite frame. Yona had treated him so coldly as of late, so to have the girl burying her face into his sternum and tearing into his clothes as if to anchor him to herself was admittedly disorienting. Still a little stunned, his movements were robotic as he rubbed soothing circles into the small of her back. "I just… I can't believe you're going to die."
She whispered the last word, as if uttering it aloud would cause him to collapse then and there.
“Yona,” Soo-Won sighed deeply. The idea of death spilled bitter acid over his tongue, but he ignored it in favor of comforting the distraught princess. He rested his cheek against the top of her head, stroking her short tresses of dawn-red hair. He could offer no words of comfort or refusal, however; the girl was right. Whether he liked it or not, Soo-Won’s flame was flickering it out, slowly but surely. Soo-Won could only reassure her with his presence. He was not dead yet.
The comfort had its intended effect. Gradually, Yona’s sobs quieted into little sniffles. The princess slumped against him, exhausted by her misery. Soo-Won continued to soothingly stroke her back as she fluttered her teary lashes to peer mournfully up at him.
“Soo-Won…”
Fate had a sense of irony, because, in that moment, Soo-Won was gripped by a severe attack. Burning pain blossomed in his skull, and he slumped wholly against Yona. The girl exclaimed as she unexpectedly had to bear the brunt of his weight, and her slim arms wrapped around him to help her shoulder the burden. Soo-Won’s breaths came in heavy, ragged gasps, and his vision flared white as the pain seared through his brain tissue. He whined Yona’s name as darkness encroached on his field of sight. Like all the times before, he had the oddest sensation of becoming weightless; he drifted down, down, down into the dark abyss, and everything fell away…
~~~~~~~~~~
“Soo-Won? Soo-Won!” Yona’s voice cracked with fright as the king slumped against her and quickly slipped into unconsciousness. Her body trembled with the terrible weight of him against her and the fear gripping her body. “Help! Someone, help!” she screamed. Her cries bounced around the small study to pierce her eardrums in shrill, frantic cries. She was nearly hyperventilating when her dragons burst into the door, calling her name and demanding to know what was the matter. Yona’s mind was so disoriented by Soo-Won’s sudden collapse that she didn’t even question why her dragons were in the palace in the first place.
“H-h-h-he just fell limp, just like that, I-i-i-i don’t know w-what’s wrong!” she stammered, words falling off her tongue faster than she could think them. “Oh, Soo-Won, Soo-Won!” The horrible truths contained in Lady Yon-hi’s diary were still fresh on her mind, so in her manic state, she believed that Soo-Won could have literally died right in her arms. Fresh tears streamed down her face in thick, salty streams, and her entire body quaked violently with tremors. Jae-Ha and Shin-ah pulled the man’s body off of Yona, and she screamed again as his head flopped lifelessly against the tall, green-haired man’s chest.
“Princess, Princess!” Kija cried while shaking her shoulder violently. “His Majesty Soo-Won is still alive. Please, calm yourself. He’s only fallen unconscious.” Kija had to repeat the words several times for them to finally breach the barrier of the blood roaring in Yona’s ears. Her eyelashes fluttered as she forced herself down from the frantic high, and sure enough, she could see Soo-Won’s chest rising and falling with deep but labored breaths. “There, now,” her white dragon crooned reassuringly in her ears. “We’ll get His Majesty to his quarters-”
“No!” Yona objected quickly. “Take him to my quarters. It’s much closer- but do it quietly and quickly! Soo-Won’s condition is a secret!” As Jae-ha and Shin-ah supported Soo-Won’s weight between them and slipped out of the study to hurry towards Yona’s bower, the princess followed, nearly tripping over her own feet in her haste. Out of her peripheral vision, she spied the shadow guard assigned to protect the king slip away into the darkness of the castle. Yona didn’t bother calling out to him. His message was the least of her concerns right now.
Yona bustled past the two dragons to scurry to her bed, violently ripping back the comforter. “Here! Put him here,” she commanded, trying to seem authoritative and calm but failing miserably due to the shakiness of her voice. She swiftly covered Soo-Won as they laid him in the bed. When she put the back of her hand against his forehead, the heat rolling off his sweaty skin nearly scalded her. She barked at Zeno to bring her a basin of water and a dishrag. When the immortal dragon did as bid, she wasted no time in saturating the rag with the cool liquid and placing it on Soo-Won’s head. Yona’s wide, red eyes frantically coursed over Soo-Won’s sleeping form to search for something, anything that she could do.
