#hahaha isn't it crazy and unexpected how they masterfully subvert expectations#by pulling a total 180 on everything they established about his character in act II?#nevermind that it LITERALLY doesn't even make sense that he would suddenly be mad about Brigita and Veronica's relationship (iykyk)#but yanno alcoholics just completely lose all personality to the drink and can't have inner lives and their own opinions despite their flaws#no sir there's only Noble Victims or Moral Failures when it comes to addiction#sorry this is my biggest fucking gripe with the game. why did they think this was good storytelling?#like they could've literally still had him be mostly bitter and have never truly defeated his demons#and still have him be grateful that he got a second chance that most people like him don't get#but nooooo that might actually be an interesting and nuanced approach to a character struggling with alcoholism#anyway i hate it here#monk blogging
