I think I agree, that's a good point, I suppose I was imagining other continents besides Avistan, Casmaron, South/Central Garund, or Arcadia could stand to be fleshed out more IMO. I feel like homebrewing some noncanon nations that fit with the overall "theme" and milieu of those places could be a cool creative exercise!

But actually which nation from the inner sea would you choose to cut out and replace if you did want to spice up the sociopolitical dynamics there?

Andoran! Replace it with a country with a culture more inspired by Haiti and smaller communist states instead of colonial America. I just... really dislike how Andoran is a regurgitation of the mythologized America Land of the Free in a fantasy setting, down to the Bald Eagle of Pure Good being its patron. The irony that the country that most actively opposes slavery in the Inner Sea is explicitly based on colonial America is just... hair pulling. At least we have the River Kingdoms, which are cool and I love and also afforded a lot more moral grayness. (On that subject, Galt being "boy wasn't the French Revolution nasty?" feels a bit ugh, especially when the American Revolution Country gets to be the beacon of Good in that area)

I also kinda feel like the Land of the Linnorm Kings and the Realm of the Mammoth Lords feels a bit redundant, but I haven't delved too far into their lore.

RÉGINE CHASSAGNE – KANPE CO-FOUNDER

Régine Chassagne was born in Montreal. Her parents, born in Haiti, fled the dictatorship of François Duvalier in the ’60s.

Régine and Dominique Anglade co-founded KANPE with the goal of bringing the diaspora and friends of Haiti together to develop customized solutions to empower the neediest Haitian families to become autonomous.

Régine is also the co-founder of the Montreal independent band Arcade Fire. Acclaimed by critics throughout the 2000s, Arcade Fire has been nominated for multiple Grammys, and won Album of the Year in 2011 for The Suburbs.

Since the beginning of her career, Régine has used her voice to speak for Haiti. A song titled “Haiti” appeared on the first Arcade Fire album, Funeral, released in Fall 2004.

Arcade Fire has donated $1 per ticket, both to Partners In Health and KANPE for every concert since 2005. To date, Arcade Fire has raised over $3 million for Haiti, trained thousands of volunteers and signed up over 40,000 fans.

Régine supports many initiatives for Haiti, small and large.

Florida playlist

Are they still counting the votes in Florida, Nevada and...speaking of Florida. I made a Florida playlist and last Xmas, I updated it, added songs to it for my trip across the state. I visited Daddy Kool Records in Saint Petersburg, Wax Records in Vero Beach and St Pete Records. But in the hire car, this was my playlist across Florida. Made the road trip that much more awesome. hey when i search for werewolf stuff on this dumb site could i find,,, more things related to deeply written humans who are torturously turned into uncontrollable beasts that are traumatized by their curse,,, and,, less furry shit? thanks.

like PLEASE werewolves are so cool and interesting to write/read about the whole concept of them is just great and has so much wild depth to work with from stories around the world from Lycaon the ancient King of Arcadia who was cursed by Zeus, to Remus Lupin, who did not live for all his 38 years of self hatred and wishing he could be anything but what he was for this nonsense.

In Hungarian folklore, it was thought that the ability to change into a wolf was obtained as a child, after suffering parental abuse or by being cursed.

In Haiti, there’s a superstition that werewolf spirits known as Jé-rouge can possess the bodies of unwitting people and nightly transform them into cannibalistic creatures. 

In Greece, there was a belief that the corpses of werewolves, if not destroyed, would return to life in the form of wolves which would prowl battlefields, drinking the blood of dying soldiers.

In the Norse Volsunga Saga, there’s the idea that donning magic wolfskins could forcibly turn you into a wolf yourself, quickly becoming unaware of who you are and hunting down and killing humans without a thought.

In some rural areas of Germany, Poland and Northern France, it was once thought that people who died in mortal sin came back to life as blood-drinking wolves. They would revert back to human corpses at daylight.

In numerous region’s superstitions satanic rituals turned people into werewolves, but, interestingly, christian saints were said to have the ability to transform people into werewolves as well- as a form of divine punishment. St. Patrick was said to have done this to a king named Vereticus.

Then there’s the Beast of Gévaudan, which pretty much set the stage for defining modern day werewolf fiction and folklore. Silver bullets, all that.

Like pls there’s so much to work with there but people just gotta post weird shit. Don’t make one of the most interesting persistent legends throughout history an anime sex thing god please.

"Daily, I slice bread with my maternal grandmother’s bread knife. Neither beautiful nor valuable—its handle scored white melamine, its wide serrations still sharp—it connects me to my mother’s hands (that used this knife) and to my grandmother’s hands (smaller than my mother’s, arthritic already when I was born); to my grandmother’s kitchen, beloved in my childhood; and to the long-ago morning light that filtered through the sunroom into that kitchen, in a long-sold house, in a far-off city. All this is present when I take it up and tackle a loaf. No other knife will do. Matisse, unsurprisingly, had similar feelings about the objects of his daily life. They delighted, inspired, or confounded him, in their humble ordinariness and in all that they evoked: a chocolate pot, a green glass vase, a pewter jug, embroidered hanging cloths (haitis) from North Africa, masks and figurines from sub-Saharan Africa, a brazier, a marquetry coffee table, a low-slung chair. ..."