She could do nothing- only sit there and watch, and pray, and weep about her twisted desire to see Soo-Won live despite all he’d done.
~~~~~~~~~~
Joo-Doh came to collect the collapsed king in due time. Her dragons had slipped away in the meantime to avoid retribution. If the shadow guard had told Joo-Doh of their presence, he never mentioned, and no judgment was passed down upon her friends. Yona stayed by the king’s side in the interim. Her feelings still confused her; the childish love she had harbored for the man had blossomed into something stranger and less defined. She knew she didn’t love him like she loved Hak, but… She did love him, in some confusing, mystifying sense. Despite it all, she couldn’t see him die. So she remained with him, holding his hand and cursing the fate that had warped him into the desperate and lonely man he’d become.
Soo-Won recovered by the following morning…
and awoke to pass some surprisingly divisive decrees.
He ordered the 13th company to begin undertaking rigorous training, citing the need for “all troops in the impending war with Kai.” Even more surprisingly, he appointed Hak as the commander of the unit and the overseer for their training. Kye-Sook was livid and vehemently opposed the notion, but Soo-Won coldly shut down his obstruction by recounting Hak’s extensive military accomplishments. The coup de grace came with his final decree- due to Soo-Won’s frail condition, for the time being, the commanders of each unit must report to Yona for the time being. Additionally, Yona would oversee the training of the 13th company, and her dragons would also participate in the drills.
In a bold move that turned his most dangerous game on its head, Soo-Won gave Yona a direct line of access to Hak and her dragons. Yona had no idea what had flipped the switch so suddenly in Soo-Won’s head. She was so accustomed to his carefully crafted plans, his refined and sophisticated scheming, that this outrageously brazen play rocked Yona to her core. She couldn’t comprehend his motives this time, not one bit… But she couldn’t find it within herself to complain.
“Come in.” Her curt order bounced off the walls of her bower following the loud, authoritative knock. Yona was still pretty much confined to her quarters, so the company commanders ventured there to give their daily reports. Many times they acquired where Lord Soo-Won was, and she always politely replied that he was resting because his duties had become taxing as of late. Anticipating this visit as such, she procured a fresh of parchment and her inkwell and quill before patiently awaiting her guest to arrive. She couldn’t help the gleeful smile that alit her face when Hak swiftly entered.
“Good evening, Princess.” His voice dripped from his smirking mouth like the sweetest honey, sending titillating tingles propagating all through her body. Hak crossed the room to kneel in front of her small work desk. Yona half-listened to his report, scrawling brief notes as necessary. Once he finished his statement, she pushed the papers aside with some dull quip thanking him for his services. Hak immediately slumped over the edge of the table, leaning his cheek in his hand and smirking flirtatiously at her. “I really despise all this official stuff,” he sighed melodramatically. “Such a bore.”
“Yes, but you’re commanding the thirteenth company now,” she reminded him poignantly. Hak smiled at her comment; Yona knew it relieved him to hold some position of authority again, especially one that provided him steady access to the princess. However, a frown slowly overtook his pleased features.
“I just don’t get it. What’s his game?” Yona looked down at the table as he posed the very pertinent question. Yona still couldn’t wrap her mind around it- this complicated chess game Soo-Won was manipulating before her eyes. She hadn’t even an idea of how the pieces were arranged- who was a pawn, a rook, a knight, a queen. Soo-Won’s sudden move may have been disorienting, but it didn’t change the fact that he was in almost complete control of the pieces, and slowly encroaching on Yona’s.
“I don’t know,” she sighed wearily. She crawled around the edge of the table to cuddle into Hak, suddenly craving his presence. She usually did when the confusion closed in around her, and she desired nothing more than to escape for just a few brief moments. Hak enveloped her in his big, strong arms. He hugged her to his body and dropped a kiss to the top of her head. “I don’t know,” she repeated. “He has plans for us, but I just can’t fathom what lies in store for us… This is a most dangerous game we are playing, Hak, and I feel like I am losing my cards one by one.”
