APRIL VOLUNTEER EVENT, Featuring Exotic Cats!
WHEN: Sunday, April 2nd 8:30am - 5pm WHERE: Wildcat Sanctuary (Sandstone, MN)WHAT: We will be volunteering up in Sandstone, MN, at the Wildcat Sanctuary. We will be doing various grunt work (manual labor) around the property, such as cutting grass, cleaning brush, weeding, mending fences, and deep cleaning. Volunteering starts at 10am, then we will break during the day for lunch (you will need to bring a lunch for yourself). When we finish volunteering around 3pm they will give us a tour of all the cats, and allow us to snap photos. THIS EVENT IS 18+ (per Wildcat Sanctuary's policy) Since the Wildcat Sanctuary is approximately an hour and 20 minute drive north of cities, I am planning on setting up carpooling, unless you wish to drive yourself.Group size is 8 minimum - 10 maximum. So we could definitely manage with only 2 cars, depending on group size. Please email me at [email protected] if you are interest in this event and want to RSVP (space is limited!), or have any questions/concerns. You can also follow the TC HAHD Facebook group here, to stay updated on this event, and any future events: https://www.facebook.com/groups/825285514222170/

Thank you to everyone who made it out to our International Have a Hart Day at People Serving People! PSP is the largest family focused homeless shelter in Minnesota. 10 volunteers helped clean common areas, vacuum, do laundry, and cleaned out a room that had just been vacated. We rocked it so hard, we got done with tasks ahead of schedule, so they kept having to find stuff for us to do!

Dearest Hannah (@mydrunkkitchen),
The Twin Cities Minnesotters (@have-a-hart-day group) would like to thank you SO SO much for the wonderfully fun evening last night. We went bowling, ate delicious food, and played a few arcade games. You are an incredibly generous and kind hearted human, and we just love being a part of your world wide HAHD family.
All the best,
Twin Cities HAHD captain and crew

Had the most amazing day volunteering up at the Wildcat Sanctuary today. 6 volunteers dug a trench thru an enclosure, trimmed trees/removed brush and sticks. Then afterward got a tour of all the residents.
PLEASE NOTE: all cat photos were taken during a guided guided tour from one of the main caretakers, after we spent the day volunteering. We were not allowed our phones/cameras during the work day, for safety purposes, but were allowed photos during the tour. All volunteers had to stay at least 10 feet away from the occupied enclosure fences at all times.
The Wildcat Sanctuary is not open to the public for viewing. They are a non-profit organization dedicated to the rescue and care of wildcats previously bred for “pets”, entertainment, tourist attractions, money, status symbols, etc. A few of the MN native species came directly from the DNR after a failed or two release back into the wild. The Wildcat Sanctuary does not rehabilitate/release any cats, nor do they use them for breeding purposes (all cats are spayed/neutered, and vetted). The Wildcat Sanctuary is simply a safe haven for these beautiful creatures to live out the remainder of their life in happiness, while in a proper habitat, and with proper care.

WHEN: February 12th, from 1pm - 3:30pm CST WHERE: Merriam Park Library 1831 Marshall Ave, St Paul, MN 55104 WHAT: We will be making thank you cards, and cards of encouragement to send off to lawmakers in MN, and elsewhere (Ruth Bader Ginsburg?) that are fighting the good fight. Initially this was going to be specifically for women lawmakers, however there has been a request for this to be any lawmakers, as there are a lot of male lawmakers doing good things too. :) I would also like us to send Governor Dayton some well-wishes (not get well soon), as he was just diagnosed with prostate cancer. :( I will be collecting (to the best of my ability) addresses for a random smattering of lawmakers for us to send cards to. However if there is a particular lawmaker you think deserves a card or two, I ask that you bring along an address to this event for me to use, in case I do not have that individual's address. I have a lot of craft supplies, paper, markers, crayons, stickers and the likes I will bring to share. However if you can, please bring a long a pair of scissors for yourself to use, and a glue stick if possible, and any additional supplies you may have that you might like to share. Please email me at [email protected] to RSVP for this event, of if you have any questions! Join the Twin Cities HAHD Fb group here, to stay up on all future events: https://www.facebook.com/groups/825285514222170/
