I forgot but I evidently doodle this before I went to sleep last night. He just wants to help Hack look for Hiccup.

Might've gotten married to the idea of Hack having a runt stormcutter after all :p so I did a car doodle to get rough idea out

ANYWAYS thoughts on it all

- Maybe the teens (when they're like 15 so not too long after the first movie) are doing some recon or dragon research blah blah either way they end up in some caves and somehow Hack gets separated from the group/Hiccup

- Since they kinda do that bat ceiling crawl thing anyways, he doesn't really notice the dragon until he looks up, probably in the middle of complaining about being lost

- Probably shocked scream and trip backwards

- Though he doesn't know it (cause no one on Berk aside from Stoick has seen a Stormcutter before), this Stormcutter is about 1/2 to 2/3 the size of a normal Stormcutter, but they're still a really big breed even as a runt

- Haven't pinned down just what coloring the Stormcutter would have but was thinking a gray hue similar to the Woodland Stormcutter's or even more gray to help blend into the cave walls

- Hack utilizing tricks Hiccup has taught him to get the Stormcutter to warm up to him enough to at least not be a threat

- He starts walking and the Stormcutter starts following him

- He calls for Hiccup or anyone and maybe the Stormcutter roars after him, mimicking his action (but scaring him the first time before he kinda awkwardly says thanks for the help)

- I'm a drama hoe so there's something like a cave in or an aggressive dragon that led the Stormcutter to grabbing Hack and running out of the cave and taking off

- Hack: terrified relief; he's out of the cave but he's also being carried very high in the air while the Stormcutter looks for a proper area to land

- "Hack?!" How lucky Hiccup and co. made it out of the cave and had been trying to figure out a plan to find him

- Something something he gets the Stormcutter to land by the group and set him down (he was probably being carried in the mouth if we're being real)

- Slobber covered, he basically gets to be like "Well... guess I found a dragon for me.." while the Stormcutter just kinda looks at the others from behind Hack, probably with its tail curled around in front of him

More HaddockTwins AU thoughts

GONNA KEEP ADDING ONTO THIS SO LET’S START WITH THE FIRST MOVIE

- Hack getting stuck back at Gobber’s workshop while Hiccup runs off to hunt the Night Fury

- That teen embarrassment at Hiccup saying he shot down the Night Fury but still trying to be supportive after the whole Stoick thing

- Hack not knowing why Hiccup doesn’t want to kill dragons anymore when they get ready for training and not being able to get him to say anything, something unusual and concerning considering their closeness

- Hack not knowing about Toothless until he gets curious about why his brother isn’t around as often - how they’ve seemed to grow apart since they started training - and how he’s suddenly become a dragon taming god and trails after him

- Like Hiccup before him, he was never one for large weapons or anything like that, so he had but a small dagger with him

- Coming across Hiccup on top of Toothless was a big enough a shock its own, let alone Toothless charging him

- Hack nearly passing out at the adrenaline as Hiccup convinces Toothless to stop just as he was about to pounce on him, sliding to a stop, dust puffing up around them.

- “Does dad know about this?!” “No..” “Were you gonna tell me?!” “Iiiiiiii- A-At some point-!”

- He trusts Hiccup - so Hiccup doesn’t have to use his ‘let me show you’ line - but man is he scared of Toothless, flinching anytime Toothless moved.

- He’s nervous but tries to cover for Hiccup when people ask where Hiccup suddenly got so good and, in exchange, Hiccup helps him learn how to handle dragons too, teaching him to not fear them and enlightening him to how dragons can truly be, slowly but surely as he works to overcome the fear beaten into him their whole lives

- It takes time but, soon enough, Hiccup had him flying with him every so often

- Hack was gonna have a long ways to go before he got to the point of being able to get near a dragon alone like Hiccup, but he felt pretty proud that he not only was able to ride with Hiccup, but also that he was able to reconnect with his brother once again, even when covering for him in the village.

- And then it’s suddenly the end of training, and, though he was removed ages ago due to his lack of skill as a ‘proper’ viking, he can’t help but watch his brother move through the ranks, even when he knows Hiccup doesn’t want to be.

- Due to Hiccup assuming that he would do better in the village, Hack is quite hurt when he finds out Hiccup had planned to leave without saying anything, especially after he’d thought things were going well - the whole killing the monstrous nightmare thing notwithstanding. However, that hurt is almost wiped away when he hears that not only is Astrid now on their side, but also about the danger of the “queen” of the dragon nest.