“Heyyyy,” he crooned and hugged her tighter, as if to shield her from her misgivings. “No matter what happens, Yona, I will protect you,” he swore, his voice deep and harsh with conviction. Despite the impracticality of it, Yona felt her worries melt away. She dissolved into Hak’s gentle embrace, closing her eyes to savor the brief moment of sanctuary he offered her.
It was a most dangerous game between Yona and Soo-Won… And so Yona cherished these brief moments of respite, where she didn’t have to worry about the cards in her hand. Hak took those hands and kissed along her fingertips and knuckles, showering her in love and affection. She didn’t understand Soo-Won’s game at all… but she was grateful for this newest move, because now at least she could be with the person she loved most.

Careful, You’re Extremely Hot!
“Thanks for coming! Have a grand day!” Yona smiles as she hands the customer their coffee with a small note written on the side. ‘Have a brew-tiful day!’ She knows it’s just a quirky little pun but if it can brighten someone’s day, then she would be happy with just that, even if it’s just a small smile. Mornings can be rough for anyone who’s in a rush and in dire need of caffeine to jump start their day. So, Yona was resolved to make sure she added a kind note to each order when she worked.
The Dragon Cafe. Known for its stellar customer service and legendary coffee. The staff always knew how to keep their customers happy and coming back for more. A smile here, a kind gesture there, and to top it off, sweet notes written on their drinks. Yona looked over at the register area where Jae-Ha took the next order. His way of charming the customers always astonished her. He was a natural. The ladies loved him, the men admired him, and even some felt empowered by him. He always knew the right thing to say to a customer, no matter the situation. His self-confidence was one of the things Yona admired. She didn’t envy it, despite her own wishes to have a fraction of it, but it was just part of what made him who he is. And she wouldn’t change it for anything. Jae-Ha had become one of her closest friends working together at the cafe, despite all his charms and teasing he likes to save for Yona to make the girl flustered- a favorite past time of his much to her displeasure. But most of all, it was when he would visit the cafe that Jae-Ha liked to tease her even more. And today was going to be one of those days…
She sees him walk in with his usual buddy at his side. His dark, shaggy hair that nearly covers his bright, blue eyes she could easily pick out from a crowd. The serious look on his face that could freeze anyone in place, but not usually in the way he would hope. Today, he wears a blue V-neck shirt fitted around his long, muscular torso, the color complemented his eyes, and black jeans that were loose around his legs but snug around his hips. Yona couldn’t help but stare as he walks in, nearly forgetting the current latte she was supposed to be making as the pair get in line.
Jae-Ha was standing next to her, watching as she ogled at mister tall, dark, and handsome. A devious smile stretches his lips as he leaned over her shoulder. “Yona…” he kept his voice low but light in a sing-song voice to get her attention. “You’ll catch flies with your mouth open like that. Besides, I don’t think you can froth that much more, darling.” Yona gasped and turned it off, removing the cup before the contents spilled out to move onto the steaming wand. She could still feel him standing over her shoulder with that smug grin on his face, just waiting to tease her about it, but remained silent as she finished the order. The shorter the line gets and the closer the two men get to ordering, Yona can feel tiny pinpricks covering her body and her stomach tighten in knots. It was finally their turn and Yona greeted them with her usual smile.
“Welcome back! What can I get for you two today?” Yona asked cheerfully despite feeling like her body was shaking like a maraca.
“Yona! Don’t you look radiant today! Don’t you think, Hak?” His friend beamed while the dark-haired man tried to not look annoyed.
“Do you have to do this every time? Sorry, Yona, I know how busy you are. I couldn’t believe the line had already reached the door by the time we got here,” Hak said, offering an apologetic smile to her. The softness in his eyes made her feel as if she could melt into a puddle before them.
“Oh no, don’t worry about that. And thank you, Soo-won, you’re too kind as always. So, what shall it be? Trying something new again, today?” She asked looking between the two.
“Just a black coffee for me today, Yona. Make it the strongest you have,” Hak answered.
“And I would love a chai latte if you don’t mind, gorgeous.” Soo-won smiled.
