Party Talking
Tumblr media
sfw!
fem!reader ( very awkward n chill )
a typical confession love story wah wah wah
use of y/n!
ā€œ you need to socialize more ā€œ that's the last thing you heard from, ted, your childhood bestfriend stated before dragging you to a party thst you aren't fond of
you sat on the couch, awkward as you drink your fruit punch, hating the taste of beer on your lips
you fumble with your fingers as you sigh out, glancing at the open door but seeing ted playfully glaring at you, not wanting you to leave yet
you groan out in defeat, as you stand up about to refill your fruit punch, before bumping into schlatt, ā€œ hey lil lady, watch where you're going ā€œ he chuckles, ā€œ you alright? ā€œ
ā€œ oh uh yeah ā€œ you mumble, slowly nodding as he looks at you before patting your head, ā€œ ive never seen you before, name's schlatt ā€œ schlatt introduces himself
you nod again, stating your name, ā€œ nice to meet you schlatt ā€œ you gave him an awkward smile before chuckling, ā€œ you look tense, did someone drag you here? ā€œ he jokes noticing the empty cup before offering, ā€œ you want fruit punch? i can fill some for you ā€œ he offers as you nod slowly handing him the cup
ā€œ ted dragged me here ā€œ you mutter, ā€œ he said i should socialize ā€œ you added as schlatt scoops some fruit punch, ā€œ oh i get it, you're an introvert? or you just don't like big crowds? ā€œ he asks
ā€œ both ā€œ you reply, muttering a small thank you as you get your cup back, ā€œ ā€¦ wanna be friends? ā€œ schlatt asks, looking at you as you nod again
ā€œ im sorry if im pretty awkward.. im just not good with talking ā€œ you state as schlatt gave you a small nod, ā€œ i understand, not everyone has good socializing skills ā€œ
the two of you sat on the couch again, ā€œ ā€¦do you like cats? ā€œ he asks, surprised seeing your eyes sparkle in interest, ā€œ i have a cat actually! ā€œ you smile brightly
and god, the two of you talked and talked for hours until the party was over, ā€œ y/n? y/n? ā€œ ted calls out for you, interrupting yours and schlattā€™s conversation as he finally spots you both
ā€œ woah, what do we have here? ā€œ ted raises his eyebrow as you chuckle softly, ā€œ i got my same a new girl friend ā€œ schlatt shrugs, smug, as ted nods, ā€œ im so proud, seeing both of my best friends getting along ā€œ he dramatically faked a sob as schlatt playfully yet gently punches him causing the three of you to laugh
ā€œ but funā€™s over now, ill drop you home y/n ā€œ ted hums, showing you that it's 11pm now ā€œ ohā€¦ dang ā€œ you slowly stand up watching schlatt as he gave you a reassuring nod, ā€œ wellā€¦ i guess i gotta go home too ā€œ schlatt states, sighing as he stood up
-
as you got home, you got confused receiving a chat from a random number
*** ***** ****
< hey! this is schlatt from
the party, i forgot to ask
for your number so i
asked ted šŸ˜
oh hiii >
uhhhh >
this is awkward >
< lol it's totally fine can i
ask you something?
< if you don't mind of course
< haha
yeah of course sure >
< you downā€¦ to go with
me? there's a new cat
cafƩ opening somewhere
it's fine if you don't want
to go but yeah if you're
free at saturday id be
happy to go with u šŸ˜
oh! >
i'm definitely free >
of course ill go with u! >
what you didn't know was schlatt was staring at your message, kicking his foot like an anime girl, a small blush on his cheeks, rolling around his bed
this continued on for weeks, meet ups here and there, small dates, the both of you just clicked and god it was making schlatt crazy how you two are just friends
but he knows one day he needs to man up, grow some balls, and tell you how he felt and that day, was this one
the two of you stroll at a nearby park, taking both of your cats for a walk, he steals glances at you, he tries to act non chalant but he tremendously fails, him stammering his words, almost slipping, it was getting bad for him
ā€œ you alright jay? ā€œ you ask him, a tone of concern in your voice, ā€œ you look redā€¦ like really red ā€œ
he breathes out, shaking his head, ā€œ no god hahahaā€¦ it's nothing.. it's just so hot ā€œ he mumbles, looking away, ā€œ schlattā€¦ it's winter ā€œ you state as the two of you pauses, chuckling in unison
ā€œ okay okay im sorry ā€œ he breathes out, ā€œ ive been thinking about somethingā€ he mumbles, looking at you
ā€œ about what? ā€œ you ask, as you two stop, looking at eachother, was this the right time? is she okay with this? does she even like me back? schlatt mentally asks himself
looking at your eyes with adoration and anxiety, his fingers fumbling, jamboā€™s and soupā€™s lead, ā€œ holy fucking shit ā€œ he whispers
ā€œ you okay? ā€œ you ask, gently resting your hand on his arm, thinking he was cold, as schlatt reddens more
ā€œ fuck okay, i need to tell you something okay? ā€œ he breathes out, looking at you intently
ā€œ ā€¦ okay? ā€œ you chuckle softly, rubbing your hand on his arm
ā€œ i like you y/nā€¦ i know it's been weeks of us just meeting but god you're the most amazing woman i know, you're kind, sweet, friendly, justā€¦ everything about you is just so lovable it's making me insane to think that we're just friendsā€¦ im so glad you attended that party because if you didn't i would've never met you- ā€œ he rambles, but you gently cut him off with a peck on his cheek
ā€œ i like you too schlatt ā€œ you smile, ā€œ more like jared ā€œ you manage to tease him, getting a loud laugh at him, lifting you up as he spun you, smiling cheek to cheek, ā€œ holy shit i love you so much ā€œ he rains kisses all over your face, fixing your hair as he smiles at you endearingly

If you're still doing headcanon requests, what about a Wally x workaholic perfectionist?
Love your writing and whenever you have the time I'd love to see what you think of this :)
ahhh thank you sweet and precious anon!!! šŸ„° oooh now this one is hitting home...i'm guessing you are a workaholic perfectionist yourself? you may have guessed from the outpouring of fanworks i've made both for Welcome Home in general that i also fit into this category šŸ™ˆ thank you for this cathartic writing opportunity!
Wally Darling x Workaholic, Perfectionist Reader headcanons
šŸ’– it's your passion which draws Wally to you in the first place. an easy-going, less-thoughts-in-the-head-than-most sort of fellow, Wally prefers to take life at a leisurely pace - but all of that is thrown out of the window when he meets you. you're so full of verve, forever jotting down notes or scribbling sketches in your notebooks, or coming up with grand ideas for outings and events. in fact, when the two of you first meet Wally says very little at all: he's quite content to sit with his chin cradled in his palm, gazing whilst you infodump about your latest obsession and the countless related projects you're going to create. Wally feels that you're an unstoppable force, and he's an immovable object...but he's so excited to be in the presence of such a tour de force of enthusiasm šŸ”„
šŸ’– however, Wally doesn't always understand why your work makes you so upset. Wally understands the concept of a job - after all, his good friend Howdy Pillar has a fantastic job, working at the bugdega! but the kind of work typical of the Neighbourhood is much less structured and capitalism-driven, and the laxness of this system gives you severe anxiety. Wally grows concerned when he notices you staying up later and later, hunched over your desk and crumpling up endless sheets of paper. when the darkness shifts into a burgeoning dawn, a fuzzy hand grips your wrist, stilling it against your desk. "You don't need to have one perfect idea," Wally says, picking up and uncrumpling one of your discarded sheets. "You just need to enjoy having ideas in the first place!"
šŸ’– eventually, Wally realises that your perfectionistic, workaholic tendencies aren't going away - so he compromises. on more than one occasion when you've passed out on the couch surrounded by half-read books, you've awoken to find your shoulders draped with Wally's soft cardigan. but some days are so stressful that no amount of cosy fabric will calm you down. when days where you're driven to distraction and frazzled by tasks read their heads, Wally likes to play a game of his own invention: something he calls Puppet Time. if Wally senses you're about to have a breakdown, he will announce, "it's Puppet Time!" and launch himself right into your arms. once contact is established, Wally will go completely limp, meaning there's nothing you can do but drop whatever you're holding and grab Wally before he hits the ground. no matter how stressed you are, this never fails to make you burst into laughter, and you're always much more receptive to a rest afterwards. Wally will continue his boneless routine even as you swing him up over your shoulders, giving him a free ride to a different room for a well-deserved break āœØ
haha, this was a seriously fun one!! i hope you know you deserve to rest when you need it, anon. take care šŸ„°