- Going into the next day, he’s nearly panicking, feeling like he’s sending his brother to his death bed as he prepares to enter the ring. He’d understood what Hiccup planned to do, but who was to say it would work? And even if he could calm the Nightmare, what was to stop the other vikings - let alone their dad - from lashing against him.

- When Stoick’s hammer hits the bar, he already knew his deepest fear was coming true.

- As Astrid climbs under the bars, he doesn’t hesitate to follow after, even when he doesn’t know what he’s going to do

- man I’m floundering in this part

- anyways one way or another, he makes it to Stoick with Astrid and tries to run back for Hiccup when he gets caught until he hears Toothless’s roar

- Absolute chaos

- After it all, Hack’s wobbly - not only had his brother almost died, he could tell what Toothless was getting ready to do from his angle

- He couldn’t quite blame him but he couldn’t help but still be scared after all that

- Getting dragged back to the main hall with Hiccup as they try to reason their case

- Stoick getting mad at Hack standing up for Hiccup

- After Hiccup gets tossed to the ground, Hack trying to help him up but losing strength when Stoick says they’re not his sons

- He becomes notably despondent, struggling to offer input as they go to see their father off. 

- As Hiccup and Astrid talk, he listens as well, finding courage as Hiccup’s determination makes itself known

- Dragon introductions are interesting, since there’s one too few dragons, but he volunteers to be a ride along rather than a rider, knowing the others were more adept fighters if the need arose

- Little intermission of the trip there 

- Hack is probably riding with Snotlout cause of the size of a Monstrous Nightmare

- Poor Hack

- Snotlout is already unsure about what he’s doing cause, you know, socialization to hate and mistrust dragons, so he’s already on edge for like half the flight until he starts getting used to it

- Hack getting stuck with his ‘this is no big deal, I’ve bench pressed boulders heavier than this guy’ or something idk and having to awkwardly agree 

- He starts to regret not asking to ride with, say, the twins, until he looks over and sees them trying to fight between their dragons’ heads

- Pained resignation as he tries to focus on their task at hand of a) save Toothless b) More than likely save their dad c) survive

- Oh boy

- ANYWAYS to the action 

- He’s stuck with Snotlout, so off to distract the Red Death with sound he goes

- He starts noticing the sound affecting the Nightmare

- “Hey, uh, Snotlout... I think maybe you should-” Not a fast enough warning

- Barely keeps hold of the Nightmare as he goes down with it after it’s collision with the Red Death

- He’s on the ground by the time he hears Toothless’s roar, but man is he relieved to hear it

- Makes his way over to the group of vikings gathered to the side of the pseudo battlefield as quick as he can, trying to find his dad or Gobber

- Fear and hope as he comes to Stoick’s side and watches Hiccup disappear in the clouds with the Red Death after him 

- He barely stays standing at the shock wave when the Red Death crashes and, as he waits for things to clear enough to investigate, he can’t help but feel that he might not belong at his dad’s side (as he wasn’t present during the Stoick apology and the action of the last couple minutes hasn’t exactly allowed the necessary repairing of their relationship)

- The fire clears, but no one can see through the ash so, when Stoick ventures out in search of Hiccup, he makes his way through the ash as well

- When he can make out that Stoick’s kneeling, he starts running, calling for Hiccup as well

- Man if he wasn’t crying when he thought Hiccup was dead, when Stoick announces he’s alive he certainly is

- He cares about the foot but he’s caught in the euphoria of him still being alive in the first place

- Family hug (despite Hiccup being unconscious)?

- Cut to the village as Hack awaits Hiccups awakening

- He’s probably on his way back from getting food or something to stoke the fire in the house when he sees that Hiccup’s up and about and quickly joins Stoick beside him

- Subtle gasp at Astrid’s kiss but is he really surprised? A little bit but he’d sat through enough years of Hiccup’s crush on her to be happy it finally came to fruition

- The end of the first movie?