Yona typed in their order trying to keep her eyes trained on the screen in front of her and print the tickets for both drinks. Soo-won was a lot like Jae-ha she had come to realize. Always a flirt. Although, Soo-won seemed more reserved for the ladies and wasn’t as straight forward or as boisterous as Jae-ha’s flair tended to have. The sentiment was sweet but it paled in the way Hak saying her name filled her stomach with butterflies. It was thick and smooth as honey with his tenor voice. Soo-won paid for them both since Hak paid the time before, the two always switching off on who covered their drinks instead of creating separate orders to save on time. Handing him their receipt, she hurried to the coffee bar to get started on their drinks while they walked over to the side to wait. With more coffee brewing and seamlessly moving around her other coworkers, she grabbed two cups and labeled them accordingly. Hak’s wouldn’t take nearly as long to prepare so she sets his next to the coffee pot with a coffee sleeve slid around it and went to work on Soo-won’s. While she prepared the latte, Jae-ha peeked at the order on the other cup and smirked. He pulled a marker from his apron pocket and quickly scribbled a little note, ‘Tall, dark, and strong just like you.’ He set the cup back down and continued on his way for the new orders coming in. Time to get the ball rolling, Yona-dear.
Finally finished with the chai latte, Yona made a small note on the cup. ‘Thanks a latte!’ Since Soo-won paid this time around, it was his turn to get the note on his cup. She liked to make sure they both got one each time they came in so would take turns writing a note between them just as they took turns paying for their order. “Order up for Soo-won!” Yona called. She turned to grab the second drink behind her and held them both out as he met her at the pick-up counter. Soo-won grabbed the drinks from her hands and turned his around to see what note she had for him today.
“Why, thank you a latte as usual,” Soo-won smiled brightly with a wink and a light chuckle. Yona chuckled back and waved him off as he turned to give Hak his drink. “And one large black coffee to match your black soul.”
Hak rolled his eyes and took the drink, grateful to finally have the needed caffeine after a long shift and ignoring the urge to retort. “Let’s just hope this is strong enough to get me through the rest of the day.” He took a sip and sighed. “Perfect.”
Soo-won seemed distracted by something, staring at Hak as if there was something on his face. “What? Something wrong with your chai?”
Soo-won smirked then reached out towards Hak’s drink. He tried pulling it away from the man’s reach but Soo-won just rolled his eyes and tried turning it around in his hand. “Looks like someone gets an extra message now.” Hak stared at the words written on his cup. He never would’ve thought to look had Soo-won not shown him.
“She writes everyone a note.” Hak said plainly not wanting to think about the potential message behind the words. “She probably had a little more time to write one for both of us since we had a simpler order this time.”
Soo-won was unconvinced but decided to sip at his own drink instead of say otherwise. Hak tried to not think about it but his mind kept circling back to it. He’d be lying to himself if he said he hadn’t found the barista attractive. Her short and wavy, red hair framing a cute round face. Not to mention how short and tiny she is was a whole other level of cute. But, it was her smile and the way she went the extra mile to make other people smile that he noticed most and drew him towards her. He turned around just before they left the little cafe to see her taking the next order, her smile shining brighter than anyone else’s. See you tomorrow. He thought with a smile then turned back to follow Soo-won.
---
“Whew! What a day.” Yona wiped her brow with the back of her hand after finishing sweeping. The day had finally reached its end and the little cafe was now empty and quiet. It was strange to not see the normal hustle and bustle that filled the place but the workers took a little bit of peace from it nonetheless.
“Another grand day, you might say?” Jae-ha teased, leaning against the counter he had finished cleaning.
“I think it’s sweet that Yona takes the time to put some thought into her messages for the customers!” Kija countered coming to Yona’s defense.
“It’s alright, Kija. Jae-ha is just teasing,” she smiled at him. Always the sensitive one. Kija never cared for Jae-ha’s flirtatious games or how he enjoyed teasing Yona any chance he got.
“So, what are you going to write on lover boy’s cup tomorrow?” Jae-ha asked, ignoring Kija.
Yona looked over at Jae-ha confused. “Lover boy?” She inquired, trying to think who he could be talking about.
Innocent, sweet child… Jae-ha sighed. “You know, Mr. Tall, Dark and Handsome.” A smirk creeped on his face as her face turned bright red.
“Jae-ha!”
The man just shrugged. “What? Anyone with eyes can see just how gorgeous that man is. And someone has an adorable crush on him.” He waggled his eyebrows at her. Anxiety started twisting her stomach into knots the more flustered she felt. Her body could be set on fire and she probably wouldn’t know the difference with how hot she felt.