20 Questions for Fic Writers
tagged by @dangerpronebuddie @diazsdimples @aroeddiediaz @underwaterninja13 @nmcggg @ladydorian05 thank you <33
How many works do you have on ao3?
right now it's 90! (57 of these are 911 lol)
What's your total ao3 word count?
535,450
What fandoms do you write for?
currently just 911, but I have some destiel and sambucky fics and who knows, I might get back to them at some point haha
Top 5 fics by kudos:
For a holiday (and forevermore)
I can't love you any more (than I do now)
I'd marry you with paper rings
the next best thing
Thereā€™s no way that itā€™s not going there (with the way that weā€™re looking at each other)
(they're all buddie and I just noticed that the top 4 are all over 1k kudos?? when did that happen lmao)
Do you respond to comments?
I do! sometimes it takes me a while bc i get lowkey overwhelmed lol but I always do!
What is the fic you wrote with the angstiest ending?
there's not a lot bc I prefer happy or hopeful endings, but I guess by post 6x10 fics? Fine and don't know what I'd do if your tomorrow never came idk lol
What's the fic you wrote with the happiest ending?
most of my fics have happy endings, but I guess I'd say For a holiday (and forevermore)Ā
Do you get hate on fics?
not really? got like one or two not very nice comments but generally no haha
Do you write smut?
yes I do šŸ˜ not often and it always takes me forever but I do have two smut fics in the works (one buddie, one bucktommy lol)
Craziest crossover?
don't have any
Have you ever had a fic stolen?
no, as far as I know
Have you ever had a fic translated?
nope
Have you co-written a fic before?
no
All time favorite ship?
buddie
(ngl, bucktommy is a veeeeery close second rnšŸ™ˆ)
What's a wip you want to finish, but doubt you ever will?
there's two that have been fighting me for so long they're lowkey abandoned now and tbh I don't know if I still want to finish them? one is a 5+1 nicknames, and the other just a silly idea about eddie flirting with buck since they met but buck being veeeery oblivious lol
What are your writing strengths?
I think (usually) I'm pretty good at staying true to the characters and not making them too ooc (and I know when it's ooc, okay, I have one wip rn where I just don't give a fuck, I'm writing it anyway lol), and I can get into their heads pretty well. Also I think I'm good at the cute fluffy stuff lol idk
What are your writing weaknesses?
there's probably a lot lol - rn the one that comes to mind is descriptions probably, which is why writing fanfic where we have established characters and settings is so much easier than og stuff haha
Thoughts on dialogue in another language?
I don't mind it but I don't do it a lot aside from a pet name here and there bc I just don't wanna get anything wrong lol
First fandom you wrote in?
for tv shows supernatural, but before that I did write rpf which i just wanna forget about lol
Favorite fic you've written?
rn it's three:
we don't know where this is going now (don't be afraid of heights, let me open your heart wide) - my tommy pov fic <3
I'm comin' back, don't let me go - buck driving/breakdown fic
baby, you drive me wild - car smut - might not be my best but it's my fave smut lol

im asking this because you made a james one but can you make a jily meta if you have timešŸ™ˆšŸ™ˆ
Anon I'm sorry for the delay in replying, I was thinking it through!! But it's nice to have something positive to talk about haha.
The loves of my life tbh. I really really like jily even though I think my snapeishness means I'm not as involved in mainstream jily fandom. I mean enemies to lovers always has its appeal and to me james and lily are a realistic, imperfect- but all the more compelling for it- appealing dynamic.
Obviously we don't get to see a lot of their actual relationship in canon, but I think that's why it's so fun to fill in the blanks. Personally I think it's pretty normal that they were drawn to each other and ended up in a relationship from what we know- they're both pretty big personalities, intelligent and charming and brave, they have similar goals and beliefs about the world, there was attraction early on (obviously in james's case, more or less confirmed by jkr in lily's- and b4 anyone starts in on lily for being attracted to him that's not something one can control, and she probs wasn't aware anyway).
Lily basically hated his guts, with good reason, so to go from that to dating there had to be a pretty big shift in both james and in their relationship (and likely lily too, or that's my belief). Honestly what I think is that in their final years at Hogwarts, the encroaching war brought on this new seriousness, and as lines were more clearly drawn in the sand it became obvious that lily and the marauders were on the same side of it. Things like sports, popularity, rivalries cease to matter in the face of a life-or-death conflict, you're forced to grow up and deal with it, and while for Severus this brought out the worst in him, for James it brought out the best.
People talk about James changing but I think a post SWM-lily was also changing. She set a very clear boundary with Sev and I think that was an important character development moment for her. Again, the war was on the horizon, their priorities were becoming clear, and I see Lily as becoming more sure of herself and her beliefs, less tolerant of bullshit from those around her. James was becoming more circumspect, more open-minded, more responsible, so when lily and the marauders were thrown together in natural alliance the two of them were just at a point where they were compatible.
I don't think their relationship was perfect and idyllic and all that, that would be less interesting anyway. It was probably hard sometimes. One thing I love when fics explore is the class differences between James and Lily; not only is he pureblood while she's muggleborn, but he comes from wealth where she comes from a humble little working-class family in the mids. There was probably a lot of stuff James didn't understand about her life; I feel like he probably tried his best anyway. Lily probably felt intimidated or defensive about her own background at times.
I don't doubt that they argued; in fact they got off on it probably enjoyed arguing with each other, given their personalities. Both of them were intelligent, opinionated, had an arguing kink, fiery people. Like I don't think it was this exaggerated screaming match sort of thing but I'm sure they loved a healthy spirited debate which maybe got a little out of hand sometimes.
I have touched on this previously but I see James as deep down pretty insecure (who isnt in this world apart from sirius black) and I think initially he was probably pretty insecure about Lily too. I do see him regretting his previous behaviour and thinking he isn't good enough for her and that he's incredibly lucky to be with her. which is true and he should suffer. but I have an upcoming scene (lily's first time at the potters') where james is like "i feel like i'm not good enough for you" and lily's like "shut up i'm the one who's not good enough for you" and they're like "great. i guess we're not good enough for each other. sorted i guess." My point being James actively tried to be a better man, Lily saw that and admired it. because she's good and wonderful like that.
Idk I guess I see it kind of as a realistic, flawed, but ultimately loving relationship. I'm sure there was a lot of stuff they had to work on over the few years they got :( but I'm also sure they had a lot of fun together because to me they just seem really compatible in so many ways as humans.
My belief is that they got married quickly because of the war (I also believe this about frank and alice, even though i see them as older) but it's likely they would have ended up married anyway, or at least in a long term, healthy, happy relationship.
Also the pottermore entry about Vernon and Petunia is my absolute fave for many reasons (love the vertunia of it all ofc) but also the little snippet about jily is golden. The double date between vertunia and jily is perhaps one of my favourite scenes I've ever written haha it's just such a good moment, basically the only canon info we do get about while they were dating.

#20, 33, 34, and 35 please!!
Sorry this is late! Wanted to think about my answers more, but I forgot to even read the original questions this whole time, so I def' didn't get to think about my answers, whups. šŸ˜…
Thank you for ask, @dayseternal-blog!! šŸ„°
How do you approach action sequences or intense moments?
I haven't written anything action, it makes me cringe because I don't think I know what I'm doing, but I read that short sentences are best for this and I would agree. Choppy, curt sentences would give that sense of blow for blow feeling that action needs, and it would give the sense of it happening seconds of each other, or even simultaneously. I would probably look for an action scene to copy tbh, and try to write the choreography in a choppy way. Emotionally intense moments can be the same, I suppose. Idk what I do personally, I think I'm an Intuitive writer. Once I'm in the emotion of the scene or character, I just go for it and my heart beats really fast usually and it's wrenching and it's awesome and then it just exists and it feels right. (Until I reread it a month or so later. šŸ™ˆ Jk, time isn't the problem, my inconsistent headspace is. šŸ¤)
How do you incorporate world-building elements into your fics?
So, at this point and as you know, I'm veryyyyy comfortable writing my modern AUs as if they were based in Japan. Even though I don't think Konoha could feasibly be as big as Tokyo with the size of Hi no Kuni, I just write it as if it is. šŸ˜… I pull from the real world to some extent, usually Uzushio is a mix of Okinawa and Taiwan, but I also have some AU where it's pretty damn impoverished, so it's going to be a mix of Macau and Haiti. Sometimes Suna is a mix of Macau and Vegas, haha. I guess Dubai and Macau would probably be more... unique. šŸ¤” I focus on food and architecture more than deeper things like politics and style of governance and whatnot, because my characters only experience those things passively as ordinary citizens do. Whenever I get back to Powerless, the shady secret government program plotline will actually matter more than Slice of Life stuff, so in that instance I will have to map out history, organizations and their affiliations, how secret programs are run, etc. It just depends on what my story needs. Usually backstory kind of comes to me on its own and that informs me of the world. Can't really think of anything else. šŸ¤” Making things familiar is the main aim every time, though. Dango to a Japanese is like sugar-cinnamon pretzels to us in the US or whatever, it's a familiar snack you can get pretty easily. That's the kind of immersion I try to keep in mind.
Are there any fic writing tips or tricks you've learning along the way that you'd like to share?
Proofread before posting. Proofread again when you wake up the next day after posting. You'll always miss something, but give yourself the first week to catch all the typos you might've missed. šŸ˜‚
I guess I recommend reading your dialogue aloud? Maybe your whole fic? My inner monologue is pretty damn loud, so I like to trust my word flow is good because I'm practically reading it aloud in my head. I recommend letting characters interrupt each other. Unless perhaps both parties are really solemn about getting to the bottom of the issue or respect each other or both, that neither interrupts the other, but their emotions would be raging to speak up in the midst of all that patience. Figure out your own writing process. If outlining sucks out the fun, try writing the whole thing without guidance but be sure to analyze the story's direction with what you produce. I recommend the flashlight method for pantsers like myself, there are other methods as well, but a little organization goes a long way. I lastly recommend the "One Stop for Writers" site, their Emotion Thesaurus is such an amazing tool. When you just need to reference things quickly, it's very robust.
What do you enjoy the most about being a fic writer?
Between the community aspect and kind of being known for certain things, I think those are pretty even. I enjoy the act of creation and all that, but having something I experienced along the way and having the pride of it being mine is pretty damn cool. And the community makes that feeling even better.