AU for my AU that my friend came up with: Hack being taken with Valka by Cloudjumper and so Hiccup has the added thoughts and guilt of comparing himself to his ‘better’ brother and how his brother wouldn’t be such a disappointment and what not until they meet and awkwardly become brothers

Anyways I'm just gonna dump my thoughts about it here SO (and for context here’s the wonderful edit that’s been making me think about this)

- Hiccup and Hack

- Hiccup being the older twin

- I’ve only watched the movies and a couple of the shorts so I’ve got limited knowledge so I’m basing around movie story line

- First movie, Hack probably wouldn’t have gotten a dragon yet cause of the dragons that had been available from training

- Sometime between the first and second movie, Hack gets a dragon of his own

- I’m down to 3 types of dragons just cause I loved em so much but maybe he got a Hobblegrunt cause of wearing their feelings on their sleeve or a Changewing cause that’s a pretty dragon and also it could have some pretty comedic stuff with the hypnotism bit for dealing with, say, Snotlout or the twins

- The third dragon I’ve really rreeeeealllly thought about is if Hack somehow got a Stormcutter but one that’s a runt, so no one actually knows how big an actual Stormcutter is (AKA Cloud Jumper) and think he’s got a normal sized one so extra surprise for when they find Valka

- And dun dun dun there’s the reason I’ve been thinking about a runt Stormcutter cause connection to Valka despite it all

- Actually since I’m thinking about it, Stoick would probably know how big an actual Stormcutter is but I wonder if he’d say anything about it seeing his son make a connection to one like that and not wanting to worry his mind about the whole ‘well a dragon like that killed ye mum soooooo’

- Anyways I was thinking a lot about this at like 1 am so there’s the end of my thoughts FOR NOW cause this is fun to imagine how things might’ve changed and I’m probably definitely gonna be coming back to this later

HaddockTwins AU cont.

Just when you think I’m off my bullshit herE I COME

But this time smaller rambles and considerations cause I don’t wanna write up movie notes again rn

SO: I have been thinking about the AU on and off once again and there’s a few things I’ve come to conclusions on. 

- There were two considerations for Hack getting in a relationship for the second or third movie: Ruffnut or Eret

- I really love Ruffnut so I’m biased and I had thought it could’ve been entertaining handling how Snotlout and Fishlegs would react to finding out she and Hack were involved but I ended up enjoying their current dynamics and the implication that she ended up with Fishlegs too much to impose on that

- So here comes the Eret consideration (and winner) 

- Mister eligible bachelor here with brother of the chief who allowed him on their island who also allowed him to care for their late father’s dragon? hell yeah there’s so much you can build from there

- I wanna think about how interactions would form once getting to the movie write ups again but small things here

- Just the kinda hesitance in their starting friendship cause you know the whole ‘former dragon trapper adjusting to life with a newfound respect of dragons’ and admittedly the general Berk dwellers are probably gonna be hesitant cause 1) new person 2) his history

- So main crew of kids would be the ones who interact with him the most understandably

- Hiccup has so many new chiefly duties and though he tries to make time to help Eret learn how to properly ride, the position usually falls to Astrid or Hack

- General bonding during the lessons (short their time is) and congratulations when Eret is able to fly about confidently on his own unassisted

- An offhand comment that Eret makes that he’d ‘miss having these regular flights’ and Hack just kinda awkwardly stumbling about with a ‘well... they don’t have to stop’

- Astrid occasionally joins but less so now that Eret’s got a hang of it as she also has things to focus on 

- Closer bonding as Eret’s flight confidence grows and they venture out more and more in flights rather than close shoreline flights 

- Probably days where Eret does something similar to how Stoick would fly with Skullcrusher and Hack has to take a few moments to himself, perhaps doing a few tricks (like a spiral or dive) to distract from his feelings

- Hi i’m big on exploring emotional trauma of losing parents : )

- Eventually them taking breaks on little isles in the distance and just spending afternoons sitting around discussing recent village happenings or Eret telling tales of his ventures during his trapping days

- Eret’s loyalty towards his brother is a comfort as some grow weary of the young chieftain, as they all understood Stoick had left behind large shoes to fill

- At one point, maybe a night after a long flight where they’re killing time before they head back, sitting around a small fire, Eret making a comment about Stoick in one way or another, be it asking what he was like aside from the few times he’d interacted with him in the short span of time before his passing or how he’d fly with Skullcrusher, or even something like him commenting on how Hiccup and Hack have handled the passing

- Bonding over grief breakdown : D

- NEW LEVEL OF CLOSENESS

- Things progressing from there as Eret takes on the task of being Hiccups right hand man and Hack helping Gobber a lot of the time, but the two still making time for afternoon flights every few days at minimum