“I-I don’t know what you’re talking about,” she turned away in hopes he would drop the subject but she should’ve known better.
“Mhmm… so what was he wearing today?”
Yona looked up as if recalling but a soft smile returned to her face as she could see him as clear as day in her mind’s eye. “He was a bit more casual today than usual, don’t you think? But that blue shirt really brought out his eyes. Made them seem brighter even though he looked more tired today. Sounded like he had just got off from a long shift.” She could feel her face heating up again just thinking about the man but then her body turned stiff. Shoot! How did he- She turned around, her eyes wide as she faced Jae-ha again but his relaxed posture had not changed. It was then Shin-ah emerged from the back with a towel and his apron slung over his shoulder.
“The kitchen is clean,” he informed them before taking in the quiet scene. Yona glaring at Jae-ha who seemed much too relaxed while Kija kept his arms crossed looking a bit disgruntled. He imagined that was also Jae-ha’s doing so he turned his eyes towards the green-haired man.
“See you tomorrow, princess,” Jae-ha winked, pushing himself off the counter as turned to leave while the others finished closing up and ignoring their stares. Yona stood there gaping at him in disbelief that she had fallen into his trap. Tomorrow...she knew there would certainly be more in store for her then...and she wasn’t sure she was quite ready for it.
--
The next day came and they fell back into their normal routine. Occasionally, Yona would glance towards the door to see if a certain someone had arrived yet. The conversation with Jae-ha the day before plagued her mind.
So what if I like him? It’s like he said, anyone can see how handsome Hak is. It’s just a natural attraction… Yona tried convincing herself, but the knots and butterflies in her stomach told a different story. Then just as the lunch rush was coming in, he finally arrived. Yona felt her heart skip a beat as he walked in with Soo-won and a few of his work buddies, all still in their uniforms for the Kouka Fire Department. It wasn’t often she got to see him in his uniform- the button-down shirt neatly tucked into his pants and well-fitted to his muscular frame- hearing how much he hated the formal look it gives. However, she couldn’t help but love this look on him, too.
“Do I need to call them over here to put out a fire?” Jae-ha whispered in her ear, jolting her out of her trance.
“Jae-ha!” She hissed trying to not spill the drink in her hand as she put a lid on it and called out the name of the order. The girl grabbed the drink with a quick thanks then hurried out as Yona wheeled on her coworker. Her cheeks puffed out ready to give him a piece of her mind but he was already back at the register hitting on the next customer. She groaned inwardly and shook her head. With a deep breath to calm back down, she resolved herself and got back to work.
The line steadily moved as orders were taken. Hak and his crew creeped closer to the register to order, and Yona could feel a bead of sweat began to perspire on the back of her neck. Great! Now Jae-ha has me even more flustered! Ugh, just calm down! She tried telling herself, finishing an order of cold brews for a small group of students that came to study. Then, as usual, Jae-ha made sure the rotation of who was taking orders would make sure Yona was next to take Hak’s order.
“Good afternoon! What can I get for you today? I see you have the whole crew with you this time,” Yona smiled as she stood at the register, watching the tall, dark-haired man.
Hak sighed and ran a hand down his face. “Unfortunately… but pay them no mind, they just wanted to tag along. I doubt if they even actually order. Blame Soo-won, he’s kind of a pushover when it comes to letting people stick around to talk.” He gave her one of his rare smiles not knowing the effect it had on her.
Yona swallowed past the lump about to form in her throat and gave a light chuckle. “Oh, don’t worry about it! So, what shall it be today?”
He rattled off his and Soo-won’s order since the blond was too busy in deep conversation with one of the lady firefighters, insisting that she get a drink from here as well. Yona handed Hak his receipt after finishing the order with a sweet smile and couldn’t help but notice the way his fingers for a split second had brushed over hers when grabbing the receipt from her hand. The warmth sent tiny sparks through her fingers and made its way down her arm. With a small blush she kept hidden behind the wall of coffee blenders, makers, and other machines, she focused on the order at hand. She took Hak’s cup, wrote ‘Have a brew-tiful day!’ on the side, set it down, and turned to work on Soo-won’s. Jae-ha passed behind her to start on a mocha latte and glanced at the note she chose for Hak. Quickly, he made a couple of marks near the bottom of the cup and then continued with his task. Yona came back, finished both drinks then went to the pick up counter.