Fanfiction Tropes Tier List (Reader Edition)
Thank you for the tag, @deliciouskeys! (Here's their tier list!)
I tag: @fuckingpajamas, @phtalate, @tzeentchs-secretary-tea-time, @digitalbath1988, @vanshoundd, @tocadoguara, and anyone who wants to do this! Iā€™d be very interested to see how yā€™all would rank ā€˜em :) but ofc no pressure if you donā€™t want to or have already done this!
ā€¦So I feel like I need to give some contextšŸ§šŸ»ā€ā™€ļøšŸ™ˆ The tl;dr is: I will read almost anything, but I have certain standards/ expectations that must be met in order for me to continue.
Tumblr media
I tried to organize these tropes from top āž”ļø bottom, have strong feelings about (would more likely read) āž”ļø am less passionate about going from left āž”ļø right. For the bottom tiers with asterisks, I arranged them from ā€œthis specific trope represents the tier descriptionā€ āž”ļø ā€œeh, it fits here but I donā€™t really hold strong opinions about theseā€ from left āž”ļø right.
ā¬‡ļøExpand for a detailed breakdown below the line break ā¬‡ļø
Tumblr media
My Tier List for fanfic tropes I consume as a Reader differ in some areas from tropes Iā€™d like to write or would be open to writing as a Writer. As a reader, I usually give almost every fanfic a chance with my own arbitary criteriaā€”although what I read is very ship dependent according to their canon dynamic (for example, I will devour Enemies to Lovers for one specific OTP in one fandom, but would NEVER read that trope applied to a different fav ship of mine in a different fandom). I also tossed in some danmei BL tropes, for funsies and because I want more people to know about them <3.
And remember, if you like any of these that I personally donā€™t, thatā€™s great! Everyone has their own preferences. Please donā€™t take offense. These are just how I view these tropes specifically according to me, haha. It says less about you and more about me being picky with what I like to read and gives context about what kind of bibliophile (person who likes reading) I am.
Tier 1 (SSS Level)
Slowburn: Just as context, I regularly read light novels (hetero, danmei, and baihe) which can easily range from 100ch-300ch each. So slowburns is the quintessential demisexual experience for me, and I love it when theyā€™re long fics where we get to see characters grow and relationships develop, with worldbuilding and an interesting plot. I think the longest Iā€™ve ever read was +2.8K chapters of a story I was addicted to. Typically if I see itā€™s a slowburn, I know Iā€™m gonna have a good time.
Fix-It Fic: As much as I love canon of the original source material, there are certain canon story decisions and/or plotholes that hurt meā€”so itā€™s always great to see someone write their own interpretation to try to ā€œfix it.ā€ You get banger fics and itā€™s just so creative and a nice catharsis.
Canon Divergence: Same as how I regard a Fix-It.
Dark Fic: Irl I obviously do not condone any of the things that typically happen in Dark Fics. But as someone who has consumed your usual wholesome healthy Lifetime Original style romance stories for a loooooong time, that type of milquetoast wholesomeness has become bland and predictable for meā€”which is why the wild and crazy shenanigans that happen in Dark Fics spices things up for me and I like that it keeps me guessing. I donā€™t want to read about things from my life. I think screwed up characters can offer so much more interesting stakes than a Good Guy. I like the tension and uncertainty. Ex. this is why I tend to prefer the protag/villain ships over the protag/childhood friend ships; itā€™s why a princely character who is secretly yandere is so much more interesting than a sidekick character with a bland and forgettable personality. The writers of Dark Fics, 9/10 times, produce something so interesting that I canā€™t put my phone down and I just have to binge through their entire fic because the suspense is k*lling me.
Conspiracy & Schemes: Mysteries? Political intrigue? Palace drama? Yes, please, inject it into my veins.
Strong Protagonist & Strong Love Interest: Itā€™s similar to how Iā€™ve come to prefer reading Dark Fics. The marketā€™s too oversaturated with the damsel in distress trope being saved by his/her prince charming. Iā€™ve read too many novels and fanfics about that dynamic, itā€™s gotten a little stale for me, haha. Give me the clever, scheming, morally grey or villainous MC with a strong backbone. I like badasses. As for the ML or FL, I also prefer them to be strong or scheming as well so they can be a power couple with the MCā€”and curb-stomp the world and their enemies. ā€¦*holds face like a blushing maiden* Donā€™t they sound like the equivalent of a fairytale couple?
Mutual Pining: Yes, yes, yes. Itā€™ll never be not good.
Revenge-Rebirth: I love underdog characters plotting their secret machinations and getting their revenge. Pair it with a rebirth, where a previous villain(ess) or cannon fodder whoā€™d suffered before learns from the mistakes of their previous life and uses their second life to faceslap their enemies and turn their destiny around? Yes, yes, yes.
Survival Game: I love the Infinite Flow (survival horror/ death game) genre, what can I say? If youā€™ve read the famous ones, you know why. The writing is almost always superb and so interesting (seeing all the unique horror instances that the MC has to figure out in order to survive). Itā€™s just so imaginative.
Obsessive Love: Same as how I regard a Dark Fic. I do not condone it irl, but an unhealthily codependent partner in my fictional romances? Yes. I want them to be even more obsessed with my favorite character and fall deeper and deeper in love.
Misunderstanding: There is a difference between how I view misunderstandings versus how I view miscommunication (which can grate on my nerves if not executed well). I believe you fundamentally cannot have a good long fic without some misunderstandings that the MC or Love Interest has to clear up, and itā€™s always so good once the cat is out of the bag and the truth is revealed.
Isekai/ Transmigration (World-Hopping): Yes. Gimme. Itā€™s like 10 stories in one. I like it when your ordinary layperson gets transported into a different fantastical world or pseudohistorical world or into a different modern world of much different circumstances depending on their new identity. I like these duck out of water stories.
Historical AU & Royalty AU: Thereā€™s just something about pseudo-medieval settings that can be so charming and interesting to read. If youā€™ve got royalty thrown in, thereā€™s the additional seasoning of power struggles between members of royalty and aristocracy, and political intrigue, and seeing how a kingdom is run. Writers tend to do a good job worldbuilding these types of stories with characters I like moved into this new setting.
Established Relationship: The domesticity and PDA of it all can make my heart go dokidoki (especially if theyā€™re a powerhouse couple). It can fall into the danger of coming across as bland, so this depends on the plot and writerā€™s execution of their relationship. I gotta have some stakes.
Enemies to Lovers: I love it for certain pairings.
Forbidden Love: Itā€™s the tabooness of it that makes it interesting to read.
Friends to Lovers: As long as itā€™s not milquetoast or bland, I think most of the time this is executed well. Itā€™s a step below an Established Relationship, so theyā€™ve got wiggle room to develop into that.
Soulmate AU: Itā€™s inherently romantic, what can I say? I will REALLY LOVE it though if the writer gives it a unique twist.
First Kiss & Sharing a Bed: Itā€™s tender and sweet (or hot) and I will never get tired of it. You canā€™t go wrong with it.
Magic AU & Fairytale AU: Itā€™s a fantasy world. As long as itā€™s not bland and there is a serviceable magic system, I will generally like it. (One caveat: it cannot be a HP AU. Cā€™mon. As much as I like HP, you can do better as a writer than transporting these characters into the HP universe. Come up with your own magic system.) For fairytale AUs, itā€™s basically your Hans Christian Andersen/ Disney fairytale with your favorite characters. I donā€™t think you can go wrong with it. I just love any AUs in general.
Huddle for Warmth: Same as First Kiss & Sharing a Bed & PWP.
Tier 2 (A Level)
Fluff: Oftentimes reading cute fluff (like sneaking quick kisses or holding hands) can make me blush and giggle more than reading p0rn or smut on my phone in public. HOWEVER, unlike a oneshot where I can tolerate it, for me fluff has be spread sporadically throughout if itā€™s a long fic. If the long fic is just too fluffy and sweet all the way throughout (force-feeding me ā€œmengā€ and ā€œdog foodā€ (PDA)), I get the equivalent of a sugary overdose and any interest I have for the fic dries up into ā€œugh, thatā€™s enoughā€ā€”which usually ends up with me dropping the fic if the fluff had oversaturated everything (all sugar/ fluff, no real meaty substance). Thereā€™s only so much cutesy uwu, descriptions of someoneā€™s soft coquettish voice scratching the Love Interestā€™s heart like a catā€™s paw, etc that I can stomach at a time. Itā€™s like junk food; I canā€™t eat too much of it.
PWP: As a connoisseur of all things slowburn and a demisexual irl, I have to be in the mood to read a PWP. Itā€™s p0rn without plot; I donā€™t expect to be reading much plot (although itā€™d be a pleasant surprise if the p0rn came with some serviceable-enough plot šŸ‘Œ). It is whatā€™s written on the tin. Iā€™m not here expecting a Shakespearean masterpiece. A writer was gripped by the h0rny and decided to share, and this was the result. Iā€™m here to turn my brain off, have fun, and read about two of my favorite fictional characters banging each other stupid.
Im Vino Veritas (Drunken Confessions): Yes, gimme. Iā€™m picky about the execution and the follow-up scene that comes after the drunken confession though (after the drunk character sobers up). The writer has to be skilled enough for me to root for the character and not cringe (unless the whole point is to cringe at the drunk confessing because itā€™s established theyā€™re a cannon fodder character who wonā€™t get together with the MC or Love Interest).
Missing Scenes: I generally like it when writers come up with a What-If scenario that happens between Point A and Point C of canon. It can be fun and believableā€”especially if they get the characterization right. Then itā€™s like reading a little bonus content (like, you know itā€™s a personā€™s headcanon but, dang, itā€™s written so well I could almost believe it was canon).
Office AU: I love me my rich Sugar Daddy AUs and doting CEO husbands pampering and spoiling their lovers. I enjoy reading about a business expanding into a powerful corporation and the power struggles that come with. Itā€™s a guilty pleasure. (I do have to try not to think about HR though.)
Showbiz AU: Itā€™s a guilty pleasure. Sometimes I learn something new about the acting or modeling or fashion industry, and itā€™s interesting. I also like seeing the journey of the unknown underdog MC rising like a phoenix from a nobody to a well-respected powerhouse of their industry.
Reincarnation: Same as how I regard almost other AUs here (inject it into my veins). With reincarnation though, I usually like to see the rebirth have an affect on the story. Itā€™s an important plot device after all. If it seems like the whole rebirth part could be omitted and it wouldnā€™t even impact the story with that aspect removed, thenā€¦well, sorry, the story didnā€™t execute it well.
