Moyo's Great Big Afterglow Default Project

HOORAH! 🥳Finally I can share with you guys! There's a lot to get through here so some notes beforehand.

There are way, way too many hairs to list and people to credit. See everything that's included and who all deserves credit in the spreadsheet I made for this project!

Not every hair is replaced! I don't know much about hidden clone hairs, for example. Some of them are replaced if the default I used as a base included them but most probably are not.

I chose to hide a bunch of the OFB hats and whatnot when I was starting to get burnt out of this project. See what hairs I've hidden on the hiders tab of the spreadsheet. Hiders are not included, but there's a link to them.

There's a few defaults I'm using from loosiap, rudhira and seabens. They are not included, see those in the defaults by others tab of the spreadsheet.

I use a bunch of no/random npc hair mods so not all npc hairs are replaced. See those in the no/random npc tab of the spreadsheet.

I use custom turn ons that change the one for hats so a lot of the hat hairs are replaced with non-hat hairs. I think most of the flags in simpe are changed to non-hat too but not positive - some might still be hat flagged.

Defaults where all I did was change the texture that didn't contain extra ages include them in a separate file because I didn't want to add them to the main file and mess anything up. Defaults done by me have them included in the main file.

Nearly every default has extra ages, but a few do not.

The Notes column of the spreadsheet mostly contains notes I wrote for myself regarding the custom versions of hairs I retextured (which will all be uploaded) but some of them do apply to the default too. I'm so brain fried though so I'm leaving it in the sheet. You can generally ignore - or read them if you want!

Defaults are in their own folders, and include a pic of the hair they're replacing and a pic of what they're replaced with...if the kind people on the default database are bored.

I'd never made a default replacement for hair before this so if any of these are not made in the best, most optimal way, apologies. I was learning as I went!

PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE reach out if you notice any wonkiness. This was worked on over 3 of the most stressful months of my life so I'd not be surprised if I screwed anything up. Also if I forgot to mention anything in this post that you'd like to know, don't hesitate to ask that too!

Generations Expansion Pack Default Replacement Hair Edits (for kids!) [part 1/2]

Another part of edits of EA hairs, we again visit the Generations expansion! This isn't all the child hairs from this pack. I'm hoping to tackle those hairs at a later time :)

Here we have child-aged future Jocasta and Simis Bachelor modelling the new hairs!

Details:

Default replacement for child sims. You must have the expansion pack installed for these to work as they only replace what exists in your game! Place in your overrides folder to install. :)

Replaces meshes (all LODs) (I have @ifcasims's default retextures installed and they're neat!) Any default replacement retextures will still work.

Compressorized | Custom Thumbnails  (you can customize or delete these if you’d like with s3pe 🙃)

Notes:

Any default replacements or default recategorization mods will not work with these mods! Anything that edits the CASP resources, basically. Please reach out if you have any questions.

I've been wanting to default the Innis Curlers (MTS) since forever but I found even better ones by @aikea-guinea. Sadly, they only came in YA and up, so I kept the teen curlers from Innis and put them together. If I ever find better rollers for teens, I'll most likely revisit this default. Sims 3 Pack Hairs Retextured!

So I retextured everything besides KST (Katy Perry Sweet Treats) but I hope thats not an issue cause I refuse to fight with tsr workshop in order to retexture it. I also didn't put in thumbnails cause that would've taken me eons in order to do it for every hair. Credits to @faerielandsims and @chazybazzy for their retextures on the hairs so that I could use them for my retexture base. If there is anything else missing besides that pack and the thumbnails let me know! Enjoy! :) Download

As suggested, here's a compilation file of allmy Afterglow texture defaults- the info is all the same as in the original posts, but everything's in one zip! The only hairs *not* included are some of the more ugly BG ones (hiders here), hairmediumcenterpart (repo file here), and the hats that don't show hairs. Vampire and hairlongbangsep9 are the only one that include a mesh replacement, and AL barett and high ponytail have AA versions. as well as reguar ones.

Generations Expansion Pack Default Replacement Hair Edits

Part of a hopefully thorough go-through of EA hairs, we have the Generations expansion (one of my absolute favorite packs) that added some great styles, but alas! Too high! DESGUSTENG.

Showcasing Bridgeport's Beau Merrick's looks through the centuries years to show off the changes.

Details:

Default replacement for teen to elder males. You must have the expansion pack installed for these to work as they only replace what exists in your game! Place in your overrides folder to install. :)

Notes:

I did edit the face textures for both Side Sweep Curls and Soft Spike to line up with the lowered hairline. :)

Have the same polycounts as the originals with all LODs excluding the Short Bangs hair. In that one, I added a couple parts at the front to fill in the hair. It went from 2927 to 2957-- a 30 poly difference