“Order up for Hak!” Even saying his name stirred the butterflies. He walked up to the counter and reached for both cups.
“Thanks, Yona,” he said with a smile. “Have a good one.”
Yona returned the smile with a nod. “You too, Hak. See you next time!”
Hak felt his heart skip a beat as she smiled up at him. It was the same thing every day, yet… would it continue to stay that way? Before he made a bumbling fool of himself, he turned away to take Soo-won his drink. “Here.” He said holding the cup out to the blond.
“Oh, why thank you,” Soo-won grabbed the drink and took a sip, while eyeing his friend. “So… what message did you get today?” He smirked from behind his cup but his eyes hid nothing.
Hak rolled his eyes and lifted the cup to read the message. “‘Have a brew-tiful day,’ there you happy?” But his eyes noticed something more. Just below the message, a pen had marked through parts of the warning label on the cup. Careful, the beverage you’re about to enjoy is extremely hot. His face warmed up and his hand immediately covered the message back up as he took a drink. He tried to play it off like nothing out of the norm had happened, not wanting to give Soo-won the satisfaction.
Soo-won was no fool. He knew Hak better than anyone, probably even better than the man knew himself. Despite being a normally quiet guy, he was acting a bit different and a little too quiet after he read the message on the cup. “Anything else?” Soo-won couldn’t help but ask. “Nothing to follow up from yesterday’s note, perhaps?”
Now, the rest of their group had their attention drawn to their conversation. Hak glanced at each one of them then rested back on Soo-won’s smug grin. That look was enough to help Hak compose himself. He straightened his shoulders and relaxed as he took another sip. “Nope. Looks like you were wrong, as much as you hate to hear it.” He said casually then proceeded to walk past him letting the rest follow behind. Despite his words being said to Soo-won, he couldn’t ignore the fact he was eating his own words. Don’t I want to be wrong, though?
Yona watched them as Hak leads the small crowd out the cafe doors while Jae-ha huffed behind her. She turned around seeing a rather agitated and perplexed look on his face. “Everything alright?” She asked the man.
He rubbed his chin, still looking at the front entrance while mumbling under his breath. “There’s no way he didn’t see it, so why didn’t he… Hmm…”
Yona couldn’t seem to get a proper response out of him and wasn’t sure what he was even mumbling about. She looked back at the door wondering what had Jae-ha so fixated, but it wasn’t long until her mind wandered back to a familiar face. If only things were different… maybe I’d have the courage to tell you how I really feel.
The next few days mirrored the same. Busy days at the Dragon Cafe, Yona taking Hak and Soo-won’s orders while Jae-ha continued with his plans to help unite the pining couple. His attempts seemed futile as neither said anything more to the other, namely Hak since Yona had been kept in the dark all this time. However, that all changed one day when Zeno’s shift changed with Kija’s. Zeno came in as cheery as ever tying the apron around his waist.
“Another brew-tiful day, yeah?!” He grinned with a chuckle. Walking past Yona and Jae-ha to man the drive-through window, he saw the next order sitting near the pick up counter. Reading the label, he noticed the note Jae-ha had already written. His eyes widened as he jumped up and bounced over to Yona. “The little miss finally did it?! You finally confessed?”
Yona freezed in her path and turned towards the small blond. “W-What? What are you talking about?!” She panicked and quickly moved over to him to see what she may have accidentally written. It’s supposed to be Soo-won’s turn, did I somehow write on Hak’s instead? But wait, why would Zeno think- Her eyes grew twice their size and looked around to see Jae-ha trying to act a little too casual. “Jae-ha…” she hissed trying to keep the blush from darkening her cheeks.
The culprit in question sighed and pushed his long green bangs out of his face before walking over to her. “Look, I just wanted to try to help. I thought he would’ve at least said something to you by now and make the next move but-”
“Jae-ha…” the color drained from her face, “what do you mean by that? Why would he…” The wheels in her head turned and she clutches her chest. “You mean this isn’t the first time?! How long have you been doing this?” Panic was setting in. Her breathing shallowed into quick short bursts. Jae-ha put his hands on her shoulders, forcing her to look at him.
