Moyo's Great Big Afterglow Default Project

HOORAH! 🥳Finally I can share with you guys! There's a lot to get through here so some notes beforehand.

There are way, way too many hairs to list and people to credit. See everything that's included and who all deserves credit in the spreadsheet I made for this project!

Not every hair is replaced! I don't know much about hidden clone hairs, for example. Some of them are replaced if the default I used as a base included them but most probably are not.

I chose to hide a bunch of the OFB hats and whatnot when I was starting to get burnt out of this project. See what hairs I've hidden on the hiders tab of the spreadsheet. Hiders are not included, but there's a link to them.

There's a few defaults I'm using from loosiap, rudhira and seabens. They are not included, see those in the defaults by others tab of the spreadsheet.

I use a bunch of no/random npc hair mods so not all npc hairs are replaced. See those in the no/random npc tab of the spreadsheet.

I use custom turn ons that change the one for hats so a lot of the hat hairs are replaced with non-hat hairs. I think most of the flags in simpe are changed to non-hat too but not positive - some might still be hat flagged.

Defaults where all I did was change the texture that didn't contain extra ages include them in a separate file because I didn't want to add them to the main file and mess anything up. Defaults done by me have them included in the main file.

Nearly every default has extra ages, but a few do not.

The Notes column of the spreadsheet mostly contains notes I wrote for myself regarding the custom versions of hairs I retextured (which will all be uploaded) but some of them do apply to the default too. I'm so brain fried though so I'm leaving it in the sheet. You can generally ignore - or read them if you want!

Defaults are in their own folders, and include a pic of the hair they're replacing and a pic of what they're replaced with...if the kind people on the default database are bored.

I'd never made a default replacement for hair before this so if any of these are not made in the best, most optimal way, apologies. I was learning as I went!

PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE reach out if you notice any wonkiness. This was worked on over 3 of the most stressful months of my life so I'd not be surprised if I screwed anything up. Also if I forgot to mention anything in this post that you'd like to know, don't hesitate to ask that too!

High-End Loft Stuff Stuff Pack Default Replacement Hair Edits

Finally releasing these... Thank you for all your patience! I think these were among the first I edited back when I started doing this, but I was never quite happy with how the hairs were, and I think they're where I like them now.

Matthew Hamming was kind enough to take time out of his busy schedule to model the three looks you can expect with before/afters, of course.

Details:

Default replacement for teen to elder males. You must have the expansion pack installed for these to work as they only replace what exists in your game! Place in your overrides folder to install. :)

Replaces meshes (all LODs) (I have @ifcasims’s default retextures installed and they’re neat!) Any default replacement retextures will still work.

Compressorized | Custom Thumbnails  (using the previews above – you can customize or delete these if you’d like with s3pe 🙃)

Notes:

Have the same/similar polycounts as the originals.

Any default replacements or default recategorization mods will not work with these mods! Anything that edits the CASP resources, basically. Please reach out if you have any questions.

Happy Friday everyone! I've been lazy (what else is new) so I have three defaults to upload today. I don't usually put multiple on one post but again, I'm lazy lol. Creators are @goatskickin and @miniculesim, credits in the file along with the preview and all files are compressed. Enjoy (x3)!

Absolutely fantastic that I started this project and then went absolutely nowhere with it. Hey, new year, new me, and now I will be someone who finishes projects instead of just starting them (<- that's a lie).

No texture defaults from me this time, but these files can be used with whatever texture defaults you want, or as is. These are just add-ons to let you have the Maxis hairs for other ages. If you care about the technical details, I've used hidden hair clones whenever possible rather than add custom resources. Now, for what I've done...

fhairshortslick: Edited Melodie9's meshes, also edited the Maxis teen mesh to fix a mapping mistake. This file requires HHS because I found some new recolours (<- also a lie, they are almost 20 years old) in the game files and decided to use them.

fhairshortcute: Also edited Melodie9's meshes, and I think that's pretty much it. I'll probably revisit this at some point because I don't love how the teen hair looks, but at least that's Maxis' doing, not mine.

fhairpagepunk/fhairmob: Edited mob to use the correct textures for all colours, not just red. Edited family strings so toddlers with the mob hair will grow up to use the pagepunk hair instead of the barrette hair. I made a transition child conversion using the mob mesh with pagepunk textures.

fhairlongsimple: Made toddler and child conversions. That's all.

fhairbraidsup: Made a toddler conversion. If you look closely, you'll see that the toddler braids have a segment less than the other ages. That was me trying to make them shorter without squashing anything.

mhairshortspikey: Made toddler and child conversions. I used this hair by @executables-sims but kept the original mapping and textures. I also edited the Maxis teen mesh to sit a little lower in the front, not pictured because I forgot about that when taking previews.

Sims 3 Pack Hairs Retextured!

So I retextured everything besides KST (Katy Perry Sweet Treats) but I hope thats not an issue cause I refuse to fight with tsr workshop in order to retexture it. I also didn't put in thumbnails cause that would've taken me eons in order to do it for every hair. Credits to @faerielandsims and @chazybazzy for their retextures on the hairs so that I could use them for my retexture base. For my last upload of 2024 I shared a couple creations for the current Garden of Shadows theme "Boys' Club & Y2K!" Check out the post here for all the gory details! Summaries below, too.

LBB MrLucas Form Fitting Jeans & T-Shirt

Revival of a MTS mesh from 2006. I always liked MrLucas' edit of the overhang shirt but its more athletic and slimmer shape didn't match anything. But it did make it a good fit for the LBB shape! Uses 9 of the original 15 textures (too many black t-shirt options), and I also added 6 of Pepperdawg's short-sleeve University logo recolors. Lot of recolors but you can always pick and choose what you like. I also made some slight mesh edits to the shoes. I like how this turned out! 2K poly.

Available as everyday for YAM. Compressorized and BSOK'd.

umhairSixty Default Replacement (all ages)

My first hair default and boy did I make a lot mistakes. Trotlyka's version of 3t2 Choppy replaces umhairSixty and I added PM and CM ages. TM thru EM are animated. Available for all outfits. 3.3K poly.

I tried to double and triple check the default, but since it was my first go at hairs, I might've made a mistake. Let me know if you have any issues and I will do my best to fix it!

Generations Expansion Pack Default Replacement Hair Edits (for kids!) [part 1/2]

Another part of edits of EA hairs, we again visit the Generations expansion! This isn't all the child hairs from this pack. I'm hoping to tackle those hairs at a later time :)