Cold Love Interest: Depends on the execution, but I like it when you have this character whoā€™s known to be cold slowly be thawed out the more and more they start opening up to the Main Characterā€”until they inevitably fall in love. Itā€™s essentially reading about an ice cube that has melted into warm spring water. The transformation can be so beautiful and moving, because youā€™ve been following them on their journey of self-discovery and finding happiness. (However, my tolerance toward Cold Characters does have a limit; they canā€™t be irredeemable at the start. Because if itā€™s the equivalent of the Wife Chasing Crematorium trope, where the Love Interest is a cheating (?) murderous (?) selfish abusive assh0le who has essentially traumatized the MC and still gets together with them at the endā€¦ā€¦.ugh, 9/10 times I will dislike it even if the ML or FL realizes how much their actions have hurt the MC and tries their best to make up to it for the rest of their lives.)
Dense Protagonist: A protagonist who is oblivious to the Love Interest character pining and simping hardcore after them can be hilarious. However, I am generally picky about its execution. It can teeter the fine line between endearing and dumb/ annoying. At some point, their denseness can become too much (to the point where itā€™s no longer funny or amusing) that my suspension of disbelief drops and itā€™s no longer fun to read the story for me personally.
Unrequited Love: Depends on the context. Is it the writerā€™s intention to make it bittersweet and unresolved? Is the character pining after their unrequited love, and itā€™s the early stage of the story where the MC or ML/FL have yet to reciprocate? Is the intention to make me cry? For all of these, I usually like to know before I jump into a ficā€”because Iā€™m a sappy woman who gets easily teary-eyed and I easily get touched by moving depictions of the human connection. So I donā€™t want my young glass maiden heart to be hurt too much, haha; thereā€™s only so much abuse my heart can handle.
Crossover: At some point, I run out of fics (the good ones) to read for the specific ship I like. So I turn to crossovers, to see how my favorite MC can be shipped with someone else. If the writerā€™s good, they can blend the worlds and these cast of characters together seamlessly. Itā€™s like a brain puzzleā€”so I have countless admiration for those who can execute crossovers well.
Time Loop: This is your usual Nicholas Sparksā€™ (a romance writer) type of story; a time loop is basically Groundhog Day where the MC has to figure out how to break the time loopā€”and Iā€™m usually invested in the mystery of how theyā€™re gonna pull it off. Iā€™d like to say when Iā€™m in the mood to read this, writers tend to execute the trope well (my logic: if youā€™re going to introduce a plot device, make it relevant to the story; if it can be omitted and it doesnā€™t detract from the experience, then it doesnā€™t need to be there).
Hurt/ Comfort: To an extent. Itā€™s the same as Fluff or Angst for me. Moderation is key.
Sex Pollen & Bang or Die: Similar to how I regard PWPs.
Arranged Marriage: Generally I will like if executed well. I almost put this in Tier 3, because I more often than not donā€™t usually click on a fic if I see this trope tagged (because my brain thinks about the irl implications). BUTā€¦it is the premise of almost every transmigration (isekai) light novel or manhua/manhwa I readā€”and they work because itā€™s a fish out of water story where the MC finds out there they have an arranged marriage to a king, prince, duke, noble, knight, etc with a certain cruel or perfect reputation, and you get to read about them learning about their real selves and falling in love over time with their fiancĆ©e/fiancĆ©. And itā€™s so cute. This is my expectation when I read fics with this trope: a fairytale-like romance, where the arranged marriage managed to work out in this coupleā€™s favor instead of it being loveless.
Baby Fic & Pregnancy Fic: I would not go out of my way to read oneshots where the whole premise is specifically only about either of this. It has to be just one of the ingredients in the whole long fic. Writing children is tougher than you think (you have to be so careful writing about them because you can toe the line between making them precocious and making them annoying), and some people are unable to respectfully write pregnancy characters, choosing instead to focus on the humor of pregnancy stereotypesā€”but the gags can come across as shallow writing than giving it the proper respect it deserves. So it depends on 1) the execution and 2) my mood. Iā€™ve read a couple good ones, but thatā€™s because the writer is good at delivering the concept that is easily digestible and frames the whole process of birth and child rearing as a beautiful process of nature and life.
Tier 3 (B Level)
A/B/O: I will not intentionally go out of my way 99/100 times to read Omegaverse stories. Shocker, I know. Itā€™s just, for me, I tend to find a majority of these general A/B/O ficsā€¦shallow and of little substance. Most of the time, I find the writing can also be a bit distasteful, especially when it comes to the omega and alpha dynamic in this kinda story (in the wrong hands, the writer can make their story come across as r@pey and sexist/ misogynistic, especially if an alphaā€™s being aggressive and forceful with the MC because theyā€™ve been affected by the smell of an omegaā€™s heatā€”and now Iā€™m reading descriptions of the omega character sobbing and crying out ā€œno, no, noā€ and ā€œplease stopā€ and Iā€™m in disbelief why people find this hot). I also donā€™t like the submissiveness of the omega character where itā€™s like Iā€™m reading about a milquetoast wet rag who has all their fight drained out and has no personality other than being a hole that produces slick and blushes constantly. Also, for me, predictability is not something I like; if I can predict everything thatā€™s going to happen in a fic, I will become bored. I need some kinda serviceable plot for me to be emotionally invested in an A/B/O fic or thereā€™s some kinda hook that keeps me coming back. I can enjoy the rare one A/B/O fic out of one hundred similar A/B/O fics, but I am INCREDIBLY PICKY about what I choose. The premise itself is also very important to what makes or breaks an A/B/O fic experience for me (for example, if itā€™s a Dark fic, then I can be more forgiving because itā€™s expected for there to be dark themes).
Miscommunication: For me thereā€™s no in-between. I will either hate or love this trope, depending on its execution in the fic. On the extreme end of hatred, I am ticked off when a conflict in the story can be easily resolved had the character(s) communicated properlyā€”and itā€™s just so incredibly dumb. On the opposite end, miscommunication can be done well as a funny gag or a plot device that shows how differently characters can interpret a situation or words. So depending on which one of these the fic delivers, it determines how much I can enjoy a fic.
Love Triangle: See my opinion on Harem Fics, and now make my aversion less strong. Iā€™m a wee more forgiving on this trope because itā€™s a love triangle where you start off with the MC, the ML/FL, and the love rivalā€”and the story is about the MC choosing one of them. The other Love Triangle Iā€™m okay with is if itā€™s obviously a poly ship where the MC ends up with two peopleā€”but it has to be executed well (I generally have to like both options for the MC). Iā€™m more of a monogamous soulmate type of gal, so Iā€™m kinda picky on the execution when a story focuses on the love triangle. It canā€™t drag on to the point where I find it to be insufferable. The danger with a love triangle is I, your reader, might come to like the Second Male Lead or Second Female Leadā€”and think they were a better fit for the MC than the actual Fe/Male Lead that was chosen just because this character was the writerā€™s favorite. In this case, the moment the wrong candidate is chosen, my interest in the fic dwindles and I feel like Iā€™m reading a lesser version of what initially drew me to the fic in the first place. So now itā€™s the writerā€™s responsibility to show me why their choice is the correct one.
Angst: Itā€™s like junk food; the key is moderation. I canā€™t have too much of itā€”otherwise itā€™s too angsty and the poignant emotional knives become laughable.
Humor: Humor is subjective, and differs for each person. What the writer finds funny might not be what I find funny. Iā€™m more of a subtle gal. So if a ficā€™s meant to be funny throughout, it runs the risk of teetering towards me feeling secondhand embarrassment and cringingā€”because itļæ½ļæ½s too much and unfunny. But if a writer genuinely writes something surprising that makes me laugh, I do appreciate their talent at grasping the opportunity and having the know-how to effectively inject some lighthearted humor.
Fake Relationship: ā€¦My enjoyment level HEAVILY depends on its execution. Itā€™s the characterization, their chemistry, and plot that have to save it for me.
Amnesia Fic: See, I understand itā€™s a plot deviceā€”which is why Iā€™m a lil more forgiving. But donā€™t you hate it when all of a sudden a character gets memory wiped after all that progress? (I feel like I wasted my time just as the story was turning good, and now they have to start over? Kinda feels like unnecessary filler and it can drag on, and I feel like banging my head against the wall.) On a lesser extent of my pickiness, I donā€™t like it as much when itā€™s used as an exposition framing device, with the MC or Love Interest having no recollection of anythingā€”and theyā€™re lied to at the start about who theyā€™re supposed to beā€¦because you know there will be a dramatic fallout happening when they inevitably find out and that predictability (they fall out, and then you know sometime later something will bring them back togetherā€¦the fakeout dramatic ā€œbreakupā€ is just so contrived and mechanical and formulaic) is what turns me off. (I donā€™t mind the amnesia trope as much if itā€™s used in a psychological horror/ thriller story though.)
Shizun F*cker: Itā€™s your master (teacher) x disciple Chinese classic. I went through a phase of binging these stories and I find theyā€™re generally all very good, but there does come a point where you start seeing similarities and not enough freshness with this trope and they all blend together (especially if it feels like itā€™s a pale imitation inferior copycat version of certain shizun f*cker classics). Nowadays this kinda premise has to be accompanied by something fresh and unique in order for me to keep readingā€”and turn my brain off from thinking about the irl teacher-student implications.
Secret Identities: If executed well, I like the reveal of their true identity in the story. Itā€™s like you have this lowkey cute crush who has been helping you all this timeā€”and you find out heā€™s, like, a mafia don or the CEO of a conglomerate or an international spy. Itā€™s the gap moe contrast of who they pretend to be versus the secret badass they really are. It does come with the risk of some predictability for me though which can ruin my immersion (yā€™knowā€¦the typical MCā€™s outrage when finding out their Love Interestā€™s real identity: ā€œYou lied to me?! How can I believe you now when all youā€™ve done is lie to me?!ā€ āž”ļø A genuine apology āž”ļø Fallout āž”ļø Some sort of dramatic reconciliation after the MC or ML/FL was kidnapped).
Tier 4 (C Level)
Dubcon: Itā€™s teetering on the verge between what I find tolerable and what I find unacceptable. As long as it does not fall into the Non-Con territory and isnā€™t written distastefully, I can read dubcon stories where the consent is a blurry line between these two characters.