“Yona.” His voice was direct but gentle as his eyes stared into hers. “It’s going to be okay. Look, if he didn’t feel the same way about you then he wouldn’t be in here every day like clockwork. And I see the way he looks at you. It’s the same way you look at him.” He paused to give her a small smile. “I just want you to be happy, dear.”
Shin-ah came out from the kitchen to refill the pastry case only to see Yona in a panic with Jae-ha trying to comfort her. He set down the tray of baked goods and walked over to make sure everything was alright. Yona watched as Shin-ah approached with his quiet demeanor and then looked at Zeno who still smiled warmly. Then she looked back into Jae-ha’s eyes. The calm confidence they held mixed with his calm voice and seeing her friends to surround her in support helped ease Yona and brought her breathing to be more leveled again. She gulped a big breath of air and released it slowly, nodding to Jae-ha and the others she was alright now.
“We all want the little miss to be happy.” Zeno chirped in with a bright smile before setting the headset on his head and turning away from the pair. Shin-ah nodded in agreement and gave her one of his rare smiles then also retreated back to his duties, leaving her in Jae-ha’s capable hands. However, that didn’t last long either.
“Is everything alright?” A voice sounded from behind her. If she didn’t already know that voice so well, the look on Jae-ha’s face certainly gave it away. His smile turning slightly smug then gave her a wink before turning her around to face the source of the voice. Yona swallowed dryly but managed to give him a smile.
“Sorry, yes everything is fine. Um, oh! Here’s yours and Soo-won’s order.” She tried covering up the awkward situation by handing him the two to-go cups. Her eyes caught the message on Hak’s drink and felt her face warm up again. Hak reached for the cups but his eyes stayed trained on her, his expression concerned.
“Are you sure you’re alright?” He asked setting the cups down. “You don’t seem like you feel well.”
His concern for her warmed her heart and tightened the knots already formed in her stomach. She pressed her lips together, taking a deep breath through her nose as she looked up at him. Just do it. You can do it! Jae-ha’s right...right? No, forget about that. Focus!
“I like you a latte!” She blurted out to him then realized she just said the message Jae-ha had written on Hak’s cup rather than try to explain the current situation to the man before her. Her face turned two shades brighter red than her own hair as fear and embarrassment reflected through her eyes at him. His cheeks turned a bit red and she worried that she had just embarrassed him, too but then he covers his mouth with his hand. He mumbled something she couldn’t quite make out then he removed his hand revealing a sly grin she had yet to see on his face before. Liquid fire burned through her stomach and now she questioned herself if she really even had seen a blush on his face or not mere seconds ago.
“Are you always so articulate? I didn’t realize puns were more than just part of the job,” he teased her leaning against the counter between them. Her jaw dropped. She didn’t expect this kind of response and she didn’t know how to reply back. What was she doing again? Her thoughts short circuited as she stood there gaping at him. His hand reached out and a single finger tucked under her chin lifting her jaw up to close. The simple touch brought fire to the rest of her face. Maybe he needs to put out a fire after all, her mind couldn’t help but wander back to Jae-ha’s comment a few days ago. “Don’t tell me you’re a loss for words now. And here I thought we were finally making progress.” Hak winked at her, withdrawing his hand.
Yona felt as if her entire body turned into a blazing inferno. Her thoughts have turned to ash and her throat dried up, unable to do anything but silently scream on the inside.
“Why is this line so backed up?!” A voice rang out and the sound of a large door shutting close. “Yona!”
The woman squeaked and turned around to see Yun, their manager, standing at the end of the coffee bar on the other side of Jae-ha. “Sorry!” she apologized then quickly turned back to Hak handing the drinks back to him he had set down. With a smile and finally out of her daze, she found the lost words she needed. “I get off at 5.”
Hak grabbed the drinks from her once again but leans in close, dropping his voice. “I’ll be here,” he straightened back up and just before turning away, he added, “I hope you like ramen!”
Yona watched as he walked away and handed Soo-won his drink, the butterflies stirring crazy in her stomach. I...have a date!
“Yona!’ Yun called out to her again as Jae-ha tried to keep from laughing.
“Right! Coming!” She called back and hurried to the register to help the next customer. Her smile shining a little bit brighter for the rest of her shift and a happy bounce in her step. It certainly was a brew-tiful day.