Major Character Death: I usually donā€™t seek this outā€”because Iā€™m a big weepy baby and I donā€™t want to grow attached to these characters and bawl at the end when the inevitable happens. But on the super rare instances where I do click on a fic despite this warning tag, it means I have mentally and emotionally prepared myself to get knifed in the heart.
Mary Sue Fic: As much as I love power scaling fics and OP MCs, it does get boring if thereā€™s no setback or conflict for the MC to learn from. I mean, sure, itā€™s fine for them to steamroll over everyone but if Iā€™m reading +1K chapters of them just steamrolling, theyā€™ve become a Mary Sue. I want flaws. I want setbacks. Thereā€™s only so much chuunibyou I can tolerate. Thereā€™s only so much descriptions of how ungodly beautiful or how shockingly genius the MC is at everything before I start rolling my eyes. Fatigue has set in and the OP character has become an insufferable milquetoast Mary Sue/ Gary Stu who can do no wrong. My suspension of disbelief has finally been worn away into nothingness. This can also apply to the Love Interest character (I understand their role in the story is to satisfy the ideal dream lover tropeā€”but please give dimension to the character). I want three-dimensional characters with backstory and flaws and an interesting personality, not Mary Sues or Gary Stus.
Y/N (OC Fic): If Iā€™m reading fanfic about my favorite character(s), I donā€™t want to spend my time reading about a writerā€™s Original Character or Self-Insert character being shipped with my favorite. I went in to read stories with my fav shipā€”and only that. There have been the few exceptions to thisā€”but me liking a Y/N or a fic with OCs is ultra rare.
Breakup: Similar to my thoughts on Unrequited Love. But taken up to a hundred. If thereā€™s been a breakup between the main couple in the ficā€”and itā€™s not in the beginning exposition chapter where we donā€™t yet know enough information about these charactersā€”in the middle or near the end, chances are I think the relationship is f*cked anyway and therefore lose interest in the main ship itself in the fic. Even if they get back together at the end, I just think, ā€œHoneyā€¦you can do so much better than him/her.ā€ Which is why I usually donā€™t like reading breakups between the main couple in my fics. (And if the breakup is because the MC or Love Interest is in a precarious situation and they think pushing them away is the best way to protect them, itā€™s a clichĆ© that makes me roll my eyes because itā€™s been so overdone and ugh, why pretend to be awful INSTEAD OF COMMUNICATING?)
Body Swap: ā€¦It depends SO MUCH on the execution. I cringe so hard if a character (usually the guy in the body of a girl) is feeling up their developed chest like a perv. Thereā€™s only a handful of Body Swap stories that do this trope well. If two characters are swapping bodies, I want to read about how theyā€™re trying not to OOC (lol) and see how this body swap impacts the story and cast of characters in any meaningful way.
College AU: Iā€™ve long since graduated from college. Nuff said. Might give a fic a try if itā€™s well-written or a short PWP (it is whatā€™s written on the tin) but, as a working adult, reading about petty school drama wears on my patience. There has to be plot to keep me invested. Might also read if it dives into college controversies or campus scandalsā€”but the suspense has to be executed well. Most of the time, it works if thereā€™s some kinda big mystery like thereā€™s been a crime committed. Because now you have a whodunnit mystery. And thatā€™s so much more interesting than reading about students studying and doing homework, going to parties, crushing on the professor (also, here, yikesā€¦if you want me to turn my brain off and not think about the real life implications (the teacherā€™s immediate suspension (hopefully) and losing their teaching privileges and license), you gotta reel me in with the plot or characters), or the typical student college experience.
Gen Fic: Itā€™s bland, milquetoast, mid and forgettable. Itā€™s like sucking out all the fun elements out of a ficā€”and thatā€™s not my idea of a good time. I think the only way to pull this off is if itā€™s a Character Study fic.
Tier 5 (F Level)
High School AU: Give me real men or women; get out of here with the kiddy stuff. Iā€™m outside the age range to be able to enjoy this. As a working career-woman, I really donā€™t want to spend my free time reading about minors and teen romance and teen drama. And if thereā€™s adult content, sorry, justā€”no. My brain more often than not associates it to underage s3xā€”and it squicks me out. Itā€™s also so much harder for me to suspend my disbelief that this inexperienced kid from high school is like this super genius hacker or ultra cover model beauty whom grown wo/men salivate over. (Becauseā€¦god no, I DONā€™T want to read about a minorā€™s ā€œmilky thighsā€ or ā€œcoquettish voice.ā€ Theyā€™re, like, 14-16 y/o. Who wants to read about a predator who has designs on a teenager?) Also, unless it is at the hilarious peak levels of highschool romcom like Kaguya-sama: Love is War but in fanfiction form, reading about two high school students crushing on each other is 99/100 times so boring and milquetoast to me. I am not the target audience for this trope.
Non-Con: The real life implications ruin any chance for me to want to do anything with this trope. Consent is king, yā€™all. Non-con is a personal squickā€”and therefore I will not read if itā€™s whatā€™s gonna happen between the main couple no matter how sweet and regretful the ML or FL acts after the act. Itā€™s r@pe; I do not find SA and being forced sexy in any way. The moment I see that thereā€™s non-con between the main couple, thatā€™s ruined any chances of me enjoying that ship in the fic. (The only exception I can think of for this is if the ML/FL was mind-controlled or didnā€™t have autonomy over their body due to some kinda magic shenanigans. Or if itā€™s non-con framed as a horrifying traumatic experience between a character and the unimportant cannon fodder whoā€™s there in the story to be punished as a villain and wonā€™t be forgiven in any way.) I will not seek it out if I see a ficā€™s been tagged with this. And if I encounter surprise non-con in my reading, I will immediately drop the fic.
Unhappy Ending: I have a glass maiden heart. I tear up easily when characters die or suffer in a book. I donā€™t want to get emotionally invested in a story and its characters, only to end up with an Unhappy Ending at the end. It just feels so unsatisfactory, like Iā€™d wasted my time on this long fic when I couldā€™ve spent that time productively reading something else that has a much happier and better conclusion.
Crack Fic: Now, the one exception to this is if a writer jokingly says their story revolves around a crackship, but the writingā€™s so dang unbelievably good you donā€™t even think itā€™s a crackship in a crack fic (itā€™s a bonafide good story). But aside from that, 99 out of 100 times, I will not read crack fics. A crack fic is a writerā€™s attempt at humor. And humor is so subjective. What they find funny or entertaining might not be what I find funny or entertaining. Most of the time, itā€™s also of little substance and random and the writing is all over the place (whichā€¦yā€™know, I get it; I notice a lot of people mention they had a wild dream about this and thatā€™s the reason why theyā€™re writing a crack fic.) Iā€™m happy that theyā€™re writing what they find funny and Iā€™m hoping itā€™s fun for them, but crack fics are not my cuppa tea.
Coffeeshop AU: Itā€™s so mid and blah to me. Itā€™s the most milquetoast Meet Cute out of all the Meet Cutes they could have chosen. I think the only one I recently read in, like, years, is because of a Art & Fic Exchange Bang Iā€™d participated in. Itā€™s so long ago. Basically unless itā€™s a stalker or secret identity or psychological horror story to make it interesting, Iā€™d rather read anything else than a bland Coffeeshop AU.
Next Generation: Similar to how I regard OC Fics or OCs in general. Iā€™m here to read fanfiction to read about canon characters of a show or book. I did not come here to read about a writerā€™s cast of Original Characters or Self-Insert characters. If 99% of the fanfic is about the OCs who are the sons and daughters of the canon characters, I just wonā€™t read it. Wonā€™t touch it. Wonā€™t come anywhere near it. They might as well have written an original story of their own instead of a fanfic. (But 99/100 times, itā€™s poorly written and you can tell itā€™s written by a younger writerā€¦eeesh. The good thing is, the more they write, the more practice theyā€™re getting, so the better their writing will be.)
Bonus (F Level)
Cheating/ NTR: my brain automatically associates irl with thisā€”and I find it despicable. The 1% chance I would read this trope is if the MC/ Love Interest is shown the consequences of their actions and the story promises that the person whoā€™s been cheated on breaks up with them. Or if itā€™s a Mindlessly Self-Indulgent PWP oneshotā€”so I know to turn my brain off and lower my usual standards coming in.
Harem Fic: Itā€™s Love Triangleā€”but taken up a notch. Itā€™s so hard to write stallion (er0tica) protags that come across as endearing and not a playboy scummy f*ckboi. It annoys me if Iā€™ve developed attachment to a ship or character and am interested in their relationship development (my waifu or husbando), but the story suddenly shifts to Side Character No.50 whom I couldnā€™t give two hoots about. The only exceptions to this, for me to keep reading a harem fic, is 1) if I like the storytelling, worldbuilding, and/or protagonist or main ship that makes it worth it. Itā€™s very rare but there have been handful of writers who have actually made a harem where I care for and like ALL of the waifus. 2) I also enjoy harem dramas where the MC face-slaps every love rival, evil concubines, white lotus conniving mistresses, jealous queen/ mother, etcā€”and gets The Wo/Man.
Fanfiction Tropes (Writer Edition)
Iā€™m much more open-minded writer usually šŸ˜…, so Iā€™m usually open to try almost anythingā€”but my criteria of tropes I will write for the story depends on my mood and the storyā€™s premise. They usually have to pose some relevancy to the fic (which depends on its premise and characters) and satisfy my want to contribute something fresh/ interesting to the fandom if I decide to write that trope.
The biggest two changes are: 1) Iā€™d move most of these tropes up into Always Down to Write and a few into If the Plot Calls for It. Iā€™d also probably reorder a couple tropes if I look at them from a writerā€™s perspective (left āž”ļø right, arranged from tropes I feel strongly about āž”ļø the tropes I consider mid and donā€™t hold much strong opinions about). 2) Iā€™d change the categories to:
Always Down to Write tier (probably 90% of these)
If the Plot Calls for It, or if Iā€™m Curious and Want to Try Experimenting with It tier (I typically donā€™t go out of my way to read these, but would be willing to challenge myself and see what the writing experience would be like)
Youā€™d Never Catch Me with My Pants Down Writing It tier (fun fact: thereā€™s only maybe 4 or 5 of these Iā€™d put here)
If you happen to be a writer whose tropes fall into ones I do not like and you know Iā€™ve gushed about your fic before, know that you were one of the rare exceptions and I hope knowing this makes you happy. ā•°(*Ā“ļø¶`*)ā•Æā™”

Goood morning xx
I need a second opinion before I try getting tickets haha
So I could only go to Cardiff on Saturday because I have to fly in from Berlin and travel is just a bit inconvenient but definitely manageable. I did it last year to visit a friend. BUT the problem is, technically during that time my uni still has exam period during the weeks so Iā€™m wondering what if the timing for that will be shit and Iā€™m going to be way too stressed to enjoy the concert?
Last year the last exam was already done in that week but you never know lol. Should I risk it and try for tickets or just leave it and wait till they play other Europe/germany shows? šŸ™ˆā¤ļø
Iā€™m guessing you could potentially have exams on the Friday then? Can you get a late flight Friday when exams are done? Also if you could get an early morning flight on the Saturday it could work especially if you have somewhere to stay and donā€™t have to sort out accommodation but it might be stressful depending on where youā€™re flying into. Itā€™s nice to not be rushing around.
I think theyā€™ll be doing a uk arena tour before the end of the year. They might even get a European tour in early next year if theyā€™re promoting the new album?
I really donā€™t know lovely I guess it depends how stressful itā€™s gonna be! Let me know what you decide xx

What I'd love to see in S8B
It seems the version I favored first regarding Troy's return, namely Troy being just a manifestation of Madison's guilt is not gonna play out, at all. Which I'm kinda sad about but it was never a very likely outcome [not saying that what I'm talking about here is any more likely haha].
Now, I heard some rumors, about how Troy coming back may play out (I feel like there's no question anymore whether Troy is returning) and the one that wouldn't let me go is [under the cut because of potential spoilers. maybe. who knows]
him having a daughter. Now, no idea how likely that is. But assuming that is happening - and I have to admit I had very mixed feelings when I first heard that which maybe has to do with the fact that I'm one of the few people who mostly don't like storylines with kids (like, I was no fan of squirrel at all in Cursed šŸ™ˆ). I also worried whether they would change Troy's character because of the daughter and he becomes unrecognizable (also because we are missing how he went from end of s3, where he was still learning who he was to ... well whoever he is in s8. Missed opportunity).
Ok putting all that aside, if he has a daughter, how fun would it be though if he teamed up with Madison to save his daughter and possibly starting their manipulative game again, probably with him now holding things over her head (things is her having intended to kill him, I'm sure he can play perfectly into her guilt there) - a reflection of s3 but now it's him trying to save his kid, doing everything for her. ["You love him more than your own life?" he'd asked Madison in s3ep1 with this note of surprise in his tone. He totally gets it now and very likely will use this, the fact that he's a parent now, to get her to cooperate too. Pulling out alll the stops.] A distorted reflection.
I think they'll manage to get the daughter (introducing her just to kill her off seems wasteful to me but who knows) and then I would absolutely love it if Troy ends up mirroring Madison's actions to the end - killing her in order to keep his kid safe. And Madison seeing that intent, accepting her fate just seconds before (my personal headcanon *is* that Madison harbors a lot of guilt for how she did things so it's even kind of cathartic maybe for her, to die so she can't hurt any more kids (but I also have to admit I haven't really watched Madison's arc beyond s3 so I may be off here)).
OR, alternatively they manage to get his daughter back, and do part ways now in a mutual understanding and forgiveness (something Troy had tried to get/give in s3 but Madison hadn't been ready for that), some of Madison's guilt will even be lifted, she'll feel some sense of accomplishment/peace. And then it's revealed (don't ask me how haha I'd have to think on that) that Troy isn't actually the father of his supposed daughter but a kid he stole from her parents
[maybe her parents nursed him back to health, maybe there were some cute bonding scenes between Troy and her, maybe her parents were acting strict or something towards her and Troy, with his own childhood trauma saw it as them mistreating her, maybe he overreacted then as he decided 'not again, I won't let this happen again' and took her, maybe she cried the first few weeks while he told her her parents died in a zombie attack, maybe they are in a good place now - though it would also be fun if it's not all good],
and in fact, Madison should have killed him this time (or at least not have allowed him to leave). I do like tragedy of it, how she had killed him in s3 to save Nick (which wasn't necessary at all) and now that she let him go she feels again like she made the wrong choice, damned this kid.
Anyway guess I'm slightly looking forward to s8b after all šŸ˜‚

Coming back from a long break, I see the girlfriend isn't appreciated at all. I'm glad I'm skipping all the lovey-dovey tbh. Do we expect any big announcement soon? What do you guys think?
P.s. how's the show? Is anybody watching? If so, where?
Helloo and welcome back! šŸ˜ƒ Haha yes... unfortunately, there hasn't been anything too interesting going on, so I don't think you missed much. As for big announcements, Alex hinted at a proposal some time ago, but so far... nothing happened. We had guessed maybe on her birthday, so let's see what happens (if anything).
About the show, I admit that I started watching it, but never got to finish it. šŸ™ˆšŸ¤ It has finally been released on Viaplay, so if it's available in your country, that's an option. If not, it's also on SBS, which is an Australian platform, but you can still watch it for free with a VPN (I used this option).

Ppl are booing Lovesick Jimin but I canā€™t help liking him and finding him so hot, especially in that first police station scene ahhhhh. Should I feel guilty??šŸ™ˆ Jiminā€™s my bias so I guess I will always be biased when it comes to Jimin, even in fictionšŸ˜‚ (also love Abundance Jimin, btw)
Canā€™t wait to see more of his (and the othersā€™) character development. I wonder if him and y/n are ever gonna have a conversation abt his letters. Would someone like him feel embarrassed or proud abt them? Ahhh canā€™t waitt.
Ps. Youā€™re an incredible writer! Thank you for your workšŸ’œ
Haha nooo you're okay! I've read stories where the boys kill someone and gone "..... wait, that's kinda sexy" so like, I get it lmao. It's only fiction after all! šŸ™ˆ (Thank you!!)
Oh, you can bet Jimin is going to bring up his letters asap! He's is very proud of them, lol.
Thank you so so much!! šŸ’–šŸ’– I really appreciate you leaving me a comment as well šŸ¤§

Gym Day 3
Leg Day šŸ˜ Killed it! Had the lady gym all to myself today so I took a quick picture to show yā€™all the tiny closet haha.
Tumblr media
It looks a lot bigger on the picture because I used wide angle to capture it all while squeezing myself in the corner. Iā€™d say itā€™s about 40-50 square meter. My living room is 32 šŸ¤
Itā€™s nice though that there is one at least. So you donā€™t have to do your RDLs and Squats in a room full of men. Itā€˜d be quite uncomfortable. Also when you go at times like I do, it feels safer to have a space like that. Trainers wonā€™t be at the gym before 9am and other staff members not until 7am. There is a night watch but this morning it was a rather tiny woman and I was a little confused about how sheā€™d protect me if anything happens šŸ‘€
Not a day so far where I didnā€™t embarrass myself though. I donā€™t know what it is with me lol. Went on the leg curl today and I somehow managed to slip down lmao. Donā€™t ask me how!!! Just so glad no one saw that. At least I think no one saw that šŸ™ˆ
And because I forgot to tell yesterday: when I was at the cable pull a guy came over and asked something. I say something because I saw his lips move and talking in my direction, a meter away from me but I couldnā€™t hear a single word. And I said Iā€™m sorry what? He repeated but I still didnā€™t hear anything šŸ™ˆšŸ˜ I was just like wtf brain get your shit together. And so I had to ask him again and it was so embarrassing šŸ™ˆ Iā€™m pretty sure he thinks Iā€™m fucking stupid or something šŸ˜ All he wanted to know was how many sets I had left and I gave him such a hard time.
I hate when that happens. And it happens a lot. People talk to me, I hear their voice, but no words can reach me. So awkward every time this happens. šŸ«„
And why the hell do they have this terrible light in the gym. Itā€™s the same light you have in changing booths! It makes you so ugly!! Whyyy. Not asking for sexy dim light but cā€™mon!
Also today I saw the first gym babe. Not just saw, heard her as well. I donā€™t like talking bad about people I donā€™t know. But if you are familiar with certain videos of women complaining about creepy guys while theyā€™re literally half naked or doing things no one can look away from, then you get the picture.
Anyways it was fun, saw nice people (men) and found a couple new vegan products at the store afterwards. Happy Day āœŒļø
PS: I need a solution to this carry-stuff-around-in-the-gym issue. Like, you got a towel, membership card, water, phone etc and it feels like going into a grocery store without a cart. Balancing it, making sure you donā€™t drop or forget anything. But it canā€™t be a bag where you donā€™t see the stuff or you have to fish it out. But I guess a basket would look silly šŸ¤ I need to figure something out

hii for the ask thing! šŸ©· + šŸ” + šŸ« (i love traveling and am always curious where ppl wanna go! šŸ™ˆ)
traveling is a lot of fun tbh HAHA though i feel like it also it depends on who you end up going with or if you go alone ;-;
šŸ©· dream job?
i don't actually have a precise answer for this HAHA i guess a more roundabout way to go on about this is a job where i can help some other people - since it was the same mindset that made me choose nursing after all uwu
šŸ” something no one would guess about you
tbh, from old friends and family alike. i guess the fact that i chose to study nurse instead of going into IT was always a bit of a surprise for them-
šŸ« some place youā€™d love to visit
VERY NORMAL ANSWER BUT IT IS INDEED EITHER JAPAN OR SOUTH KOREA! otherwise i would like to visit some variety of archaeological sites like pompeii or the nazca lines to just see them once in my life hehe

But Sirius thought Remus was capable of betraying James without any evidence at all (that we know of), meanwhile Remus believed Sirius betrayed James when literally all evidence pointed towards that. What actually happened was so outlandish no one would have believed it if Peter hadnā€™t actually been there in the Shack. Can you really blame Remus for trying to make sense of it all and cope somehow? He lost everything and everyone that day :(
friend, u must be new here :p (haha iā€™m only kidding bc this is something i rant about a lot here šŸ™ˆ)
when i say remus failed sirius, iā€™m not even referring to the entire clusterfuck of that situation. in saudade, sirius says ā€˜i wouldnā€™t have cared if you thought i was a mass murderer or a death eaterā€™ (paraphrased) and i would extend that to believing he murdered peter as well. itā€™s entirely believable for remus to be super confused and messed up bc, like u said, he lost everything that night.
but i personally believe james and siriusā€™ friendship was so, so strong and so fkn intense that it was obvious to everyone around them (and this is highkey backed up by canon as wellā€”rosmerta and mcg) and remus wouldā€™ve had front row seats to that. in my mind, marauder dynamics were like this: james at the centre, sirius as his closest and dearest friend, and remus and peter still pretty close but comparatively peripheral.
and thatā€™s really the crux of the matter for me. itā€™s one thing for everyone else to condemn sirius, not having seen close up how attached he was to jamesā€”but for remus to do the same? they might as well not have been marauders then.
(itā€™s also like. james & sirius accepted remusā€™ wolfy issues to the point that they literally risked body and magic and jail time to help him. it wasnā€™t lip service but true acceptance. james called it his ā€˜furry little problemā€™ and imagine what that must have felt like to someone like remus whoā€™s only seen werewolves referred to derogatorily, never in such a lighthearted manner. they believed in him despite growing up as purebloods whoā€™dā€™ve probably heard/seen the worst kind of bias and discrimination. can remus not have found it in himself to do the same?)
(also, if iā€™m permitted to go into conjecture/headcanon territoryā€”i have two HCs for sirius suspecting remus. one, inspired by daily-chan, is that they never actually did. the only reason they kept distance from remus and didnā€™t tell him about the switch was because he was infiltrating werewolf packs at the time and to be found w info like that wouldā€™ve been very dangerous for him so itā€™s a way to protect him.
second, they do suspect him but thatā€™s bc remus gives them cause to do it. again, heā€™s infiltrating werewolf packs. but, i firmly believe knowing remus, he wouldā€™ve been very shady about it, not telling them what heā€™s doing and where heā€™s going (which, j&s wouldā€™ve done themselves and expected, in the middle of war, regardless of orders) and he doesnā€™t want to question dumbledoreā€™s actions and all of that, while not exactly being the same as a death eater, casts enough doubt that they couldnā€™t trust him with something like the fidelius bc he refuses to just tell them what heā€™s doing)
sorry this is so long lol but iā€™m v passionate about this. i guess it comes down to this: yes, remusā€™ actions might make sense. he was suffering. but sirius really, really drew the short end of the stick there. and for his own friend, his best friend & brother, to treat him the same way as those who didnā€™t know him? thatā€™s even worse.

10, 18 and 28? <3
Thank you for the ask, lovely. :)
10. If you had unlimited money and opportunities, is there anything youā€™d want to do for your parts?
Ooh, nice one! I think the biggest thing would be to get a bigger appartment/house, to have a garden, and to have pets. I think we'd all love that... but yeah, specifically parts-related I'm not sure if we have many wishes.
18. Are there any reoccurring themes or symbolism in your system? Would you like to share about it?
Yes... You can really sense the intergenerational trauma at times.
TW: Christianity
My dad was raised as a very strict protestant Christian. They went to church every day and had to go three times a day on the weekends. Even though he did not choose to raise his own children with any religion, some aspects were still very apparent. Some good, such as placing high importance on helping others. But some bad things as well, such as an intent focus on morality, being 'bad' and never really being able to reach being 'good', very high importance of black-and-white rules, etc. You can see this in our system as well, unfortunately. Some parts are really intent on "keeping the rules", whereas others believe they will never escape being bad, etc. You can see this in symbolism too, with some parts seeing helping parts as 'angels' and scary parts as 'demons'.
Another big symbolism thing is tied to animals. Quite a proportion of parts have animal names. I think this is mostly because I loved animals as a child and was pretty much obsessed with them, but there is also symbolism behind it. Fox, for example, got his name based on the symbolism of being in a rough spot... like a fox during English hunting (where they go after foxes with horses and dogs). Robins are, for us, associated with curiousity. The Cat is obsessed with getting physical touch (like a stroke on the back). Mouse seeks out attachment, feeling small and helpless in the world.
I guess there is also symbolism in mostly not having 'human' names. Lucas, for example, is not the true name of that part (I'm not allowed to share his true name). It is also a name that you wouldn't see out in the world for a person. I guess that relates to feeling inferior/not like a real person.
28. How long have you known about your parts? Comparing since then to now, what allā€™s changed?
Hmm... I had some hunches when I was a teenager. I mean, I didn't know... but I would find a different name carved in the wooden frame of my bed, for example, and that... freaked me out. Until a 'thought' that I had inside comforted me... so I sort of knew without knowing? Without having the words for it... and still in a fog of a lot of confusion.
When I *really* found out, I was much older and in therapy. I think the main thing that has changed is that I'm better able to help now... I know that parts can be stuck in the past and I have more faith in my ability to stick with them. (Even if they are really mean to me at first, I know that can really turn around eventually). I still have a hard time consistently doing parts' work, but it's gotten easier over time. I'm less confused and scared overall, I would say.
Thank you for the ask! I really rambled in this one, haha. šŸ™ˆ But I hope it's still interesting to read nonetheless... šŸ’œ

Fanfiction writing asks
Well, iā€™d ask you all these questions but i need to choose so 12, 26, 36, 72, 79
(35. Will flower shop fic WAS A FREAKING MASTERPIECE šŸ˜šŸ§ŽšŸ»ā€ā™€ļøšŸ›)
Heya there! Hahaha stawwp youā€™re too sweet!! šŸ„¹šŸ„¹šŸ„¹ but thank you for the ask!šŸ„°
12. Do you outline your fics?Ā  If yes, how detailed are your outlines?Ā  How far do you stray from them?
Suuureee haha.. ha.. haā€¦šŸ‘€
Nah, I mean, I try, but Iā€™m just very shit at planning things out. It also depends on what kind of fic it is - for Stargazing I have an excel sheet thatā€™s broken down into chapters/days in the villa and then what should happen in the morning, afternoon, evening, and night, but I strayed away from it many a time lol. For Beloved and Beloathed I have exactly zero outline whatsoeveršŸ™ˆ I donā€™t outline one shots either, except for Snog, Marry, Die, where I planned out the order of who dies when based on the horror film tropes (first is the comedic relief, then jock, then nerd, etc.)šŸ˜„ Iā€™m more of an intuitive, ā€œgo with the flowā€ kinda person and am very chaotic while writing. If I get an idea, I instead start a google doc with bullet points just jotting down thoughts or quotes that pop into my head:)
26. Whatā€™s your least favorite part of the writing process?
When I really want to get to the scene Iā€™m super excited about, but I have to write 500 000 words before I can get to itšŸ˜šŸ˜šŸ˜ it makes me wanna crawl out if my skin sometimes lolšŸ˜‚
And also the preparation before writing - like, if Iā€™m in the mood to write, but I have to have at least some idea of an outline and do at least some research before I can actually writešŸ˜ž then I spiral into it and start overthinking everything and that really kills the vibešŸ˜’
36. What fic are you proudest of?
Iā€™m honestly proud of all of them, otherwise I wouldnā€™t have posted them hahašŸ˜… but Iā€™m gonna say Stargazing, for the sheer amount of time and effort it takes to write it. I canā€™t believe I decided to do something so incredibly ambitious and time consuming for my first fanfic - kudos to me lol!šŸ™ˆ
72. Whatā€™s your favorite writing compliment youā€™ve gotten?
Aww I love all of my commenters and always giggle and kick my feet when I get a comment, itā€™s impossible to pick onešŸ„ŗšŸ„ŗšŸ„ŗ I absolutely melt when people pull out quotes from my stories - the serotonin boost it gives me is impeccable lolšŸ„¹ or when people say they like my writing stylešŸ„° or when people say they laughed or cried or felt scared while reading something I just- The fact that the silly little words I put together evoke such strong feelings and reactions in others makes me just so immensely happy, I canā€™t even express itšŸ˜šŸ’•šŸ’•šŸ’•
79. Do you have any writing advice you want to share?
Lol I donā€™t feel qualified enough to give writing advicešŸ˜…šŸ˜… But if I must, I guess what Iā€™ll say is - write simple. Thereā€™s definitely beauty in simplicity and overusing fancy words doesnā€™t necessarily make it better. I think itā€™s more powerful to use big words sparingly, so that thereā€™s more impact in when you do use them, but otherwise it can be jarring and wonā€™t feel natural.

In AWY is Hinata ever gonna date someone? I mean, she feels hella pathetic waiting around like that. Idk I just think she should explore a bit outside of Naruto. Tho I guess her personality in there wonā€™t allow her. I canā€™t lie, itā€™s kinda painful to read. I liked when she talked to Itachi and Sasuke. She felt more of her own character than someone whoā€™s waiting around helplessly for Naruto and doing whatever he does or says. Like a puppet or a dog without a master. It seems like sheā€™s always the one reaching out to him even when heā€™s in the wrong. I wish Naruto for once will do the reaching out. You can see even in the text messages, sheā€™s the one texting him the most and sometimes he doesnā€™t respond at all while she always does no matter what. Tbh I donā€™t know what I want from her. Sheā€™s kinda confusing and too hard on herself. When it comes to Naruto, I feel like she lacks a backbone. Sometimes it feels like he walks all over her without considering her feelings and she just allows it. She frustrates me but I canā€™t help but keep reading and rooting for her. I guess I want her to make Naruto jealous instead of her always being the one feeling it and forgiving him real quick and reaching out and doing the heavy lifting. Anyways, Iā€™m happy youā€™ve updated AWY and glad youā€™re doing better!
(I apologize if this ask was rude and harsh. It wasnā€™t my intention. Youā€™re one of my favorite NH fanfic writer.)
It's all good!! If this means the fic still has your investment, then you're totally fine. Sorry for putting you through the unrequited stress, haha! šŸ™ˆ
Keep in the mind, the texts were from their second year of middle school, and yes they did fall off even further between then and this chapter.
At risk of telling you what you already know, they were friendly in school but uninvolved in each other's lives and it was getting that way increasingly. They finally actually talked, like, Naruto didn't just go and get distracted and forget to reply to her like before, so the old pattern in their texts was just another form of proof of how things looked before to contrast to the development happening in real time.
Hinata's pining and putting Naruto first will always be there, but as his sister. And vice-versa, that's what they're going to keep working at. I like to think that Naruto got miffed when she had to leave because he was projecting prior experiences onto her, otherwise he's all in with being the best brother and friend ever. He was ridiculously happy spending time with her the night before, that hasn't changed.
So... As for Hinata developing a life outside of Naruto, that already happened with her club and her committee responsibilities. She even believed she might be getting over him, however that in of itself was incredibly painful and she grew to believe that the distance was exacerbating her feelings, not dulling them. That's why they are where they are now. So there's no intention of revisiting that because it would be backtracking, but whatever happens to them after high school is a different matter.
As for Hinata ever dating outside of Naruto, that is planned to varying degrees of 'seriousness'. I hope to get to the Rinne Matsuri in Ch 9, as that will be the first example of this. šŸ˜˜
And more jealous Naruto? I say 'more' because he's been quite weird towards Itachi and Iruka already when it comes to her and it has been my intention to play with that further next chapter. šŸ¤” I do have overly protective, ignorantly jealous Naruto planned as they spend more time together. I also have Naruto disappointing her by going back to his old habits of forgetting her, I just won't spoil exactly how that happens ofc.
All in all, life is gonna happen to them, and yes they should try to outgrow their worst tendencies and habits and such, figure out their boundaries, etc. I agree that it's been rough for Hinata to love him all this time and that she should only do as much as is healthy for her. I do want that to be part of the narrative, absolutely, if it hasn't already lol.
Even Naruto needs it too.
On Naruto's end, he belatedly realized that he felt scammed by Neji for entrusting her wellbeing to him. He's felt less like family over time and more like an unwilling bodyguard coerced into the role with the promise of being loved and accepted for his efforts. I think on some level, all of his forgetting about Hinata was just a reaction to having been convinced into caring about their sibling bonds when all along his own needs were going unmet, if that makes sense. That's why they had that falling out, because Hinata's words about Neji being her only family made his own repressed resentment valid.
Anyhoo, omigosh, I hope my rambling wasn't patronizing somehow. šŸ˜
Thank you so much for reading my stuffs! I'm so honored to be among your faves! šŸ˜šŸ’–šŸ’–šŸ’–
